I saw the man of my dreams once across a crowded restaurant. But then he disappeared. A year later I’m still dreaming about him and what might have been. And though we’ve never met, I know in my heart when I find out James is in trouble there is nothing I won’t do to save him.
I knew she was meant to be mine the first time I saw her. But I missed my chance. Now I’m scarred and alone, barely living on dreams of all the things that might have been. When Della comes to me, I know in my heart that I will never let her go again. Even if letting her go is what’s best for her.
I can still see the man I wanted to know under the scars, and I want him to let me in.
Her light shines to me like a beacon, calling for me to be the man I used to be.
Finding our way to each other is the most important thing we will ever do. Nothing can stand in the way our love. We were meant to be.

When fate is meant to be, and with a little help from Thomas Meenan, two souls are perfectly aligned. Delicious is beautifully written with a cover that completely shows the tale of this story. I absolutely love Della’s strength and persistence to achieve the things she sets out to conquer. Cybill Cain continues to hold the title of ‘All Time Favorite Authors’! I can’t wait to see what’s next!
This book is short and sweet, just to sit in front of the fireplace and fall in love with the sexy characters. It is so cozy and tender, a good Christmas reading.
Este libro es corto y dulce, apenas para sentarte frente a la chimenea y enamorarte de los sexys personajes. es tan acogedora y tierna, una buena lectura navideña
Loved this story a lot! Della & James are perfect for each other! This is a great Beauty & the Beast tale, and the way Della gets through to James is ... delicious. ; )
p.s. Tony needs to find his lady love!! *swoon* : )
Della Martin was working as head chef for the day at a Lemonde, a trendy uptown New York restaurant, while the current head chef was out on leave. She was asked to go see Table Twelve as they would like to give compliments to the chef for their dinner. Table Twelve was known as the IT table and all of the movers and shakers sit at that particular table. While making her way over she, notices a gorgeous man sitting at the table, but before she was able to meet him, a comotion ensued which prevented her from meeting her guest. Later that evening, the man she was supposed to meet, James Draven, was in a terrible car accident which left him horribly scarred. Della never forgot about him though and she would often have dreams about him wondering what might have happened if they ever did meet that night one year ago. When an opportunity arises to become James’ personal chef and muse in Switzerland, she decides to take the offer.
James Draven was not the same man he was a year ago. After his accident, he became a recluse, never leaving his home in fear of people looking at him in disgust. He didn’t even want to look at himself, so why would he subject other people to the same fate he wished to avoid. His life has become meaningless. He turned grumpy and emotionless, a far cry from the man he used to be. His only saving grace was the dreams he would have of the most perfect woman he had met a year ago. Dreams that left him wanting and needing things he does not think he deserves to have. James feels that he is unlovable and that no one will ever see him as the man he really is underneath all of his scars.
Little did James or Della know that both of their lives were about to change once they meet again.
I have always loved Beauty and the Beast ever since I was a little girl. In fact, it may have even been one of my favorite Disney movies of all time. So, it comes to no surprise that when I read the blurb for DELICIOUS, I knew I had to read James and Della’s story. What came as a shock was the emotional impact that it would have on me. Cybill Cain has such a way with words that really make you feel for her characters and she makes her characters come alive in such a way that you can feel your heart breaking for them. James and Della’s story is simply moving and sends such a powerful message about learning to accept yourself regardless of things that you can not change. James was still the same confident, strong, and sexy man he was prior to his accident and it takes Della to make him realize he is still very much a man capable of love and to be loved. The power to heal someone from the inside and outside is a message that is expertly weaved through the pages of this story.
DELICIOUS is a heart-warming story just perfect for the holiday season. Cybill Cain really knows how to pull on the heart-strings in a perfect tale that should not be missed by anyone. If you are looking for the perfect read with a deeper meaning then make sure you pick up a copy, sit back with a nice cup of hot chocolate and immerse yourself in James and Della’s story.
Delicious is a sensual, evocative re-creation of Beauty and the Beast, along with a little fairy tale magic and a yellow brick road journey where Dorthy finds her way home with her Tin Man by her side. And have no doubt - it is oh, so delicious! This book is everything that an outstanding erotic romance should be, one where the physical intimacy serves to accentuate the melding of two souls destined to be together forever and far transcends any physical or emotional bond. Anguishingly beautiful in the telling, a stunning, innately kind and compassionate woman helps a fatally broken and scarred man learn to see the goodness and beauty she sees and loves in him. He, in turn, takes the orphaned, insecure little girl inside her into the heart he thought he had lost to make it her forever home.
The advance copy I read of this book is my first by this author, and she managed to shatter my heart, forever imprint my soul with these characters, and carefully, wonderfully, exquisitely piece everything back together. Yes, it’s hot and steamy, but so, so much more. Lovely imagery, touching characters, poignant symbolism and a vast expanse of emotion make for an unforgettable read that you won’t want to miss!
This was an easy to read, turbo-charged, over the top Beauty-and-the Beast style book.
James and Della spy each other across a restaurant but circumstances conspire against them and they never get to meet. That same night, James is involved in a horrific car accident that leaves him scarred. Scarred enough for him to remove himself from his previous life and live in seclusion.
In a last ditch attempt to bring James back into the world of the living, his work colleagues collude to finally bring him and Della together. And what better way than stranding them together in a snowy chalet during a storm with no way out?
Everything in this book is fast and amplified; the instalove, the sex, the situations and the characters backstories. And it all works very well. Even though it’s a quick read, the characters are sufficiently developed. James and his Della ‘Delicious’ are made for each other.
Delicious is an escapist fantasy that’s perfect for those who prefer their holiday themed reading to come with lots of spice.
THE POWER OF LOVE What a wonderful love story!!! Della and James: Della grew up to be an extraordinary, compassionate, thoughtful and loving person despite her being an orphan and never getting adopted. She put herself through culinary school and excelled. James had seen her at the restaurant where she worked but they did not have a chance to meet. James a billionaire had everything going for him until that fatal night he crashed and all his dreams were taken from him and he became a recluse. The story chronicles how a year later they were reunited and the struggles James and Della went through to get James back his self confidence. A heartwarming story of difficulty. tragedy and love. A must read. I voluntarily received an Advanced readers copy of this book from Exclusive ARC.
Della Martin was working as a chef where James was having dinner. She was supposed to meet him that night, but fate stepped in and ruined that plan. That same night James crashed his car and almost died from his injuries. Instead of death, he was severely scarred and became a recluse for a year until Thomas Meenan, his assistant, convinced Della to be his cook while the rest of the staff was on a month long vacation.
This is a heart warming story about overcoming tragedy to have a happy ending.
I voluntarily reviewed an Exclusive ARC of this book.
Arc provided by author for honest review. Wow cybill you are killing it with this series it just gets hotter and hotter. Jame's wow he truly does have a good heart. And he may some scars but he is gorgeous inside and out. And damn I love his demanding alpha attitude and personality. Della I liked her from the start. He can handle herself and others when she needs to. And I love her confidence definitely one beautiful Christmas story!
I read the ARC of this book and it was well-written and had great characters. Thomas Meenan gets James and Della together after a missed first encounter for a secluded time in Switzerland after an accident James had. I'll loved how they related to each other during this time. This is definitely a must read if you like steamy sweet romance with HEA endings.
This is not my first read by Cybill and most definitely not my last! Delicious is very Delicious! Loved this story with James & Della, they just connect with what they both went through and the love they have with together! Awesome ending, l hope we hear more about these two!
I like Cybill Cain stories, each one is so different from the others. This time we meet two characters in need of healing. Della had not an easy past as an orphan but she managed to become what she wanted, a chef in a top rated restaurant. Alas after one evening when all was amazing, she was receiving compliments from patrons, she became the target of her jealous boss. James is more than a successful businessman, this same evening he was bewitched by the sexy chef, but an ugly car’s accident stole his opportunity to meet her. One year later, they are both in a deep depression, Della doubting her cooking talents, James hiding from the world because of his scared body. The storyline is about how they will rekindle the flame they felt this evening, and accept to trust each other. Della has a hard job coming with James so afraid of seeing revulsion in people look, how makes him understand, she is at home with him, the little girl with no real home and him, the man with his heart buried deeper in him. It is a beautiful story of acceptance, a kind of fairytale to understand love can be a cure to many wounds. I’m a verified customer on amazon.fr
Cybill Cain has done it again! James and Della's story was so wonderful. I laughed, I cried, I fell in love! Such strong and amazing characters, you fall into their world and never want to leave! As you read more of The Chimera Club series, Ms. Cain just continues to blow you away!
Let me start off by saying that I'd never heard of Cybill Cain 2 months ago. Or even 1 month ago. I happened upon her first book, Poker Face, and liked it. Then I read Haunted, and liked that. Now, I'm onto Delicious and I'm not sure I can do this story justice. I've read the other reviews and I'm scratching my head. Maybe my personal experiences spoke to me too loudly while I was reading this book, but my take on it is that this is the kind of love every single one of us wants in our lives. All consuming, love at first sight, never-ever-leave love. This book made me laugh and cry, in various places throughout. I loved it when Della knew she was being watched and tried to get him to surrender and come to her. I felt her sorrow in my bones when he was afraid. But more importantly, I felt an emotional connection with the fictional characters, and I'm not sure how any one else feels, but when I feel that connection, it means the author has gone above and beyond to write a book that is beyond good. This book took me places I'd forgotten about. Cybill wrote a story that could have been the setting for tragedy. This was the most joyous book I've read in a long time. It made me feel happy in the end; glad to see these two get together and stay together. I know its fiction, but fiction is escape. I read a lot of books in the course of a year and I have a list of "go-to" authors that are always in the front of my Kindle. Cybill Cain joined that list (and she's up there with Patterson, King, Brown, Red Phoenix, Scarlett Avery, and Victoria Vail - you see, I don't read just indie authors, the Big Five get my time too). Because she was able to spin a story that held my interest through every page, because the story was worth the telling, and the happy ending was definitely worth it, this book deserves far more praise than just a five star rating on Amazon. But since I'm not able to do more than that, Cybill forgive me, but you'll just have to settle for five stars and know that they all have tails to them (like Ebay) and I'm mighty glad you decided to become a writer.
I really could keep going on this review. I could rant about how certain millennials have reviewed this book as having too much sex, or even having graphic sex at all. I think they're embarrassed by it, and I, in turn, am embarrassed that this country is so prudish that we would be embarrassed by sex. Its a natural part of human life, but when it is used in the furtherance of love, it is an astounding writer's tool. And yes, there ARE stories out there that go overboard, this is NOT one of them. I've read reviews that said this was too slow moving. Just remember the song, Slow Hand, and you'll see why I like it that way. :-0 Kudos, Cybill, you wrote what I would consider one helluva good book!
[This is an ARC Review and may contain spoilers] Good read! I was suprised by the way the sex scenes were handled. A lot of times I worry that the amount of scenes could take away the essence of the story. However the sex here was apart of it and just when I was like "okay this might be too much. They haven't even gotten to know each other yet." or "They haven't gotten to know much yet." My questions get answered. This is definitely what I would see as love at first sight. They learned and got through the really dark things about each other, but they still have a lot to learn.
I truly enjoyed this book. It hit all the emotions - anger at some incidents and anxiety at others. And the ending makes you feel satisfied and happy at the way it turned out. I haven't read this author before, but I will definitely do so again.
Absolutely loved this story. Very interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Exclusive Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! I am a huge fan of the instant connection/instalove stories! Della and James were perfect! You instantly love them both, and I also loved all of the supporting characters - the flying monkeys! =) This was a five star read for sure!
Delicious is a sweet and steamy love story that will warm your heart. Della and James's story is romantic and hot! Great writing by Cybill Cain. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I received an Exclusive ARC of this book and am leaving my honest review. Great story with great characters. Della & James almost meet, but life intervened. A year later, will their reunion be worth the wait?
I was apprehensive about this book and then I started it and that went away. I love the story of James and Della! The sex scenes are on fire hot hot hot!! I plan re read it again because it is such a good hot read!
I wish this story had been about the characters and less about the sex they had. For my taste it was too focused on descriptions of the sex act and not enough on the story. Rather monotonous for me.
DNF @ 71% Such potential that had me hooked but once the two mains got together the dialogue consisted of schmaltzy cliched drivel and never ending sex scenes. 2*eye rolling*stars
