Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.
The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.

Cash is 30 and has just been through a sudden divorce, he was married for six years when he witnessed his wife cheating on him. He has moved into the house he inherited from his grandparents in Geneva Key a small island town where he doesn't know anyone. He is lonely and decides finding a roommate will be a great remedy for that.
Newly divorced male seeking roommate to combat the loneliness. Looking for a woman who's interested in a platonic friendship.

Jade is a single mum to a 2yr old little girl Aria and has been living on the couch at her best friends tiny apartment, she knows she is outstaying her welcome and needs to do something. Jade see's cash's add and is sure he is some psycho serial killer and decides to find out (as you do).
 photo aria_zpsi5pmwkq4.jpg

These two have and instant connection over the phone but Jade doesn't tell Cash about her daughter for ages, scared it'd ruin the connection. To me Cash went a bit OTT with the roommate agreement part, I mean who goes that far just for a roommate? I did enjoy the way they slowly got to know each other over the phone.

Jade decides to take Cash up on his offer and moves across state to Geneva Key with Aria. It's a little uncomfortable at first but I did like how the author threw in some jokes. If you like a good slow burn then you'll love this one, and by slow burn I mean it dragged.............................

 photo dragging_zpsdrtvx2f1.gif

I think the mysterious unanswered questions kept my interest though. Like, what is Cash's job? and Who is Jades ex and Aria's father?

I was really into the first 50%, I liked the characters, the pace was good and the plot had promise. The second half was MUCH slower and had a little to much inner dialogue for me. So this ended up being a very sweet read and if you know me you know that super sweet is not really my thing, but hey I enjoyed it.

What did I read just now?

This book was a very painful reading experience for me. I had to skim and scan a lot of pages of absurdity to be able to get to the end.

It was too slow on the romance and even when we have the romance, we have very little of it because there are so many things going on all through 360 pages.

***********************************************

THE PLOT:

The plot is basically about what happens when a divorced man, Cash, gives an ad on Facebook, seeking female roommate for companionship and a single mum, Jade, who desperately needs a place to stay, answers his ad.

Cash isn’t a pervert or a serial killer. He is not a bad person. He is just alone. He needs to come home to someone after a bad day at work.

Jade was abused when she wasn’t even at a legal age and she has a daughter now from her abuser. She cannot rely on her mother as she is manipulated and controlled by her husband, who happens to be Jade’s step-father.

Because she had to drop college when she got pregnant, she doesn’t have a degree and she cannot find a job to pay her enough money to live on her own with her kid.

Therefore, in her desperate and curious moment she answers the ad, they start messaging to each other, then they meet and not in a few days but after a month or so, she moves into his house with her daughter.

Here are my problems about it all:

1. First of all, she checked him on google, but it was not enough to trust a stranger. This was really a stupid decision. And a very risky one. He could have been a serial killer.

And she suffered in the hands of an abuser when she was a teenager and she takes her daughter to a man’s house that she barely knows.

Thank God, he turns out to be a good man. It was just luck.

2. Cash is a strong and alpha man who is very needy most of the time.

He gets attached to Jade's kid on Day 1 and whenever Jade has doubts about their agreement and considers going back, he begs her not to take Aria (Jade’s little daughter) away from him.

Pathetic much? He cannot live without a kid he has known for a few days?

Just unbelievable! It would definitely freak me out more!

But again, our hero has the best intentions in his heart because he is "the hero of our book", you know.

Warning: Put please, any woman who reads this book, please don’t act like Jade if you (God forbid!) ever find yourself in the same or similar situation. Not everyone is a hero like Cash in real life. Don’t put yourself and your child at such a risk – ever!

And I am sorry but for all these reasons, this book could be a bad example, encouraging people to take stupid risks like that.

Of course, the story takes us to a “too good to be true” ending, Cash falling in love with Jade and doing everything for their happily-ever- after blah bla...

But let me say that in real life, if something seems “too good to be true,” it usually is “too good to be true.”

Now that I have said my piece about how absurd it was for Jade to do what she did, I can criticize the other things more calmly.

The reading experience of this book:

The romance in the book is one of the slowest burns with the weakest sexual chemistry in between the couple.

Instead of the romance and steam, these are the things you will find in it: (There may be minor spoilers in it so proceed with caution)

1. Jade playing with her daughter Aria at the park
2. Jade having long chats with her bff
3. Cash & Jade making friends first on the phone then, in person
4. Jade settling in Cash’s house
5. Cash playing with Aria
6. Cash taking care of Aria
7. Cash and Aria playing in the sand
8. Cash putting sun cream on Aria

23. Jade going to work and doing her job there

(it is just talked about – we are not given the show)

38. Cash telling some truth and some lies to keep her and Aria with him
39. Stevie changing her mind and starting to support Cash after she has met him and believed he had feelings for her friend
40. Cash & Jade kissing finally – and then sleeping together
(Hot? Nope, meh…)
(Safe? Nope, she is still dumb. No talk of condoms or health records. She still doesn’t seem to grasp the fact that unprotected sex leads to unplanned pregnancy until it happens - again!)
41. Jade remembering her abuser and telling Cash what he has done, without revealing his identity
42. Jade’s story not making much sense
(Why never thought of reporting him to the police, or talking to her mum or her teacher about what he was doing to her? Why accepted her fate and let him do it until he refused to have the child and set her free because she wanted to keep it? Why needed to keep the abuser’s child? )
43. Cash getting angry while listening to her story
44. Cash making it his mission to research him
45. Jade’s mum having horse therapy?!!
46. Jade’s mum falling off the horse and getting hurt
47. Jade’s mum being put in ICU care
48. Jade going back to her home town to take care of her mother
49. Good bad guys finding the abuser and beating the crap out of him
50. Bad guy being given his punishment illegally (as a lot of time passed for it to be legal)
51. Jade and her mum in the hospital
52. Jade & her mum talking about past mistakes and their problems
53. Jade’s mum having therapy about her problems with her daughter and husband
54. Jade attending the therapy sessions
55. Jade & her mum bonding
56. Jade learning Cash’s secret job and freaking out about it
57. Jade pushing Cash away, Cash begging her not to push him away
58. Jade & Cash spending some time apart cause Jade thinking
59. Cash calling his ex-wife who cheated on him and asking her why
60. Cash and his ex-wife finding closure at last
61. Cash considering if he should quit his job or not
62. Cash feeling so alone and lost without Jade & Aria in his home
63. Jade & Cash coming together to discuss the possibilities
64. Cash visiting his parents and introducing Jade & Aria to them
65. Cash & Jade finalizing their “Roommate Agreement”, which they’d been revising all the time.

P.S. I am sure I must have forgotten to include some details but you get the picture, right?

I just couldn’t cope with all of these things happening at a snail pace, some of them over and over again…

Although the book had some very sweet moments, I was mostly bored out of my mind and I ate chocolate and drank coffee more than a healthy dose to get to the end of the story.

***********************************************

The writer's note in the end:

The writer says that a guy who owns someone else’s child as if his own is a rare but precious gem. That’s where I agree with her completely.

Where I disagree is you never should start to live with a guy before you are sure he deserves to be the father to your child. The test-period should be in separate houses and it should take a longer time, no matter how desperate you are for comfortable housing.

***********************************************

Well, I might have written a review longer than necessary, so I am setting you free of my rant here...

Verdict: Sorry but not recommended.

The very same writer's some other books, for example "Lust" or "Resuscitate Me" are both highly recommended...

Looking for a female roommate… Nope not going to work.

Men seeking a roommate – preferably female- for companionship. That just sounds wrong lol.

I’m gone a lot for work and need someone around the house. That screamed come and steal from me as I won’t know until you’re long gone. Lol.

Not so easy looking for a roommate.

Cash is lonely. After his divorce he now lives alone and although gone during the week the weekends are pure and utter torture. He has an unusual job. Hints were dropped here and there and yet it was unique. Kind of figured it out though. His job is beginning to get too much. Nearly going down a path that isn’t good that is until he has a ray of sunshine in his life.

I really liked Cash. He is everything I love in a Hero. Overprotective, an alpha, comes somewhat across as a geek, a softness with a spine of steel. He came off at times a tinny tiny needy but only because they were really important to him.

Jade has trust issues but that is one epic heroine. She has finally taken over the reins and although crashing on her friends couch or floor with her daughter she is getting desperate. So she answers an Ad that has gone viral. After everything she has been through she can still smile, laugh and do what is best for her child. She was made out to believe that it was all her fault but it wasn’t, she was a teenager.

I liked Jade but there was just times where she would stick her head in the sand. Yeah okay so we’ve all been there but she has to think long term. I’m also knit picking here again, her reluctance was justified to a certain extent.

The room `dis‘ Agreement is put into place. There are rules – don’t fall in love. He said he didn’t find her sexually attractive so I didn’t quite see how that was going to work out. But there was a nice slow build-up to their romance that made it all the sweeter IMO.

Why would a complete stranger okay maybe not a complete stranger, help? But at some point Jade begins to doubt it all. It does all sound so good to be true. But it’s her trust issues that make it hard but with Cash she overcomes them.

From the 4 star rating it is obvious to tell that I really, really, really enjoyed this read. Which for me is really quite surprising.

Ms. Harper didn’t write what I expected which believe me is really good. The blurb came off as light-hearted and fun but there is so much depth here that the story went above and beyond to what I thought I was getting into and that is what I love. When an author ensnares me, it just makes the book so much better.

This book is well balanced, there wasn’t too much humour, not too much drama all at once and yet there was grownup conversations which I get but kind of annoyed me at the same time. There is moderate amount of angst. No o/w or o/m drama. Hit it the spot for me. Bravo Ms. Harper!

I have to confess something. I read Miss Harper books in the past. Not much, just a 1 or 2 books by her and I do not find them so memorable. The Roommate "dis" Agreement changed my mind. I love this book. Miss Harper created a complex plot and characters to make the story works.

Both Cash and Jade are lonely. They desperately needs a companion. Cash has a very questionable profssion andd Jade, well she is just a burn out single mom. I love how they meet cute in that diner. Reading The Roommate "dis" Agreement made me yearn for my own Cash when I was looking for a sensible roommate during my college years.
Cash is incredible. He is just swoon worthy.

This book has all the feels. It has a little bit of suspense and rom com blends into one. And it came out great read.

When I said "I want to read this book" I expected to get a light-hearted and funny book. Well, there is nothing light-hearted or funny about it. Cash and Jade have their problems and they are not the easiest to handle. We find out slowly about them and they are both ugly. Also, I had a problem with Cash and Aria (Jade's daughter). I know he meant well, but when Jade mentioned she might move out he just thought that he didn't want Aria to go away. What about her mom dude? Aren't you supposed to want both of them in your life? What is going on? That remark and a couple others made the creepy factor rise a lot. The characters were not very well developed and I am not going to talk about Stevie because I never liked her. To be honest I don't think there was a thing I liked about this book. In the beginning, everything seemed good, but as the story, as processing, everything seemed to change and I wasn't on board with that. I feel like the blurb makes the situations in this book seem lighter than they are. Cash and Jade had good intentions, but too many secrets for me.

Leddy Harper's The Roommate 'Dis' Agreement grabbed me from beginning until the end. Man, I might sound like a broken record but I couldn't just help but gush on how talented Leddy is. I love this new book and I love the thought that I am crying now for a different reason. If I have shed rivers of tears with her other works due to the pain she inflicted through her brilliant words, right now, I cried happy tears because of her hilarious moments and the love this book left me. But make no mistake, The Roommate 'Dis' Agreement is Leddy Harper's embodiment on how brilliant she is an artist. The book evoked a lot of emotion in me. I cried tears of laughter and I swooned and fell in love hard with her flawed characters. I am pained for the situation her characters' was in but above all, I was taken into a roller coaster ride that made my journey of Roommate's 'Dis' Agreement to "More than Roommates," Agree to "dis' Agreement a packed full of emotions, laughter and love.

Cash and Jade's story is not my usual Leddy Harper tale. I miss her thought provoking and heart wrenching tales but I am so glad to read a new version of her. I have said this in my previous review of her work, that she's really good at trying in the romcom genre but coupled it with slight angst, emotional scenes, intriguing plot sprinkled with sweet and swoon worthy moments that will trigger your ovary to explode, and I do not know what to say anymore. She nailed it again with flying colors! The woman can definitely write and I am in awe! The Roommate 'Dis' Agreement is the proof of that. I had so much fun reading the book because I enjoyed it immensely.I was starved for her words that I did not put the book down until I finished it.

You cannot blame me. Right from the very beginning, Leddy will pull you towards her book. And I was! It's as if I was magically gravitated in the story it was so hard for me to let go. I was engrossed and the next thing I know, I hit the ending. I love it because I wasn't just entertained. I was given a journey of flawed characters with my mind constantly seeking answers, heart racing and a feeling of euphoria. I was in love! I was in love with the thought of this story. I was in love with Cash and Jade, their portrayal and their character development. I admired Jade's strong personality despite her insecurities. She acted what woman with a baby her age will act especially someone with an inner struggle. Cash on the other hand, made my heart at stake. I want him to be real. He's a swoon worthy alpha without the cave man tendencies. And because of it, you just do not know how elated I was he was portrayed that way. Their chemistry wasn't forced. Leddy made sure that all throught out the journey, we can get connected to her characters especially reading their inner voices through the alternating POV's. And with adorable baby Aria in the mix? It just made my ride a lot of fun!

To end, I want you to read this book. I apologize for the vague review but I just want to leave it this way. Leddy Harper's The Roommate 'Dis' Agreement is a hilarious, sweet yet with punches in the gut tale of more than just strangers to lovers story. Their 'dis' agreements were just hilarious and I can't wait for you to read it.

Great job Leddy!

This was not the light contemporary the blurb promised me.
The fudge, man?! If I wanted something "serious" I'd have looked elsewhere.

It started out okay enough, it wasn't light or particularly humorous but it was working; I couldn't put it down. But the more I read the more...well deep, it got. And I started deducting stars in my head.
I was still hooked but it started rubbing me wrong. Things I wouldn't be okay with in my life. Things I don't exactly appreciate in my characters.
Now I totally dig the mysterious vibe but if I wanted a mystery, I'd read, a mystery.
Not a contemporary romance novel.

You're probably thinking, "Get to the point already!"
Confession time.
I don't have one. Point that is.

Now you read what I said but take a look at my rating again.
4 stars.
Things don't add up, do they?

Well, I'm not gonna do the math for you. Tough love and all that jazz. ;)
Mostly I just want you to read it yourself. ^_^

I will leave you some advice.

1. Don't scroll down.
2. Don't read any other review.
3. Don't read anything else.
And,
4. Leave all your expectations behind.

Cash our hero is a recently divorced man seeking female companionship to chase the blues away.
(Not that kind of a companion, Get your head outta the gutter! :p)
So he places an ad seeking a roommate and it goes viral.
(I shudder to think the types of response this kind of an ad would get. Especially in these media hungry times.)
Jade is a single mom living on her best friend's floor. I'd say couch but baby got dibs on that. Getting desperate, she answers said ad.

I've mentioned this a few times but I wasn't expecting this.
That's good.
After a while books get predictable and slumps tend to last longer. Books like these that still manage to keep the element of surprise are rare and like all rare things, quite valuable.

I loved how this was written, at times it was too grown up and left me reeling and raw especially because I was so unprepared but it maintained it's equilibrium.

It was unapologetic and real and it forced me to straighten up and pay attention and I am awed by the Leddy's mastery of words.

ARC kindly provided by author.

I have to be honest... every single book by Leddy Harper that I've read have been a 5 or 4 star read for me. I love her. I love her writing, I love characters she creates, I simply enjoy reading her works because she never disappoints. When it comes to Leddy, I don't have to read the blurb... I jump right in!
I don't want to spoil this for anyone, so I will not reveal too much about the plot.
I read The Roommate 'dis'Agreement in one sitting. This story of Cash and Jade was brilliant. Their banter and chemistry was off the charts!
I loved the idea of an agreement that basically turned their worlds upside down. By answering an add for a roommate, Jade's life completely changed.
I fipped the pages like a maniac.... and what an emotional rollercoaster it was. From humor to angst, this story of love and friendship will strike a chord for anyone who likes reading funny romance books without unnecessary drama. I do love angst in the books I read, but it has to be well balanced, and in this case it definitely is.
I know that it haunted me long after I've closed the book for the last time.
I highly recommend it.

Where are my slow burn fans? Trust me, you're going to want to get your grabby hands on The Roommate 'dis'Agreement. You're going to want to be there step by step as Cash and Jade fall into friendship, into living together, and finally, into love.

Cash is lonely. He wants someone to share his house to help stave off the quiet in his life every weekend. His resolution: a roommate. He's not home all during the week and he's not looking for a girlfriend, so how hard could it be to share space just for two days?

Jade is just trying to catch a break. She's homeless, jobless and a single mother. In answering an ad for a roommate, Jade never expected that her luck would take a turn for the better. Now she just needs to keep to their agreement, but as roommates, they're bound to disagree, right?

I really enjoyed getting to know Cash, Jade, and Aria, Jade's daughter. They were friends first--meeting and tried to deny their feelings for a long time. Both of them have been so burned in the past--they both have skewed ideas as to what is a true romantic relationship, but they're so amazing together. And equally amazing is that scene-stealer, Aria! ~ Missy, 4 stars

When I first saw this cover I thought this was going to be a Rom Com, but actually it was a contemporary romance with some suspense and intrigue. For me, this was a book of two halves, the first I adored and the latter was just OK and all got a bit too drama llama, taking away from the main attraction. Cash was hard not to fall for as his true colours come flooding out when he finds himself side-swiped by his new roommate and her child. He finds he wants something he never thought he did but because of his past and his job he was reticent to take the leap. As I said I loved the first half and thought for sure this would be a solid four stars but alas, no.

Maybe it was just me

I kept reading, and reading, and reading, hoping to get to the 'romance' part of this romance. For me, it seemed to move interminably slowly.
It felt as if I had been reading forever. It was as if we had already had the romance, now, it was just day to day life. Grocery shopping, and potty training babies, are not the relationships I look for, in a romance.
Finally, when I thought it couldn't possibly drag on in this vein much longer, I looked down, only to discover, I had not reached the 50% point yet!
I gave up, and deleted it from my kindle. There may be a fabulous romance here, somewhere. For me, it was too little, too late.

Another room mates to lovers romance, say what? And this one was even sweeter than the other one.

It's about a single mom who is struggling to find a job and a place to stay. She's been staying with her best friend and her boyfriend, and she's sleeping on the couch and using the kitchen sink as a bathroom. Yeah, it's a real struggle for her. One day her best friend sees an ad on Facebook that has blown up on the internet because the guy who wrote the ad was super evasive and sounds sketchy as heck. Jade finds herself tempted to see what is up with this guy so she fills out the form just to feel him out. Turns out though, that he's a genuine guy just looking for a female room mate so he doesn't feel so alone when he's home and just to have someone to talk to. He's divorced and just missing some platonic female company.

Jade and Cash start talking first through emails, then texts that quickly become hour long phone calls. It's supposed to be just getting to know each other conversations to see if they would work out as room mates but they quickly find themselves developing a friendship. They decide to meet up to see how they deal with each other face-to-face, and Jade confesses all her lies and tells him her current living situation. Cash who already knew that she had been hiding something (he can tell when someone is lying due to his profession) tells her she can move in. He owns the house and she doesn't have to pay him rent, and he just wants the room mate to have company not because of the money or anything else. They make a deal and Jade and her daughter move in with Cash.

Their friendship becomes even more intimate, they spend every weekend together and always stay up late talking. They share their pasts with each other, him the story of his divorce, and her the reason she doesn't want Aria's father in their lives. And their attraction and love for each other grows day by day too. And how can Jade resist him when he treats her daughter as if she was his own? The answer is she can't.

But just as they give in to their love and attraction, Jade's mom is an accident which forces her to go back to her hometown and face her demons. And it's there that Cash's secret comes out.
Will Jade forgive him for lying and hiding part of who is from her? Will she love him or leave him? Learning what she did, she doesn't know if she can let Aria live with Cash anymore.

Want to learn what Cash was hiding from Jade, or if they get their HEA? Pick this baby up! It's super sweet, fun, sexy and even a little angst-y. Certainly a good and easy read.

I loved the herion in this one!!! Jade was no push over - she was strong, sexy and a great mom (I mean she had to pee in the kitchen sink for crying out loud!) Oh and the chemistry between her and Cash felt real (HOT) not force.

Leddy Harper is really impressing me with every book of hers I have the opportunity to read. Her characters are well developed and her plot and flow of the story keeps me hooked and reading in every spare moment. These new characters and this new story was no exception. Cash and Jade come together because of his desire for a companion and friend for his spare moments and her need for a room. They both know and agree upfront that among other rules, one of the most important needs to be that there be no physical relationship between them. But it's not long before this convenient arrangement has blurred lines and confused emotions. But Cash has secrets and Jade has trust issues and that makes it very hard to see their way through to what's right in front of them.

I absolutely adored this story and in the end, I read the last words with a smile on my face. I loved the emotions this story brought out and how the different twists and revelations in the story were resolved. This is one I would definitely recommend for contemporary romance fans.

I seem to be in the mood for the friends-to-lovers troupe…at least that’s what Amazon keeps recommending to me. Which is how I ended up reading Leddy Harper’s THE ROOMMATE ‘DIS’ AGREEMENT. I was pining away for Mariana Zapata after having finished her back log and this came up as a recommendation. My expectations was for something light-hearted and funny that would see me through my Zapata withdrawal. That isn’t quite what I got.

Instead of having a light hearted romantic comedy we have a young single mother living in poverty and one step away from homelessness. Until she sees a post on Facebook from a man looking for a female roommate for a platonic friendship. Sounds dodgy? Hell yeah. So our single mum decides to mess with him a little, only the more she talks to the him, the more she begins to think that his offer is genuine and this could be just the opportunity that she needs.

Pretty Women is one of my most hated films and not just because I don’t like Richard Gere. It made prostitution into a fairy tale and just one more step in a quest for your HEA. It didn’t highlight how risky it is to street walk, or how vulnerable women can be. Nope, instead our heroine gets her knight in a shining limo. How does this relate to THE ROOMMATE ‘DIS’ AGREEMENT? It’s the whole risky behaviour thing. If a man is asking for a ‘platonic’ roommate on Facebook and isn’t fussed about the amount of rent you can pay, chances are he’s either a serial killer or a pervert (or both). This meant although I enjoyed this book to some extent I couldn’t quite suspend my disbelief enough to get past the 3 stars mark.

However, although this book wasn’t quite what I expected and I couldn’t quite buy into the story I still liked it. Once I got past the screaming in my head that she was getting herself into a crazy dangerous situation I thought the romance was sweet. It slowly grew as they began to trust one another until finally it bloomed into a romance. It was quite a tame kind of love though and I didn’t really feel much chemistry, beyond the friendship, between them but it was very …nice.

This book didn’t blow my socks off, but I did enjoy reading it, it was just what I was in the mood for at the time. I am also a first time reader of Leddy Harper and I would definitely pick up another one of her books, however, unlike with Mariana Zapata, I don’t feel the massive urge to read her entire back list. But if you’re in the mood for a slow moving friends-to-lovers read, this wouldn’t be a bad place to start

So the plot definitely drew me in - I love a single parent romance and the idea of two strangers living together out of necessity. And the way Cash stepped up and cared for Jade's daughter was freaking adorable. Also strangers to friends to lovers is just *chefs kiss* and one of my favourite tropes.

The whole suspense-y type plot was kind of weird to me, especially as the cover/blurb don't hint to it at all, and at times I couldn't help thinking that Jade's actions re: personal safety were super questionable.

But if you suspend belief a little this was a lot of fun and I enjoyed Cash and Jade's romance a lot!

In true Leddy Harper fashion she gave me a story that I would love and relate to but also have my heart ripped out by. Cash and Jade are a very relatable pair that start their journey as two people just looking for someone to fill a void that is missing. Cash needed companionship and Jade needed a change of pace. Both have some flaws to overcome and they both end up with a bittersweet journey that I didn't want to end. I did see some of the twists coming but that is only because I was relating to Jade as a character with her struggles and conflicts. There are some triggering aspects of this story so if you have a laundry list of triggers that set you off this may not be the book for you. If you can see your trigger and work through them then this is another complicated, beautiful, sweet, and, loving journey of two characters looking for something.

The Roommate 'dis'Agreement was my first book by Leddy Harper and it didn't disappoint.

It's a funny, fresh and somewhat different read. I really enjoyed reading it, even though it has it perks. The story was something I didn't really expect and once I dove into the book it somewhat became kind of predictable.

Cash - apart from what he does for a living - is almost too good to be true. Perfect boyfriend material. I love how he devotes himself to Jade and her daughter and how he opens up to them.

Jade is a great young mother you want to have as your best friend.

The Roommate 'dis'Agreement is a whole lot about trust on so many different levels and layers. It shows that you can be rewarded for trusting as well as being punished. But if you never trust, you'll lose something important along the way. It's always worth a try.

"Is this for real?" she asked against my lips. "If it isn't, I don't want to live in reality."

My second Leddy Harper book.

Not my last.

I really enjoyed the writing, the story, and the characters. She didn't give me perfect characters. The characters are flawed, imperfect, and a touch bitter.

All with good reason.

But they aren't closed off to everything.

Adventure, friends, roommates.

They take on these new experiences and find love where they weren't expecting it.

Cash and Jade find each other at the perfect time in their lives. They grow within themselves and around each other. Neither expected to find their true love when they became roommates, but no one can argue that the unconventional beginning was exactly the beginning they needed.

And Aria? Oh, I love that kid. And I love how Cash loves her. He's the perfect guy.

Had so many issues with this story.

The cover is misleading for starters -
does not fit the characters or the book at all. It leads you to believe it is funny or sexy or something close to it. And it’s not. It’s way too serious and pretty sad to be honest.

And I have to say that the plot was not believable at all. A woman with a toddler moving in with a man she doesn’t know at all just seems too far fetched for me. Specially after knowing her past.

Jade was also too annoying to me. As much as I tried I just couldn’t like her.

Also, I was bummed to be correct about who the father of her child was...

A slow burn, but more slow than burn. It was all or nothing with these two. I wanted more lingering glances and stolen moments. They took forever to get to "that" point, and when they did, it just took off, and it didn't feel as authentic to me as I wanted it to. That being said, I did read it in one day and enjoyed the story. Cash is a one of a kind character. I love men who fall in love like he did. This book was a bit deeper than I anticipated, but I'm glad I took a chance on a new to me author. I'll definitely be checking out more from Harper in the future.

Jade answers an add for a roommate wanted as a lark with no intentions of taking the guy up on it. Its a drawn out process with background checks, emails, texts, a few calls and then finally meeting. In that time Jade and Chase develop a friendship but both are hiding a secret. See Jade has a two year old daughter that he knows nothing about and he has a job that is far more secretive than the front job he tells her about.

Chase meets her and offers her the room, rooms, plural. OK with lil Aria moving in too. Quickly a deeper friendship forms and Aria is a pleasurable bonus. Soon the deep friendship turns to feeling neither is willing to accept. Seems Jade has a darkened past and Chase has a darkened career which he fears no one could accept.

I liked this story a lot for the 1st 2/3 rds of the book. The ending fell flat for me. The showdown with her past. Her learning about his job. A few other things.

Still I loved the writing style the characters and the pace. I would still recommend this to you.

Cuteness overload!

I’ve had this beauty say on my kindle for a while and figured it was time to give it a read and yes yes yes I am super happy that I decided to.

After catching his wife cheating with another man Cash is alone in a home where he knows nobody. He’s tired of being alone with no one to come home to, to chat with so he puts an add out there searching for a female roommate that will be strictly friends only, nothing more. So when he comes across an email from a woman, his interests are piqued, she ticks all the right boxes for a roommate.

Jade is currently living in her best friends house with barely any room to move. When he friend shows her an article for a roommate she laughs it off and sends a joke reply never expecting to find a place where she’d be able to make it her own.

From the first text it was clear these two got along so when they met, they knew they would get along living together. It’s been an absolute joy watching Cash interacting Aria and Jade. There’s something incredible about witnessing a man welcome a child that’s not his and making her feel loved and wanted, it’s beautiful and it makes my heart so happy.

I have to say though..his job occupation..did y see that coming. I thought it was one thing but then nope.

This is my first read from this author and if her other books are anything like this then I need to read more. I’m in awe with this book, kudos to the author for being such amazing characters to life.
