I don't know where to start really??? Maybe with I can't believe that I actually read this?? I mean, I should've expected it really. The cover art basically says it all . . .
But look. There was hardly any real plot other than the fact her family is completely nuts and needs to go to family counselling. They hired a PI to follow her!!! NOT OKAY. Her brother was so freaking controlling and possessive over her and a complete and upper hypocrite. Tyler and whatever the main characters name was, I think it's Amber, had hardly any plot development. Just !! I must all of a sudden believe that they're in LUURVEEE. But??? I wonder if these two sat down for more than two hours and talked if they would still like each other then.
To suggest that all books in this genre have no substance to them but the spicey spicey stuff (#mature 19 year old) to them would be rude af. Because books can have the heat and have good plot and good, well developed characters.
This just wasn't one of them.
In my book group we have a "trashtastic" saying coined by Emer, meaning that you know books are trashy but enjoyable anyway despite their glaring faults (See Lux series for reference) but are enjoyable af that you don't give a shit anyways.
This just wasn't one of those.
Let's not tell anyone I read this. I'm trying to forget that I read it.

This book is what kicked off my festive reads for 2017.
Let's hope it's only uphill from here because apart from a few scenes towards the end this didn't hit anything I want from a festive book.
The book begins and instantly we have the H fuck a random woman in a club bathroom and we get in depth details of this, it's not the way I want a romance book to begin. I know the H/h have other lives until they meet each other, but having this as a major first scene, to show what a manwhore the hero is does absolutely nothing for me or to prepare me for the romance ahead.
Okay, I got past that. Hated the heroine's family. Controlling, overbearing, a brother who I disliked on sight and it only grew and grew, even when he 'redeemed' himself I still hated him.
Then we have the snark-fest heroine. She never let up. It was bitter snark constantly.
All that I can forgive, but not to put barely any Christmas in a Christmas book!! I'm taking my figgy pudding home, sir! And no, there's no 'god bless everyone' here.
I realize from all the glowing 5 star reviews, I'm little miss no mates in the corner again. I don't care. There's no Christmas in this book!!!!! Where's the snow? the carolers? the jingle all the way? I needed Santa's ho ho ho'ing to wash my eyes of that toilet banging!

This family is crazy..Amber's parents were batshit. Her brother Luke was off and on, Again we get another manwhore Tyler, who can't believe that this was Amber the girl he liked in College and took her virginity and then left behind. Amber was shocked that this was Tyler the guy she was crazy about in college. Tyler immediately went after Amber, and she resisted for a little bit, but then gave in, and I have to say that Tyler grew on me, I was glad she ended up with him. But what about her crazy ass family?

An all-around read with loss, sorrow, pain, family drama, sweet, chemistry, good characters, good plot line, and secondary characters you want to choke.
This Christmas will be a bit different from the more recent ones of the past. Amber gets the best gift of all but she tries not to let it show. Amber was a sweet, smart, well adjusted adult. She had the family from the other-side. The way they treated her was just so different from her brother. It was almost an old school process. The unmarried women stayed home with her family. She was not permitted to spread her wings and fly free. She was expected to take care of the family business. She did not just stand still and take the mistreatment but at the same time I felt she could have been firmer in her stance.
Years ago, Tyler meet the perfect woman. Life circumstances happened and it was all gone. I don't think that Tyler purposely set out to hurt Amber but it happened and seeing her again gave him that chance to correct past mistakes. Once he finds out that his fantasy girl happens to be the little sister of his best friend and business partner, that should of been the time to come clean and tell it all. But no of course that was not how it happened. There was some family drama. How Luke and Tyler stayed friends was just amazing to me.
Let me just say that Luke was an ass, but at the same time I could understand his viewpoint. Amber was his sister.

I think this is one of Amy's best books yet. Amber and Tyler have a history that nobody knows about. So when Tyler shows up for Christmas with her brother Luke, Amber kind of freaks out. Tyler has never forgotten Amber, but he is not one to go back and find women. So when Tyler walks into Lukes house and sees Amber he thinks Christmas is looking up. These characters are wonderfully written and the story is great. I am hard pressed to like second-chance stories. They are usually drawn out and not all that well written. But this one is great. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

Luke and Tyler were heading to LA looking for spots to expand their food delivery business; but they took the time to stop and enjoy a lively club Luke knew about. While Luke went to get their drinks, Tyler was checking out the woman dancing in a tight red dress! This would be his lucky night, right before he had to meet Luke’s parents and sister.
There was only one female that meant anything special to Tyler. Even when he was enjoying the woman in the red dress, he thought of Amber. Why did Luke’s sister have to have that name? It made him uncomfortable. When ‘red dress’ returned to the dance floor to wait for him, he and Luke headed out the door – after all, they did have an early flight to catch.
Luke’s parents were thrilled to meet Tyler. They called Amber into the room since she was finishing up the dinner preparations. As she rounded the corner, she saw Tyler whom she hadn’t seen since college days. He was her first, and all the memories came rushing back. As they all sat down to dinner, Luke’s parents fussed with pride about his business success. Amber was running the family business, but as she opened up about her dreams to have her own dance studio, her dad redirected her to the business he started to pass down to his children. He said she should continue with that to pay off her student loans, and one day she might reconsider a dance studio if he can hire an outsider to take over his business. Her mother was against that idea since an outsider would not realize the family tradition and investment they put into their business dream. Apparently Amber’s dream could wait.
This was a very good book. It highlighted the disparity between how Luke’s family treated him and the dreams for expanding his own business versus how they treated their daughter and her dreams of a dance studio. It also brought Tyler and Amber back into each other’s lives. Now she might be able to resolve things and get Tyler out of her heart one and for all. But when Luke discovers them together, the business partnership with Tyler might come to an end!
The story-line was really good. The characters were very well described so that the reader could empathize with their situations. This was an intense story and well-paced to hold the reader’s attention. I definitely recommend reading this one!

Family jelousy, love, heartbreak and really hot juicy scenes. This book is an all around. Whatever you are feeling reading it has it!

What he did not expected was that that Amber was his Amber! He cannot believe it and every cell of his body is pulling towards her. The attraction is unbelievable. They start seeing each other behind, till the moment Lukes "finds out" and threats Tyler with their company. What will he do?

What would you do if your brother the golden child in your home brought home his best friend and business partner home for Christmas? What if this same man is the man who took your virginity, you had fallen in love with him even though you didn't mean to and left you? Would you try and stay away or think what if one more time will make it all better?
Tyler isn't looking for love heck he can't seem to find it since Amber made a lasting impression on him that he hasn't gotten over since. Little did he know going home with his friend and business partner Luke would lead him full circle to that girl now a woman that he can't seem to get over. Will he ever get over her or is this possibly his second chance?
Amber hasn't gotten over her first love. Though she didn't realize how deeply he had effected her until she sees him again. What's a girl to do ignore him of course. However when the spark she use to feel is still there she wonders will one more time really be so bad? Can she get over her first love or will there be more to their story before the holiday is over?
This is an amazing story about two people who have never found the one because when they did they let them slip away. There are many ups and downs in this story that I want to tell you all about but don't want to ruin the story for anyone else. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone

Tyler is going home with his business partner/best friend for the holidays he never thought he would run into the one he left behind. Amber was coming to greet her brother and his friend when the breath left her body when she saw the guy she lost her virginity to walking in behind her brother. Amber tries to pretend she doesn't know him but Tyler isn't having that. Tyler can't believe his luck when he sees Amber but he isn't going to let this chance slip away before he can do something about it. Amber has always wanted to open a dance studio and consignment store but he parents keep forcing her to run the family business. When she tells them that she is going to open her own business things blow up. Tyler can't believe how different Amber's parents treat her than they do her brother and it upsets him. Tyler and Amber manage to sneak some time for themselves in and her brother finds out and loses it over it. Can Tyler and Amber survive her family and have a relationship? Will Amber get her dream and start her studio?
I loved this book I couldn't put it down once I started and read it late into the night. The chemistry between Amber and Tyler is sizzling hot. This was an amazing story and I would recommend it to any of my book friends to read. Its a must read. Another five star hit by Amy Brent.

I just finished Brother's Best Friend For Christmas. If I could have given this book 10 stars I would have. I gave it five because that is the limit. In order for me to give five stars the book has to be exceptional.
This is my favorite story by Amy Brent and I have enjoyed everyone one of her novels. This one hit all the marks. It was romantic, dramatic, had angst, a bit of humor, made me cry and the steamy scenes so steamy you need a cold shower when you are done.
Its hard to lament on the parts of the story that are so awesome without giving away spoilers. But I loved the characters. Tyler the bad boy who has overcome so much and carries so much love in his heart as well as loyalty. We are led to believe he is the bad boy but really he carries his heart on his sleeve. He is so romantic. Amber who is going through so much because of expectations that should not be put on to people but in reality we all have a little of that in our lives, make them a perfect couple.
Luke for most of the book I disliked and thought he was a jerk but he redeems himself. Maybe he needs his own story so we can better understand him.
I very rarely read a book more than once, but I think this might be one I will read again when I'm looking for something to fill the spots the emotion and romance hit in this fantastic novel.

rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. I enjoyed this book...few areas made me want to throttle some of the characters. we meet Tyler, businessman with his bff Luke, on a night on the town before heading to LA. one night stands are what gets him by but he still.thinks about the one from college. Amber, whose life is controlled.by her parents, wants to own a dance studio but her.dreams aren't important. her brother is home with his business partner but when she hears the voice...it seems so familiar. coming face to face with the man who brought her pleasure has unnerved her. Tyler is shocked to see Amber in front of him...the one that he left behind for new York and damn she's a spitfire and has him needing her. bantering back and forth have Tyler and Amber wanting one another. luke warns Tyler to stay away from his sister...yrs too late. a night out has ends in heated makeout session and lust overload. sneaking about and denying accusations lead to Tyler wanting to help Amber and Amber needing more of tyler. when dreams can become reality ambers life is turned upside down by those who she trusts the most and Tyler needs Amber like he needs his next breath...but at what cost?

Tis the Season to be Jolly but what will it be like for Amber and Tyler? Tyler's parents were drug addicts and he left them behind when he went to college, he also left his high school sweetheart, Amber, with a broken heart. Amber has to do what her parents and older brother say as she seems to be a disappointment to them. Now, years later, Tyler's business partner Luke invites him to spend Christmas with him and his Family over Christmas and he accepts as he can't remember having a happy time at Christmas in a family situation. Imagine his surprise when he finds out that Amber is Luke's little sister! Amber is such a sweet young woman and I couldn't help but like her and Tyler is so good to her unlike her own family. Their romance is re-ignited much to her family's horror. The passion between Tyler and Amber is off the charts and so well written that the snow is sure to melt as it's so HOT. With characters that are interesting, sexy, caring and loyal and such a good storyline, Amy Brent has surely penned another page turning winner of a book. I received an arc of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here.

I absolutely loved this Christmas themed book, anything Amy Brent writes I know I’m going to love it. I cried whilst reading this book as well as laughed and wished.
When Amber here’s her brother is coming home with his best friend she never expected it to turn out to be her ex boyfriend from college, but the feelings he stirs in her when she sees how sexy he still is.
That voice that’s what Tyler thinks when he hears it shocked to discover that it belongs to Amber the only girl he had a relationship with u til he left her for New York.
What Tyler witnesses happening in the house Luke makes sound so happy he can’t believe how they treat Amber, and he’s not going to sit back and just watch. Can the feelings they had in te past come back or will they be stronger for each other, but when problems arise will they be able to face them together or will it tear them apart.
This is a very Romantic story that will have you not be able to put this book down I was gripped from page one. This book is highly recommend to everyone to read it.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Wow! What a wonderful book! I absolutely loved this story. Amber and Tyler were an amazing couple. The chemistry between them was undeniable. I loved how Tyler was so willing from the beginning to defend and support Amber. She unfortunately was not treated and supported the way one should be by her parents. Amber was such a strong woman, wiling to stand up to those who wanted to control her and not realize she is a grown woman able to make her own choices about the job she wants to do and who she wants to date. Tyler and Amber met while in college and dated a few months. When they meet again and realize who the other one is neither can deny that they still have feelings for one another. They are so great together and the support they have for one another is amazing. Both have so much in common and I could not put this book down. The story is so well written and I think it is one of Amy Brent's best books. I loved that it was a Christmas themed book right in time for the holidays.

Review: Holy smokes! Ms. Brent doesn't fail again with this one! In fact, this one starts off sizzling and never relents! This novel is the perfect way to get and stay toasty! Wow the chemistry between Amber and Tyler is off the charts!
There is so much drama within the Duffield family especially regarding Amber. Tyler surprised me when he didn’t take the easy way out and in the end earned everything he received.
Such a great story…A MUST READ, especially during this holiday season!!

I'd give this book ten stars if I could. I was captivated from the first page. Amber Luke's younger sister has a dream to open a dance studio. Her family is against the idea and insists she take over the family business. Tyler an old fling of Amber's and Luke's best friend is still extremely attracted to Amber and is very supportive of her dream. When Luke discovers that Tyler is with Amber, he blows a gasket and dissolves their partnership. Amber's controlling parents are no better. They disown Amber cutting her off completely from the family. How can Amber survive? How can she realize her dream? Will Tyler continue to support Amber during this distressing period in her life? Will they get their HEA? This story is profoundly emotional and frustrating but also romantic with amazing sex. A one-click must.

So I loved this book and it is a very close second to Single Dads Christmas Present.
This had a good storyline and good characters.
Tyler and Amber met and had a two month fling when she was a freshman in college and he was a senior. After their fling, he moved to New York City, to Amber, never to be seen again.
Now years later, Ambers at her parents house to meet her brother business partner and best friend. You can only imagine her surprise when she sees Tyler again. It appears she has a good family life to Tyler, who grew up with drug addicts for parents. He soon found out how false that was. Let’s face it, her family was crazy!! Read this story to find out why and how Amber and Tyler were constantly pushed away from each other!!

What a great story. I’m really enjoying the stories and characters that Amy Brent brings to life in her books and I’m looking forward to reading more. In this story Amber is gearing up to spend the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays with her brother who has been living in New York, her parents and her brothers buisness partner, who she never met... atleast she doesn’t know she has. Tyler is her brother’s buisness partner and her long lost fling from college. That who rocked her world Nd then left after two. On this to go off to start a life without her. Now they’re stuck together for the h9lidays and all those old feeling spark to life. Feelings that bring on more than just lust between them, but feeling of a different kind from everyone in her family. Read on for an amazing adventure and romantic ride.

LOVED IT!!!
A nice Christmas themed story, that is hot as h€ll!
Amber, while happy to hear her brother is coming home for Christmas, gets a shock when he brings his best friend home with him only for him to be her ex boyfriend from college, who left her when she needed him!
Tyler, is equally as shocked when he hears her talking and realises his best friends sister, is an ex who he still thinks is incredibly sexy!
The story is full of angst, red hot sex and you’re willing them to get a HEA.
But will they?
When problems start coming, will they be able to face them head on together or will it tear them apart?
Highly recommended!

Wow! This one really tugged on my heartstrings. Amy Brent was able to how easy it is to push someone else's dreams aside for your own agenda without even realizing it. Full of confusion, grief, heartache but also passion, extremely intense chemistry and one fun drunken night, this book will keep you on your toes. I couldn't put this one down and it served as a good reminder of what the holidays should be about...family. Whether the one you are born into or the one you make. A wonderful second chance romance, when he left Amber all those years ago he never looked back so when his best friend brings him home for the holidays and he just happens to have a sister called Amber it has to be a coincidence...right?
Pushed around by her family and pressured to do what they want her to do Amber is one straw away from walking out so she tunes out the name of her brother's friend however when she hears his voice a whole lot of memories come flooding in.
Against family wishes they give each other another chance and that is when the story really picks up as Tyler tries to convince Amber and her family that rather than splitting apart because of him, can't they rather all celebrate...together.

Well written book with great storyline and plot. A bit different than the usual of this type of sipling books.
A story about Tyler and Amber. Fate always has plans and they are not always the ones you think. Tyler was Ambers first and everything. An amazing second chance story. Sometimes a bit confusing but worth the read.
Lots of chemistry and hot scenes. I like the main characters and how they develop. The story flows nicely and it is very captivating from first to last chapter. I like it is written in dual POV. That gives a lot more to the story. I like it has an epilogue.
The author has delivered a story that is worth the read!

Amber & Tyler were together in college but when Tyler left he broke Amber’s heart. Years later Tyler meets his bf and business partners sister who happens to be Amber. Sparks fly and Amber & Tyler can’t keep away from each other but when Luke her brother and parents try to control Amber it’s Tyler who stands by her and supports her. I love Tyler & Amber together and how much he stood by Amber. You will definitely want to throttle her parents when u Read how badly they treat Amber. Overall a good story that had be interested all the way until the end.

Amy Brent you are an amazing writer I love this book it makes you believe in second chances, Amber and Tyler rekindle a lost love from there college days it’s so hot a steamy between them but her brother Luke and her mum and dad are far from happy and want to break them apart now Amber must choose between her love for Tyler or her family she chose love and Tyler feels so bad this is pulling them all apart, now with no help from her parents she is losing everything, will they have a happy Christmas, will they come together as a family and will love conquer all read this book to find out. Romance, angst, family issues, Hot 🔥romance with an HEA. What more could a girl want. Absolutely for me the best Amy Brent has ever written. The storyline was perfectly executed and so well written, not even a little typo. I enjoyed this fabulous book and both of the main characters Tyler and Amber so much. The perfect handsome hunk, with his dirty talk and sassy straight talking Amber were made for one another. Thank you so much Amy for the privilege of doing this review. This is my honest review of an ARC I received.
