தமிழ்மகன் (பிறப்பு: டிசம்பர் 24, 1964) தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர் ஆவார். இவரது இயற்பெயர் வெங்கடேசன். வளவன், தேனீ ஆகியவை பிற புனைப் பெயர்கள் ஆகும். இதுவரை ஏராளமான சிறுகதைகள், கட்டுரைகள், சில நாவல்கள் எழுதியுள்ளார். அறிவியல், சமூக சிறுகதைகளை சுவாரசியமான நடையில் எழுதி வருகிறார். திரைப்படம் தொடர்பான கட்டுரைகள், திரைப்படங்களுக்கு உரையாடல்கள் எழுதி உள்ளார். இவர் எழுதிய மானுடப் பண்ணை எனும் நூல் தமிழ் வளர்ச்சித் துறையின் 1994 ஆம் ஆண்டுக்கான சிறந்த நூல்களில் புதினம் வகைப்பாட்டிலும் “எட்டாயிரம் தலைமுறை” எனும் நூல் 2008 ஆம் ஆண்டுக்கான சிறந்த நூல்களில் சிறுகதை வகைப்பாட்டிலும் பரிசு பெற்றிருக்கின்றன.

Sujatha, the heart-throb Tamil writer of an entire generation, passed away in 2008. Tamilmagan is an author who tries to evoke the haal of a Sujatha work through wit and pace. This novel is based in the glitzy Tamil film industry and traces the life journey of an aspirant actress. The regular tropes of casting couch, political ambitions, travails at a shooting spot etc are present. In "Kanavu Thozhirchalai", a classic Kollywood based novel, Sujatha evokes the absurdities and chaos of the film industry in a cathartic way. Tamilmagan falls short of mastering the third key Sujatha element ( Wit and pace, being the first two) : Emotion.
