I'm smelling some real good stuff today. My five senses are all alert and in awe of this mystifying, gorefest, action-packed series. Adam and Eve sets the standard for the beauty of sequential art with Ryoichi Ikegami's style which is a fusion of Japanese and Western comics.

The action is beyond amazing and the story is hooking. A real page-turner. I could only wonder why others will rate it lower than 5 when the premise is so interesting with the catharsis for having these villains die a gut-wrenching deaths.

Set in one random night, when an invisible couple dressed only in shoes invaded a private room for a group of yakuza and some ordered blind-folded prostitutes. Smell, a yakuza figure with heightened olfactory sense, breathed in an unusual scent inside the room after he announced that there is a "rat" among them. Thus, the hunt for the invisible begins...

I had my mouth hanging the whole time and kept calling my brother to show him some of the great panels that he was hooked on as well and stayed beside me to read as well! I need to know the real identity of the invisible couple. Because, shit!! I knew I needed a seinen manga today.

The first book was interesting of the series. Unfortunately the second book hasn’t been translated yet, so I’m not able to continue it.

I have no idea why the star rating is low.

First you have over-the-top violence, but also exaggerated acts like drinking through the nose, sniffing burning hair or eating a slice of bread after wiping a bloody knife on it. It feels gratuitous. The manga dedicates full pages to gore, though the attentions to details is appreciated. Its story is rather weak. At least I don't have to worry about character names. They all seem to end up dead anyway.

Yakuza boss Smell (actual name) is celebrating with his trusted lieutenants. Suddenly, two of them drop dead. Boss Smell soon arrives at the conclusion that they are facing an invisible opponent. Obviously, thanks to his sense of smell, hence his name. He's the guy who drinks alcohol through the nose. His lieutenants try to use their enhanced senses to track the couple of invisible people while being attacked relentlessly.

weird yet so enthralling, can't get enough, can't be distracted and can't stop until I understand the whole plot.
