If your head and your heart are pulling you in opposite directions - which path do you follow?
The day that Lily walked into Elliot's office, her life changed forever. Robbed of her identity and confidence, Lily is desperately trying to rediscover her true self and move on without the depraved man who stole her heart. A task that is easier said than done.
Needing to clear her head, she plans for some time away but her vacation quickly becomes a nightmare at the hands of the man she loves. Swept up in Elliot's chaos yet again, Lily finds herself on the run, and she doesn't even know who or what she's running from. Is she being hunted, or simply haunted by her past? The lines blur between what's real and fake.
Who can you trust when the whole world is out to get you? No one.
Haley Ladawn writes books. If you have read any of her work, you probably already knew that. When she isn't writing, she's most likely reading or consuming unhealthy amounts of caffeine.
She lives in a small town in Ohio, which she desperately dreams of escaping from. Prior to becoming a writer, Haley worked in customer service, which was by far the most harrowing experience of her life. She learned a lot about people, and more specifically, why you should avoid them at all costs.
These days she can be found typing away at a computer, which will most likely lead to her having Carpal Tunnel Syndrome at some point. And even that won't stop her from writing.
I read Fade and it just wasn't for me, i did say i was not going to read this but as i was given this book to review i thought i would give the second book a go.
Almost 30% in i knew i was not going to finish this book. It definitely was not for me and the reasons are pretty much the same as the first book, i couldn't find the flow, odd way of saying things and quite repetitive.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this though.
Mafia syndicate with a bit of romance. This book took me a bit to get into but once I did I felt completed to find out what was happening. There are so many plot twists and character development changes this book really keeps you in your toes. Just when you think you've figured something out it changes. At times there seemed to be to much going on and you could get lost and confused but the author brought you back. Based on content this book is for 18+. I an independent reviewer for Romance Author's That Rock and I am giving this 4 hearts
I thought it would be like other books at first but it isn't. It was pretty decent the only complain i would have is that it talks about sex way to much and it ended up just getting uncomfortable and me skipping those. Lily is okay but i feel as if she changed way to fast. For being in the mafia theirs not much on that just that she was being chased by them. Like as Eliot being a leader, what was expected, what was his role, what did he do, how come it looks like he just kills those brought to him but doesn't do any of the work?
Fake is a mix of mafia and romance. I loved this story from beginning to end and cannot wait for the second installment. Fake has a lot of twist and turns and trust between characters is tested to the next level. Will leave you with a cliffhanger... If you read Fade, then this is a must read! Don't read this if you have not read the first book! This again is full of twists and turns and the plot was much better in this book. I could not put it down and it kept me enthralled. Great Mafia story and I am looking forward to seeing what Haley puts out next!
The book needs some major editing and character rework. The writing was all over the place. It has potential but it made no sense some of the choices the author made about the plot and characters. Completely dismantled everything you “learned” from the first book. But not in a purposeful way. Just ignored everything. I honestly forgot who was who with how bad the writing was.
Full of twists! A little bit of spoilers ahead! This was definitely an interesting read! Gives you a peak into the lives of mafias and how there's no going back, which sort of reminds me a bit of the movie Baby Driver too. I just hope the mother and baby in her womb survives it. Just that.

I hate that I rated this so low but i just couldn’t do it. I had a lot of faith in this book but I found myself forcing myself to read it throughout. The plot was alright but the characters and plots and especially the ending just didn’t make that much sense. I love Ladawn’s style of writing but this piece needed a little more thought and not just random shit put together...
Well written, suspense from first line to last. I have to get theb first book aabout Lilly but I caaan't wait for the NEXT one, either! Haley has imagination, and a very clear understanding of human nature, as well as more than an observers undrstanding of MPD!
