The murder of Trent Preston, a very successful and well-known businessman, leaves his playboy son, Tyler, completely devastated. Tyler soothes the pain of his father’s loss with alcohol and a long line of women, and he vows never to love again.
Then Tyler meets Jamia, an attractive young woman who happens to be an amateur detective. The attraction between them is undeniable. But will Jamia give Tyler the answers he's been looking for? Or will her investigation only raise more questions?
Read Tyler’s Plaything and watch as Tyler and Jamia embark on a steamy hot whirlwind romance that changes the course of each of their lives.
I voluntarily read an arc of this book for a fair and honest review. It’s sort of difficult to root for a boy/man with little to no redeeming social value. Tyler doesn’t like to work. He just likes to reap the benefits of being the son of a rich family. The fact that his father was brutally murdered takes a back seat to Tyler trying to fob off his work to his father’s partner so he can hang out in his onesie, play video games and eat pizza. Jamica who does have a work ethic surprises me when she goes from little to no interest in Tyler to suddenly wanting to go out with him because his father’s murder intrigued her. Who are these people? We do learn that Jamica wants to go to the police academy ergo her interest in Tyler but I was hard pressed to finish this book. Tyler’s attitude was a turnoff for me. I want to read about men not boys and Tyler was an overgrown child.
Tyler is a rich playboy instead of taking over the family business when his father is murdered he shuts it down to continue partying, Jamia is the exact opposite of Tyler and has a strong work ethic. She's intrigued by Tyler's father's murder and starts spending time with Tyler because of it. Jamia has nothing to do with her father because he is a criminal and just so happens to be a suspect in the murder of Trent Tyler's dad. Tyler meets when he comes to the bar she works at and gives her his number. Things progress pretty quickly and the start having sex until her father learns about it and things go very badly. Will Jamia and Tyler survive the fallout?
This was a good quick read. The story is well written and moves at a fast pace. The heat between Tyler and Jamia can't be extinguished with just one time together. I really enjoyed reading this.
I received a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.
There is Tyler who is a rich playboy and doesn't take life seriously. When his father is murdered, instead of taking the reins of his family business, he shuts down and just continues to party out of control. Then there is Jamia, who has a strong work ethic. She is an amateur detective and is intrigue to find out who murdered Tyler's father. She doesn't have a relationship with her father because he is a criminal. Can these two opposites really attract? When her dad finds out she is seeing Tyler, things go bad quickly. Will they be able to survive it? Does her Dad have something to do with Tyler's Dad's death? You'll need to read the book to find out.
I voluntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy of this book.
This was a short novella that was a hot and steamy read. Well written with likeable characters. Tyler, a rich playboy was devastated when his father was murdered. This brings him into contact with Jamia, a wannabe detective. Their relationship changes both their lives and they have incredible chemistry. I read an advance copy and voluntarily chose to review this book.
I received an ARC of this ebook and I am voluntarily leaving a review. At first Tyler was childish in behaviour and conversations. It got better during the story and I loved the hot scene between him and Jamia halfway! Although too short for much details or developments I liked the fact it was a mystery.
Loved all the chaos going on. His father dies and he goes wild. She is the daughter of his rival who happens to be in the mafia. She doesn't want anything to do with it. She meets him where he works and they have a wild time. Read on from there for lots of excitement and emotional situations. I recommend it. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
Short Sexy and successful I volunteered an ARC of this book, Natasha has nailed it with bring romance into an investigation of a crime. All characters of the book has been portrayed perfectly. A coming of age story for the male's lead Tyler and successful interrogation for Jamia. An complete package.
It was a nice story. I did not know it was a short story so i found it going really fast but seeing now here on Goodreads it's only 88 pages short , i understand. And it was a good read. I enjoyed reading it.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Tyler's Plaything is a good read. The story was interesting and exciting. The characters were great. I liked them. Well worth the time and very well written.
I voluntarily review an Advanced Reader Copy of this book
It's a typical book, rich guy and an over working girl. This book is dull but at times it have gotten interesting. Tyler is just on overgrown child but, it seem like this girl making him change for the better. Jamia is a girl wants to become a cop. When Tyler stop by her job and he stated his full name, the next day she seen a paper of Tyler last name. But only wanted to see him because she wants to practice solving a case
2.5 Received an ARC for an honest review. Good plot, but stilted delivery Like reading the newspaper or magazine article. Felt no connection between Tyler and Jamia. Seemed more like she agreed to be with him just for the ride of finding out the mystery. Tyler is a playboy we know what he was wanting from the get-go. But Jamia only come around to his flirting when she found out he was the son of a murdered man and the case hadn't been solved ..her in voice she loved that it wasn't solve..so she could play spoof and decided to call Tyler to get more info by flirting with him and even sleeping with him. I also didn't like reading the sex scenes from another person in this story a person who was probably the culprit. Still trying to figure out some of the grammar like Tyler was sat at waiting for Jamia
Jamia acted out of character considering she came from a wealthy family, yes she wanted to make it on her own it would seem like she was familiar with expensive restaurants to not be shocked at prices when Tyler took her out.. but in the end, it was more like a magazine article than a book it Was hard for me to stay for the complete story.
