It takes one tragic event to change a person’s entire outlook on life. You never know what you’re willing to do until you’re put in the position of having to make that decision. Meet Shonna Taylor, a college educated, hardworking wife who has lived a quiet lifestyle with her husband Curtis. Shonna’s life is flipped upside down by the loss of her husband, and then quickly spirals out of control into a life of heinous crimes and increasing danger when she becomes involved with Maximillian Williams III, an enlightened, awake, forward-thinking, and sexually enticing man she meets online. In the midst of her ruthlessness, Shonna discovers her alter ego, Slim Thick, who is cunning and conniving and cares nothing about danger. But things are never as picture perfect as they seem. Shonna continuously hides her true self from Max, who is carrying a secret of his own, and when it all hits the fan, Shonna realizes that no one, not even family, can truly be called friends.

I was truly wrapped into this story and totally engulfed in the rigid, rough and dangerous crime life that Shonna "Slim Thick" found herself wrapped up into. But, when the plot twist erupted near the end and new information was given about Max, I was deeply disturbed and it didn't make any sense in the scheme of things for me. So, unfortunately, for me, up until that last little piece was introduced, this was a 5 star read for me. At any rate, everyone has an opinion. It might still be a 5 star read for you.

Good read

This book was good although I couldn’t understand why she did some of the things she did. I guess for the thrill but I never seen that ending coming.
