More action in the third instalment of The Naiad Chronicles!
As the fallen god regains power, Lokke himself joins the conflict in an effort to win complete control over the Seraph King’s Darkness. With New Year but a few months away, the pressure is on Paolini to find new ways of freeing the King Phoenix from its bonds, but despite his alleged Caller skills, he is unable to Call for answers from Naiaward.
Winter comes crashing down across the kingdom, creating a world of snow and ice that even the flames of the phoenix twins cannot thaw.
Yet another fantastic book in The Naiad Chronicles! Complete with some of the most lovable characters I've ever been lucky enough to meet, a beautiful magical land, and of course a detestable villain, Caller was just as epic as the first two books in the series. I enjoyed how the romance picked up a little bit in this book, but not so much that it was overwhelming to the rest of the plot. As these beloved characters (particularly Kuroi, Kiki, Paolini and now Angelo) went through more trials in this book than in the first two combined, there were several moments that left my heart racing, wondering if they'd be ok. And now that I have to wait for the fourth book, Guardian, to come out, I feel like I'll go crazy with the wait! So many loose ends, which I know will be perfectly tied up when the final book comes out, but Caller left on a positive, hopeful note, which much of the book had needed. Oh, fictional characters, why must you be so lovable?! My advice to any epic fantasy fan is to READ THESE BOOKS! I promise that you won't be disappointed.
