John Barrowman was born in Scotland, and moved to Illinois when he was eight years old. He is bi-dialectal, doing much of his stage and acting work in his American accent, but speaking with family in his Scottish accent.
He moved back to Britain in 1989 when he was hired to play the lead in Anything Goes. He took on a number of West End roles, including the leads in Sunset Boulevard and Miss Saigon and a dramatic play entitled Rope, while working as a children's television presenter and came back to America briefly to work on short lived shows such as Central Park West and Titans. He then bounced around Broadway, West End and the LA Stage for a number of years before moving back to Britain permanently. He won the role of Captain Jack Harkness in the new Doctor Who series and went on to star as Captain Jack in its adult spin-off Torchwood.
John married Scott Gill, his partner of fifteen years, in December 2006.
This took me a long time to read but it was worth knowing but all the other books meant in their prologue. Though the whole series was great, the prologues were confusing and instead of giving you some backstory they introduced a whole knew character. This would be okay if random terms you dont know the meaning of weren't thrown at you
Apart from this, I loved the twists especially Caravaggio betraying Matt.

The story is very imaginative, but I have to say that throughout reading this series I was often confused as to what was even happening. Especially in the crucial moments. I did not really enjoy the choice to keep the reader in complete darkness for most of the book. I also found it hard to understand character motivations and actually even keep track of all of them. Because of this, it made it difficult to imagine the story as it progressed and I could not get fully into it.
The Conjuror Chronicles reach an explosive conclusion in the heart of the eternal city. Uncertain information and loyalties leave the Calder twins and their colleagues uncertain who to trust to prevent the rise of the Second Kingdom.
Really enjoyed this set of books with a great story and very good characters in them. The brother and sister seem to be a nice mirror for the writers-Great!
