STAR is an acronym the author created to describe his approach to formulating effective job interview responses. STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action, and Result. II is an effective storytelling method easy enough to remember - particularly under situations that some consider stress-inducing.

I enjoyed the numerous examples in this concise book. As interview responses ought to be, the book is brief, focused, and informative. I found the book helpful and see the technique as transferable in many situations- not solely an interview I g technique.

I can use STAR in the classroom, in conversations with friends and family, when meeting new people, and even in grant writing. STAR turns out to be like a Swiss Army knife; with four components, I
can apply it to myriad situations with positive effects. The valuable insights peppered throughout this well-written book make this a priceless addition to anyone’s library. STAR was well worth the price.

Does the job, not bad. Padded, as these things generally are, but probably does more good than harm to hammer the essentially simple STAR concept home. Fairly helpful, I'd say.
