This book surprised me I enjoyed it way more than I expected to.
Why would I be reading a book I didn't expect to like?
It's not exactly that I didn't expect to like it I just figured it would be a typical 3* read. Absolutely nothing wrong with that most of the books I read fall into this category but this was more or at least it was for me.

Emmy Reed is an American art-history graduate in London and she's trying for the impossible an interview with the reclusive artist J.J. Harrison.
Emmy has some hang ups about alpha males and rich entitled playboys so when she catches sight of the gorgeous and obviously incredibly rich Jase Beckett on the underground she looks because she can but knows it's not going anywhere.
But circumstances put them together and Jase suggests a deal. Emmy accompanies Jase to a family wedding and Emmy gets her meeting with J.J. Harrison who happens to be Jase's grandfather.

Emmy is natural and refreshing and nothing like the women Jase is used to and the more time he spends with her the more intrigued and attracted he becomes.
Jase is so much more than Emmy expected and she realises she was way off base with her assumptions.
As the weekend progresses the attraction and sexual chemistry intensifies leaving us to wonder what will happen when the weekend is over?

Emmy and Jase are both fabulous characters, I really enjoyed this and I can't wait for the next part.

Now there's nothing new here, it's like so many books before it (reminded me of Bared to You in places) but I liked it, held my attention from the first page to the last and that's what I want from a book

I'm not a fan of cliffhangers and I don't like it when what is essentially one book is broken down and released in parts. Yet I couldn't stay away from this something about the blurb appealed to me enough for me to want to read it and I'm so glad I did plus there's only a week between books which isn't too bad.

The Weekend - 17th October
The Chase - 24th October
The Confession - 31st October

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley and Headline Eternal.

Steamy and deliciously short and smutty tale of a rich alpha male and an ordinary gal who catches his eye.

It was a little slow at the start, there wasn't as much anticipation as I'd like before they're lusting all over one another, but once we got to the smut we were on solid ground.

Ends on a cliffie, second part of three out 24 Oct then part three 31 Oct so not too long to wait.

thoughts on the whole trilogy:
I think my timing for reading this was a little bit off
if I have read this years ago I would enjoy it more..
when similar books were all the rage..
reminds me of Naked but not as good..

This book sounded right up my street so I couldn't wait to get started. Although it didn't quite grip me in the way that I'd hoped, it was still a good read and I was left wanting more. I can't wait for book two to see what happens next for Emmy and Jase.

The premise of this story is one that I've read hundreds of times, but it's one that can never grow old with me. Rich, alpha and stunning hero with a down to earth heroine that is easy to relate to. I will always want to read these kind of romance novels so in the story department it did not let me down. Jase was the hot single guy with a bit of a mysterious past and crappy family issues that I was curious of. Emmy was a sweet and sassy girl who gave Jase a bit more of a fight than what he was used to, which of course made Emmy even more attractive.

This quick read continued with a steamy romance between Jase and Emmy that I enjoyed and left me with a bit of a cliffhanger ending. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next and also getting a bit more into Jase's past. I'm pretty certain there is a lot more to discover about him and his family.

Bezveze!

I was nervous going in to this. I've read a lot of books like this - hot, sexy, alpha millionaire and the down to earth girl who tries to stay away but in the end inevitably gives in, and not all Authors can get it right, but Rhiannon Byrd has done just that!

Loved every minute of it, which is why I'm keeping this review short so I can devour book 2!

The first part of a three part series. This is a quick read and a great start to what I believe will become a beautiful love story.

Emmy Reed is an American art-history graduate, she visits London in the hopes of getting an interview with reclusive artist J.J. Harrison but after a surprise altercation with some would-be thieves she finds herself in the office of the Mr Dreamy she had been eyeing off on the train with a nasty knock on her head.

Jase Beckett has an offer Emmy can't refuse, the opportunity to see Harrison's private art collection, only catch is Emmy has to pretend she is Jase's girlfriend at a family Wedding at the weekend.

Thanks to Netgalley and Hachette Australia for the opportunity to read and give an honest review and look forward to reading part 2 - The Chase.

Ms. Bird is a skilful romance writer than can make sweet work well with hot sex and intense emotions. This is a story of two strangers who has more than an attraction connecting them to each other. This connection is what the hero, Jase Beckett used to entice the heroine, Emmy to spend the weekend with him at his cousin’s wedding in his family home. At the wedding, Emmy realised that Jase is the odd one out in his family who are basically awful and toxic people. In short, Jase is a good guy raised in a rich, unloving environment. I enjoyed this first instalment very much and I cannot wait for Part 2.

This is the first part of a three part series, and even though it’s a quick read it’s a very enjoyable read.
Emmy Reed is an American art-history graduate in London looking for an interview with J.J.Harrison an reclusive artist. When she is attacked on the London Underground the last person she expects to come to her rescue is a stranger called Jase, who not only is very hot he also happens to be the grandson of J.J Harrison is this Fate !
Jase a alpha male who has had his fair share of women but none have had the effect Emmy has had on him, so when he needs a partner for the weekend to attend a family wedding he uses his grandfathers name and a promise of a tour of the artwork to get her to agree to be his fake girlfriend.
Jase’s family ate nothing like Emmy’s and she finds herself wanting to protect and rescue him when things get tough but sometimes you just have to walk away.....
I will be honest and say I’m not normally a fan of cliffhangers but I understand book 2 The Chase will be released on Oct 24 so not long to wait. I really liked the characters and the chemistry was sizzling and I do believe this will become into an amazing love story, if book one is anything to go by.
Looking forward to reading The Chase.

2.5/3 stars - Review Taken from The Pewter Wolf

Emmy Reed, an American art history graduate, can't stop staring at a hot guy on the London Underground. And when he saves her from a dangerous situation at her stop, she's grateful. Until she discovers he's a millionaire playboy - the type of boy who breaks hearts without a moment's second thought. So when he asks her to be his plus one at an upcoming wedding that weekend, she's determined to turn it down... until he offers her a deal. If she comes, he will try and arrange a meeting with a sought-after artist - who happens to be his grandfather.

As the weekend goes on, Emmy starts to see the man who's her "boyfriend" - Jase - isn't the man she thought he was and with the chemistry between them, they won't want the weekend to end. But the weekend will end... but what does that mean for them?

This is the first of a three novella series - London Affair. Both the second - The Chase - and the third - The Confession - follow in weekly instalments (at the time most of you are reading this, all three should be out).

This was fun. I read this on holiday and it was a light, fun, easy read. I read in short, quick moments and was finished before the holiday was over (though I know if I had more time, would have read it sooner).

But, this isn't anything new, though. At times, it felt very troupe - with hints of Twilight and 50 Shades of Grey. Plus, there were times I was reading going "You have got to be kidding me". There were events that happened that I wanted to read but we changed character POV so we heard it secondhand plus the main male leads family - I find it impossible to believe that everyone he is related to is THAT unlikeable.

Now, it was fun, light, sexy read, and if I was offered to read the rest of the series, I would happily do so, as curious to see where this story goes. But am not sure if romance/erotica are the genres for me...

Hurray for UK/US deténte.

The fascination that Americans have for Brits of a certain class always tickles me. There seems to be a deep rooted glamour that they cling to. Which is hilarious given that most of us think they're over entitled tw**s! I guess it's the difference between growing up with something & just getting a glimpse of it through a curtain. Trust me when I say that a majority of us would be quite happy to see the royals disappear, never to be heard from again. If that sounds bitter, then you're right because*we* have to pay millions for the privilege of seeing them waste it. Case in point; we're*still* paying for Andrew out of the public purse & ( at the time of writing) he's STILL living in a "grace & favour" freaking mansion that's big enough to house three or four families.

Sorry for the rant; it's a subject that's very close to the surface of British life at the moment & it really rankles.

Getting back to the book, which is why I'm here after all! It's a joyful meeting of two people who ostensibly should have nothing in common but crash into each other's orbit with all the force of meteorites. A southern, independent belle & a messed up, admittedly delicious, top drawer Brit. Luckily for both of them, he turns out to be very different from the nightmare her preconceived notions expect. So the big question is "can they be enough for each other"? We hopefully find out in the second part as the first book ends, predictably enough, with them parting ways as she runs away from him. Although the story is a well travelled theme, it is lifted by dint of the two protagonists being eminently likeable & written with a real affection. You*know* that there will be an HEA but the pleasure is in the journey getting to it. I'm looking forward to being along for the ride.

There was a very well written plot line and a very well written sexual tension until it came to a head and the spice detail was classy and good without being unbelievable x

Eeek another trilogy! Emmy is back in London determined to make anime for herself in the art journalist world when a stranger on the train catches her eye and speaks her fantasies. Little does she know that her fantasy hero is the real deal as he saves her from an attack! There's and instant chemistry between Emmy and Jase; but she's hesitant since she hasn't had a great past with men of wealth means. But he asks her for a deal that she can't turn down. Spend one weekend with him as his girlfriend and he'll give her the art history interview of a lifetime with his grandfather.

Now when there when I said there was chemistry, I wasn't lying. But I was a little let down at how often Emmy outs herself down or diminishes herself overtime she begins to feel attraction towards Jase. I'm not expecting every heroine to be balls to the wall confident but it kept distracting me from the story. In addition to their ruse these two also have to deal with seriously the WORST family I've ever read or encountered. No one is kind or honest in Jase's family, like NO ONE. How is that possible? From cheaters and liars, to sexual harassers and creepy cousins, to shrill and abusive caterwauling women there is every type of nightmarish family member in this story. It was hard to take anything seriously but I'm hoping that parts 2 and 3 will give us more insight to the day time soap opera that is the Beckett family.

Mein Fazit:

Trotz meiner anfänglichen Gereiztheit wegen Jase's Auftreten,
