Animal communication and healing is essential to me. Telepathy is genuine but this dramatic “psychic” bookcover made me cringe in 2003. Twenty years later, it was worth a look for $2.00 CDN. I misjudge Sonya Fitzpatrick no longer. Her care for people and animals, including geese is beautiful. I am touched. We are closer to kindred spirits than I imagined.

Cat Talk: The Secrets Of Communicating With Your Cat” is great, building from her childhood to a variety of chapters that must help a lot of people. The way she learns how animals feel and what they need might seem magical but the commonsense and truth is instantly seen.

There are four stars because two chapters disturbed me. She let a friend consider ending a pet’s life, instead of automatically moving house together, like a sane person! Treating death like a harmless accessory is why I abhor Penelope Smith. The animal confirmed that he would certainly rather live: no shit! It is a fable that animals prefer home-sticking to places, over their family. Our babies explore new favourite spots regularly.

I was pained to see for the second time, the belief that missing cats usually want new homes; an extreme suggestion for the Mother of a missing kitty to read. We know our Son lives and keeps loving us with all his heart. It is very feasible for a strong, young boy to take a vacation trip to cope with a change at home. We sense in our beings that he is determined to return but had to stay somewhere safe. May someone finally assist him via his ear tattoo.

This is a valuable book for everyone who does not know that animals are real beings: whose love, respect, health, comfort, wisdom, and preferences matters exactly as much as people’s.

“The Secrets of Communicating with Your Cat” will be useful to people who want to increase communication with pets. There is a great deal of good advice and information in here including important food choices and plants poisonous to cats.

I liked Sonya’s retelling of growing up in such a rural area of England, so sylvan and idyllic with cottages and geese. I believe much of her claims to communicate with animals and vice-versa, but advise readers to take it all “with a grain of salt.” I suspect some of it is wish fulfillment, such as being able to commune with animals that have passed away.

I believe animals have souls, and thus are still “being” in another realm after physical death, but my opinion is that a person who is psychic can do that one or two times, but not “on demand” as she does. I saw her on television 2 times and thought “nice, but some of that, or most of that, is show business.” However, the child in me wishes it were true!

There are stories here of lost animals found, interesting human and animal characters, and reminders that great love exists between our species, which makes the book worth reading.

I thought this would be interesting but was very disappointed. Too much Weird mumbo jumbo for this cat lover.

Great book for cat lovers! I learned a lot about how to communicate with my cats and the reasons behind certain behavioral changes. Fitzpatrick really helped me to learn how to look at life from the cat's perspective ("I poop on the bed to make sure no other cat sets foot on it.") rather than my own human one ("Why did you poop on my bed?!?!?!").

Shared how she communicates with lost pets. Shared the stories of some cats she had helped find the way home. One who had been gone 3 months.
