Human evolution has taken millions of years to get to this stage. But next week, we become something new. Around the world, humanity is undergoing rapid and unpredictable changes, and only three individuals seem to notice that their world is being reborn. But what can they do about it? Skybound unites writers JAMES ASMUS, JOSEPH KEATINGE, CHRISTOPHER SEBELA & JOSHUA WILLIAMSON and artists JOE INFURNARI & JORDAN BOYD to create a new global phenomenon in this oversized debut issue.
James began writing for live theater; creating sketch comedy, stand-up, plays and musicals. After a few years writing and performing in New Orleans and Chicago, a run of one his shows in New York garnered an offer to write for Marvel Comics' X-Men. A lifelong comics fan, James pounced on the opportunity and would go on to write Marvel titles like Uncanny X-Men, Captain America & Bucky, Gambit, Runaways, Generation Hope, Deadpool Team-Up and more. His work for other comics publishers includes Thief of Thieves with Robert Kirkman (creator of the Walking Dead) and The End Times of Bram & Ben (which he co-created with Jim Festante) for Image Comics. In 2014 James signed a year-long exclusive deal with Valiant Entertainment where he wrote The Delinquents and Quantum & Woody - the latter of which received 6 nominations at the 2014 Harvey Awards; including Best Writer, Best New Talent, and Special Award for Humor noms for James. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife Mara and son Devlin. There, James has written for film, television, and video games. But he plans to create comics as long as you'll have him.
The plot is quite interesting, but maybe this is only the first issue in the series that's why the important points were not explain further. I would still try to check the second installment of this once released and let's see if it will change my view about this.
Thanks to Image Comics for the reading copy provided
The concept of this comic is very interesting but lacks explanation on some major plot points. Also, it tells the story of a few different characters who don't seem to be related. All they have in common is one experience, which makes the characters less likable. I'm hoping they will explore more of these characters as well as explain not only why this is happening, but most importantly, why it's a problem that needs to be stopped. Great comic overall.
I'm usually not into books that are too scary or with too much unexplained, but for some reason I really enjoyed this. I don't know if it was the color pencil type drawings with ton of shading. Or if it maybe was so many characters with clearly connecting stories but I really wanted to know more. All of the cliffhangers happening with the different characters felt really interesting and compelling. I definitely want to get my hands on more of this series sometime in the future.
Average color artwork,an image freebie. Slow moving and atmospheric. The first scene is un pleasent. The researcher is unsavory. The nun is long suffering.
I think I'll look more into this comic upcoming issues its kind of creepy in a sort of tale holding my interest. Creepy Evolution horror? Yeah I will get more comics soon.
It was mental. The art was too dark for me and I’m having a hard time trying to understand the story. I have to give it to them because the artists were really talented but it was not just for me.
I would like to thank Image Comics for sending me an ARC!
