Shinobu Wakamiya, the reigning Queen, leaves a mark on Chihaya with her unbelievable strength. Everyone is struck by the way Chihaya throws herself back into practice, in search of greater heights. She has to become even faster, even sharper. The next official tournament the club enters, its members all begin working toward the goals they've set for themselves. But in the first round, Chihaya goes up against an opponent who discovers a surprising weakness in her game... In the process, she discovers she competes against one thing, and one thing only—her heart.

Today I took a train for about 2hours. This vol.6 was most excited book I’ve ever read. An individual match, B-rank, Taichi vs Nishida, D-rank, Kanade vs Komano. They are all Mizusawa high school karuta club members! I wondered who will win. I really wanted to read a whole book as soon as possible, so I was reading it all the time when I was taking a train. I think you’ll feel so excited, too!
This volumes shifts the focus away from Chihaya to show us how far the other four on the team have grown. And much deserved.
Kana who loves these poems already and their cultural history and approaches the game from a very different place. Tsutomou who had the steepest learning curve of them all. Nishido who has put his everything in daily trainin. And Taichi who just deserves a break from all the pressure he puts on himself. They all deserve to win.
27 december 2024 - book four. love this volume because it shows how analytical playing a masterful a karuta match can be. chihaya is learning different techniques in order to improve her game, whilst the other team members are trying to approve their rank as well as techniques. KODANSHA PLEASE PRINT THE ENGLISH VOLUMES I BEG
Yep this is some good stuff, having everyone in the club but the captain in the final competing each other was really good. Chihaya getting her confidence back will be fun to see and Arata is back in the game. Overall the series is getting slowly better!!

not really much i have to say about this volume, however I will say that the match between kana-chan and desk-kun was really exhilarating and I am beyond happy that chihaya is looking at the big picture and learning from those around her. at the same time, feel bad for taichi, he's worked so hard and he just has such bad luck T-T but I'm also glad for nishida, he deserved to go up in rank.
