Being the teenage daughter of a serial killer is fun—except when digging graves. Thankfully Misty has Bitsy to help her. Plus her daddy pays her with gift cards that she uses online to order things like books, video games, and new outfits to dress up Bitsy with, so really she can't complain. Now if her daddy would just teach her how to drive, life would be perfect.

This book gave me such a read-gasm* that I had to smoke an imaginary cigarette.
*READ-GASM: A chemical reaction which occasionally happens in the brain of an avid reader where endorphins are released to make the recipient want to bounce around and clap hands energetically, resulting in spontaneous optimism about the future and random statements like "Fuck yeah!" being uttered, usually making those around the reader very uncomfortable. You know, like an orgasm, but with less face pulling.
Have you ever had a read-gasm? If the answer is no, I hope you don't suffer from read-potism**...
**READ-POTISM: A severe condition where some readers are overly critical, to the point where no stories can be enjoyed without negative comments about them. Fortunately, this condition can be cured with medicine (especially the new pill called Givemeafuckingbreak), intense therapy and pulling the stick out of their asses.
Having said that - Very well done, Mr. Malmborg! I did not see that twist coming and it kind of blew me away. More please!
Right, let's get some perspective. This story is about a sick, vile subject matter - it is not meant for sensitive readers and it has a lot of triggers - but the take on it was totally fresh and creative. How many stories do you know where the serial killer dies close to the beginning?
But this story is not really about the killer, yet it is totally about what the killer has done to his daughter. Misty knew nothing else, nothing normal. Bitsy was raised to be her toy, nothing more. When a tornado causes destruction in the town of Smallwood, it catches the killer, Misty, Bitsy and the latest abducted schoolgirl, flipping their van and setting into motion one of the most horrific days this small town can ever experience.
I know I am being vague, but damn, I want you to experience this story like I did.
3.5 Gripping horror thriller is VERY dark and twisted. Almost too much. Plot is good though. It’s an original concept and works well placed against the backdrop of a tornado aftermath. Good storytelling, somewhat unpredictable, and the contrast between styles of “normal” characters and the monstrous Daddy’s Girls is effective. There are times when it’s a little stomach churning in a bad way though, some of the sexual violence goes just a little too far, or skirts the line a little too much. But otherwise, much better than I expected. Would make a good movie if it wasn’t patently unfilmable.
Couldn't even finish this perv fantasy it was so bad
Read a previous book of his and while it was a bit warped, it was written well and had a story. This was just like he was too busy getting his rocks off thinking about it to bother.
3 stars audio 1 star story. I didn't realize that I'd already read another book by this author that I absolutely hated as well. Based on this book and the other book, this author is really into brutal teenage rape. I need to remember to avoid wasting anymore money and time on his books. Writing is amateurish and chaotic as fuck.
This is the fourth book I've read by William Malmborg and although I'm not quite sure if I should admit (out loud) that I couldn't put it down...but...I couldn't put it down. I shouldn't have started reading it a few days ago knowing that I only had a few minutes. This afternoon, I started over and stayed up until I found out how it ended!
Daddy's Little Girl is disturbing, to say the least, and that's a good thing for those of us who like to be disturbed! This story is dark, extremely descriptive and graphic, and has well developed characters. I wasn't really sure who to root for because the two main characters are both screwed up in the head (no spoilers), so I just sat back and enjoyed the horror unfold.
If you enjoy stories involving sociopathic kidnappers/serial killers and explicit scenes including torturous conditions, this may be your next favorite read! You just never know what evil things the most trusted and unsuspecting people do behind closed doors!
Seriously, YIKES. Sexual sadism in "mystery" form. I don't care how people get their rocks off, but the lovingly detailed scenes of torture and kidnapping and homicide and accidental death got less shocking and more tedious the longer the book went on. Plot - 0 Author's ability to pretend torture open is a plot -2 I need to go wash out my brain.
This was a decent read. There were a few shockers along the way, as there usually are in Malmborg's works. The premise was interesting: a tornado exposes a serial killer and his current victims. But the serial killer has a daughter, and the daughter has a play toy of her own... Things get thrown out of kilter when the storm derails their travels.
The writing and dialogue is good, and reminds me in some respects of the stream-of-conscience dialogue and thoughts in Richard Laymon's writing. It was a quick read and was entertaining. Good characters, though I would have liked more focus on the storm chasers throughout. It seemed to start with them and then switch to others, though they did appear off and on. Good horror read.
A dark, disturbing, detailed story about a serial killer. I usually don't read books that are dark or disturbing like this but I liked the book cover. The characters are well-thought out and the story line is solid in my opinion.
This book gave me the general feeling of being unwell. It resulted in multiple nights of unpleasant dreams, yet I couldn't stop reading. So, job well done. I'd say more, but I don't want to give any of the plot away. The author did a great job of giving the reader all the info we needed to piece things together without telling us directly. I am both glad and mildly upset that I read this book. If that appeals to you, this is a must-read.
This was a crazy story but missing some things at the end. I wanted to see how Lindsey and Katie coped with what happened. Lindsey’s father was not only shot in the head but gutted by something. Where did Lindsey end up living? Also, what happened to her boyfriend? That was totally left out. How did Katie end up doing knowing everything that happened? Overall though it was a crazy book. Sick things for those teens to have to go through, that’s for sure. The man definitely did not get what he deserved, just dying in the twister. He deserved so much more and the families deserved more justice. All that was left were two victims that were victims in a different way. It was graphic in the way that they didn’t shy away from telling you what was going on. It made you definitely feel mixed feelings on Mitsy. She will live the rest of her life institutionalized but how could she ever change? I don’t think she can.

I have so many questions!?! Well done! Captivating story about so many topics i can't name them... This story is incredible but be warned. Trigger warning!!!
Another tremendous read by Malmborg!! Such a twisted tale and it didn't go in the direction I thought it would which was a nice surprise. I'll absolutely be reading every William Malmborg book I can get my hands on. 5/5 skulls 💀
Brilliantly written with twists that will have you aghast! If you want a quick read then this is the one, not because its short, you just won't be able to put it down.
Loved this book for the most part. It starts getting really good and suspenseful and I have to give it a 4/5 for the plot alone.
I only have a few complaints and they mainly revolve around loose ends like: 1. Did Katie ever end up getting to have her dream job of the FBI after this ordeal? 2. WHO IS BITSY? Her character was my favorite; she was very layered and complex but we never know: who was her mother, where did she come from? How did she become Misty's toy? 3. Did Ramsey and Tess actually capture and footage of their escapades that night? Did they get to sell any to help replace the car? No other info about them. 4. End of the book just says "Bitsy was taken away" never told where too. 5. Why in the hell was Misty allowed to stay at a group home thing when she killed like 5 people(including her mother)????? Hell maybe more

This is one of those books that trying to explain what it’s about is so hard because you don’t want to I’ve anything away. Basically it’s about the daughter of a serial killer and how he makes her help him. TW would include child abuse and SA. It’s been a while since I’ve read it, but it was an incredible, shocking book with some good twists. For those of you looking for disturbing books and have now triggers, this is a good one for you!
Well this book will hold many triggers and is not for the faint of heart. I liked the story and gasped when a certain part was revealed. It is a heartbreaking look into abuse and how some victims relate to their captive. It was a nice look into the mind of the victim although we will never know if that's how they really think.
I've made it a point to check out as many new authors as I can this year. I stumbled across this gritty little gem about an Illinois town, a dead serial killer and the mess he left behind. William Malmborg really grinds things out in this twisted tale.
That was messed up. Poor Bitsy. Would have liked to have known more about Misty and how she became involved in all of that. I did enjoy reading the book.
William Malmborg is a solid writer. I read a few books by him in quick succession some time ago starting with Jimmy, which is unforgettable. This book I was not aware of until recently and it delivers. A storm brings a group of divergent people together, including a storm chaser, FBI agent and a serial killer's daughter along with her plaything. Not for the faint of heart as you see if you follow reviews here. I did not find anything so shocking here, meaning something that would preclude a lover of the genre to shy away, but there was enough violence and gore along with story to make the ride worth while.
I finished this last night and decided to sleep on it before writing up a review.
To start this review off I have a PSA: Men should not be writing about female victims. This book left me feeling uncomfortable and dirty. It became a male's fantasy of dramatic torture porn.
I read the premise and was really eager to begin reading. I loved the opening but it went all downhill from there. Several characters and moments were highly unnecessary and the whole book is set in one day after a tornado hits. I was eager for Misty's and Bitsy's recovery, to dive into the grey area between right and wrong but, as I stated above, this just turned into torture porn.
This book has absolutely no redeeming value whatsoever.. the people that gave it a decent rating must be very naive because this book has no characters that you get invested in, it's not well written and it's only value in my humble opinion is it would be something a pedophile would like to read to get their rocks off.. disgusting book that should never have been published and this author must be some kind of creeper because this isn't the first book He's written like this.. his book Jimmy is also about some pervert that does creepy things to girls
A definite page turner. I never knew what to expect next. I couldn't put the Kindle down, even taking it to the bathroom with me. I know the author, William Maimborg ask not to give any spoilers in the reviews so I won't but wow it's really hard not to make any comments, especially towards the end. I hope readers complied to the author's wishes but in case people like to spoil the outcomes for others, I didn't read any reviews prior to reading the book.
