Magic broke loose, but the worst is yet to come.
“Provocative and engaging. A fast-paced, supernatural ride.” Michelle Fox, NYT Bestselling Author

A small group of Shifters sails south from Ushuaia, determined to assess what’s left of the world. A Vampire attack, a possessed priest, and a gateway to Hell mean fallout from the spell gone bad that pinned them in Ushuaia for years is far from gone.

Back on a ship again, Juan reconstructs what’s always been a comfort zone. The sea is the only life he’s ever known—if you don’t count the ten years he spent as a Vampire. His new magic, fueled by a bond with a mountain cat, brings its own set of challenges, but they pale in comparison with the white-hot need knifing through him whenever Aura is anywhere close.

A historian by trade, Aura deals in prophecies for her Shifter pack. Attraction for Juan ignited when they fought the Cataclysm, but she figures he left a string of broken hearts during his years as chief navigator on cruise ships. They have to work together. A self-indulgent affair could ruin everything. She does her damnedest to keep distance between them, but the ship’s not big enough to escape yearning for a future together.

Twisted: Bitter Harvest, Book 2
by Ann Gimpel
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Twisted is the highly anticipated book 2 by Ann Gimpel, and of course Twisted didn't disappoint it's everything you could possibly want to read . I expected it to be great after reading Deceived I knew that Twisted by Ann Gimpel would blow it out of the water. It’s a AWESOME Book. Ms. Gimpel always delivers a great book. However, the end needed a little something, I know that this is only the second book but I wanted more from Juan his name just says sexy to me. Not that Ann Gimpel didn't give it to you but I'm greedy I wanted so much more. The characters are everything that their name seems to suggest. And of course Aura is a historian by trade and she can prophesied to their little group. It's a time when you must say goodbye to sister and the author bought tears to my eyes because I felt their pain. Feeling their pain their sadness I really enjoy reading a book that pulls this kind of emotions from a reader and I don't want to forget heat in that's between the characters it feels so comfortable and blazing hot even for a night. The next thing that made the book enjoyable is the bad shifters which there's a few surprises which put me on the edge and there is new characters to contend with which I liked the characters – all of them, especially as Ketha and Victor characters are here and These two are still smoking hot together so with their chemistry is blazing hot and their antics will keep you smiling. There’s quite a lot of tongue in cheek humor in this book. Little quips about sex and old men who are willing to show these ladies what old men can still do, It's a lot of fun reading about the things they get into with the ladies. it's a great escape read and who could ask for anything more! I am eagerly awaiting the next book. I highly recommend this book and the series.

Juan was a chief navigator on cruise ships before the Cataclysm, he was captured turned into a vamp and after a group of shifters and vamps worked together he is no longer a vampire but a shifter with a mountain cat. He's attracted to Aura an historian, she's bonded with a mountain lion and deals with prophecies. It's been two months since their group escaped Ushuaia. Their group has two encounters with others proving the evil from the Cataclysm has not been defeated and they must work to learn their magic and how to overcome these new enemies. Lots of things going on with these survivors as they try to learn about being shifters and to work together and support each other. I would have liked more of the couple's story, there was some dangling storylines which I'm assuming will be resolved in future books.

I feel there were the same things that I didn’t like in the other book, but the same positives. This one is starting to get on my nerves with “the women” and “the men”. Not “the rest of the people on the ship”.

It’s good they’re pointing out these guys have to figure out their abilities, but far too often they actively exclude them when conferring about things. Like sure they’re in basic training pretty much, but they’re also accomplished and very grown adults. Make them part of the team.

Especially Daide and Recco. Other two guys are busy navigating (and why aren’t any of these ladies not being bothered to learn navigation when it’s vital to the ship? All apparently professors or other professionals so they’ve got aptitude.) These guys seem like they got time on their hands- let them see how you work so they can learn. Sure they may not have time to catch them up but people can learn a lot from observation (like the beginning of this book started doing).

That bothers me too about the other female shifters. They never give these “extras” much reference except that they’re there sometimes. Some have names. It’s even the five main women characters who are apparently always cooking? There’s 7 more women on this ship, what do they do? Not talk to the five female or four male protagonists apparently.

The plot is so well thought out, the world building is continuing at pace, but it just seems like the author can only flush out 2-4 characters at a time for each book and that’s a drawback for me.

Wow !!! Book 2 of the Bitter Harvest series is jam packed with unexpected surprises. It appears that the reversal spell was too late to safe the world outside of Ushuaia; as expected and hoped by the characters in Deceived (book 1). The group of shifters have sailed from port to check out other locations for survivors and they discover that unknown evil and horrors have spread. They must fight to save not only themselves, but those few they find along the way, maybe the rest of humanity as well. It appears that the "cataclysm" had the power to release such evil upon the world that soon it could be all that will be left. We will have loss of friends and loved ones, but among the sorrow, pain and desperation, love will also be found. There is not enough reading between the lines to give you the complete range of action and feelings within the pages of Twisted. You must get this book to continue on this journey to see what this small crew of fighters must overcome. If you have yet to start the journey, well don't wait a minute more.

WARPED CURIOSITIES. Twisted is the second book in the Bitter Harvest series. The book can be read as a standalone. But it would make more sense if you've read Deceived and it does end in a soft cliffhanger for the next book. There is violence and use of magic. The sex is hot and steamy so definitely 18+.

The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. The author did a great job of explaining what is going on in the world. This is not your typical vampire and shifter story...and now add other supernatural entities into the mix. The storyline will keep you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed next. It definitely kept me riveted. I look forward to reading the rest of this series. I received a copy of this book from the author and chose to leave a review for other readers.

Picks up just after book 1. The group of 12 shifter woman and 4 former Vampire now shifter men set sail to see what is still out in the world after the Cataclysm. After landing at their first destination, things go wrong. So much going on in this book, I thought just Vampires would be a problem...boy was I wrong. The men really have neglected learning about their new halves, and each resolves to find a way to correct that mistake. Juan teams up with Aura to learn more about his sifter side and the magic that comes with it. There is also a budding romance there, but is it wise to get involved with someone right now? Guess time will tell.

I loved every minute of this book! Even the unexpected sadness that was a shock, at least to me. I can't wait to read the next book, and see what happens for the group next.

The world has turned into a twisted mess. Aura is a cat shifter with magic. After being trapped on Ushuaia for 10 years since the cataclysm hit. Her 12 female shifter friends and 4 ex-vampire now turned shifter males are free and travelling on a ship called arkady to find out did anyone else make it.
Juan was a human changed vampire then changed cat shifter. He is very interested in aura. On the next port they make trouble his and they find out things might not be as simple as they had hoped. The world is full of evil.
This is an amazing story it's fast pasted and so full of mystery, twist and turns I just couldn't put it down. If your into amazing story that a movie could be made from, shifters and magic then you just found your new favourite book. I can't wait for the next book in this series to come out. Don't miss it.
Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.

4.5 First off this cover is kicking, I believe the youngsters say "dope" now. This is book 2 in the the Bitter Harvest series, I highly recommend reading book 1 first. Yes - you could read this without reading book 1, it is a standalone, but your experience would be enhanced if you read book 1 first. I would have to say this book expounds intrigue. Such a different take on vampires. There are shifters, demons and more. I appreciate the twists, the turns, and when things seem really tense. World building occurred in book 1, but it grows in book 2, and when it ends, your anxiously awaiting book 3.

I begged for an arc, was fortunate to receive, and I have chosen to provide my thoughts and experience on the book.

I really enjoyed book one so I was excited to see that book two is out and it didn't disappoint. All the main (likeable) characters are back, but this book follows Juan and Aura a new set of characters and their developing romance.

Fast paced this book has lots of action, twists and plenty of the unexpected.

I love getting more information about what it means to be a shifter and how it works between the person and the spirit animal. It was interesting and is worked into the story well.

The narration is excellent, the character voices are all well done and easy to tell apart. The delivery's pace and tone are a good match for the story.

Bring on book 3!

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Action, adventure, romance, surprises around every corner, emotional roller coaster, wonderful world building, incredible characters, these are some of the words I would use to describe this book. I think this story will appeal to urban fantasy lovers, paranormal romance, and dystopian lovers alike. They are all represented in this one. It is easy to lose yourself in the struggle to survive, the search for other survivors, and the threat of danger that doesn't always come from the direction you are expecting it to. This is a story that grabs your attention quickly, and it is difficult to walk away from until you finish the last page.

This second book in the Bitter Harvest series by Ann Gimpel continued to hold this reader's attention with its suspenseful action and adventure into the unknown by its main characters. Of course it involved the usual vampires and demons as some of the villains faced. The action is both physical and spiritual and magical. The author does start pairing off the shifters with the former vampire men, which lead the reader to foresee what some of the future books in this series might look like. I will definitely be adding them to my TBR file. This is a very late voluntary review of a free copy of this book.

This book continues from Deceived: Bitter Harvest Book One and it is terrific!

When the first book finished I thought.....NO! (Just a heads up, lol, if you don't like cliffhangers then wait for the 3 together)

I just have to say that you just never know where this is going, what they are going to face or how/if they overcome it! It is a real rollercoaster and just pulls you along for the ride. You can feel yourself recoiling with them or sighing with relief.

I just can't wait for book 3!

Hurry up Ann!

If I knew nothing about the author I would still buy this book on the cover alone. **swoon** I have read several books by Ann Gimpel and she constantly opens up new worlds, different twists on the paranormal vampire, shifter, magic etc. You should come along for the ride! I requested an Arc and offered to review. This is Book 2 in the Bitter Harvest series, and I highly recommend reading book 1 first. You will feel like you went to Disneyland for adults with the twists, turns, and the world her Bitter Harvest takes place in. There is of course, romance, and some steam:)

Doesn't leave you hanging or wanting but takes you right into this gem. The author will get you twisted with emotions with what she gives us in this. This also centers around Juan and Aura. If not careful their parts alone can make you sweat at times from what is growing. Shifter and magic is strong in this so it feeds that craving when you are reading. Netherless you tear through this seeing what she has in store in the adventure side of things. She also has a surprise in store for the reader that grabs you. When you've turned the last page you have been given her best.

This is an adventurous tale of the sometimes treacherous journey of a group of friends. The battle they are waging together against evil is real. It is amazing to me how the author can write such an all-consuming plot, as the characters learn to understand their unique gifts so does the reader. The romance sweetens the pot a little but the main focus here is their struggle to right a world that the creatures of Hell has overtaken, their sacrifice and compassion is great considering humankind rejects paranormals' yet they continue to fight. Very intense, action-packed story.

I haven't listened to the first in the series, but I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook! I know I'd have benefited more from starting with Book 1, and I enjoyed this one so much I'm going to go grab the first one :) I'm a fan!

It's fun, action-packed, and very entertaining. Fun characters, and I really enjoyed the narration as well.
Definitely worth a listen, and I'm glad I did!

The book was good but not as exciting as the fist book in the series. It had good moments that would keep you reading. But all and all it was worth reading. I am looking forward to the next book. Thanks Ann.

The ongoing  apocalyptic series where the world  had been  caught  by a magical spell, corrupted  that unleashed evil all over the globe.

Book one, "Deceived" saw one environment  affected  and how a group  of  witches  and vampires  banded together,  in an attempt  to  correct the original  corruption  in the first spell.

This  book  see the same  group  looking  at the world  beyond  what they had lived within  for the past 10 years.  Had the recreation  spell corrected  the problem  across  the  globe,  or only in the insulated settlement.

The drama is ongoing,  as is the relationship between  the  various  players in the group.

I  cannot  wait, now that  I  have  completed  this book,  to know  what happens  next.

I  voluntarily submitted this review after reading an advanced copy of this book.
