➦Well, well, well. I was pleasantly surprised by this book, to say the least. I knew that Jayne Frost could write from reading the previous installment in this series, but I didn't quite expect to get such depth to the story. This book is on the long side but I plowed through it and was left extremely satisfied. You know the feeling.


➦Let me start with the hero. A hot drummer for a very popular rock band. + that book cover... image in my head =


➦Now, after having mentioned how attractive he is, what precious metal shall I compare him to? Gold? No... need something... DENSER. lol Platinum? Ok, let's go with that one. Sean is platinum. In other words, he's very much a dude.


➦Yes, I wanted to hurl a brick at him at one point during the story. As in, WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT, MAN? But then I remember the logic my hubs sometimes follows (hint: not logical, like, at all) and I become a bit more forgiving and understanding.


➦Anywhateversexistreview, this book has a very interesting second chance at love storyline and some parts really melted my heart. I most of all enjoyed reading about this hero's journey of growing up and learning from his mistakes.


➦Afraid so. But not to worry, he completely redeemed himself, at least in my eyes. And I would have no problem licking him at this point.


➦Totally recommend to anyone who likes second chance romances with characters that will try hard -and succeed- to win your heart by the end of their journey. And, of course, in the middle of it all there's music. This wouldn't be a rockstar romance without it.


➦On the last note, perhaps, one thing to keep in mind is that if you are looking to read a book about a tame rockstar, this one is not it. There's angst, heartbreak and hate present here, but also love and forgiveness. And, I suppose, that's what made it feel real to me. Or as real as fiction can get. And also, if you felt like this review was a tad bit on the sexist side -

Missing From Me is book three in the Sixth Street Bands series by Jayne Frost. You can read any of these books as stand alones. Although I have read the entire series, I read them out of order, this being the one that I missed. I love these boys like they are my own family. In hind sight, I do kind of wish I read them in order and was introduced to the characters in order. With that being said, I can’t wait to introduce you to Sean.



Sean Hudson is the drummer of the band Caged. His life is the band and the music. And, four years ago, it was also Anna. Until he let her go. Until he destroyed everything. He and Anna had been high school sweethearts. They were everything to each other. His band was on the verge of finally breaking out, his dreams within his reach. Words were said that couldn’t be taken back. And Sean made a huge mistake. It was over. He’d lost her.



Four years later, Anna comes back into Sean’s life. Sean is determined not to let her walk out of his life again. He will do whatever he has to do to claim the woman he has never stopped loving.



When Annabelle Dresden sees Sean for the first time, she knows she should run away. But she can’t resist the pull. Maybe she can soak him in for just a little while, get the closure they never had. Because Anna has secrets. And she can’t let Sean get close enough to find out. Only it seems she has no self control when it comes to Sean Hudson. She never did. She can’t say no to him, even though she should.

Sean is one of those heroes that you don’t want to love, at first anyway, but you just can’t help it. I fell for him immediately. He made a LOT of mistakes, yes. But his heart was in the right place. And watching him fall all over again, not that he ever stopped, for Anna, made me love him all the more.

There was no doubt that these two belonged together. Maybe the four years were needed for them to mature a little bit. But with Caged once again on the cusp of something big, and with Anna’s secrets, they have quite a time finding their way through it all.



This is one of those books that made my heart beat harder. I couldn’t stop reading. I needed to know that they were going to be okay. We also get to know Logan a lot better in this book and the relationship between Logan, Sean and Anna. As I said above, I love these men. Jayne’s writing grabs me from the start and doesn’t let go. I’ve loved every single one of the books in this series. I also want to say that I loved the author’s note at the end. I enjoyed hearing about Jayne’s feelings for Sean as she wrote this book. I’m such a fan of her books and won’t hesitate for a second to read anything she writes.

Yeah so I have one thing to say before I go off and rant.....
This book is


I read books in a matter of a day, but rarely do I sit down and read a book from cover to cover. Yep today, I binged on Sean & Anna and holy shit did I love it!!! This book completely captured my attention from the start. Nothing tore my attention away.
Not

Not even a meal

Definitely not

Not even when my hubs offered me shopping.

This book is long, I won't lie, but even though it took 7 hours, it felt literally like two, thats how much it kept me pulled in. I couldn't wait to get to the end, couldn't wait to find out what happened, and I patiently waited to see if I screamed or cried. I cried, happy tears.


So although I lost myself to Sean & Anna today, my house was turned upside down


I'm not sorry my day was spent lost in this book


I fell in love with another Sixth Streeter and his princess and I am patiently waiting for more Mrs. Frost😘

I listened to the audio book of Missing from Me, and first things first- the narration was fantastic. Jacob Morgan is one of my favorite narrators and he did a great job voicing Sean. This is my first Jayne Frost book and I enjoyed her writing. I struggled with how to rate this book, as there were things about it I did love, but my god this heroine. I consider myself a very ‘easy’ reader. I’m not super picky and I don’t have tons of things that bother me when I read. One of the very few pet peeves that REALLY get to me, this heroine did The heroine and hero had a child together. She found out she was pregnant around the time they split up. And she DIDN’T TELL HIM. Unless the man is abusive or something around those lines, there is NO GOOD REASON for this. For making someone miss out on 4 years of his child's life, and to have your child miss out on having their father for equally as long. IT INFURIATES ME. The level of selfishness this is… well, it’s on an entirely different level in my opinion. Sean was understanding, and that’s great, but to me, something like this is unforgivable.

As you can tell if you’ve read the spoiler, this is something I feel passionate about. I do think that not everyone will feel the same way as me, and if that’s not something that’s a deal-breaker for you, you’ll most likely enjoy this book as it was well written and a very entertaining read! I’m looking forward to reading more- if there is a Logan book coming, count me in!!!

"You are missing from me."

Missing From Me is the third book in the Sixth Street Bands Series. This was my first read of the series and it can be read as a stand-alone. Sean and Anna were high school sweethearts. Sean is a rockstar and Anna is a student seeking a career in law. When Sean has the opportunity of a lifetime to tour the country and Anna isn't ready to give up school, the two are forced apart. Four years later, Anna and Sean are brought together again. With the passing of time, both have experienced their own successes and losses. Neither has been able to move on from the love that they shared and then lost. Sean will have to fight hard to earn back Anna's trust and both will have to learn to forgive and move forward together.



Told in dual POV, Missing From Me has a complicated plot with many twists and turns. The relationship between the two is intense and although I felt the love they shared was sincere, I struggled with the many poor decisions they both made throughout the course of their relationship. The rockstar romance lifestyle is a difficult one to navigate through so you should expect a heavy hand of angst and an overabundance of smoking hot passion. As I am a huge Austin, Texas fan I enjoyed the Austin setting that is showcased nicely throughout the read. As the plot begins to unfold, I was certainly invested in these characters and although I never truly connected with either of them, due to both of their bad decision making throughout, I was certainly invested in the story and was happy with how it all turned out.



Overall, this read would appeal to rockstar romance fans who enjoy a tender second chance romance and aren't bothered with a complicated plot with a lot going on. This was my first read by this author and although Sean and Anna weren't my favorites, I was quite intrigued with some of the other members of the band and would be more than willing to check out more of this series in the future.

Missing From Me is a second chance romance, set in Texas, that centers around the drummer of an up and coming rock band. Even though this is the third book in a series, I was able to pick this up and understand everything going on, with very minimal spoilers. And I really enjoyed this one, and now want to devour the rest of the series!

Also, because I know most of you follow me for my fantasy reviews, I always feel it necessary to state that I rate erotic romance books differently than other books! I know many of the relationships are toxic and problematic and I completely understand that they wouldn’t be the healthiest and/or most ideal of starts for people in real life, but I love steamy reads and I rate them purely off my enjoyment, and I truly did enjoy Missing From Me.

And content warnings for off screen cheating, death of a parent(s), talk of chronic disease treatment (cancer & asthma), and mature sexual content.

The basic premise of this book is that Sean, the drummer of Caged, is continually haunted by a few bad decisions he made four years ago. Four years ago, Caged was starting out and trying to make a name for themselves, but Sean didn’t think he could handle being in a long-distance relationship. Basically, in the span of eight hours he made some really terrible choices and ended up losing his high school sweetheart and the love of his life. But she has haunted his thoughts for the last four years. And now he is playing a show back at their home town, where she still lives, with her new husband.

Anna hasn’t stopped thinking about Sean, either, but she has given up many things to live with a secret that she has been keeping for four years. I personally liked the secret, but I know that it could irritate a few readers, so check out my friend Christy’s spoiler tag in her review, if you won’t mind a mild spoiler if you are hesitant.

I really enjoyed this story, but I just felt like there were so many forced reasons why the couple couldn’t be together. And then, once one was resolved, there was a new, bigger, more dramatic and less realistic reason for why they could no longer be together. I’m all about the angst and slow burn, but this book just felt like it was trying to shoehorn in the angst and tension.

Overall, I would totally recommend this, especially if you are into rockstar romances, which I seem to be a sucker for. Seriously, I have honestly dated five drummers in my life, so… this obviously worked for me. In my opinion, this book had the perfect mixture of heartwarming scenes, romantic scenes and steamy, sexy scenes. I cannot wait to start Lost For You!

NOTE: This coming year I have set a challenge for myself of reading one book a week that takes me out of my comfort zone. A book that may include one (or more) tropes (scenarios) that I usually avoid like the plague. Cheating. Older women/younger man. OW drama. Just to name a few. Nothing is off limits. I am taking a HUGE step out of the box I usually reside in and charting a course into the unknown (HaHa). My reviews for these books will be slightly different than my usual as I will focus a bit more on whether the author managed to WOW me despite it having content I usually avoid. That said, I will go into each book with an open mind and an open heart and who knows, maybe I will discover a new favorite author on the way!


Full transparency here I went into this one knowing a lot of what would happen beforehand. Going forward with my challenge I will be going into the books with (hopefully) little to no knowledge of what to expect as I plan to avoid reading reviews before I start the book. Because of that I honestly thought I would struggle A LOT with this one. In fact, I ended up enjoying it WAY more than I thought I would.

~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~
I found this one to be very well written. The pace, for the most part, was very good. That said, I also thought the book was maybe a smidge too long as it did drag a bit in a few places. Especially the last 25% or so. Nothing too bad though. The plot was engaging and kept me turning the pages and the happy for now ending wrapped things up nicely.


~HERO~
Honestly, he was a childish douche for the first part of this book. First impressions are everything, and his was not a very pretty one, to say the least. He also didn't appear to be the sharpest tool in the shed for a lot of the book. Amazingly enough, somewhere along the way, I started to warm up to the guy. His interactions with Willow were SO sweet and often hilarious. Did I feel he was redeemed by the end? Yes, I do believe that author pulled off a small miracle in that sense. Did I completely love him? NO. Did I feel he groveled enough...NO. But only because I am a grudge holding bitch that thinks he should have crawled over broken glass while the heroine kicked him in the balls over and over again. Alas, as amusing as that would have been for "ME" I doubt that it would be a selling point for other readers. C'est la vie.


~HEROINE~
I think just the fact she had anything to do with Sean again set Anna up to come across as a bit of a doormat. I would have sent a lovely "FUCK YOU" letter back to Sean for the flowers he sent and left it at that. Of course, that would have made for a very short book indeed. *lol* I also thought she fell back into his arms WAY too quickly. That said, I did find myself liking her a lot overall. The whole secret baby thing can be problematic sometimes for me, but since Sean was such a douchenoodle, I understood her keeping it a secret. She seemed to be a great mom. A great friend. As I said, I liked her. Would I have made the same choices as her? NO, but again if she had done what I wanted her to do there wouldn't have been much story to tell.





~SIDE CHARACTERS~
There was an excellent array of secondary characters. I loved both Logan and Peyton and wouldn't mind seeing each of them get their own book. I also rather liked Drew and wouldn't mind seeing him get a happily ever after in a book of his own. And of course, Willow was adorable.


~HEAT LEVEL~
This was moderately spicey. The sex scenes were hot, and there was a decent amount of them, but they didn't overpower the plot.


~ANGST LEVEL~
Moderate. This surprised me, considering the subject matter I expected this to be angst overload but I didn't find it too bad at all. It's not all rainbows and butterflies as there is a lot of pain and anger and hurt to be dealt with but I also didn't spend the entirety of the book with a knot in my stomach. Even the OW stuff (although prevalent) wasn't too over the top bothersome or detailed.


~IN THE END~
I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would for sure. It had a lot of things that I usually avoid like the plague, but the author did a good job of weaving a tale that had me engaged from page one. Because of that, I didn't find myself getting hung up on stuff that usually would have me not finishing a book lickety-split. She also managed to redeem the hero, and I can honestly say I did believe he would remain faithful to the heroine from here on out. Which is a HUGE feat considering I tend to be a believer in the "ONCE A CHEAT ALWAYS A CHEAT" mentality. So yea, this turned out to be a pretty good first foray out of my box and therefore is getting two thumbs up from yours truly.

This was the first time I’ve ever read/listened to a book and I’ll get into my evaluation of this experience in a bit. But first, let me tell you what I thought of the book. This story had my stomach tight with a bundle of nerves right to the end. I was anxious, frustrated, angry, amused, happy, and a whole whack of other emotions I won’t bore you with. If you’re looking for an easy romance, you won’t find that here. This was an authentic look into what it is to want to realize your dreams while trying to hold onto your love and understanding that sometimes both at one time aren’t possible. It’s about unbelievable second chances and finding out that love blooms even when you’re not around to nurture it. It’s about music, celebrity, drama, regret, hope and love. So. Much. Love!

Sean tested my patience. I went from hating him to loving him to hating him to loving him again. I’m sure you’ve experienced those types of characters too. The ones who do such stupid things, don’t properly communicate, hurt the ones they love, continue to do stupid things, all while making you swoon at their internal thoughts. Yup, that was Sean. My emotions also went through the wringer with Anna. She drove me insane!! And the secret she kept almost flushed my respect for her down the toilet. That is not a secret to keep. EVER!! In the end, I loved these guys. You know the author’s good when she has you going through so much angst right along with the people she’s created. And there was a heck of a lot of angst.

Okay, so how did my first experience with an audiobook go? I’m still on the fence. I really enjoyed the male narrator’s voice, even when he made it go soft for Anna’s part. I wasn’t a fan of the female narrator’s voice though. It sounded a bit robotic, to be honest. And I didn’t like how either of them did a baby voice. What the heck was that? Also, it took me far longer to listen to this book than it did for me to read it. I get the allure of audiobooks. I understand that it frees your hands and eyes for other things. However, it didn’t really work for me. Loved the story, but it’s a ‘meh’ on the listening part.

“Missing from me” (book 3 in the sixth street band series) was an epic journey! I was pull in from the first page. Anna and Sean’s relationship felt so realistic they made so many mistakes, hurt each other. But when they were together they were so good, you felt their love and passion for each other nothing OTT or cheesy just so real and raw.

This book didn’t let go of me till I was done and I enjoyed every single moment, every emotion I went through. My stress was high my frustration even higher and I definitely wanted to sit both Anna and Sean and just shake some sense into them. But they also got me thinking and the more I read the more I realized who goes into a relationship and knows what they’re doing?! Nobody right?! We learned as we go and yes all couples are different and deal with their issues differently.

But Anna and Sean deal with bigger issues. With Sean’s band of the verge of fame wanting Anna with him and Anna having her own goals. Miscommunication leads them to separate till they have a second chance encounter a chance to realized they never stopped loving each other.

Sigh! I fell in love with this two imperfect characters that somehow with their mistakes and struggles were so perfect for each other.❤️

Music is the fuel that gets me through my life. I get up with it, I dream with it, I travel with it. I live music every single day so it's a given that Rock Star Romances are my kryptonite. It might be for that reason that I'm particularly hard on them when it comes to reviews.

I didn't know Jayne Frost until last winter, when my friend Maria asked me if I wanted to review her new release Lost for You. As always my schedule was tight so I had to decline. I did buy the book though. When the first reviews started popping up I got really excited. I then received a promo code for the audio book of Missing from Me.

Jacob Morgan/Zachary Webber can read the phonebook and I'd still listen to him. He's got this sexy deep voice that sends a tingle down your spine. Elena Wolf/Andie Arndt isn't just a complimentary voice, she is pretty awesome herself and I really loved listening to them bringing Missing From Me to life. They were phenomenal.

This story was angstier than I expected and I needed to take breaks in between to gather courage to read on. It's a second chance romance about highschool sweethearts who broke up for reasons that aren't obvious at the beginning - Anna and Sean are in love and it's so obvious that when their relationship unravels you are dumbfounded. As you dig deeper into Anna and Sean's life you realize that you can't just pin it down on one reason alone. There are so many layers and facets for their break-up that it's extremely difficult for them to glue back together what once was broken.

Both of them are equally beautiful. Sean's remorse for his mistakes is so palpable - it's hard to hate him for it. It takes a strong woman to see past them. Anna doesn't make it easy on Sean and it takes the whole book for her to let him back in. Sean's good intentions are obvious and he does all the wrong things for the right reasons. You could feel down to your soul that this was a man who wanted nothing more than to make it right for the woman he loved. He just had a bit of a clumsy way to go about it. What I need to say though is how much I loved Sean. He was everything, the way he loved Anna and his daughter was dreamy.

Sean tasted like he smelled. Like sunny days at the lake. And a bowl of fresh oranges.
And home.

Anna was a wonderful heroine. She had her flaws but she was never a hypocrite. She admitted them freely and tried to be better. I am glad that while I still could feel the love she had for this man she held her own and drew a line when things didn't work for her the way Sean went on about them. One mistake she made was huge - I didn't feel that she did it because she was selfish - still I would have liked a little bit more remorse and a better explanation.

Their connection was beautiful. It was a love made for a lifetime. I rooted for them from the start and was gutted when they encountered another pitfall on their way to their HEA.

Whether she invaded my dreams or I occupied hers, I wasn’t sure. But when I drifted off, Anna was with me, beneath our willow tree, with lips that tasted like candy.

When Sean finally gets his head sorted and knows what he has to do to win back the love of his life you will feel relief and exhilaration. I adored Sean and Anna's journey, as hard as it was but it also reminds me to fight for the things that are essential in your life and let go of what's dispensable.

A hightlight was the bromance between the bandmates. Logan, Sean's best friend, didn't make it easy on me to love him but I'm pretty sure once I have the whole picture I'll love him too.

Missing from Me was a phenomenal introduction to the Sixth Street Bands series and while I adore Jacob Morgan as a narrator it's Jayne Frost's extraordinary talent that made this second chance rock star romance amazing. I am in awe of how flawless this author's writing is. It completely resonated with me and I'm looking forward to catch up with the other books in this series.

I’ve adored the two previous titles in this series. Sadly, this one was a letdown. While the other books ascended above and beyond the rock star romance sub-genre, offering original, engaging, heartfelt, but still sweet and sexy tales with swoonworthy heroes, this one really didn’t feel like it fit into the tone of the series. Right off the bat, it’s angsty, at places depressing, and utilizes rock star themes done so many times over, unromantic tropes, and double standards.

Specifically, I was really disappointed in the OW drama & sex scene references, the first encounter basically being cheating. This turned me off from the start and made it so hard to connect with Sean, unlike Cameron and Christian who came before him in the series and were A-mazing guys. OMG, even the snippets of them in this one showed that they were still such sweeties, asking their fan girls to not touch them and only having eyes for their heroines. That alone was enough to make me want to put down this book and pick up theirs again. Cameron and Christian were true book boyfriends; Sean was a douche.

In the beginning, I found Sean an egotistical, self-centered, misogynist jerk. The fact alone that he asserted that Anna had rejected him when she wasn’t the one to end the relationship and only chose to stay behind because she was invested in law school made me want to kick him in the balls. And when he rolled off with inner thoughts like “I’d never moved on” after he clearly slept with many other woman I wanted to roll my eyes. Saying he thought of her when he was with these other women just made it skeevier. I really felt that Anna deserved better. No girl should have to sacrifice her career goals and get stuck with a guy whose other women are repeatedly going to be in her face.

Which brings me to the problems I had with the romance. Half way through the story and I still didn’t have a sense of a romantic connection between these two. There was a lot of angst and depressing family situations. There was sorting out heartbreaking mistakes and having sex again, but that’s not romance. I think if the opening chapters would have focused on Sean and Anna in their happier times so readers could see why they were it for each other instead of Sean’s sexual indiscretions, and if Sean wouldn’t have become a manwhore, the romantic angle would have been better developed.

I officially threw in the towel at 54% when more signs of OW drama/misunderstanding were on the horizon. I read romance to escape and feel good, and there were just too many places where the story was either a downer or clichéd devices were being employed.

Gone for You and Fall with Me I can’t recommend enough, especially to my safety gang friends. If you are looking for a sweet, sexy, and safe rocker romance, those two stories are the ones. Missing From Me, however, is sadly missing the elements that made the first two so great. It’s definitely geared towards readers of angsty rocker plots and fans of the second chances with a secret baby trope. I really hope Logan’s book returns to the style of the first two. Sean, I’d just as soon forget about.

The Audio
I really liked the narrators for this story. I thought they portrayed the characters very well and I liked that they were able to change their tone to change the feel of the story. When the characters were sad or happy or excited, so were the narrator. I would definitely listen to other books from them.

The Story
This story is a little harder for me to review than the audio part. I have a lot of conflicting emotions about it and about these characters so it's hard for me to really say how I feel.

I did enjoy this book and there were a lot of parts that I was happily listening along and liking everything about it. Sean and Anna seemed to have a strong connection and getting to see them fight their way back to each other was captivating. They had a lot of obstacles that they had to navigate around but I think that only made their chemistry stronger.

Now with that being said, some of those obstacles had me ready to tear my hair out. I was getting very frustrated at parts when it seemed like these two would never be able to get back together because of everything in their way. And when it came to Anna I was questioning why Sean wanted to be with her anyway. I didn't like her at all but I won't get into my long rants of why not.

Overall, I definitely had my issues with this book and there were times that I struggled with it, especially at the end, but I did enjoy it and would recommend it. This was my first book from the author and I liked her writing style and the pace she kept with the story so I will definitely be reading more of her in the future.

Missing from Me is the third book in the Sixth Street Bands series and can be read as a standalone. I’ve only read the second book in that series, Fall with Me, and I liked that book. I had looked forward to reading more books in this series. I loved Missing from Me and I love the meaning of the title! It’s an amazing addition to the series and I can’t wait to read the next book.

Anna and Sean were a couple once. They were inseparable and had their future planned, until they fought sometimes and Sean suddenly breaks up with Anna. A couple of years later, Anna’s grandmother dies. Sean loved her and sends Anna some flowers because he’s away with his band. Anna is shocked to hear from Sean and decides to visit him to thank him for the lovely flowers. Sean can’t believe his eyes when he sees his Anna. They reconnect. It’s obvious that their feelings haven’t changed at all. Anna has been keeping something from Sean and when Sean discovers what that is, he will help her.

Sean is a great character! I wasn’t too sure about Sean in the beginning, but I quickly loved him! He didn’t make the best decision in the past and he becomes a manwhore, until Anna comes back in this life. He changes and he wants another chance. He still loves her and he has never forgotten her. Sean is talented, caring, determined and passionate. He loves music. He loves to write and perform music. It always was his dream to be famous and his band has become famous. Someone will become even more important to Sean than music. Sean is close to his band mates. The band appears more in this book than in the previous one and I loved that.

Anna is an incredible and wonderful woman. She’s caring, loving, genuine, selfless and smart. She was so hurt after Sean dumped her. She was devastated. Anna’s life turned upside down a few years ago, but she won’t change it. Anna has never forgotten Sean and some part of her will always love him, but she was hesitant to give him another chance at first. Sean and Anna are a beautiful, great couple. They always belonged together. They support each other’s dreams.

Sean had me the moment he said "I love you, Anna-baby". I mean *Sigh* *swoon*... come on! Plus it helped that He's a Hot Drummer! Yum!

I loved this book! I loved Anna! I loved her strength and loyalty. I loved Willow! I love the name Willow! And I know i'm rambling but I really want to go all 'fan-girl' on and on but at the same time I don't want to reveal anything.
Missing from me is beautiful and filled with heartache and Love.

1. I have the same thing Willow has so I understand the "struggle". I felt the pain, the helplessness and the fear everytime she suffered.
2. I am at a disadvantage here, I haven't read the first two books from the series but after reading this, I went online and bought the first two.

First, I would like to thank the lovely Maria (click her name to read her wonderful review!) for recommending this book to me. I'm excited to listen to this book because it's narrated by one of my favorite voice actors Jacob Morgan (Zachary Webber) and Elena Wolfe (Andy Arndt), whose narration I'm starting to love. I haven't read any book by Jayne Frost and the story was surprisingly good. I truly didn't expect it at all. Even it's the third book in the series, this can be read as a standalone.

Four years ago, high school sweethearts Sean Hudson, Caged's drummer and Anna Dresden, aspiring law student fell apart after their disagreement and a mistake happened that torn their relationship apart, leaving both heartbroken. They've taken different paths as Sean pursued his dream as a musician and their indie band reached its fame while Anna ends up marrying someone else (but separated later on). As much as they tried to move on with their lives, they're still in love with each other. Sean knows how much he'd hurt Anna for one mistake and he'll do everything to earn her trust and love again. He wants her back but is Anna strong enough to go back to the person she once loved?

Expect these characters testing your patience for the following reasons: they're flawed, immature and selfish. Rekindling their romance for the second time, they have several issues that needs to be confronted and the miscommunication between them frustrated me a lot. They act impulsively without even thinking of the consequences. It might be stressful to read those parts but such mistakes will help them grow as a person, as a couple and as parents to Willow. I wish they should sit down and talk it out as couples do.

Looking on the bright side, I like Sean and Anna's chemistry. Their romance was palpable, the sexy times were scorching hot and the angst was so good! Their journey was difficult and it make things complicated. I'm glad that they've owned all their mistakes and learned from it especially from Sean. He'd proven his loyalty to Anna in the end and that's what the most important for me. With that, he earned my respect. I'm proud of Anna for being a strong and selfless mother to Willow (I adore this little lady so much! She's so charming and cute!). Despite taking a break from her studies, I'm happy she's back reaching her dreams and Sean was very much supportive on her. I love how they made things possible in the end.

Overall, this is a wonderfully written second chance romance story and I'm looking forward to read more of Jayne Frost's novels.

Over time celebrities from the silver screen, small screen, sports and the music biz have produced romance rumors to feed the masses whether they were real or staged. It is only natural that they inspire and provide a backdrop for romance novels. In Missing from Me, one such story about forgiveness, redemption and epic love takes center stage.

Anna and Sean’s relationship began the moment he saw her when they were in high school. But not even their larger-than-life love could keep them together. She wanted to be a lawyer. He wanted to be a rock star. And when a chance to have his dream was presented and she wouldn’t follow, Sean made a choice that would not only cost him his muse, it cost him years of regret.

When Sean reappears because of her grandmother’s death, Anna must face her own choices and the fact that she still loves the man who crushed her heart. Can she find forgiveness when he says he’s not letting her go, that he’ll do anything to fight to get her trust back and convince her that she’s always been and forever will be his only love?

This is my first Jayne Frost novel and it certainly won’t be the last. I loved both Anna and Sean. Anna was incredibly caring and understanding, some might even argue she was too understanding, but it was her inner beauty that stole Sean’s heart.

Sean is a rock star, which implies he’s sexy and talented, but he’s also human and his uncompromising youth drove him to make a mistake. But it’s the flawed souls who strive to learn from their mistakes, better themselves and make a mends that make the complex characters who win me over. Plus, the incredibly sweet, cute, sexy and swoony moments exceeded the heartbreaking and angsty ones.

Though Anna and Sean’s relationship was broken, their scorching and undeniably deep connection kept me rooting for them until they found their happiness. Furthermore, both characters not only rekindle their love, but also make great progress towards achieving life balance and goals.

While Anna and Sean’s story dominates the action and draws you into their struggles, Frost incorporates delightful supporting characters from past installments and in particular, Sean’s best friend Logan who I hope to read more about in the future.

Missing from Me is book #3 of the Missing from Me series by Jayne Frost. It is standalone contemporary rock star romance. It’s a sexy and touching, angsty and swoony second change romance. Told from both points of view and has a happy ending.

I listened to the audiobook and loved this book. It was told from dual POVs, but what I really loved was that there was a man and a woman for each part. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve listened to many audiobooks and had either a man or a woman reading both parts and do a great job. But having that clear distinction here, just made the whole thing better IMO.

This is the third book in Jayne Frost’s Sixth Street Band series, but it’s the first read for me in this series. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything from this book, but I now want to go back and read or listen to the others.

Having met and fallen in love in high school, Sean and Anna had dreams of their future together. But when Sean’s band got an offer to tour the country, it was an offer he couldn’t refuse. Anna was in law school and even though she loved him very much, she wasn’t ready to give up on her dream and quit school to be with him. This leads them to a bad breakup.

Fast forward four years later, Sean has been living his dream. Their band is doing well and there are girls in every city waiting to hookup, but there’s only one girl that Sean can’t get out of his head. When he heard about Anna’s grandmother passing away, he took the opportunity to reach out. This leads to them reconnecting. It’s obvious that they haven’t gotten over one another. Four years and different choices in life didn’t diminish their love, but there’s a lot of hurt to get over and trust to win back. And there’s also the fact that Anna has a big secret of her own she has yet to tell Sean before they can move forward. Will their love be enough?

Second chance tropes are one of my favorites. Add in a hot drummer and I couldn’t help but to love this book. I will admit that a time or two, this book had me getting misty eyed. Yes, there’s drama and miscommunication, but overall there’s lots of love. I was pleasantly surprised and can’t wait to read more by this author. Missing From Me was the third book in the Sixth Street Bands series by Jayne Frost. I received a free advance copy of this book with no obligation to post a review.

Sean was the playboy drummer for the band Caged. He was known for his bad boy reputation and being with a different girl every night. Anna was the one that got away. She left without looking back and we learned quickly that she married and had a child on the rebound. Neither forgot their first love but kept it buried deep. Missing From Me was aptly named.

I loved this story. It was a second chance for Sean and Anna and I'm a sucker for second chances. Sean and Anna were high school sweethearts that thought they would be together forever. One night changed everything. A night they wish they could go back in time and change everything.

The story was heart felt eliciting pain and hurt, then eventually hope and promise. And through it all love was the base, the foundation. Although the story was fairly predictable, Frost included dimension and complexity through raising a hearing impaired child with asthma as well as providing a glimpse of the long lasting affects on a family touched by cancer.

Frost also included the strong bond of friendship through Sean's band mates. The fun, kinship and loyalty of family beyond blood ties provided both humor and additional depth to the storyline.

All in all, it was a sweet and emotional read. I'm always craving more in this series and Missing From Me fell in sync with that sentiment as well. The epilogue included ten months into the future but I'm desiring a more long term look and hope will eventually see more as the series continues to progress. Logan's story is up next in Lost For You and it promises to be another emotion filled story.

"Tu me manques."

FINALLY! The author got it right this time. The story is much longer (405 pages) so there's that much needed depth. And we also get the much needed heroine's POV and epilogue!

This time its Sean's book, the drummer. I was really amazed at getting to know this character better...he definitely wasn't only the partier the prior books made him out to be.

And that reason is Anna. She's his first love, someone he was engaged to although at a fairly young age (17) but their relationship was mature for the most part. Things took a turn once the band started getting noticed.

The book is mainly told four years later and we find out there's something Anna never told Sean about. I have to admit, I hated this part....I never understand when this happens. There's just no excuse and Anna's reason was weak at best.

As these two get caught back up in each other lives, the drama starts unfolding and their lack of communication to each other only compounds things.

I was a little frustrated with Sean because I know he had the best of intentions.

There's even more drama with ex's and family and of course, the band members especially Logan. What the heck is up with this guy? He was a whole lotta jerk in this one that's for sure.

I did enjoy the ending even if it felt a little rushed, however, the epilogue definitely helped things.

5 Missing from Me Stars

First let me start off by saying how much I loved the narration to this audiobook. I am a huge fan of both these narrator’s they brought these characters to life in my ear’s!
And let’s be honest, Jacob Morgan voice is … LUSH!

On to the author this was actually a first for me by this author and I really don’t think it will be the last. She has a way of keeping you engaged even when for me the drama was too much.

I am not a fan of no communication and I hate when character’s don’t communicate! But that’s just me. And that is the only part of this book I didn’t really like. I lovvvvvvvved the connection all the character’s had. Logan is a character I would like to see more of.

I really fell in love with Willow she is the sweetest! I connected most with Anna, having a child who has asthma is the most scariest thing ever. Especially when they are young and don’t know to use the inhaler’s themselves when their breathing heavy or hard. Those feeling of having to be strong in the face of your child because you don’t want them to panic, yeah that is H – E – L - L… So I very much identified with Anna on that front. And there were times I didn’t really like her and that’s ok that to me is what makes second chance romances so good. You don’t have to like all the character’s all the time.

I didn’t much like Sean throughout the whole story but he grew on me and by the end I wanted to have all his babies! :)

So if you are in the mood for a hunky rock star second chance romance this is the book for you!

Angsty and dramatic second-chance rockstar romance

This is the third book in the Sixth Street Bands series, but it can standalone. It’s the first book I’ve read, and I was easily sucked in to all of the drama and intensity.

Sean and Anna are soul mates. They met in high school and fell in mad love, but with Sean’s band, Caged, on the cusp of success and Anna about to start law school, it all fell apart in one devastating night, leaving them both shattered. Four years later and Sean has become the playboy manwhre drummer of a hit rock band. But he’s never forgotten about the girl that got away, and when they are reunited once again, neither of them will be the same.

I’m a sucker for both rockstar romances, and second-chance-romance, so I was really excited to start this book. I was immediately sucked in, and I loved the way the author brought the emotion as we were introduced to two characters who so obviously had never moved on from each other, and I was all set for epic swoon. And then the drama. OMG, there is SO much between Sean and Anna. One of the first hurdles they face is something that is usually a big turn-off for me Anna knew she was pregnant with Sean’s baby when they broke up, and hid it from him - NOT COOL!, and honestly I did struggle with it, but I was intrigued by the story so I bravely carried on. And as if that isn’t enough, they have to rehash their issues from the past that tore them apart, Sean’s reputation, the rockstar lifestyle, and a whole heap of other women and miscommunication drama. It’s angsty and emotional, and there were times that I wanted to take these two and shake them and tell them to just TALK TO EACH OTHER! In fact, there’s a whole part of this book that had me wondering what the hell was happening, honestly confused and wondering why they weren’t talking to each other. Communication is a real issue for these two, and yeah, it’s frustrating, but there is something about their chemistry that kept me captivated. They truly belong together, their love for each other is so beautifully written, and it’s just a matter of riding out the storm until they get through it all and make their way back to each other.

“You said that you wanted to be the reason, and you are. You're the reason for everything. And if you ask me 'why' the answer will always be the same. Because I love you.”

I loved Sean’s journey throughout the book. He goes through a lot, and he completely turns himself around, and I really enjoyed watching that happen for him. I also loved the way his relationships with his friends and family were explored. It added a lot of depth for him as a character, and I particularly loved Willow’s part in the story and the relationships between her and Sean.

I also loved the tie-in with the music. It is such a central part of Sean’s life, and I loved the way it was brought into the book.

She didn’t put the music in my head, but without her, I couldn’t hear it. She was the muse.

I enjoyed this story. I always love an intense romance, and that’s exactly what I got with this one. I could feel the connection between Sean and Anna, I love the way it was explored, and their love story was sexy, passionate and super swoony. The drama and angst was a bit much for me, especially because most of it was caused because they just didn’t talk to each other, but angst-lovers will love it. The strong writing kept me glued through all the ups and downs, and it ends in a really great place.

I listened to this as an audiobook, and the narration was sensational. Jacob Morgan and Elena Wolfe bring these characters to life, and I could feel every moment of heartache, swoon and hotness. I’m definitely curious to check out more of this series.

I couldn’t get past the heroine’s selfish behavior in keeping very important information from the hero. Add the pacing issues, the over-the-top drama, communication issues, numerous misunderstandings, and the sorry excuse for a hero..it’s safe to say this story didn’t work for me.

I have just finished this book, and the first word that comes to mind to describe it is epic.
I truly enjoyed the first two books in this series, but they were like appetizers -really good appetizers. This was a full, five course dinner served at the big table with wine pairings.

While I know nothing about the lifestyle, challenges and pleasures of touring musicians and bands, it is evident that the author does, which makes for a credible and authentic setting. But the heart of the story is universal: couples fall deeply in love, but because they are human they do stupid stuff that causes pain and breaks them apart. Then they have to work really hard when the opportunity arises to recapture it, often with a few steps back for every step forward. The story could be told with characters from any walk of life, but Sean the musician and Anna the prospective law student make great protagonists. The challenge of attaining each of their dreams while making a relationship work highlights the human flaws in each of them, but eventually leads to discovery of the growth they need to have to make a relationship work. Sean is a good guy who does stupid stuff and has to learn how his actions affect others. Anna has to figure out what it is she really wants and how to get it without losing herself. Toss all this together with band mates, managers, lawyers, family, groupies, and record label demands, and you get one heck of a tale.

This is a really great, engrossing book filled with wonderful characters, and written so beautifully you can lose yourself in the story. It could have been a simple, second-chance narrative like so many that pop up these days. This one is different in the level of depth and nuance it attains. If you are in the mood for this type of book, you will not regret the time you spend looking in on Sean, Anna, and the people in their world.

I’d give this a 2.5...

Something was definitely missing. It kept me reading thus 2.5 but I guess I wanted to feel more from Sean’s love...

I hated that he cheated when he was young (he breaks up with her then sleeps with a girl and next day regrets it but feels so shit so instead he becomes a manwhore

I guess I wanted more from the pain he went through. Even during times of separation during he book, he was sad but I wouldn’t even say devastated

Further... I don’t know something was missing generally. The love or passion.

I would’ve loved if she rejected him earlier and if more time was used to build a strong foundation for them.

In the epilogue, I remember a part where he says she’s not worried about other women cause we’re stable now.

As a woman, If the guy I’m with cheated once and was a manwhore after, I feel like that needed a serious discussion.

I don’t know I guess for me 2nd chance romances are hard for me to accept. I think a lot of the issues were glosses over.

Second chance, rockstar romance. This book is about a couple that met in high school. Their love was something beautiful and tender but when the hero, Sean, gets the offer of a lifetime he wants his Anna-baby to come with him to live his rockstar dream. Anna has dreams of her own, she wants to be a lawyer, and she’s asked Sean for some time before she can go with him.

Sean takes Anna’s request for time as a rejection and because of it, he goes and ruins everything they have together. One bad night filled with alcohol and bad choices have destroyed their once unbreakable love.



Four years later, Sean has achieved success and fame but he still yearns the one thing money can’t buy, love.

Anna’s beloved grandma has passed away, and after getting some beautiful roses from the one that got away, she finds herself backstage at a concert in the presence of the blue eyes that shattered her heart years ago.

Can Sean and Anna rekindle their romance or will the secrets and all the pain will simply finish destroying everything for good?

This was a sweet second chance, rockstar romance. The writing style felt a bit disorganized and had me lost a couple of times. The characters were a little inconsistent and that also deducted points from my rating. Otherwise I enjoyed reading this book.

WHAT A STORY!
I didn’t know what to think going into this book. I loved the other two in the series but I knew this would be different from the first chapter. This book…what can I say? It had it all. Raw emotions and well written characters. Sean was flawed, wonderful, impetuous, and so in love with his Anna. Sometimes peple are more than who they appear to be, and Sean was that. On the surface he was a typical manwhore rock star. But then the author takes us on his journey and when you understand him better he is a swoon worthy hero. Usually one of the MC’s great on my nerves but not in this book. I could understand each of there points of view (I’m so glad this book flipped between the viewpoints) I cried so hard at the end and I loved the payoff!

"You said that you wanted to be the reason, and you are. You're the reason for everything. And if you ask me 'why' the answer will always be the same. Because I love you."

That one line and I was toast. Crying ugly.

I can't say much more without spoilers but this: I loved Willow.

Where to begin with this book? Let's start with WOW!!! This book has it all; angst, pain, happiness, LOVE, beauty. Sean's character certainly has his flaws but there is also something incredibly raw about his character that makes him so redeemable. His interactions with Willow made my heart melt.

This book is not a fluffy, upbeat love story, but that's part of its charm. Her descriptions of Austin and Lake Travis made me feel like I was there. I loved the depth of her characters and I was engrossed from chapter one. I can't wait to see what Jayne Frost comes up with next. However, judging by the progression of her series, I will be highly anticipating her next book!
