Snowed In With... #2

Snowed in with the Alien Dragon

Rate this book
A Christmas without warmth…
Rachel hates her life in Alaska. She hates the weather, but even more, she hates her job which requires her to stay in the sodden state even for the holidays! Instead of going to visit her family in sunny California, she will be spending the holidays alone in the cold north. But when she encounters an unconscious, golden alien on the way home from work – amidst a massive snowstorm to top it all off – it looks like the holidays might not end up as boring as she’d thought after all!

A dragon paralyzed by cold…
Captain Erro of Traag never thought to go down in a battle. Even less did he think to find his mate on the surface of the planet he crashes on! Trapped in the planet’s frozen wasteland, Erro can hardly function in the cold climate. He’s a dragon, for heaven’s sake! He needs some heat! And yet, despite the icy weather seeping into his bones, every time the strangely beautiful alien female smiles at him, his inner flame burns stronger than ever. She is his mate, there is no question about that.

Now, if only he could understand what the hell she was saying…

Snowed in with the Alien Dragon is a standalone sci-fi romance novella with a scorching hot dragon, a HEA and no cliffhangers. Intended for mature audiences only.

As a reluctant millennial, I find Rachel both relatable and infuriating. Rachel is obviously very competent and educated but she has a mouth that won't let and a sense of entitlement that that is as big as her ego. She is newly graduated but resents her paid internship at a remote observatory and wants it all laid at her feet despite having no experience. I couldn't believe her gall and sense of entitlement. She is constantly whining about the cold and her boss and is a serious Debbie downer. I just wanted to shake her and tell her to arse down, work hard and earn her place in the world.

Our hero Erro was fine but the ending was the straw that broke the donkey's back for me. How is it that she is just able to transfer the remainder of her internship to a Florida observatory on the back of Erro's placement?! What about the legitimate, hardworking and probably better suited intern who is meant to be there?! This is nepotism at its worse and it made me see red.

The story itself was short and loosely based around the premise that humans are intergalactic breedingstock and are being abducted. Despite loving this genre, I don't know if I can stomach another like this. Two and a half stars.

Captain Erro of Traag has been posted to Earth to help protect the Earth woman from being stolen. After is was learned that Earth women were capable of mating with six different alien races, they are in high demand. Upon arriving at Earth, Erro sees pirate vessels going in for an attack. After he and his men fight the pirates, his ship is so damaged he is about to crash on Earth. He doesn't think he will survive.
Rachel is an intern working in Northern Alaska. She hates her job because her boss is an idiot rude. He makes her drive 30 minutes in a snowstorm just to push one button on the computer that he could have done himself. On the way back home, she almost hits a dark shape in the snow. When she investigates, she finds that it is a alien and he is badly hurt. He is also smoking hot. She takes him back to her cabin where they are snowed in by a 10 ft snowstorm. When Erro wakes up, she is instantly drawn to him. They discover they are mates however there are problems. Rachel is under contract to stay in Alaska and he is a dragon who cannot handle the cold. Also how will he find his people and who will stop the pirates who landed?
This is a good book with insta-love. I love the dragon trying to deal with the cold! I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.

Light and dull, even for a novella.

H crashes to Earth after fighting pirates (he was on his way there to be part of their star Defence team anyway) and wakes in Alaska - not a great spot for a dragon shifter. Rescued by the h who is his forever, insta-love mate, they have a minor skirmish with some renegade priates that lasts 3 minutes if you are being generous and then hit the sack together. HEA as promised, they relocate to Florida for the warmth. Entire story spans 48 hours, maybe less.

The constant matching of hot, outrageously tall aliens (8 ft plus) who never seem to have any issues cohabiting in a human house, wearing too small human clothes (but aparently gloves fit fine), making out with humans who are 2 ft or more shorter than them with no issues just becomes a bit too implausible. Yes, I can overcome the alien-shifter stuff because it is fiction but the other life realities shouldn't just be assumed away as non-existent

Things I SUPER dig in stories in general: two people being snowed in/trapped together and forced to get to know one another, communication issues due to language barriers, and aliens finding their special someone from our fair planet and having to explain to this special someone that they are THE ONE for them.

You know what I got here? ALL THOSE THINGS.

Erro isn't cut out for the cold, Rachel hates Alaska (for more reasons than just the cold, really, but I don't think that helped her state of mind). He's a shapeshifting alien tasked with helping defend Earth. His communicator is on the fritz after his crash. He's found his one and only and can't explain what's going on.

GOOD STUFF.

What can I say? I like these snowed in scenarios and I'm here for the aliens!

I enjoyed this human/alien romance. It was well-written and included some humor as well as some not too graphic steam. I found the plot interesting with a bit of tension as the H and h had some trouble communicating; the hero had to adjust to the Earth environment, food and customs; and rogue space pirates and the Alaska weather presented some danger. The author also endowed Erro, the heroic alien, with some surprising abilities.

The end of the book was a bit anticlimactic; I felt that the final battle scene did not really flow well in an epilogue and toward the couple's forever ending. But, all in all, a nice, charming, romantic read with likable MCs.

I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Snowed in with the Alien Dragon

This is the start of a great week with the finding of a new author for me in this book, Sonia Nova.
I love to meet a new author in a fast moving story that is entertaining and with a new twist to the storylines. The location, the meeting and the way the good guys wack the basis and save and defend the lovely ladies of earth 🌎. Fun read, great action, great bonuses for both the hero and heroine! Not to mention some great smiles and a bit of laughter to boot! Come on and join the fun and good reading!
Now, I just have to find some more reading Sonia Nova!

I got this book as an ARC in exchange for a voluntary review. Errois sent to earth to protect it from pirates when he is shot down. Rachel works for the Alaskan Interstellar Observatory. She finds his ship on her way home in the middle of a snow storm. He keeps calling her ele'a but she doesn't understand. This book will keep the reader turning pages just to see what will happen next ! The characters are strong and the action is very reasonable. It's a good love story.

Not your typical day

If you like aliens, shifters and dragons then this is the book for you. Rachel is stuck in Alaska in a job she is being to hate. When she comes across an alien ship with a survivor. Once she gets him home and he awakes things get interesting. He believes that she is his mate. Can he convince her that they belong together? Will outside force keep them from finding out?

A dragon for Christmas

This is such an amazing story. I love how the author combined shifters and SciFi to get the perfect male character. The story starts out exciting with a space battle and doesn’t lose any of its momentum when it takers to the earth. I enjoyed how this couple was able to connect, even when they could barely communicate. The author really kept the story sweet and exciting and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

Loved this human-alien romance and interaction. He goes to earth for a reason and gets shot down. He meets her and even though they can't understand each other there are other ways to communicate. Good story

This was a really good story. I didn't give it a 5 star because it needs some serious editing. However, Brentwood don't make the book hard to read. Rachel helps Metro when his ship crashes and he almost freezes to death. Metro realizes that she is his mate. Really cute!

Aliens have discovered Earth women are like a universal mate for several alien species that are short on females. Erro is in route to an Earth base as part of the protection offered to protect Earth females.
The pirates who steal the women and sell them at auction to the highest bidder.
I liked this story and it has some more in the series that sound like fun to read. This was a fun read .

Entertaining!

This isn't a serious read. It's a cute romance between a human woman and a dragon shifter from another world. He on earth as a part of union forces. Which are a group of planets the train soldiers from different world's to work together to protect member planets.

Cute Story

Cute little adventurous romance. Fun to read but really too short. I liked the fact that the author's gave you closure on the two main characters. Good for a quick story.

short read

Quick story of a crashed alien fighter and the human who rescued him. Of course she's his fated mate. They eventually figure out how to communicate (his translator is broken), defeat some pirates, and start their happily every after.

This was pretty dumb, but I was looking for something mindless and this fit the bill. The H was not very bright, and their absolute reliance on the translator with the slightest attempts to communicate was obnoxious.

The ending is a litte abrupt and the timing is uneven, however the story is interesting and the characters are easy to connect with.

I loved this book. It is funny, exciting and even a bit scary. My favorite part is Erro trying to communicate with Rachel with no translator available. If you need a feel good romance, this is it.

This is a rather milquetoast and uninspired alien fated-mates romance. There's nothing wrong with it per se, but there's nothing particularly note worthy about it either.

Good storyline but needed more in depth content. Great characters well described but pace of book a little too fast.
