After giving up eighteen months of his life for his club, the Disciples' president is finally tasting freedom again. Stone knows there's only one thing that might ever be as sweet, but she's too young, too perfect, too untouchable for a man like him.
A Disciple will fight like a savage to protect what matters.
Evie's life is pretty much blowing up in her face until Stone finds her broken down on the side of the road. Now if only she could get him to stop being the martyr and give them a shot at what she knows they both want.
It's high time this biker got the chance to let go and just cruise.
Drew Elyse spends her days trying to convince the world that she is, in fact, a princess and writing tear-jerking and sexy romance novels. Her titles include the Savage Disciples MC and Sailor’s Grave series.
When she isn't writing, she can usually be found pouring over books with a pot of tea beside her, obsessively building her Disney collections, binge watching her favorite shows, or baking all manner of unhealthy things.
She lives outside her hometown of Chicago with her husband and their fur babies, Luna and Duncan.
Cruise was the sixth and final book in the Savage Disciples series by Drew Elyse.
Stone was the President of the Savage Disciples. The last book, Combust, ended with Stone going to jail for one of the brothers, who would have been sent away for a lot longer than the eighteen months that Stone did. Cruise then picked up with Stone’s release.
Stone had met Evie previously. She was a waitress at a diner he frequented and was 20 years his junior. They were attracted but Stone couldn’t get passed the age difference as well as her sweet innocence. He had determined to stay away; however, the day he was released their paths crossed again.
Normally I’m not thrilled with age difference storylines, but in this case I loved it. Stone was humble and knew she deserved better. At twenty seven, Evie was surprisingly innocent and shy. We learned why once her history began unraveling. As Elyse developed the storyline and peeled back the layers of the personalities and plots, the two fit perfectly. In the end it had a sweet vibe to it. Through the MC drama, it also had a suspenseful and mystery vibe to it as well.
True to form, the MC brothers and their spouses were an integral part of the drama, displaying a tight family bond that couldn’t be broken. In the end, it was well written, well developed and entertaining. I’m disappointed this was the last book of the series, but I’m hopeful we’ll get an offspring spinoff soon. Emmy would be the prefect start....hint hint.
Savage Disciples MC has been a very enjoyable series and I'm sad it has come to an end. I was happy to read at the end that there will be a spin off series revolving around the tattoo shop. Cruise is book 6 and it's Stones story. If your familiar with this series you know he went to prison for 18 months due to a situation Daz found himself in. Before Stone went to prison he was frequenting a diner where a young woman worked who caught his eye. That young woman was Evie. So overall it was an enjoyable end to this series but for me book 5 was so awesome I found myself bored at times with this book. IMO I think my expectations were to high, while I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy it I guess I just needed more.
The book was decent, I liked the main characters but I could have used more depth in the writing. It was a little too sweet at times for a biker book but I guess that is better than too violent.
A great story without boring moment. H was a little stubborn at first, but he turned out to be a sweetheart. h was storng and independent that you couldn't help but admire her strength. Can be read as standalone: although there were characters from previous stories, I didn't get headache to catch their names.
My first book from this author. I liked the writing style and did not get bored. The pace was good. I normally like OTT pushy alphas but I understood the slow pace of Stone (H) in this story coz he felt he wasn’t good enough for a young and innocent woman like Evie (h). Took them a while to be together and it did make me believe that this was not an impulse-based relationship.
Safe as H was celibate since he met the heroine and took them 2 yrs to get together as he was imprisoned.
My body was an inferno but I never wanted to stop burning.
Great series, I love all these characters. Cruise is the last in the series and contains Evie and Stone's road to love.
An unlikely relationship but it worked.
Stone is the president of the MC, he's in his 40's and just been in prison for 18 months doing time to protect a brother and Evie who is 27 has only just left home after living with controlling religious parents who were forcing her into a marriage she didn't want.
Stone already knew Evie before he was sent to prison, Stone had gone to the diner daily just to be near her. Although Stone wanted Evie he never saw himself as good enough and to old for her and didn't get the chance to make a move before prison.
On the day of his release Stone see's Evie broken down and down on her luck with a lot of things, broken car, evicted from her apartment and no money. Stone shows up like a knight on a harley at the side if the road and he's not taking no for an answer, he's thought about Evie for 18 months and he's not letting her go.
I liked these two as a couple. Stone was sweet yet dominant with Evie, and Evie was beginning to experience new things including friends which she never had after being secluded from society growing up.
Evie and Stone had chemistry, it was slow burn until they got there with Stone trying to do the right thing and take it slow with Evie but she turned out to be quit the vixen.
There's club business in Cruise, enemies, threats, action and danger and as always in this series a great family atmosphere among the characters. No unnecessary violence or sexual acts, the Savage disciples are a family club which makes this one of the more enjoyable MC series to get addicted to with swoon worthy, hot and heart warming moments but also has some drama in the mix.
A recommended MC series. Each book can be read as a standalone, leads to a hea and each told in first person dual pov.
Cruise (Savage Disciples MC #6) by Drew Elyse is the final book in the Savage Disciples series. This is the first book I've read by Drew Elyse and it was so good! I'm only sad I read it out of order, though it can be read as a standalone. Just know, you do meet previous characters from the other books, so there is some history but Ms. Elyse does a great job to blend what may have happened in past books with the current story so you don't get lost.
This story stars the Savage Disciples president, Stone, who is newly released from prison for taking the fall for one of his brothers, and the woman who he can't seem to stay away from, Genevieve.
On his first night out of prison, he unexpectedly comes to Evie's aid when her car breaks down after a horrible day. Offering her a place to stay, he brings her home to the clubhouse where these two begin to reconnect and build their relationship. Add in the Savage Disciples club members, their old ladies, and danger from a rival MC, and you have a novel that will keep you glued until the last page.
I enjoyed Ms. Elyse's writing and her characters of Evie and Stone. Written in dual POV, we get to see the strength of vulnerability of both Stone and Evie, which I found appealing especially in Stone's case.
Overall, Cruise by Drew Elyse is a great MC romance novel and I happily recommend. I look forward to reading more by this author and can't wait to go back and read the whole series from book one.
(I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book I received for free in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)
Perfect ending to this series even though I didn't want the series to end. This book could be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend the whole series. Stone, the club president, is 20 years older than Evie and he fights his attraction to her. He tries to keep his distance because he feels like she deserves more in life. Stone is one of those men who can be hard as nails but is willing to sacrifice all for his club brothers and anyone else who depends on him. Evie made the perfect match for Stone. I really hated to see this series end. This author made me like all of the characters in each book and I could have kept reading about them. Hopefully her next series will be as good.
Stone and Evie rock!!! Seriously, this series couldn't have ended any better. It takes a special woman to stand by the side of a MC President, but Stone found the perfect one. Evie was everything a man could want and she only wanted Stone.
We get action, drama and cast updates in this final book in the series....I was sad to see it end until I was given the hint of what was to come.
Savage Disciples finale! Bitter, Sweet thats how i feel after finishing Cruise. I have loved the Savage Disciples MC series and like all good things they must come to and end....
What an ending it was!!! With the MC's President, Stone getting his HEA. Stone has always gone above and beyond for his club even going to prison for 18 months for something he didn't do. To save a brother, but it came at a price to him. The price was regret. He regret's that he never got to explain why he had to turn down the one girl that he just couldn't seem to stay away from, Evie. She's young, innocent and beautiful. She has her whole life ahead of her, and he's lived much of his already. He just couldn't take her down his path. It was thoughts of her that got him through the hours of loneliness and isolation during his time in prison.
Evie's life is full of struggles, from leaving a controlling home to trying to make it on her own. Evie is determined to finish school to become a nurse. While trying to balance school and work Evie puts her trust in the wrong person. She finds herself homeless and to top of an already craptastic day her car breaks down leaving her stranded. That is until a knock on her window and when she looks up the last person she ever expected to see was... Stone the hot biker that she had thought liked her. Enough for her to feel brave and ask him out, for him to then disappear!!
Even though Stone really didn't think he was good enough and thought she would be better off with someone more her age. I couldn't of hope for a better character for him. For me Evie was an "Old Soul" and i loved that she wanted to fight for him.
It may seem a bit of a slow burn with their relationship. But i think it worked better for them and their story. If your looking for a great MC series you don't want to miss out on the Savage Disciples!
Love, love, love reading MC stories. Stone and Evie's story. Stone is the president of the Savage Disciples MC, and is getting out of prison after serving time. He didn't commit the crime but he served for one of his MC brothers. The only thing he regrets about serving time was the last time he was at the diner and how he left things. Evie has runaway from home. Although she is an adult she left everything behind. Her family and what it meant to be looking behind all the time. Evie's car has stop running and she is on the side of a dirt road, in the dark and she doesn't have anybody to call, to help her. After sitting in her car awhile, she hears a rumble coming up behind her, but only one headlight. The person gets off the motorcycle and walks toward her side of the car. When he gets to her window she looks at him "Stone?"
I’ve read every book in this series and they just keep getting better. I couldn’t wait to read about the MC prez Stone. After reading what he gave up in the last one I just knew I was going to love him and his story. And I wasn’t wrong. And Evie is just right for him. It takes him a while to figure that out but once he does. He won’t let go. I loved every moment of this book and couldn’t put it down. I was up super late reading and got up tired for work the next morning but it was worth it. I don’t know if there is another book in the series but if there is I can’t wait to read it. I think Hook needs his own story. Great read!!!
Evie- what really annoyed me was the totally unrealistic dialogue when she was asserting her independence and telling stone he was not gonna control her or tell her what to do, like suddenly she became a super assertive woman. it was totally wrong and ruined the book. well tbh it was already ruined by corny dialogue, plot line and character development.
all in all this book summed up the whole series, disappointing and forgettable.
14/1/18 - one of my very fave series. first read when the original three books were released as the Disciples' Daughters, though the series evolved to the Savage Disciples MC. tough alpha males, strong loving females, wonderful children. plenty of action, danger, romance but the overall theme I see as family. love the writing style, the stories and the characters. a great series that I have no probs reading over again
24.10.18 - love the story, love the characters, great writing .. everything that makes for a perfect reading moment
I love a good series with ups and downs but this book felt really rushed. I like stone and evie but there was no twist of felt more like fluff and no omg moments. She had a crazy back story for evil but did not pull the trigger. I think not a great way to end the series like this. But what ever it sucks when fluff kills a good series. A huge let down for the final book
First thing to mention when people look at this review and get freaked out by seeing it's the sixth book in the series is...DON'T! You can definitely read this book as a standalone novel and not feel like you are missing too much of the background on each of the characters.
It was refreshing to read a romance story where there is some kind of age gap (Stone being 44 and Evie, 27) as most contemporary romance features characters around the same age or younger. What this book does highlight is that it doesn't matter if you are 27, 44 or 104 - love is love and can consume a whole person...and a door...and a bed... ;)
CRUISE gives me all of my Sons of Anarchy feels and then some and sits within a sub-genre of romance that I'm not too familiar with, but am becoming more and more involved with learning more. With the MC romance I have read so far, there is always that true sense of family within the clubs, a strong bond between people from all walks of life.
The story moves along at an easy pace and steers clear from over the top action for the sake of filling pages. The relationship between Stone and Evie for me, moves at the right pace and isn't rushed. It feels natural. The conflict towards the end of the book...I could have easily read more, which is only a credit to Drew. You know you are doing something right when a reader is literally itching to know more details!
The only small disappoinment is knowing that this is the last book in the series :( but also keen beans to learn that Drew is writing a spin off series! Until then.... it looks like I have five more books in this series to devour! :)
Evie has been taking care of herself for a while now, working at a diner, while putting herself through nursing school. It's at the diner where she meets Stone, the President of the Savage Disciples MC, and they strike up a friendship, but when she takes a chance & asks him out, he turns her down, and she doesn't see him again for 18 months. It's just her luck that the next time she sees him when her whole life has blown up in her face, and she's broken down on the side of the road with all of her stuff in her car. He's not accepting the lines she's feeding him, so she's forced to tell him the truth, and he takes her to the club with him. Now if he would just quit blowing hot & cold and give them a real shot, maybe they both could be happy. Cruise was a great story that I couldn't get enough of. Evie was a strong heroine that never whined, just kept on trucking, while the hero was a bit stubborn, but had a big heart. Together, they were very entertaining, not to mention HOT! Like when they finally gave into the chemistry shooting sparks, they lit the sheets on FIRE! And of course with the Savage Disciples and their old ladies being the cast of secondaries, the laughter never stopped with the antics going on! On top of that, the action was intense, the twists had the f-bombs dropping, and there were angst levels involved as well! Drew Elyse is a very talented author that is a big addiction for me, and I'm sad to see this series at an end, but will be impatiently waiting for her next amazing one to come out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
**ARC provided in exchange for an honest review** Cruise is the typical romance novel. We have a strong masculine character, determined but at the same time cute and a sweet heroine, naive, but who fights for what she wants. It was a light reading, amusing without major twists. It has beginning, middle and end. And the reader knows where the plot is headed. Stone is the president of the Savage Disciples, in his forties and has a platonic passion for the waitress at the diner he frequents. But he's never taken any action because he thinks he's not good enough for her. Evie is a waitress, is alone in the world, is in her early twenties, studies nursing and has a crush on her client. When she finally decides to take courage and invites him out, she is rejected. Eighteen months pass and these two are in not so good circumstances. Stone got out of jail. Evie is on the side of the road, in her car that does not work, deciding what to do with life, since she has just been evicted. The attraction still exists, even after so much time. Stone need to give some explain. Evie is hurt. How will these two understand each other? And it is this unfolding that we follow, the reason for his estrangement, and what happened in her life at that time. I liked both. Both are believable. Stone's indecision is well-founded. With so much difference between them, whether by age, or by life baggage, even lifestyle, it is normal for him not to want to approach Evie. She is from a world very different from his, very sweet and naive. The fact that he served time in prison is also a major aggravating factor in his opinion. Evie is determined. She left home, has no contact with her parents (I hate them by the way), works to support herself, studies to follow her dream, and knows that in life you have to run after what you want. And she wants Stone. The game of cat/mouse of the two is funny, he running away, she chasing. The reasons for Stone's arrest are explained, which made me like him even more. When the two finally sit and talk, and understand that they like each other, and it's worth embarking on a relationship, I almost let out a hallelujah. The final part presents a tension, with an emergence of a rival club causing trouble. It was a good book, funny, romantic in the right measure, with characters well-developed, sexy and that served to pass the time. Highly recommended. https://avidezliteraria.wordpress.com/
Man oh man, where do I start with this book? With this series? First I have to say this is the second of my all time, go-to, reread, favorite series that has ended this month. I had no idea going into this book that it was going to be the last book. So when I figured that out it broke my heart. But I guess all good things must come to an end. And what a better way to end a series than with Stone and Evie.
I have loved Stone since the beginning of this series. Though I have to admit even I pictured him a bit older than he is. Not that his age really matters to me. But ever since the beginning even though he's the president of the Disciples, you could tell he had a kind and gentle soul. And it wasn't any different in this book. I loved getting to get to know him a bit better.
I have to say that even though Evie was really young. I did enjoy her in this book. I thought she was a good match for Stone.
I loved this book from start to finish. Though I will admit that Stone calling Evie, "Bunny" all the time got on my nerves a bit. But other than that I really enjoyed the book. As I mentioned above I'm saddened to see this series come to an end!!!!
I'm giving this book 4.5 Stars out of 5!!!!!
***I received an ARC of this book for my honest review***
Cruise (Savage Disciples MC #6) by Drew Elyse Review ♡ 4.5✨ 2🌶
I really enjoyed this book!! It is very lighthearted and a fun read. I loved how it had such a good storyline. Stone and Evie were so perfect for each other and I just loved them together! I love an mc romance but sometimes you just crave a story that is on the shorter side but still amazing and this was definitely that!!
They were so cute and I loved how we got a glimpse into their future together aka having a family and getting married. I also loved how he was protective of her but such an alpha male when with others. I loved how feisty she was but also such a kind and sweet person. I also loved the chemistry they had and the sexual tension. I loved how she grew stronger in herself and grew as a person while healing from what happened to her. I loved how all the Disciples were so protective of her. I just love the Disciples family!! They are all so protective and sweet and I can’t wait to read the rest of the boys’ stories!
This is the sixth book in the Savage Disciple’s series and I can’t wait to read the rest!! Everyone check out the Savage Disciples MC series if you like anything MC or tattooed alpha males. Also, check out the author Drew Elyse as I have read many of her books now and they are just so good!!
Noooooooooo. Ok sorry, that was just for the fact that this is the Savage Disciples finale! I’ve really enjoyed this series and am sad to see it end. What a great book to end on though, Stone; the President, gets his own HEA.
We saw in a previous book just how much Stone will do for his brothers, he went to prison for 18 months for something he didn’t even do! Now here he is, the day he gets released and within 24 hours he happens upon Evie; a girl he wanted before he was sent down, but denied himself her due to their age gap. One Evie didn’t even care about as the wanting was reciprocated.
Evie was at the end of an awful day; evicted due to a betrayal and then her car broke down in the middle of nowhere, when, of all people, the man who rejected her advances then disappeared for 18 months, comes to her rescue.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Action, drama, sexy times, and of course what series finale would be complete without some MC action dealing with the bad guys?! 5 stars for Cruise and while I’m sad to see this series end, I’ll be looking out for the spin off.
Holy hells bells cold shower is needed after reading Cruise's story. Totally swoon-worthy! how can you not love the President of the Savage Disciples MC . How can you not love him after he goes to prision to save one of his MC brothers?!?!
Stone already knew Evie from before he went to prison and despite liking and wanting her, he thinks he is doing the best thing for her by walking away. Its only when he finds her broken down at the side of the road when he is released from prison that he lets her slowly embed herself in his life and he can't deny his feelings for too much longer.
I totally loved Evie and Stone, they went together beautifully. I know he keeps talking about the age difference but its really not that much and they are so perfect for each other.
You have your typical MC business sotrylines, with a bit of violence and hot sexy alpha males so this book has it all.
I will be honest I'm quite gutted this is the end of the Savage Disciples series but i am looking forward to reading Katie's story as she needs a HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from the author and Ardent Prose PR
What an end to an absolutely fabulous series. I’ve been addicted to the Savage Disciples for such a longtime now & I think it was fitting to have it end on Stone’s story ~ he is afterall the President of the MC.
Stone is the type of man who always puts other ahead of himself in every way & has done for as long as he can remember. Fully believing he shouldn’t take a happiness for himself, he is determined to make sure Evie has the kinda of future she deserves. Except he really didn’t bank on the right & spirit in the gorgeous, innocent & super loveable girl.
I loved how their story flowed, just the right amount angst & not a whole load of drama, because that’s not what this story was about. Instead it was about unconditional love & full hearts. I adored just how easy their love grew & how they learnt to trust themselves & each other in all matters.
It was great catching up with some firm favs too & I frickin loved seeing the girls come together lol. Seriously I’ve never wanted to be a part of a girl group as much in my life, than I do this crazy clan. A wonderful end to a pretty fabulous series.
Simply a fantastic end to an amazing MC series. Being in the 40-44 year age bracket, Stone was my kind of man 😍 and after everything he goes through for the love of his club and brothers he truly deserved a HEA. Evie was all kinds of sweet and sassy, she knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to grab on and not let go, that goes for both her personal and professional life. She was a great fit for the ladies of the Savage Disciples, I loved girls night out 😂😂
This book was jam packed with emotions. Stone's selflessness really melted my heart, here was a man that took what he wanted regardless of consequences, but when it came to Evie he was willing to walk away because he thought he wasn't good enough; well he certainly was good enough and then some.
With drama, angst and everything else you expect from this author this book was an easy 5 star read. Loved it and am only sad that this was the end of the series 😕
This can’t be the last one it really can’t end this way :( Stone and Evie story is so good. Stone believes he no good for Evie but she will not have any of it she knows what she wants and is will to wait till Stone wakes up and sees what’s meant to be. Stone doesn’t want to hold Evie back from anything in life she young and has her life ahead of her but doesn’t know if he could ever really let her go. Evie willing to learn what it takes to be the women behind the MC Prez. These two have such great chemistry that’s what makes this book such a good read; there are some times you will feel like this is not going to work between them but as you keep reading you see these two will be just fine. O and not let’s forget that the MC still has business to handle and keeping everyone safe is the main priority for them.
I absolutely loved reading this book. It was a great book with a very well written storyline and great characters. This one is about Stone (Austin) and Evie. Evie is trying to make her future better than what her past was. Stone comes into the diner where she works all the time. She finally get the courage to ask him out but he cant say yes as bad as he may want too. Fast forward and these two meet again when Evie needs help. Stone is going to be there for her no matter what he keeps telling himself. But will things work out for these two? I love MC books with a little romance in them. I absolutely loved Stone and Evie. The chemistry between these two is absolutely off the charts. Great book that I highly recommend reading.
I was so happy to jump.head first into Stone's book but also a little sad knowing it was the final book in the Savage Disciples MC series.
Evie, how can you not love her! She is sweet and strong all at the same time! Oh yeah, and absolutely perfect for Stone! The way Stone cares for Evie is endearing but yet underneath if all he is still this domineering MC President. She helps to calm the storm! Each level the other out.
I have loved this entire series and every couple and all of the children that have made the Savage Disciples family grow! The way that Drew Elyse writes draws you in and captures your heart with her relatable characters and amazing storylines! Sad to see this series end but happy for the new series!
Almost feels like the concluding part to the savage disciples. This is president Stones story. Really good - possible ending - to the series to date, with the spin off of the tattoo shops series. Didn’t think I’d like stone as much as I did. Again very well written and not over the top or complicated. We are introduced to stone months b4 he gets incarcerated for covering for Daz. He’s met and fallen for a girl, Evie, working as a waitress, young enough to be his daughter - so does the right thing and leaves her alone (not much choice as he’s sent to prison for 18 months). The story kicks off on his first night of freedom. Great story and just a fab HEA. Good stress free easy to read series to date.
