Humans made their final stand on Mars and lost.

Now the aliens are coming. They want to occupy earth. They want to destroy humanity. They want to kill every last one of us.

But we are legion. Seven billion humans are tough to kill. Pockets of survivors band together to fight back. It's hard to know who to trust. Human collaborates will do anything to live one more day.

The US mounts an offensive. They turn loose Lt William "Don't ever call me the Kid" Bonney and his eight headhunters to wreak havoc on the invaders. Their business is killing Licks and brother, business is good.

But the Lick Commander has a plan. More betrayal.

When Bonney and his squad raid a supply train on the orders of High Command, they rescue a prisoner with a secret. One that will change the tide of war and help the human cause win. If they can last long enough to reach it.

Book One in the Invasion Series is an extension of the world built in PHALANX and PHYRRIC. Fans of dystopian military sci fi are going to love the adventures of Lt and his squad of misfits as they roam middle America siccing the dogs of war on alien invaders bent on colonizing earth.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review

This is a story about when the Earth was involved in an interstellar war and up to this point, is losing. The aliens have landed on Earth and have established a beachhead. Even though the remaining humans are hard pressed, there are still pockets of resistance against the aliens. The characters are well written and dynamic, expressing the true extent of their situations, there is action, death, tragedy, and hope. This is what keeps the reader involved in the story, because no matter what else the author has put into this story, he has put in hope. A very good story/book to read

I didn't have any preconceived ideas about this book or this author and I was pleasantly surprised. The story is an interesting take on "the aliens have landed" theme. The characters are engaging and left me wanting more back story. The tech is not so over-the-top that it's not believeable and the aliens are a different breed of cat (not literally cats so don't get too excited feline lovers)! A quick and engaging read that was worth the time.

While it's a typical alien invasion story, it's pretty well told, and I am likely to read more in the series. I'd like to know how the humans fair with their new tech. Although, it looks like the aliens have some tricks up their sleeves too, so it should prove to be an interesting next book as well.

Feisty Mil SF

Great fast moving story with interesting characters. Language wasn’t as bad as previewed, unfortunately the spelling and number of typos was more than a little off-putting.

Stolen From a movie

The lot was well thought out and interesting, the enemies were part of your nightmares, but the friendly characters and some dialogue were stolen from the movie INGLORIUS BASTARDS. I did think that the Lt was better than Brad Pitt.

Expendables meets aliens

One man leads a ragtag crew against overwhelming odds! Sf guerilla warfare at its best. Solid characters and interesting story arcs. Doesn't end in a cliffhanger but makes you want to crack open the next book.

🌟🌟🌟⭐

+ A good story, lots of intrigue and some great protagonists. The sections from the POV of the aliens are a nice addition to the story.
- Needs editing.

It just wasn't good. The quality of writing is about what you would expect out of a fourth grader.

It could have been so much more than it was. While it is the beginning of a series, I do not see myself reading the next book. Mr. Lowry has a lot of work to do if remaining an author is a desire of his.

Good

Many errors. Need to have an editor look over the book. Decent storyline. Could be a bit more liberal with the history of the attack on Mars.

Short review - great start to this series, quite fast-paced, strong characters, mystery, action, aliens, humanity struggling to survive.

great read with plenty of action and humor. Aliens take over Earth but they underestimated the human soul and now they will pay for it. Well worth reading

Great author! I didn’t realize how many of his books I’ve read and they were all great. Best New Year’s Eve plan - reading the rest of this series.

Beachhead is an intense first episode in this alien invasion series! I loved reading the exploits and adventures of the rebel force fighting against the evil aliens. Lt has a very unique personality and quirky but strong leadership qualities. His team follow him through some extreme situations and I see great potential for the rest of the series, which I plan to read on KU ASAP!

disclaimer: I received this ebook from the author and this is my honest and unsolicited opinion.
