Update, December 8, 2021: A prequel story (that is stand-alone) about the early military career of General Simpson ("The General") is in the final editing stages now, and will be released soon, hopefully before the end of the year.
Dave Rockin’ Sloma (“My nickname was Dave Rockin’ because I liked to rock!”), AKA David Sloma lives life with passion, using his creative gifts to fly you on wild rides of imagination that hopefully inspire.
He’s been writing since he was about 7 (the earliest story he can remember writing is one about a shark, no doubt inspired by the movie JAWS), won a Remembrance Day poetry contest in grade 8, then wrote for his high school and university newspapers (including drawing comics and learning layout).
He has a few novels, short stories, poetry, and feature length screenplays selfpublished. David has also been published in many print outlets and online magazines over the years. His first professional fiction writing sale was the scifi story “Cyber” in 2003.
You can find his writing many places online (apart from his own site www.DavidSloma.com) including: Amazon, iTunes, Kobo, Barnes and Noble, and Smashwords.
He loved movies as a child (re: JAWS), and has vivid memories of being blown away by the original Star Wars movie in the theater. His film and TV adventures include being a screenwriter, producer, director, camera Op., editor, and sometimes actor.
He has produced and directed works for internationally renowned visionary painter Alex Grey, Grammy-winning singer Alannah Myles, many charities (for which he donated his time and skills), business clients, and local artists, through his production company Rockin’ Films. His work has been broadcast on major TV networks and specially channels.
His documentary film “Liberty Village: Somewhere in Heaven” received a grant from the National Film Board of Canada (NFB), and is available online from Amazon.com as a DVD, instant download, or online rental.
His short drama/comedy “Me and Pollyanna” was distributed by Big Film Shorts.
David’s entry in the Big Rock Beer “Eddies” commercial contest earned him an honorable mention.
He strives to make the world a better place, and prays that all beings will soon be at peace.
