The complete first installment of the Bruins' Peak Bears stories. Books 1-5 now with an extra Book 0 backstory!
Book 0: Lily The year is 1885, and the dusty little town of Iron Bark is just a stage stop on the vast frontier. Lily Cunningham steps off the coach to find a strange man greeting her. Luther Campbell is dapper, rich, and definitely interested in her, but Lily senses something sinister about him from her very first glance. He confirms her suspicions when he refuses to intervene when ruffians attack an innocent mountain man in the street right in front of her. Lily has no choice but to intervene herself.
She finds herself drawn to Jude Farrell in spite of his rough clothing and his unpolished manners. When she meets him again in town, sparks fly and romance blooms. Luther Campbell isn’t happy to lose Lily’s attentions, though, and he sets about making their lives as difficult as possible. In no time, a web of danger, mystery, and competing passions sweep Lily into an unknown world where nothing is what it seems. Can she find her way to a brave new future, or will the frontier’s many dangers overcome her and destroy all her hopes and dreams?
Book 1: Star Star Cunningham is a Bruin princess who can make any man weak in the knees, with a temper to match. She can’t stand listening to her father and brothers talk non-stop about the feud raging across Bruins’ Mountain between the Cunninghams and the rival Farrell tribe. Every Bruin in the territory gets pulled into the bloodbath somehow. Star can only escape to her favorite look-out on Bruins’ Peak, but when she gets there, she finds her bench occupied by Brody Farrell.
Brody is muscular, powerful, and certain of his right to claim the Peak as his own. He represents everything Star hates about this feud, but when Star flies in a rage at him, he stands up to her as no one else has ever dared to do. While they’re calling each other names, she lets slip the secret that her father wants to marry her to the son of the Kerr tribe to seal an alliance against the Farrells.
Now what did she have to go and do that for? Will Brody betray her secret to her blood enemies, or can these two dynamic forces find a romance that can blossom in the midst of mayhem?
Sarah J. Stone brings you the best of paranormal romance. Get ready for thrilling, hot, adventures with happily ever after endings and no cliffhangers.
11/19/2017- I am 22% done with it and all of a sudden in "Harmony on Bruins' Peak" there are all kinds of typos and rather OTT language, almost as if this part was written by a different person.
********************* 11/22/2017- I finished the "Bruins' Peak" part of the book, but just couldn't get into the "Witch Academy" Box set. While the concept of "Bruins' Peak" was very interesting,
the execution just wasn't there for me. Between the typos and the rather "blue" language that went on for page after page, I felt like I was slogging through someone's first attempt at writing a series. I honestly don't see how anyone could give this a 4* rating, as I've seen other reviewers have.
So the stories/plots were pretty decent but it's not written very well in my opinion. The romance scenes are honestly pretty terrible. I was either super confused during them or laughing at the wording used to describe what was going on. I guess it's enough for some people but not for me. However, as I said before I so like the concept which is probably why I'm going to read the next box set since I get it free with kindle unlimited...definitely not because of the love scenes (which there is basically only 1 in each book)
If you love paranormal romances then you need this box set! I read all the stories separately, but having them all together is the absolute best. This set has everything you could want in a shifter romance set. Alpha males, strong-minded females, hot chemistry, wonderful support characters, and tons of excitement. I loved it!
Of course I loved the stories about the Bruins bear shifters and all the adverse feeling some of the town folks that they should be eliminated. But the next series about a magic academy where Maestro and the Tiro who they train in the magic. Both series in this book are a great read and highly recommend. It!
This series of a colony of werebears is started in this collection of books by Sarah J Stone. You will meet the people that live on Bruins Peak and their back stories. Plenty of action, mystery, romance, and erotica. Adult readers due to sexual and violent content.
This is a great box set if you haven’t already read them when they came as single books. Fantastic to find out how the bears came to be on Bruins peak. I love these bears and would recommend. Voluntarily reviewed this advance copy
You out did yourself with this set and can't wait to read your second set. I'm waiting for an amazing adventure through Bruins Peak. Thank you again Cherie A Harlow
I tried to read this but found it was too all over the place to hold my attention. The editing was not very good which distracted me a lot. I don't want my review to change anyone else's opinion or put you off reading this.
I love a good shifter series. sadly, this one not so much. To me they were a tad amaturish. The stories seemed to have been concluded but then there were a lot of things left open ended. Sadly even the love/sex scenes were bad. :( Read at your own risk.
This series is well written and develops the characters. What these stories lack is a conclusion. It also fails to take in previous characters personalities when the author reintroduces them back into the series later on. These elements are essential for a series like this one.
I found parts of these stories to be good, but lines like "sprinkled dewy droplets of her elixir over the delicious leaves between her legs" made me roll my eyes so hard that I got a headache. I finally just started skipping the sexual encounters so as to lessen my dependence on the aspirin.
The box set starts in 1885 with the original Bruins of Bruins' Peak, and then moves into modern times with the stories of various Bruin clans that now occupy the mountain. Many of the stories overlap and the clans intermingle. There is even a Hatfields versus McCoys type fued that no one remembers the reason for. I didn't hate the books, but I didn't love them.
