Beth James, daughter of Reverend James of Ottawa, suddenly finds herself alone in the world when her father is taken ill and passes away. With very little choices and even fewer resources, she decides to take up Miss Hazel Hughes on her offer--she will travel far away from home to marry a Mountie in a place she's never seen before--Cougar Springs.
Samuel Murray knows little about marriage--he just knows that two of his siblings have been matched by Miss Hazel, and they seem very happy. When his bride arrives, he's very pleased with the arrangement, but the situation in town is dangerous, and he wonders if he'll be able to keep his new bride safe or if he's leading her into danger.
Amelia C. Adams is a wife, a mother, and a novelist. She spends her days dreaming up stories and her nights writing them down. Her biggest hero is her husband, and you might just see bits and pieces of him as you read her novels.
She loves all things historical and enjoys learning about days gone by, but she's glad she was born more recently (she won't say how recently or not recently) because the Internet is awesome, and she's glad she doesn't have to wash her clothes by hand in a galvanized tub. She has hit Amazon bestseller status twice, once for A Clean Slate and once for A Clear Hope.
Beth is the daughter of Reverend James at the church Miss Hazel attends. Beth has been worried about her father and he passes away unexpectedly. She has no where to go and one of the parishioners took Beth in but after over hearing she has over stayed her welcome she plans to leave. Miss Hazel visits her the same day and takes Beth with her. She has just the mountie in mind for her.
Samuel doesn’t know about a wife but his sister and brother have been matched very well and puts his faith into Miss Hazel. He wants a nice wife to help be a partner.
Beth arrives and they are both nervous and become fast friends and things settle down until she finds Samuel sleeping in the bathtub.
Loved this story and the whole bathtub scene and issue. These two characters were funny and loving. The stories keep getting better with each read.
Love triumphs over hatred and danger. Love is all we need.
I really loved this story of Beth and Samuel the last of the Mounties and wives to have their story told. Wow, again Ms Adams has such ability to create awesome characters and romance as well as unsavory happenings around town. Evilness seems to unfold greatly in this book as well as others in this series and being married to a Mountie can be good and bad for wives and the couple's as it did in this story. So much happens and always the unexpected that causes harmful and intentional acts to these good law abiding Mounties who find the bad people and bring them to justice, and saving their families. Even just teaching a Bible study can cause you to almost die as does illegitimate unlawful potions being sold or stuffed into persons unwillingly. This is another must read in this series. All the books I have read so far and reviewed are highly recommended. They are that good and you can't put them down.
What in... I don't know what to say. Spoilers, I guess. This man saw his house catching fire, yelled at his sleeping wife to wake up and LEFT to catch the arsonist. His reasoning was to not let an enemy get away and potentially hurt his family again... Except that at that point he wasn't even sure if his family could manage to safely get out of it. Then the house is predictably burned into a crisp, but the poor wife saved herself with a bathtub. I honestly think she's better off with the bathtub. Who needs a man like that.

This wasn't a favorite of this series though I did enjoy the characters of Beth and Samuel. Having read two of the other books with this group of Mounties and the bride, this felt like a rehash of what was going on around them that I read in the other books with not much new added. The incident with Ms. Dusenbury (I probably spelt that wrong) felt like the only thing fresh and it still felt surface level. This book felt like it lack depth though it was enjoyable with lots of good lines. It just left me wanting more.
Here we go again. Amelia takes us back to visit these handsome Mounties and their charming small town. Beth is a good woman of faith and Samuel is looking for just that kind of woman. Ms. Hazel makes it happen. Amelia brings this young couple together to make a family. We see the trials they go through and how their faith brings them closer. I laughed out loud at the bathtub. Read it to find out why.
This is the fourth story of the Mail Order Mounties series that is set in Cougar Springs. The 4 authors coordinated well and each created a unique , that intertwined with the others. Beth was the daughter of a minister. Samuel is the most devout of this group of Mounties. They have adjustments and realize they are meant for each other. We also find out what happens to Dr Jenkins from the previous stories.
This is just another book in the line of some really good ones, about mail order brides for the Mounties. It is so much fun to have the same characters, just in a different light in each book. They are filled with fun, love and trials. If you enjoy books, you will enjoy this series.
Samuel is the last Mountie in Cougar Springs to get a Bride and Beth is the perfect match for him. Once again Miss Hazel has hit the nail on the head. This Book not only deals with Beth and Samuals marriage but it wraps up all the loose ends from the other three books from Cougar Springs. Even a teaser for the next four books...well played...enjoyed reading this very much
A great series, although each book can be read as a stand alone. I really loved the characters, the women who came to be brides formed a bond much like sisters. The relationship between Beth and Samuel was sweet and clean. I enjoyed everything about this book! Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
Love it. Amelia writes with such depth of feelings. She takes a slow realistic walk to love. This is no exception. As with each book in the series they just get better and better.
What a delightful story... I can't wait to get these books every other Friday and I have to stop whatever I am reading and read the new Mountie book. I can't say too much or I might ruin it for someone else.
I enjoyed this story of adventure and suspense. The author did a wonderful job of putting the characters together in this romance. Ms Amelie did a beautiful way of getting to the end.
This is a great series, Brides are sent to these mounties. To read about how they fall in love. Samuel hears glass breaking. Jenkins found out that he was replaced.
I have read all of the stories in the RNWMP series and enjoyed each of them. They need not be read in order but I read them that way and recommend that they be read in order.
Miss Hazel is a character ( no really her personality is strong, funny, and loving). Each of the young ladies have their strengths. The Mounties are just so darn cute. This series is a must read!
Thank you so much for writing and I will recommend this book to all my friends and family. Very interesting and I enjoyed the twisting of the story. The characters were so enjoyable.
When it started I thought oh hum how will they make a story out of these two being quiet and unassuming but they did! Surprising difficulties come out of everywhere! Do not miss this one! - Babs
Yerrific book in a wonderful series of clean romsnced
This wasn't my favorite out of the 4 I've read but I still loved it. It's clean, has some silly moments & some romantic ones that make my heart sing. If I could afford them, I'd read all of Amelia Adams' romances.
Loved this book the latest installment in the RNWMP series .I couldn't put it down and now the sun is up.I can't wait for the next book in this wonderful series.
Hero: Samuel Heroine: Beth Reading Enjoyment:4.5* I enjoyed this sweet read with some excitement thrown in. Another great story in this series that is filled with fun, love and trials .
I like her writing and storytelling but this one didn’t grab me as much as some of her others. Can not put my finger on exactly what it is but I’ll give it a 4.5.
Beth's Father has suddenly passed, leaving her all alone in the world. When Miss Hazel suggests she become a mail order bride for a Mountie, Beth agrees. Samuel hears how happy his sister (Evelyn #4) and brother (#8) are now that they've gotten married and he wants a family of his own. These 2 are really cute. They feel a bit awkward around each other at first which was refreshing because I'm sure it would have been weird to suddenly marry a stranger - compared to how most mail order books seem to make an instant connection between the couples. They started by becoming friends first and it made the story cuter. Will Beth's ideas to find her place in town put her in danger? Will their marriage become deeper than a friendship? This is a cute, clean, sweet romance. I totally suggest reading it. I find the 4th books in each round of the series are my favourites. The author writes them really well and most of them are all siblings in different assignments around the country.
