Midnight Clear by Autumn Macarthur Oh goodness, y'all, this novella! It is so good! It's heartwarming and touching, filled with laughs and tears, characters finding their way, and a wonderful spiritual message. There were times when I was laughing out loud and then others when I was wiping away tears. It really put me in the Christmas spirit. This novella is a great reminder to trust God, His plans, and to know that He is always with us, no matter what, that the Lord's path is so much better than anything we could ever plan. I tried to read this slowly, to savor it, but in the end, I couldn't help but read it as fast as I could. I loved every second of it! Highly recommend!
Midnight Clear by Autumn Macarthur is the most delightful contemporary Christian romance. It will warm your heart whilst simultaneously tugging at your heartstrings. You will be smiling one minute and wiping tears the next. This story is one of great joy and even greater pain. The reader is drawn into the story from the start. From teasers we know something truly awful happened but we question what, why and when. The story is an exploration of grief. Grief will either draw us to or from God. One character presses into God, they "need to lean on God's support harder than usual for a while." This character chooses to trust God in the midst of pain. "He trusted the Lord planned for his good, no matter what." In contrast, another character pulls away from God, preferring in their grief to vent their anger on God and others. In spite of the anger, the character has been praying but "keeping on praying when all... prayers went unanswered felt more and more pointless." It feels like prayers are hitting a brick wall and every request is met with silence. God's silence never equates to absence or inactivity. However when our pain is all we see, we edge God out of the picture. We think because we do not see Him, He does not see or care for us. God waits for us to stop pulling from Him and to return to Him and trust Him. The novel is about persistent love - both of God and of people. Love as portrayed in the novel, has all the qualities displayed in 1 Corinthians:13. A wonderful air of warmth and friendship pervades the whole novel. I adored it. I have yet to meet a book by Autumn Macarthur that I didn't like. They are all wonderful but don't take my word for it - try Autumn Macarthur's books for yourself. I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own. A Time To Love by Marion Ueckermann is a contemporary Christian romance. It is such a delightful read. It will warm heart and leave you smiling. There are many themes including those of fear and trust. If we are not careful, our fears will rule our lives. "Stop running from what scares you." We need to "face [our] fears." Fear will bind us and keep us prisoner. Jesus came to set us free. We need to turn to God and put our trust and faith in Him to guide us. Faith is the opposite of fear. We cannot fear when we know that God is in control. Trust in God means whatever we face, we do not face it alone. On the cross Jesus defeated our fears. "Don't let the devil reclaim ground you've already crossed." Whatever we face, Jesus has already defeated it. The victory is ours. We must silence the voice of the enemy who wants to remove our focus from God. We all need people to believe in us. We need people who will stand by us, encouraging us and speaking life into our situations. The novel shows how we need to choose to praise in the storm as well as in the good times. "God always smiled down on him, whether life was good or not." We need to know that God is on our side at all times. We cannot stop life happening but we can choose how we respond to it. Love and grief are also topics within the story. We have to be able to love someone so much that we can let them go to " release [them] to dance on those streets of gold." The characters are wonderfully drawn. They are realistic, not perfect, with their doubts and fears. Real 3D characters who elicit an emotional response from the reader. The reader is treated to two very different festive locations. We move from hot and sunny Africa to cold and crisp Budapest. The frosty festive fare really tempts the reader and contrasts with the equally tempting hot sandy beaches with roaring waves. A 'real' experience all from the confines of my sofa. A Time To Love will tempt your taste buds, warm your heart, restore your faith in humanity and ultimately point you to the One who loved you so much that He died for you. A wonderful, warm and welcoming read. I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

My Thoughts.....
What a beautifully told story of a second chance at love. It was very intriguing seeing Kelly and Jamal rekindled what had been denied them when they were so young. Will they be able to "fall in love again after all of the pain they had suffered? Well, this is where I say you will have to pick up this good read to see how well this author brings it all out so well to her readers.

Cinnamon Kisses by Cecelia Dowdy Snowflakes & Snuggles: Christmas Boxed set this is Jamal Jennings and Kelly Richardson's story. I’m a friend of Pastor Scott. “ Jamal just returned to Baltimore yesterday. My mom’s sick.” Kelly closed her eyes as the flakes drifted down onto her sweet face. Since they’d gotten to know one another again, he’d never seen her look so happy. She opened her eyes and they twinkled like twin Christmas lights. After reading a few of these, I can say they are each unique, and well-written!
Midnight Clear, by Autumn Macarthur. I read this one first, and found myself drawn into the story. Why Claire would push Ryan away, plainly baffled me--He was such a “perfect guy!” Eventually I understood, but wished she could let go of the hurt, trust God, and give him a chance. Almoosed Heaven, by Jan Elder, is about a pastor and her fiancé, leading up to their wedding. There is a lot of laughter throughout this one, and it makes for a fun read, with a look at an unusual number of things going crazy—some involving moose! You may laugh until you cry! Winter Wishes & Snowflake Kisses, by Mary Manners. More of a novella, by length, it is a sweet story of how Austen truly believes Delaney is his future; but she is afraid of coming back to stay. What happened to her, before she left, makes it hard for her to trust it could be safe for her to return, even though part of her is drawn to Austen, too.
Six delicious Christmas romances, each filled with unexpected twists, a diverse settings, strong characters with a variety of occupations, and written by diverse cast of authors (USA, Canada, England, and South Africa). Each sweet romance includes a recipe: Christmas Maple Cheesecake, Mince Pie, Mini Red Velvet Cheesecakes, Cinnamon Kisses Cookies, Pappookakoo, and Chimney Cake . The stories immediately draw the reader into the plot and conflicts, and the reader connects with the troubled but interesting characters. So snuggle up with a fuzzy blanket and a cup of hot chocolate and this delightful boxed set while laughing at the antics of a town's resident moose Mathilda and cry with the struggles of surgeons Quinn Southgate and Dr. Melanie Kerr. Delicious desserts + weddings + moose = an interesting box set romance read.
Sometimes I hate reading novellas where I wish they were longer but that sums it up for me... these novellas are so good that I want more! That's a great thing to hear for an author (typically). I honestly will never give full summaries because i want people to read it for themselves. If you like reading about personal growth, blooming love, overcoming adversity and meddling people, then you will love this collection of novellas. Oh yes, and if you love Moose, then you will have to read and find out more :)
1. Almoosed Heaven by Jan Elder This story is about the long-awaited wedding of Rev. Samantha and Eric, and I was not disappointed. Her stories are wonderful, heartwarming, and interesting reads! I love learning about Maine and about the Moose, and can’t wait to make the recipe Jan Elder included in this book for Christmas Maple Cheesecake. 2. Quinn’s Choice by Clare Revell LOVED the premise for this story and it was a fun read. It has some interesting tidbits, like the meaning of “carol”. But it also have wonderful themes of forgiveness, what true love is and having the right priorities. 3. Winter Wishes & Snowflake Kisses by Mary Manners A great story about grief, forgiveness and God’s grace. This is a great line: “Who could snooze on a crowded tin can of a plane as it danced the tango through a turbulent sky?” 4. Cinnamon Kisses by Cecelia Dowdy I always enjoy Cecelia’s stories, with all the food in them! A great story about ministering to the homeless, as well as about learning to forgive. 5. Midnight Clear by Autumn Macarthur A heartwarming story of learning to trust in God’s plan & purpose, and letting “go of our own plans when He guides us in a different direction.” 6. A Time to Love by Marion Ueckermann Not only have I learned from these wonderful tidbits of history that Marion Ueckermann has included in A Time to Love, but she has woven the story so well, that I feel like I have actually visited Budapest, have tasted the food, and have seen the sites. This is a very touching story of failure, fears, forgiveness, and finding faith & trust when we don’t understand the bad things happening around us. A great collection by some of my favorite authors!
Snuggle in with your blankie for some great stories
All six of these stories will fill your heart with joy and a few laughs as you travel to interesting locations. The Christmas season can bring a variety of situations into a person's life, but with faith and trust in Jesus Christ, God's Gift to those who put their faith in Him, all will be well.
Almoosed Heaven I loved the latest story about Samantha and Eric and loved the laugh out loud antics of the moose. Quinn's Choice I Ioved this heartwarming romance about love, loss and second chances. Winter Wishes I loved this Christmas story about second chances and coming home again. Cinnamon Kisses I loved this sweet Christian romance about second chances. Midnight Clear I loved this story about fighting through to get a second chance at love. A Time to Love This a beautiful story about love, forgiveness, and sacrifice.
All the novella's were good ... my favorite tho was about Claire & Ryan ... loved the way he continually showed unconditional acceptance & love throughout all her snarkiness.
Six beautifully written books. I learned something from each one. These books are the best way to enjoy new authors. I can't say enough about how great each of the books are. Please get this set and start reading you will not regret it.
