Dark Angel's Surrender

"Honestly the best series I've read since Outlander."

"Wow!! What a series!! Heart thumping!! This paranormal series is EVERYTHING!!! This is the ultimate romance, fantasy, mind-blowing sex, mystery, everything you'll ever want in a paranormal book. My heartbeat speeds up, my pulse quickens, my breathing comes in gasps as I work my way through this work! I can't wait to get my hands on and my mind wrapped around each new installment. You'll fall in love with the characters! They are so well-developed with flaws and strengths that make them so very human but with also with special abilities that as humans you envy and wish you possessed. I can't say enough good about this series. You won't be disappointed!"

"Brundar and Calypso is definitely one of the most beautiful love stories. Tessa and Jackson is sweet and romantic. Two stories with traumatic events in their childhood and how it changes the life of those that suffer them. In one is Brundar and in the other is Tessa and how those that love them help them heal there wounded souls."

"Hooked!!! Over the last two months, I have read/listened to the entire series and have pre-ordered the next book! I haven't picked up another series during this time. Normally I listen to one series and read another. I could not put these books down.
I have never read any series like this one. I absolutely love that throughout the books you still hear what is going on with the previous characters. Instead of each book having its own story, it is more like one long story where new people get introduced as events happen. For me, this is the right balance of paranormal content. Nothing to crazy but just outside the realm of possibility.
I.T Lucas - please continue to write these stories for as long as possible. I am in love with all the characters and don't want to let them go.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Get ready for the heart pounding conclusion to Brundar and Calypso's story.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh God, Shawn was dead.

Callie still couldn't wrap her head around it, nor could she summon even a smidgen of sorrow or regret. After all, she had some memories with him that weren't horrible. She should've felt something. But there was nothing, not even shock. Not even horror at what had transpired over the last couple of hours.

Maybe it was a typical response for survivors--feeling euphoric for the simple reason that they were alive. Especially when that survival was nothing short of miraculous.

Brundar's cold hand closed around hers, reminding her that they weren't out of the woods yet. Her injuries were superficial, and the most she had to worry about was some scarring. But, despite his and Anandur's reassurances, Brundar might never walk again.

If he ended up crippled because of her, she would never forgive herself for getting him involved in her crap.

"Are you okay, sweetling? Are you in pain?" Brundar asked.

Her injuries were nothing compared to his, and yet he was concerned about her. God, she loved this man. The thing was, if she told him that, he would run off, or crawl away as was the case.

Hey, maybe this was the perfect opportunity to spring it on him.

Review of:
Dark Angel’s Obsession #14
Dark Angel’s Seduction #15
Dark Angel’s Surrender #16
I.T. Lucas’ Children of the God’s Series

Series catchup:
From the beginning of time there have been near immortal beings who have molded humanity, been the object of worship but who as a race almost destroyed each other and human civilization.
Now only two Gods are left both sworn enemies:
The followers of Morta, the Doomers and the descendants of the Goddess Annani.

The Dark Angel’s trilogy is the story of the Guardian Burndar and a human, Calypso. Brundar is not a stranger to readers but he is an enigma and his tragic past, aversion to being touched and need for kinky sex is finally revealed. Calypso (Callie) however is an open book and her openness and adventurous side is just what the dark brooding Brundar needs, even though he’d never admit it.
This series continues to wow me at every turn and Lucas keeps it fresh by adding new twists, new possible dormants both obvious and some readers don’t see coming. Her imaginative narrative, inventive continuing world building, fantastic side stories and scenes that are unbelievably believable propel the story. And of course there are her larger than life characters that rule every page.
This series is one that you must read in order.

SUMMARY:
Ever since the chance meeting when Callie and her husband Shawn tried to get into the sex club he co-owns, Brundar’s been obsessed with her and had a bad feeling about her husband. So he takes it upon himself to be her stealthy stalker protector. He can’t understand his fixation with this human woman, he only knows he’ll move heaven and earth to make sure she’s safe even if that means getting to know her personally and breaking a few of his, not getting involved, rules to do it.
Callie knows she made a mistake marrying Shawn, knows she needs to get out of this marriage because even though he’s never touched her she senses a darkness in him and she knows he’ll never let her go without a fight. She knows she needs help getting away and there just happens to be a tall dark and brooding, sex on a stick guy who may be able to help her.
Meanwhile back at the keep there’s a lot going on, the clan is trying to discover who is committing terrible murders, they need to learn if it’s a human pretending to be a vampire, or if it’s an immortal gone mad. The construction of the clan’s new village is under way and members are busy picking homes. Plus the continuing drama of Roni and Sylvia and Tessa and Jackson are unfolding at warp speed

Loved it!

Again another Amazing book! Very well written as usual 😉! I love Brundar and I'm so very happy he and Callie get to have their HEA❤💓😙! I'm a little worried about Jackson & Tessa, and Roni & Sylvia. Also BABY Phoenix transitioning with Annai is going to be very intriguing! I'm not sure I like where it's going with Turner but he will be amazing asset to the clan, if he doesn't force Kian to kill him first. Turner better mind his MANNERS!

This is a paranormal romance and is the sixteenth in the Children of the God series and the last in the Dark Angel trilogy. This trilogy starts with two tortured souls, moving to Calypso getting her healing. Now it is time for Brundar to get his healing on, both physical and mental. While he expects to lose everything, he gains more than he could ever dream of. Touching story, well done Ms. Lucas.

Awesome!

I downloaded the first book of this series by mistake. It has been one of the best books mistakes I have ever made in my life and I have been reading since the age of 5. I have even skipped some of my favorite new book releases just to read the next book in the series. I highly recommend it, is a must read!

Angel moves on

I am disappointed in this Book, much of it was just mundane reading the Books before this one! I had read approximately 80% before a mere change happened. What happened???? Sorry, the buck stops here!

Series is definitely getting better with all the extra characters being added, though the amount of books in series is almost out phasing me.

Another drawn out story…

Don’t get me wrong, this series is very good. But I’m starting to hate the way each couple’s story is drawn out over like 3 books or whatever.

The way Brundar kept dismissing the fact that Calypso could possibly be a dormant annoyed the hell out of me. He didn’t even try to consider it. As a Guardian he had all the information about affinity, special gifts etc to lean towards as a possibility. The little blurb at the end of this book about him just not believing in it because of Amanda’s fluke with Syssi and Michael doesn’t cover everything because, look at Nathalie and Tessa. They didn’t know Eva was an immortal for sure until a lot of brainstorming and actually finding her. But they were already attempting Nathalie’s transition. Tessa has no known special abilities, yet they thought she and the rest of Eva’s crew might be dormant due to Eva’s feelings that she was connected to them or that they were special.

On top of all of that, they don’t yet have a sure fire way to tell if someone is dormant. The only person that has admitted to feeling like they have ever been in love with a human was Kian. So the strong pull should be a sign for further “testing” like socializing with other immortals or potential Dormants.

Anyway, see my notes and highlights on Goodreads. Happy reading!

Dark Angle’s Surrender KU 311 pgs **** 7/7/21 Brundar & Cassie

4 stars. Still filler pages but not quite as many. Brundar & Cassie may be my favorite couple thus far. They were so opposite in everything, except their sex which was amazing by the way. It became harder and harder for Brundar to keep his true identity from Cassie that he often wondered if he should thrall her and let her go but she always seemed to pull him back in and keep him close to her. They finally got to their HEA by the end of the book but there is so much more to see of their future. Annani made an appearance for a short visit, I just love her, I wish she were in every book. Jackson and Tessa continued to get closer and he helped her put her past trauma’s behind her so she was able to be more of her old self. They were very young, he was only 18 but had the sole and heart of an older man. Roni was struggling with his new life outside the government prison he had lived in for so long. He still needed to find his place and still needed to transition, if he was ever going to. He began to doubt that he was actually a Dormant. I look forward to the next series of books. I enjoyed this one very much, it was hard to put down.

A beautiful story.

Lucas has once again weaved her magic in the world of The Children Of The Gods. In this episode we have two characters who have been abused and defiled as children.
Brundar is a taciturn warrior of great skill. His brother, Anandur, saved him as a child and has been by his side ever since. Brundar has taken himself away from the world by living in the zone, a state of mind where he feels nothing. So when he meets Callie he is unprepared for the feelings that she awakes in him. Callie is unhappily married and ends up getting a divorce and it is only then that Brundar allows himself to be known to her.
Tessa was taken as a child and made into a sex slave. Eva rescued her and has been like a mother to her since. The trauma that she went through has made her shy away from men, so when she finds herself attracted to Jackson it is a surprise. Jackson is an immortal and has a way with women but Tessa calls to his protective instincts. These two have slowly reached a point where Tessa realises that Jackson is sincere in his love and that she has feelings for him too.
Two couples who find their soul mates.
I loved this book.

Yeah! What a ride this was with Brundar and Calypso. Hot, passionate, steamy, kinky, fun, and chemistry. Brundar found his true love mate. Calypso was able to break down some of his barriers and loosen him up. Calypso is perfect for Brundar and accepts him whole heartedly.
I love that the girls = Amanda, Syssi, Bridget all get in on the action to help Brundar and check out Calypso. I love that Anandur truly has his brothers back and wants what is best for him and will sacrifice anything for his brother. You just can't help but love Anandur.
I always love when we get to see Jackson and Tessa's love evolve. They truly are a perfect match and their love is truly a love match made in heaven.
What a way to end this trilogy on Brundar. Happy endings all around. Annani certainly has a way with the clan and the new members. She is such a great Goddess and I hope we get to see more of her in future books.
Overall, this was a great trilogy of Brundar and Calypso's love story.
Can't wait to get on with the next one.

'Dark Angel's Surrender' concludes the story of Brundar and Calypso.

While I love Brundar's mystery and fierceness, I am less certain about the ease in which he allows Calypso into his life. The control he exerts to protect his true identity makes sense, but when his walls come down for her, everything happens at once, like a dam breaking. Also, not every human a clan member has an affinity for can be a dormant. That is not realistic. Someone has to have their relationship end and their heart broken. Not everyone can live happily ever after, so I am waiting for the other shoe to drop into reality. Question is, whose story will end tragically?

Spoiler:
In addition, when Brundar enters Shawn's house, I do not believe the sequence of events is likely. Knowing Shawn had Calypso and was likely to be armed, Brundar would not have used the front door. Also, Bringing knives to what he knew would be a gun fight was stupid. Brundar is a cold, calcualted warrior; he would worn a bullet proof vest, waited for Anandur, entered through the back door or garage, and both would have had a gun at the ready.

The Children of the Gods series has me hooked. I greatly enjoy reading each and every series on the individual characters within the clan and this series #14, #15, #16 was no different.

Of all of the books I have read within this series so far this 3 books did take me the longest to read though. Not for the lack of quality but to calm my mental state throughout the read. This story is a beautifully dark and powerful read between Brundar and Calypso and getting to the conclusion was such an emotional relief.

Please note that when starting this series, some facets of the story may be triggering to some readers. But the story is beautifully done and elicits the emotions necessary to bring the reader to care about not only the characters involved directly but the characters in the background.

I knew it!

Yep, another Dormant in the family...yay!! Brundar deserves to have someone like Callie, that loves him with warts and all. I want to know what's up with all of these Dormants appearing? Something is brewing that the clan may have to fight to keep their existence secret. Reading the excerpt for Turner, I don't like him from the first time his character was introduced. He's too arrogant and full of himself. With that said, I want to read what Turner is working with in terms of elite commando skills. I'd want to change my view about Turner.

THE. BEST. ONE. YET.

This part of the series, Brundar's story, has been the best part yet. I love Anandur... I'm totally in love with Brundar. Callie has remained a strong character, and I hope she never devolves into a whiny, wimpy woman. I also love the hint that there is something going on with the goddess Annani...

In my mind, Brundar's true love match is the best of them all (so far). He and Callie separately endured so much pain...his defining who he became...it was so sweet watching them come together.

On to the next book!

Addicting

Of your not addicted to this series yet, you will be after this book. This has so much more than just Brundar and Callie's story. The beloved Clan Mother makes another appearance and we hear more from some of our favorite characters as well. This book picks immediately up from the ending of the previous one. Nice lead into the next possible dormant as well, can't wait to continue on.

I enjoyed Brundar and Calypso's final book! While still focusing on the pseudo-BDSM aspects that are more than evident in their relationship, it also concentrated on how the romance continued to develop. Brundar, Mr. "I Don't Do Emotions" suddenly became the king of emotions: jealousy being the biggest one. It was fun to see him lose control. Lots of action in this installment, old friends pop in for visits and Tessa and Jackson have their moment....

Amazing storyline

I love this series. The characters in each set warm your heart. In all books there are good people that have to do bad things for a good reason but we love them besides this fact. Kian is true to this. He is strong and stubborn but still so loving. I can't wait for the next book.

Awesome!

I so enjoyed this series and cannot wait for the next book to be published. I get so wrapped up in these books that I totally block out the world around me and there is nothing that can break my concentration when I am absorbed in these books. I love to read and especially when I can immerse myself in a good book

5 incredible stars

There really are not enough words to describe my love for this series. I have been pulled into this world, as if I was one of the characters. I feel every joy, every tear. Things are really heating up. Two more transitions. A new love story to start. A peek into the past with the Clan Mother. I am so excited to see what is coming next.

Brundar and Calypso are my favorite couple so far! Being a loner myself I can identify with Brundar and his inner turmoil. However, Calypso provides the peace that allows Brundar to heal and become reconciled to his past. Brundar gives Calypso stability and love helping her to gain freedom from a bad marriage. Again I keep reading because I can't wait to see what happens next.

Great Book

Fabulous book, couldn’t put it down! Callie is the missing light in Brundar’s life but is she a dormant? Tessa is finally ready to take the last step with Jackson. Kian is driving everybody nuts with his cranky behavior. So who do you call? His mother, the Goddess!

This was a particularly good book in the series because it focused on Brundar and Callie. Brundar was always so sad and angry and introverted that you just wanted to have him find someone and be happy. I won’t give away any spoilers but the story will make you happy.

Oh my word!

Ms.Lucas is a genius at any story she concocts for the set. One after the other, I can’t seem to put her books down, till I read it all.
One powerful, sexy with lots of suspense, laughter is a given.
I love it all.

Addictive story

Still not keen on Brundar or Calypso but glad they got their HEA. Very happy for Jackson and Tessa. And more that she will grow a few inches. When the author describes the the height difference it’s very off putting.
