It’s supposed to be the most wonderful time of year for Gabe and Josh Roman-Wyatt as they celebrate their first holidays as fathers, but someone’s war on St. Nick threatens to ruin their holly jolly Christmas.

The Norman Rockwell holiday they had envisioned implodes and shenanigans ensue in true Josh and Gabe style, but that only makes the couple more determined to rejoice in the love and joy they have found in one another. A Black Friday showdown, two foul-mouthed birds, one lumbersexual, ugly Christmas sweaters aplenty, four invading grandparents, and a sexy twist on an advent calendar lead up to oh, holy nights. Catch up with your favorite characters and meet some new faces in a tale that is sure to make you feel as warm as Josh’s creamy, hot-buttered rum concoction.

A Dye Hard Holiday is a funny story about two fathers trying to hold it all together as they juggle busy careers and family life while planning the perfect holiday season. Will they be rocking around the Christmas tree or will it be a blue Christmas? The book is approximately 50,000 words long and is not intended as a standalone book. This supplements the Curl Up and Dye Mysteries series, which should be read in order. This book contains sexually explicit material and is intended for adults 18 and over.

Seeing as how this is set during the holiday season, the mystery was lighter and the stakes not so dire.

As has been the norm for at least the last 2 books in this series, the love is strong between Gabe and Josh, and though they’ve been together for a few years, have married, and now have twins, the lust and loving have not faltered one teeny tiny bit.

This was really fun and quite funny, and definitely, silly sappy over the top. If you need to get into the holiday spirit and enjoy an established couple, this made me laugh multiple times. These two are devoted only to each other while still solving crime both big and small, and I have no complaints!

This holiday themed instalment, of the always sassy, sexy and sweet Curl Up & Dye series, wasn’t particularly a necessary story in the ever-expanding family lives of well-established couple Josh and Gabe, but I’ll be damned if it wasn’t a welcomed and joyful addition nonetheless.

A Dye Hard Holiday sees Josh and Gabe through their first holiday season as fathers to rambunctious baby twins, Dylan and Destiny. Starting just before Thanksgiving and seeing the Roman-Wyatt’s through Christmas and into the new year, this story is one filled with precious family moments—some sweet, some hilarious, and some downright sexy moments (because new parents need for get their loving on too!).

Keeping in tune with the rest of this series, this story also has a mini mystery plot, with Gabe and his police force trying to apprehend a pesky Christmas bandit. Like with the rest of the series, the mystery element plays second fiddle to the characters and their relationships, which is absolutely fine by me!

Although sure to be a lot of fun and frivolity for long-time fans of the series, I would NOT recommend reading as a stand-alone. This series has A LOT of characters to keep track of, which is only made more complicated by the fact that this series now interconnects (to a major degree) with its spin-off sister series, Road to Blissville—which runs parallel and practically features all of the same characters. In this instance, I fear that reading out of order would be a great detriment to overall comprehension and enjoyment.

I was disappointed with this book because it picks up a year later from the last book. Normally, that kind of time jump from book to book in a series wouldn’t bother me, but I was looking forward to the adoption and parenting experience of the twins. Maybe that’s mentioned in book 1 in the spin off series, but based on the reviews of that book, I know it’s not for me.

Hands down, my favorite of the series

This was fantastic. Oh, I've missed Josh and Gabe so much! They have the best banter. This book had the most awesome shenanigans! I pretty much lawled throughout the entire story.

Fans of the series, you don't want to miss this delightful holiday tale!

Sweet holiday story with Josh, Gabe, their babies and family. And of course, the Christmas bandit. It was quite hilarious at times. I love these guys and seeing them living their lives. I am definitely interested in Wren and Dare. This book takes place after books one and two of the Blissville series, which made me curious about Emory and Jon, how that all worked out even though I HATE the dead ex thing. I may just get brave and give it a try. But really, I couldn't care less about Kyle and Chaz. Oh well, can't love all the characters.

*** Filled with warm hearts and happiness ! *** Of course with this group, there are some twists, lots of snark, wit, seriousness, fun, and super sexy !
Awesome guys who are now parents, a town with a theft mystery, lots of thankfulness, and Christmas excitement. There's never a dull moment in this series !
Gabe and Josh are going strong,

coming up on twins, Destiny and Dylan's 1st birthdays. The four grandparents have come to town and want to buy homes to stay in Blissville. The whole gang from previous stories are in the picture, having fun, and some secrets.

Of course there is lots of hot sexiness, dirty talk and deeds with Gabe and Josh, wow! They are wilder than ever.

We get lumberjack antics, candy cane cuffs, an ex comes to town, an arrest, pole dancing, and sassy animals; oh, and a surprise tattoo.
So much fun, so much heart, I loved this book !
I'll never get enough of this series. Marvelous ! ENJOY !

3.5 Stars pushed to 4.5 for Joel Leslie's performance! 😍

Josh and Gabe return for holiday shenanigans.

Side note: even though this is Book #5 in the Curl Up and Dye Mysteries, this actually picks up after Unscripted Love and Someone to Call My Own in the Road to Blissville series, which is an offshoot of this series following Josh and Gabe's friends.

So, when I first started reading this I was somewhat confused because up to 9% it references situations that occurred in the two Road to Blissville books. However you don't really need to read those to follow along, but if you're a fan of Walker's writing style, and of the series in general, you might want to check those out before starting this.

Regardless, in this book there is a lot happening as Josh and Gabe's children are coming up on a year old and both sets of their parents come for several months. There's a mystery where someone keeps stealing and vandalizing all the Christmas decorations, some relationship drama between Josh's coworkers, and some news for bestie Meredith. It's a lot of love and life packed into all the craziness of the holidays.

Audiobook review

Haven’t gotten enough of Christmas yet? Well, you’re in luck. This book will definitely bring the feel of the holidays back. With a lot of snark, banter and sexy times. Hmm, that’s always a given with these books along with great friends and family and delicious food. It will also bring you candy cane handcuffs, naughty advent calendars and a mystery in the form Christmas Bandits that not only hung Santa in a flagpole, but also kept stealing valuable Christmas decorations across town. It was the perfect set up for a great holiday story.

I enjoyed listening to this book a lot. It was filled with everything we've come to expect from this series and this time the gang picked up another stray to add to the fold. It’s nice to see how their families are growing, how more are included into it. There’s so much love there, of all kinds. Like I mentioned before, this is a holiday story where the gang is preparing for all things Christmas – the perfect Christmas with ugly sweaters to go around. But say the plans that last, especially when an ex shows up on their doorstep to cause some drama, and then the Christmas Bandits strike a bit too close to home.

Like always, it’s been great to catch up with everyone we’ve come to know and love in his town. And just like always there will hardly be any moment of peace – because whenever there was a lull somewhere you can bet Savage and Sassy were there to liven things up. I still adore those creatures – if nothing else – this series is worth listening to for them only. But you know the rest of it is pretty great too.

Joel Leslie have taken these characters and made them his own. It’s clear in is performance that he loves this series and the characters that live in Blissville. He knows them, who they are to the core and it really shows. I think he connects a bit more with Josh, because that performance is always spot on. He gets Josh’s inner, and often not so inner, drama queen tendencies and his happy-go-lucky personality. But he also really gets Gabe and his protectiveness – and jealousy of anyone coming near Josh. Though I have to wonder; Josh’s apple pie might just beat Josh from that first place in his life I could just see Gabe’s murderous glare when his pie was threatened. 

A Dye Hard Holiday is highly recommended to everyone who's fallen in love with the people in Blissville and just can't get enough of them.

Fabulous festive visit with Josh and Gabe and all the rest of the Blissville crew. There's a lot of humour, a little bit of mystery, some douche-baggery from Josh's ex Trent, and a whole load of cute kids and family adventures.

I thoroughly enjoyed this peek into the lives of the Roman-Wyatt's as they look forward to the twins first Thanksgiving, Christmas and their first birthday.

All the usual gang is present and there's still a few surprises on the way as Gabe has to deal with a series of acts of vandalism that threaten to take all the fun out of Christmas.

There's also time for the usual hot and sexy loving readers have e come to expect from Josh and Gabe, including a rather memorable encounter with Josh's pole in the dance studio.

I've loved the Blissville series and this festive treat just adds to the all round fun.

ACK! I think I hella spoiled myself by reading this one before books 1 & 2 of the Blissville series. Damnit, this is why I wish more authors would do like LAW did for her Distance Between Us/Wilde's interconnected series...if either of those Blissville books were also labeled as books 4.25 & 4.5 (or some variation) for the CU&D series, this wouldn't have happened. *sigh*

So, yeah, lots of stuff referred to that I thought maybe I'd forgotten or had confused, but looks like were probably covered in those books. That said, I really liked the story. Josh & Gabe are still adorable (and hot!) and there were a couple of witty exchanges that had me LOLing. Still love Savage's perfectly timed outbursts and can totally see that becoming more of an issue when the kids get a little older. The case gets little development and that's okay because this is a tale more about family - the one you come with and the one you choose to make. Lots of happy, snuggly feels here.

If you haven't yet read this series yet (and seriously, why not?) just remember to slot this installment into the correct reading order (AFTER 1 & 2 of Blissville)!

Ahhhh I just love Josh and Gabe, they are just perfection together! IT was great getting a revisit with them and to see how the other couples and characters are doing in the Dye 'verse. I loved reading this one!

You'd definitely want to start with this series in order, and I highly suggest that if you haven't read about Josh and Gabe, you get on that! :D

Ah! Wintering in Blissville gets a bit complicated. Christmas bandits, parents holiday visits, and babies first cold. Getting quality couples time. Watching friendships blossom into relations. What a wild time!

This was a great addition to this series. 🙂👍🏻
Not much of a mystery but instead a wonderful first holiday season for Josh and Gabe with their baby twins and more and more expanding circle of family and friends. Sometimes sweet, sometimes emotional and sometimes hot. :)

Not sure if I'll try Meagan and Elijah's story, which would be next in the time-line but I'm definitely looking forward to Dare and Wren's story.

Giving this 4 stars because I got exactly what I wanted out of this, which is:

- I wanted to see the kids, because I KNEW they would be super cute, and they WERE! The kids are precious babies who are the perfect fit for Josh and Gabe. Twins, a boy and a girl, and I loved them.

- I wanted to catch up with these guys to see how the family dynamic was going and they are happier than ever, both doing well in their career, and their friends are also happy and doing good in their relationships.

I skipped the sex and the ridiculous detecting parts of the story because that's NOT what I wanted and by skipping those parts I can give this 4 stars. It still had forced jealousy and anger, and the "drama" at times was silly (to put it kindly) - it was beyond unbelievable.

I'm happy with this one and BONUS! Both of the sets of parents are moving to town, I believe they all live in Florida? Anyway, they are selling their homes and moving to live closer to Josh and Gabe and the grandkids. That is going to be such a hoot I am sure!

I've prepped the next book in the series but I don't know that I am going to be able to enjoy it as much as this one because this book was on the lighter side, where the next book I fear is meant to be more serious, and this series doesn't do serious well.

a cute short read, seems like you should read the first two blissville books before diving in to this one because you have a couple of new couples together that were in the last book.

overall a nice holiday book but i wish we had more with the mystery, felt like a forgotten part of the book, but oh well. i am going to finish out the series with the last book, and i don't know if i will continue with the blissville series but i know for me, never say never.

Finishing Touches on Romance!

Although I love this saga and I like read more about my favorite couple & their friends/family & babies & furry/feather babies & all the mysteries...this story could be cut in half. I understand that this was a finishing off of saga. However, how many times did we need to know how wonderful Josh is or how incredible Gabe is. I love this couple, though! On to the Road to Blissville...

This one was just okay for me - maybe if I had read it around Christmas and been in the mood for a Christmas story I would have liked it a lot more. But unfortunately I listened to it during the summer and there wasn't a lot of plot. The whole Christmas Bandits plot ended up being pretty lame and not a lot happened in this book. It probably doesn't help that I'm just not a big fan of Joel Leslie's voice. Don't get me wrong he does a great job of narrating it's just a personal thing with his voice for me.

I LOVE Aimee Nicole Walker’s Dye Mysteries series. When this holiday book came out there was no way I was going to miss it. Josh is one of my all-time favorite characters I’ve ever read. When you add Gabe into the mix they are the best couple ever. I love how they love not just each other but their babies and their friends.
It wouldn’t be a Dye Mysteries without a whodunit. In this installment Gabe and the rest of the town is trying to figure out who is trying to steal Christmas.
As we go from Thanksgiving to New Years with this crew we celebrate all the holidays. All the while trying to catch the thief and ring in the New Year without murder!
Like all the books in this series there’s something for everyone, minus angst. I laughed till it hurt, fanned myself at the sexy goodness, and ooo’d and ahhh’d along with the rest of them.
I can see what other characters the author could and hopefully will write. This is no the end of the characters of Blissville and I couldn’t be happier!

Nice addition to the Curl Up and Dye mystery series, but it's more of an excuse to spend the holidays in Blissville than a real mystery. The solution is a little lame, but the steam between Josh and Gabe is as hot as ever.

Curl Up and Dye Holiday picks up where Someone to Call My Own left off. I absolutely adore Josh and Gabe.

This holiday installment was such a treat! I sorely missed these guys and Josh’s brand of crazy when this series ended.
Curl Up and Dye was a fun festive read. It was nice to learn how parenting impacted Gabe and Josh’s life. The two learned that it’s not easy juggling marriage, careers and childrearing but they wouldn’t change a thing. Raising kids is about sacrifice and occasional invasion of the entitled grandparents brigade that turn up ever so often to revel in your payback suffering.

Aside from the children, it was also nice to catch up on other long lost friends such as Meredith. This story is full of everything you would want in a Christmas family rom-com featuring our Josh and Gabe. Be prepared to gorge yourself on dirty talk, holiday handcuffs and belly loads of laughter. Aimee Nicole Walker delivered a wonderful story perfect for the holiday season. Gabe and Josh fans will not be disappointed.
Btw, there are recipes included in this book. I’ve tried 2 and they were wonderful!

I absolutely love this series and these characters. Aimee Nicole Walker brings Josh and Gabe back to share their holidays and it's PERFECTION!!! I missed these characters so much. The love, chemistry and all around sexual and humorous banter between the two is enough to keep you captivated page after page. Add in those cute little babies, parents, and all the other couples I've grown to love and a few newbies, this story was pure magical BLISS!

I loved everything about this story. It was more on the lighter side but of course you can't have a Blissville story without some type of crime going on that keeps you in suspense while you enjoy all the other antics. I love that this author brought us such a great quick, fun, sexy read that showcases the family dynamic between these characters and I absolutely love seeing these two as dads. Josh and Gabe are so super cute and sweet with their babies.

I adore this author and she does an amazing job bringing some more Blissville crazy! Lol. I can't wait to read more from this series and see what else she has in store for us.

PERFECT HOLIDAY STORY FROM JOSH & GABE

If you want to laugh until you cry, don't miss this story. Of course those dirty birds, Savage and Sassy are progressing in their language skills. Makes me wish my dog could talk. Then there are those babies. Nothing better or sweeter than a baby's first Christmas. With both sets of parents staying with them, the inventive insta-wet moments were even funny. This story was just delightful in true Aimee Nicole Walker fashion and was a wonderful gift to all of the fans and followers of this series. This story includes in some way all the characters from the series and gives a push to some we might get to read about in the future. I appreciate the humor, love, devotion and the competitive, desperation and loneliness that come with this season. I think this story touched on all points perfectly. I love that this story focused on the love that surrounds us from our birth families and our chosen, hand picked family, whether the words are spoken daily or not. Can you tell, I just loved this story. THANK YOU FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL, TOUCHING GIFT. I'M WISHING YOU A BLESSED AND INCREDIBLE NEW YEAR!!! I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS AMAZING SERIES!!!!!

Another great addition to the series. Like the others I listened and read via Whispersync. Joel Leslie killed it again.

It's not a standalone, make sure you read the previous books first otherwise you'll be hopelessly lost!

Make sure you don't skip the recipe collection at the back, Josh's commentary is hilarious!
