I absolutely loved Dance Moms and I think Mackenzie is a really inspirational person, so I loved this book! I highly recommend to other fans of the show. My only critique would be that I would have liked to hear more about Mackenzie’s life, rather then get general advice. Overall, though, it is a great book!
Never finished. This was basically Kenzie reciting every life lesson she's heard. I'm a fan of Dance Moms and the Zieglers but I couldn't bring myself to finish this!
I really liked how Mackenzie organized her book. She organized it by having one chapter lead into the next one. It made the thought process a lot easier for me. I thought is was a good idea to add quizzes in the book. It was a good way of knowing myself better. In my opinion the best parts of the book was the crafts she gave us. I really liked the one about edible slime. The only part about the book I didn't like was when one chapter only had a few of the fan questions answered. Overall, I thought this book was really good and well detailed. It was a good glimpse into Mackenzie's life.
Is a good book to young people, I think it could help a lot to know that some things are common and we all passed from them. I smile, get boring (only cause I'm 16) and learn.
A really inspiring and fun to book to read by Mackenzie Ziegler, dance mom star. In this books she give 10 different rules so that you can be happy, healthy and dance to your own beat. They are excercise, pictures of her and her friends, diy crafts and much more. This book is perfect for tween and some young teens.
Choice book #4 Q1 Kenzie's Rules for Life This book takes place in Mackenzie's mindset of her "rules" to what you have to have in your life. The book is a realistic fiction and the author is Mackenzie Ziegler. The main characters are Mackenzie her sister Maddie is also featured in it as well. So is Johnny he is one of her singing partners. Mackenzie is very big on self confidence she wants to live every day to the fullest. Maddie is very tone and mature she is her sister very supportive just not as out going as Mackenzie. Johnny is very funny he likes to sorta break the silence in things if someone is having a bad day he can always cheer them up. The main problem in the story is that she is trying to live up to these rules and ways of living and try to convince us to live up to them to. She is always trying to get the world to be better change it one step at a time. She tries to do this by singing. I loved this book so much! It really got me up and moving made me want to change the world just like her. My favorite part of the book would have to be the beginning of the book when she talks about self confidence and why she loves it so much. The book made me feel kind of bad letting the world go on this way instead I made myself get up and think of small ways I can make the world a better place. This book really felt completed it felt like she just singed the end and boom it seemed like now go my part is done lets do yours. It isn't like the other books I have read it didn't have the same old "get the bad guys pow"! It is more something we can try we can relate to unlike all of the other books I read. I probably would have added more details maybe touched more on the topic of fun that was towards the end of the book telling us to relax and not to stress so much. I would have maybe added a little more detail about that part because I struggle with that on my own maybe a tiny bit Mackenzie is on of my huge idols and I think what she says and sings is so inspirational I want to change the world just like her one day.
I selected this book for many different reasons. The most compelling one was the fact that I have been a fan of Mackenzie since I was little as I used to watch dance moms. When I heard that she published a book, I knew that I needed to read it. I bought it and then lowkey forgot about it until this year when I got back into my love of reading. I decided to finally read it because I had time and it turned out to be full of information and very interesting.
This book is about Kenzie's life and what she experiences but she makes the book have interesting twists so it's not just a memoir. For example, she includes games that you can play along in and some of her favorite recipes. She also includes fun facts, and answers to a lot of important questions. Also, she has a foreword and acknowledgements to thank everyone who has helped her get to where she is today.
I really enjoyed this book a lot. It was definitely not what I was expecting at all but still kept me very intrigued. I usually enjoy books that leave me on the edge of my seat with cliff-hangers making me never want to put the book down. However, Kenzie did a great job spacing out her information and creating fun activities in between them.
There was nothing that I disliked about this book. Sure I wasn’t expecting there to be certain things in there and was hoping to find out more about her experience with dance moms. However though, the book was really well done and I hope she will write another one someday. I will definitely be buying and reading that book if that happens!
I'm sure this is a fun book for teens or twenty-somethings, but it is pretty dull for a mom of two like me. I'd been watching reruns of "Dance Moms," so was interested in what the girls have been doing since the show ended and came across this. Unfortunately, at least one of the "rules" is a rip-off from Hamlet, while many of the rest are little more than well-worn clichés. There are some recipe and craft ideas that could be fun for younger girls, but I don't personally have the time or energy (or interest) to spend on them. There are also makeup tips, although those of us who've lived enough to learn that character matters more could care less. But, again, young girls are probably more likely to be interested in such things.
Anyway, I give her credit for writing a book and imagine a younger crowd would enjoy it, but it just wasn't for me. More to the point, I'm absolutely appalled that so many young girls have been asking for life advice from someone who has lived so little of it and who has almost no experience. Why anyone would turn to a celebrity for life advice instead of, say, a parent/grandparent, church leader, or other trusted and seasoned adult is beyond me. Most celebs are horrible examples with no moral compass who can barely manage their own lives, so it's just crazy. Oh well.
Choice Book #4 Quarter 1 Kenzie's Rules for Life: How to Be Happy, Healthy, and Dance to Your Own Beat In the book Kenzie's Rules for Life, the story is based on a true story about a girl named Mackenzie Ziegler. In this book, the main character is Mackenzie Ziegler. She has a passion for dancing, singing, and acting. Mackenzie started dancing when she was about 4 years old. Mackenzie wants to follow in her sister Maddie's footsteps. Maddie is a dancer and so is Kenzie. When Maddie and Kenzie where little, they both where in a reality hits TV show, Dance Moms. Now, they are both on DWTS. (That stands for Dancing With The Stars.) Her sister Maddie Ziegler is also on DWTS. And the crazy thing is, Maddie is only 16, and Maddie is only 14 years old. I enjoyed the in a bunch of different ways. The first reason is, I can relate to Kenzie's struggles. Some of her struggles included, friends, drama, and just life in general. This is why I give this book a 5 star rating, because the book was so inspiring.
I never would have thought I'd pick this up, but I'm really glad I did!
I used to be a huge Dance Moms fan, and I've read a few of the other girl's books, so I decided I might as well see what Kenzie has to say.
Out of all the girls, her memoir was my favorite. I found it to have great advice, and I am not ashamed to say I am taking advice from a 13 year old. She really allows her personality to shine through in this book.
I’ll admit straight up to never having watched “Dance Moms”, which is where MacKenzie Ziegler got her start. This was a review copy of “Kenzie’s Rules for Life”. It’s something I wouldn’t normally read but was pleasantly surprised by. MacKenzie offers sound advice to the tween age group on fashion, friendships, relationships and health. It’s all good common sense stuff and I would happily recommend this to a “Kenzie” fan in the 10-14 age group.
This was very nearly a DNF for me and would have been if it wasn't so short. I ended up skimming a lot of it and note reading everything. I like Dance Moms and checked out a bunch of books from the girls on the show, but this one really was life lessons. And, as a 45-year-old adult reading life lessons from a 12-year-old just didn't entertain me much. It was a lot of "dance it out, be positive, sing" and while the advice wasn't bad, it also didn't have much substance.
I really enjoyed reading it, however, it was a bit slow at first. Kenzie gives really good advice and is pretty wise as well. I also found her mini recipes and crafts interesting. Teens should definitely read this book.
You wouldn't think that the book would be good, but in all honestly it was very captivating to read. I think I've read it about four times and I can still read it again. The content is very teen relatable. I definitely have a lot of fun reading it everytime.
Wow ! It’s amazing how far someone can get in life if you just work hard - and that’s what Mackenzie has done 😊 she shares her tips and tricks to life for everyone to know. Definitely a 5/5 💗
I liked it a lot! it was so fun to read and very fast reading! I lOVED this book and I like Mackenzie! So I recommend it because it has a lot of days, quizzes, interviews, tips and lifestyle.
