Hirohiko Araki ( 荒木飛呂彦) is a Japanese manga artist. He left school before graduation from Miyagi University of Education.

He enjoys the baseball manga Kyojin No Hoshii (Star of the Giants); the video games Mario Kart and Bomberman; and likes Prince and other African-American singers, as well as jazz, rock, and rap.

He is a recipient the Tezuka Award for manga.

Un altro volume illustrato magistralmente, il combattimento fra Diego e Funny Valentine sulle carrozze del treno in corsa è stato, per ricorrere a un aggettivo abusatissimo, "epico", al cardiopalma già solo disegnato su tavola così, figuriamoci quando verrà animato.

Qui finiscono le mie lodi. Sono molto triste e il motivo è molto semplice.

Dio è morto. Ed è morto in un modo davvero orribile e crudele, proprio mentre stava per raggiungere il suo obiettivo e questo senso di frustrazione legato alla sua scomparsa così violenta e improvvisa non me lo toglierò mai di dosso. Non importa che la sua morte sia effettivamente coerente con la narrativa di Araki e abbia senso, la mia parte irrazionale di fan morbosoamente affezionata a lui è molto piena di disappunto. L'ho amato tantissimo, in questa saga è il mio personaggio preferito insieme a Johnny e Hot Pants, e adesso sono qui in lutto.

E andiamo a recensire il quattordicesimo volume, sigh.
