It is said there’s a dragon fountain somewhere off the beaten path, a fountain where your wishes can be granted. All you have to do is believe.
A female Robin Hood, a dragon frozen in time, a sexy werewolf, a trip through time to find your one true mate, a storybook vampire, a need for change, and a knight in shining armor.
The Fountain: Seven Extraordinary Stories by Seven of Your Favorite Authors
"The sun glistened off the rippling water in the fountain and cast a shadow over the face of the dragon guard standing in the center."
Take this one sentence, send it off to the perceptive minds of seven terrific authors and challenge them to build a story around it. The results are extraordinary (as the title so aptly states.) Although all of the stories contain a dose of the paranormal, some are about the dragon, some are about the wishes and surrounding characters, but all are enchanting. And wonderfully complete. (I usually don't read anthologies because they are always trying to lead you into new story lines or drop you in the middle of existing series.) I picked up this anthology because it contains a writing from one of my top tens, but I seriously loved them all. I am most surprised by C.B. Roberts' addition because I am only previously familiar with his wonderful poetry. Here he created an equally wonderful, descriptive, loving story line that threatened to drown me in its depth. Really, though, they were all just so wonderful to read, so different and compelling, for all the right reasons. This is definitely one to read. As stories go, this one reads quickly, but it will stick. I am looking forward to exploring more from each of these authors.
Each and everyone of these authors I am giving a 5 star rating too !! Each and everyone of you made me laugh ( some also cry ) and I loved reading your work !! Since I needed to pick just one to review ( yeah it was a hard choice ! ) I a reviewing for Julia Mills Banning ; This is Banning and Myanna's story . Poor Banning has gotten himself into trouble and is cursed for it ! Myanna comes to visit a fountain and hopes to have her wish granted . Now just let me say this is a bit different from the normal Dragon Guard series in that it deals with fresh new things . That being said I loved this story !!! It is so well written that you feel like YOU are experiencing it all ! And just to tease you other readers you gotta love Beau !! Dang he timing usually always stinks !! LOL ! Yes the story is so good that you will be like me a add it to your reread list because it is that good !! And I just want to add that Julia Mills ALWAYS seems to be able to draw out your emotions to the point that you feel part of the story ! Well done and STRONGLY RECOMMENDED TO EVERYONE !!
Every story in this book was wonderful, and left me wanting more. Some made laugh, some made me sigh, and one left me in tears(thanks CB). I really hope these authors get together again for another book! Anyone who is a fan of the mystic, paranormal, and just loves a poignant romance will highly enjoy this collection of stories.
All 7 stories, had me wrapped up from the get go. Lots of Laughter and yeah C.b Roberts made me cry again! Lisa K. Miller had me laughing so hard I almost peed myself! Each story has it's own appeal I loved each of them! I Hope you do another with 7 more Authors, or get these 7 to do another book with a New Topic!
This is only the second anthology that I have ever given 5⭐️‘s !! Banning by Julia Mills is a stand alone in her Dragon Guardian series and telks the story of Banning ( a dragon locked into statue form by a witch and Myanna who prayes to him everyday for a miracle to save her mother, Myanna blames Banning when her mother dies and it gives Banning and the other Dragon’s the strength to break his curse . Lisa K. Miller and Darlene Kuncytes are extrodinary in the storytelling too !! There isn’t one bad story amongst them !! If you like dragons and paranormal romance, you will love The Fountain .
Wow I loved every Story in this book. The authors are all fantastic and the way each story flows into the next is great. I really recommend this book. It made me laugh and it even made me tearful.
DARLENE KUNCYTES Good easy read, enjoyable. Starts of well but wraps up quickly. Not a lot of interaction between the H’s. ANDI LAWRENCOVNA Really struggled to finish it and wished I hadn’t wasted my time. Just not my cup of tea. Too out there for my taste and I didn’t like the plot. Cannibal bears and the hero getting hurt. YUK. VIRGINIA MCKEVITT A bit strange and did not really grab my attention. I kept waiting for the punchline. Not sure what happened at the end, think I understood what it was about. LINDA BOULANGER Started off really interesting, grabbed my interest but then became a setting in medieval times, not my favourite genre. Apart from that factor a good story with a twist with the heroine. JULIA MILLS Oh my goodness, Ms Mills has given us something extraordinary in the Dragon Guards series. This is going to be in my top 3 of the Dragon Guards books. It made me laugh and made me cry plus has the added bonus of bringing back one of the missing dragon guards, Banning, the leader of the Berserker Force and also introduce a new clan of Dragons we have not heard of before. It is a slightly different take on the Dragon Guards but at the same time exactly the same group that we love but with so much more added to this series through this book. Banning was rash in his youth, believing himself to be invincible. He has paid the price for his pride, being as he was cursed and has spent the last few centuries as a dragon statue in a fountain. Banning is a Warrior Dragon, I am not saying more or it will spoil it but read this book to get one hell of a diverse, new and special Dragon Guard. Our heroine Myanna/Mimi, is a very nice young woman who has been taking care of her dying mother whilst holding down a job as a psychiatrist at a prison. Myanna is one hell of a strong and likeable character with no flaws that I perceived. The introduction of the Nantonka Bear Clan (which I hope will be a series all on its own) as saviours was very much fun. Heart wrenching emotions abound in this story as well as humour and love. Loved the JD Robb reference too. LISA K MILLER A little bit strange for me but ended okay. CB ROBERTS What a wonderful emotionally gripping read. I am not going to give anything away but this and Julia Mills books are worth buying this set for. Will be looking for more from this author.

REVIEW My review at this time is for Banning by Julia Mills
This story grabs you by the heart it is so intense. We have a curse handed down to Banning a Dragon for his evil doings. Myanna has lived her life believing in wishes and fountains although the one time she truly needs her wish to come true it doesn't. But for some reason Myanna is drawn to the foutain and the dragon that protects it. Myanna has another problem. She is a doctor of the mind and is being sent in to deal with the worst criminals on earth. What does one do when those prisoners do the unthinkable?
Grab this story I am sure you will enjoy it. It's intense, we get action and oh so hot romance.
Banning by Julia Mills! Banning is stuck in a prison of his own making. Mimi just wants to save her mother. One fountain brings them together. Will Mimi be able to stick with the faith in the dragon? Will Banning make it before it is to late?
Just like the other Dragon Guard Series Books. I loved this one! You get Banning who has been stuck as a statue and Mimi who just wants to believe in the stories her mother told her. Loved how both were determined to follow through even if at times they questioned things. Good read!

Seven stories by seven talented author, each beginning with the same line. “The sun glistened off the rippling water in the fountain and cast a shadow over the face of the dragon statue standing guard in the center.” Each story is untiled, so i’ll Identify them by characters and authors. Banning and Mimi by Julia Mills. It was a spectacular, action-filled, edge-of-your-seat story set in the world of Julia’s Dragon Guards. With a beautiful, fierce heroine and a cursed but ever valiant and loyal Dragon King, this story defies the reader to put it down. You simply can’t. “Sometimes, ...we often don’t know we are in search of something until it tells us that we are.” Ember and Bader by Darlene Kuncytes is another amazing story in this anthology. Ember’s wish is that she find out what has happened to her brother, oh, and throw in a hottie while you’re at it. She got her wish fulfilled in spades! Bader is a magnificent wolf shifter Alpha, sent to help Ember find her brother. Little did he know how drawn he would be to this smoldering woman so aptly named. “There’s always hope as long as someone believes,” Rynne and Brendan by Linda Boulanger are drawn to each other as they travel over hostile lands to save her brother’s life. She carries a precious potion that she received when she was rather abruptly sent to the future. But when she is faced with the choice to save her brother or save her mate, which will she choose? How could she make a choice? How could she not? A very tender love story with great action and delicately described passion, this is a lovely read.
This book will be on the top shelf of my virtual bookcase for years to come. More to come...
I received a complimentary copy from the author and willingly reviewed it, as I do with every story I read, purchased or otherwise.
7 great stories all rolled into 1 great book. All are connected to a fountain...where wishes can come true Really great bunch of reads..well worth the price. Honorable mention too. Virginia McKevitt...vampires and New Orleans... Linda Boulanger...medieval times and dragons Julia Mills..always love me some Dragons Lisa K. Miller....a wish.. a cat..
Each story is unique and equally intriguing and it's not until the very last that you get a glimpse of how the dragon came to grant wishes. All but the last story leaves you content with the outcome, the last is almost too sad. I would have liked one more story, the one eluded to in the last.
I didn't want each book to end as every one of these authors are incredible and each story was different but still had the same dragon statue...if I could I would give it more then 5 stars..there were some authors that I have read several of their books but a couple are new to me so now I need to read their other works of art
Enjoyable short read that I hope is a bigger part of the next Dragon Guard series. With another united friendship with bears will bring them even more strength.
This was a fantastic read by 7 amazing authors. I can't pick a favorite story from this collection. Each story started off the same but has their own uniqueness. Each book was fantastic in their own way.
I rarely write reviews, but could not help myself. LOVED the stories.... Five stars... I'm a voracious reader who has always been the family/friend bookworm, and cannot remember if I have ever laughed or cried so much! Thank you!!!
This is a collection of seven short yet highly entertaining magical stories told by seven very talented story tellers that is well worth the read. Very enjoyable reading experience was had for all seven tails that all start off with the same first sentence. Could not put it down once I started.
I’ve read a few of these books so far and they alone are worth getting this set. One sticks out is by Julia Mills and the dragon that vanity got him into trouble.
I am a fan of supernatural, fantasy vampires & shifters alike and this book has them all. I purchased this book because an author by the name of C.B.Roberts had wrote one of the stories within this anthology & I love his poetry. Would I have purchased this if he had not been a part of this book? Truthfully no but then I would have been the on to lose out on this gem of a book. Highly enjoyable and a recommended read of course I have my favourite but there was not one story that I did not enjoy.
