740 books39 followersAlfredo Castelli began his comic book career at an early age, creating the strip Scheletrino, a humor series for Italian comic book Diabolik, when he was only 16 years old. In 1967 he began writing scripts for several Italian comic magazines, including Pedrito el Drito and Piccola Eva, Cucciolo, Tiramolla and Topolino.
In 1969 he contributed to the humor magazine Tilt. A year later, together with Pier Carpi, Castelli created Horror magazine, in which he published his strip Zio Boris. He then joined the staff of Il Corriere dei Ragazzi as editor/artist/writer. For this magazine he created L'Ombra, a personal take on The Invisible Man drawn by Ferdinando Tacconi; Gli Aristocratici, a group of gentlemen thieves, again with art by Tacconi; Otto Kruntz, a mad scientist drawn by Daniele Faragazzi; and L'Omino Bufo, an absurdist humor illustrated by Castelli himself.
In 1978 Castelli wrote for Supergulp magazine the adventures of Allan Quatermain, an explorer specializing in archaeological mysteries that foreshadowed Castelli's most famous creation. In the same year Castelli began his cooperation with publisher Sergio Bonelli, writing stories for Zagor and Mister No. In 1982 he created Martin Mystère. The series, initially drawn by Giancarlo Alessandrini, marked a turning point in Italian popular comics history, introducing modern and sophisticated themes in a market dominated by traditional adventures aimed at a younger audience.
In 1992 Castelli launched the new series Zona X, a spin-off of Martin Mystère, that ran until 1999.

In questo capolavoro Castelli riesce a far confluire diversi filoni narrativi integrandoli ed amalgamandoli ottimamente. C'è il Gral, c'è il filone arturiano, con la spiegazione di come una spada, Excalibur, è diventata la lancia di Longino.
Ma soprattutto c'è la storia di come quegli artefatti giunsero sulla Terra circa 180 milioni di anni fa e su ciò che doveva essere il loro scopo, poi avvenne un incidente.
Di notevole importanza la narrazione di come Jeshua, il nostro Gesù, scoprì il calice che divenne il Gral e tutta la storia di san Nicola, patrono di Bari ma anche del mio comune, uno dei rari comuni della bergamasca in cui non è santa Lucia a portare i doni ai bambini.
Infine c'è Otto Rahn, figura di strano nazista, dimissionario dalle SS e poi morto prima dello scoppio della guerra mondiale. Una figura a me già nota per i suoi studi sui Catari.
Questo albo, uscito nell'ormai lontano settembre 1995, pur essendo verboso come piace a me ha anche una certa dose di azione, ed ancora oggi rileggerlo (non lo facevo da più di 10 anni) mi piace un sacco.
5 stelle, come dicevo sopra, è un capolavoro di Castelli e di Alessandrini che ai disegni è magnifico.

Bir çizgiroman düşünün, sizleri uzaylılardan İsaya, İsadan Kral Arthur'a, Kral Arthur ve şövalyelerinden San Nicola'ya, oradan Hitlerin Nazi Almanyasına, oradan da günümüze getirsin...
240 sayfalık bir macera için konu karmaşası gibi görünse de yazarın ve çizersin tüm bu konuları birlikte harmanlayarak yakaladığı uyum ve bütünlüğe hayran kaldım.
Çizgiroman diyip geçmemek lazım. İçinde belki de piyasadaki bir çok çerez kitaptan çok daha fazla bilgi var. Anlatılan efsane ve olayların gerçek olduğunu söyleyeyim. Mitleri ve gerçek olayları biraz da hayal gücünün yardımı ile o kadar güzel bir şekilde bize sunmuş ki yazar okurken hiç bitmesin istedim. 😻
