I always hate to mark a book as "read" when I've abandoned it. All I can say about the part of Quantrall that I plowed through is that it's a good thing fiction is a "willing suspension of disbelief." As a Texan, and as one who's privileged to know (sometimes distantly, sometimes not) oilmen and ranchers and other men (and a few women) who built vast wealth in the Lone Star State, it's obvious that the author hasn't a clue about her subject matter. Research alone can't put you in the heart of a place, or the souls of its people. And honestly, some of the true stories about these empires, and how their builders use/d their money, are so outrageous that no fiction author can top them.

Quantrall: Cowboy justice for hire is book one in a new series by Carolina Mac called Q-File - P.I. Oilman, and horse breeder Jesse Quantrall was at a loose end after his father dies and his girlfriend married another man. However, while Jesse was contemplating his future, he received a phone call that drew him into a twisted plot of kidnapping, violence and greed. The readers of Quantrall will continue to follow Jesse to find out what happens.

In parts the plot of Quantrall was confusing. However, overall Quantrall was an enjoyable book to read. Once I worked out all the characters, I did engage with the story of this book. I love Carolina Mac portrayal of her characters and the way they intertwine throughout this book. Quantrall was well written and researched by Carolina Mac. I like the way Carolina Mac described the settings of Quantrall that complimented the plot of this book.

The readers of Quantrill will learn to run a safe-house for young boys escaping from motorbike gangs and to keep the location secret. Also, the readers of Quantrill will learn about consequences of inoperable brain tumour to the suffer and everyone around them.

I recommend this book.

It's a bit like a train wreck...

...you can see the train is going to derail but no way can you look away! You can see the confrontations before they happen, see the disasters but you have to keep reading, keep turning the pages....to see just how bad it is going to be!
An intriguing start to the series and I think maybe I should have read the Regulator Series first, as some of the events in this book refer back. Available on Kindle Unlimited means there is reason you shouldn't try it.

Love lost and found

Hard to categorize this book; romance, mystery, thriller, fiction. Bad choices, impulsive behaviors, sophomoric love affairs a!most young adult until you get to sex scene. Wanton woman with too much money and too many suitors. How can you kill that many men and not go to jail?

WORTH A READ

Have read only one of this author's reads from a different series prior to starting Quantrall Investigations. Was a little put off by how this first book started, plus not really crazy about some of the main character descriptions. However do admit I feel this series does have some intriguing potential.

Another great series

This is a sort of run off from the Regulator series. I am glad this is not the end of Annie as I loved her character. If this series is anything like the last it will be one bumpy ride.

Quantrall

This was a good book and I will recommend her books to anyone who loves romance novels. She keeps you involved from page one until the end.

Jesse seems to be way too hooked on Annie and her powerful pheromones. Quantrall Q-File didn’t grab my attention the way The Regulators did but became a decent page turner especially towards the very fitting ending for Donny. On to Ink Minx.

Fast

Fast paced family with big family issues. Loving friends with more issues. One who rescues children and young adults from biker gangs. Has all the Texas excitement if oil and a big horse ranch. Great characters and character development.

I'm from Texas. Enjoyed reading of areas I'm familiar with but Jesse was so stupid to be so hung up on a woman like Annie. Sounds like no morals sleeping with anyone wearing pants. Will probably not read any more of these books.

Read because I'm from Texas and enjoy reading of places I'm familiar with. Will not read any more of these books. Annie sounds like a woman that will sleep with an man that wears pants. If she is the main character in these books I probably won't read.

I read the first two books. I read the second book mainly to see if there was more explanation of why Annie is the way she is, and I'm not talking about her heart for saving children in danger. She seems so moral on one level and so selfish on another while she would have all the men in her life see her as an angel who has enough love to go around for all of them. When I read about Jesse's father knowing about Ray and accepting it I decided these characters are a little too weak and warped for me.

Another great start

I started with the Blackmore Series when I realized I was missing the beginnings. I really want to get back to the Blackmore Series but I'm glad I went back and started with the first Series, the Regulators. I love these stories and I can't wait to get to the next one. This series focus' is more with Jesse's
side of things so far and his family. Donnie Ferguson, the biker boss that Annie got out of prison for him to help with the foundation is turning into being more than she thought.

More

I need more from Miss Carolina Mac! I know once I get through all the other series I'm going to be hungry for more. Her first series about Portia Anne got me started and now I can't put her books down. The books are amazingly written and well detailed. She's not the typical author that gives the reader 3-4 complete characters surrounded by a loosely written supporting cast. All of her characters are well developed as her books progress. Don't miss out!

Meh

Alcoholic chain smoker with anger management issues.
That pretty much sums up the entire book. Will not be reading any more in the series.

A great new series

Annie has fallen for Jess. Jess is recovering from a gun shot wound and broken bones. Jess is not the only one. Annie is sorting out her feelings. I recommend.
