Mastering the Professor Books 1-7
I got this copy as a freebie through bookfunnel to read & reviews.
Noting the alternating POV between “College Teaching Instructor/Professor” Resort CEO Gage Rutherford and Professor Emma Burke, I was able to distinguish between perspectives since it wasn’t separated by labels or titles. Sometimes when you read and get focused on one main primary character’s point of view, your mindset sticks. So refocusing my thinking I was able to enjoy the well-rounded story.
Gage is a Dom who has been hurt and refuses to allow love to enter his next D/s relationship. His teaching label isn’t defined at the college where our mathematics Professor Emma Burke recently started working. It does say he & his entire family is very rich and owns a lot of properties, resorts, things & whatnot. So that question is left up for interpretation - if he is a professor himself since he teaches a Masters class.
We learn a lot about our Emma and her internal dialogue is key to her thinking and feeling. We learn about her love and loss and introduction into BDSM lifestyle. This helps set the stage and foundation for our couple.
The books read more as chapters to me and seem to fly. A lot of erotica and S&M activity. It is however tempered by the tenderness and overall story of the two characters. Love finds its way in and that is what makes this story romantic. Very sweet and satisfying when the characters are able to resolve their issues. Makes the HEA worthwhile.

This is not a book to read in company; it is off-the-charts hot, and I for one would be in Emma’s place in a heartbeat, or a spank! Billionaire Dom Gage sees Emma at a club and pursues her; she was drawn to him from that first sight and is an ideal submissive for him. Their scenes, Gage’s reluctance for this to be more than sex, and Emma’s strength keep the reader turning pages to see more. Gage is cruel at times, playing mind games with Emma, and, when he pushes that too far and she leaves, his world collapses. In fact, the scene at the play party is devastating for the reader as well as for Emma, and Gage needs to win us back too. We are seldom shown both sides of a bad breakup; this is another strength in this book that Gage’s world is shown as vividly as Emma’s. I recommend this book wholeheartedly.

This is one hot book and the only reason I could not give it 5 stars is the character of Gage. I know he is a sadist but I found him to be unnecessarily cruel and mean to Emma. Thank goodness for Karl and Tina who supported Emma, but Karl was really the hero of the story. It’s too bad Karl is gay, he is the kind of character that you and fall in love with and want to snuggle up with just like a hug.
Gage’s past made him leery of love, but I felt that destroying Emma to save his heart was unnecessary and had it not been for his abject misery at the end I would not have forgiven him. That being said this was one sexy story full of emotion and BDSM in every way that the reader would want.

Gage and Emma's story was a tumultuous, uphill battle, but thank goodness for the strength that kept Emma moving forward, as well as their circle of friends. Their beginning is cold and harsh, but it's also full of explosive passion and pain. I loved the anguish that drove Gabe to be the cruel Dom that he was - he was so raw and exposed. It was heart-rending to watch them go through their ups and downs, and I cheered for sweet Emma all the way. Loved this sexy, kinky romance!

Julie Shelton has given us such a hot and page turning novel. Gage Rutherford and Emma Burke, their chemistry lights up the pages of the book. Their erotic play is intense, raw and compassionate. Gage is an alpha male and Emma is sweet, giving, loving. Can two people find what they need, want and desire in one another? I love the characters of Karl and Tina. Emma and Gage have off the charts chemistry right from the beginning when they "meet" at a BDSM club. When Emma runs away fearing Gage's masculinity and domination he tracks her down. What follows is so much kinky hotness. But Gage thinking he doesn't do love nearly ruins it!!!!!! Fortunately, both Emma and Gage have good friends looking out for them. I love this book, the characters, the story, everything.

Amazing Read
I don't know how to begin. This book takes you on such a hot, lustful, journey that you just want to jump right into the book with them. Gage, and Emma are a dynamic couple. Can I tell you he is absolutely all Alpha, and she is absolutely perfect. Alright that's all I can say. The writing and flow of this book is beyond top notch. I absolutely recommend this book.

I am in love with Gage and Emma's story. Yes even a Professor can be dominated by the right person. Gage and Emma have chemistry hot off the charts! I wanted to be her many times. Sexy beautiful story!
