This was a different take on Cinderella. Finn is living a torturous life and has basically been sold to be a human blood bag to the vampires. Holden, a wolf warns Finn but can he save her in time before her step mother sends her away? Will these two develop feelings for one another and make it out alive before it's too late? Enjoyed reading this authors take on fairy tales.

First, I'd like to say I liked the idea of this story and the different characters and how they progress by the end of the book.

Man things bothered me. There are a lot of characters in this book and I felt they got left behind development wise. This is supposed to be a Cinderella type of story with a twist. We get that the first 2 chapters and then its something different altogether. It was immensely convoluted.
I couldnt tell who was speaking or who's POV it was. It took awhile to figure it out sometimes and other times I didnt even bother and just moved on. Holden and Finn were very hard to follow. Neither one knew which way was up or down and thats a problem with main characters. I had a difficult time believing they were even mates. Holden's denial and avoidance of Finn was definitely a chink in the armor. Finn is pretty spoiled and has been pampered. I will say that I liked how she grew a little by the end of the book. I liked both characters but neither seemed to know what they wanted. I eventually gave up cause I just didnt wanna know and finished reading the book. There is a such thing as putting too much complexity in your characters and story and from what I've read here thats what happened. I wanted to know more about Holden's pack and the people and we just dont get that in the book. I am not trying to be negative Nancy but this really left me confused most of the time.

NOTE: I dont know if I got a finished copy of this book. I say that because through the whole thing there are location footnotes. Then at the end of the book the footnotes are explained. The marked spots that needed further explanation about the story or this part didnt makes sense or something needing re-wording. Seems more like an editor's copy than the finished product. I just wanted to add that part in with my review.

This was my first book by this author and I was pleasantly surprised. I love fairy tale retellings and this one was very unique and interesting. We have Finn and Holden. Finn is basically living a tortuous live with her horrible step mother and then she meets Holden. Holden has an immediate interest in her but he doesn't know if he can keep his promises to his pack and be with Finn. I don't want to say more because fairy tale retellings are always the best with that added element of surprise. If you enjoy fairy tale retellings then you won't be disappointed.

I liked this take on Cinderella. No matter how much I love the original that everyone knows, sometimes a different take on it spices it up. It adds a little flavor to story that has been rewritten and retold many times over. This book was a great read. I enjoyed it.

Holden and Finnleigh's story is very intriguing and suspenseful. Finding out that there's more to the world than she knows, including about herself, Finnleigh becomes the strong, confident young woman that lurks inside her. I can see more stories with this cast of characters. I'll be watching for more.

A slip of Fate

A twisted paranormal version of Cinderella that I really enjoyed! I loved the storyline it was well-paced and held my interest throughout. I do wish there was a bit more depth to the characters and their relationship but other than that I really enjoyed the story.

A new take on Cinderella. The story was interesting and just a little twisted. It's a short well written story with great descriptions. Enjoyed this twisted fairytale.

This is a new idea of the Cinderella take and while I liked it some I was a bit sad that some of the characters seemed to fall a little bit flat. I did like Finn and Holden though.
