Starting a business helping police solve magical problems had seemed like a fine idea. Excitement and nerves had carried her through setting up the business, but now only the nerves were left. Days were passing, her phone wasn’t ringing, and she didn’t make money unless she worked cases. After days of waiting, Michelle finally gets a call. She races to the day care only to find fireballs flying through the air. And, witches burn just as easily as anyone else.
“Fireball” packs a beautifully emotional story into just a few pages (14). Michelle is a witch and has just been given a contract with the local police force to help with magical problems. But business is slow until a dragon starts fire-bombing a local daycare and the surrounding area. With the police busy dealing with “... a bomb threat at the school and some problem between elves and dark elves” it is up to Michelle to find a solution. And she does with a lot of empathy and compassion. I enjoyed it but it's really just the start of a story, not the complete one. 3 Stars.
Could be read as a prequel but also after book 3 once you’ve gotten to know the Characters.
This a great introduction into Michelle’s first case at her local sheriffs. It involves a baby dragon and daycare where the magical staff are sick leaving a single human in charge with a flying dragon that’s escaped and breathing fire.
Have you ever wondered about Michelle’s first case? Wonder no more — here’s the story. And thankfully for Michelle, it’s sweet and a little sad, and something she could easily handle.
You will need the context of at least the first Witch’s Path book for this to make the most sense.
I have been following Michelle since the first book. I wanted to give this one 5 stars as I have all the others and deservedly so. This one needed to be a little longer, too short even for a "short" story
