Tapasya

Wist is rescued by Aviti, a young woman with her own mysteries to solve. He soon learns that the last time he left Tapasya, the land fractured from north to south. In the wake of his departure, oppression, persecution and civil war became the norm.
Then he begins a journey of discovery and redemption that will take him far across the desert continent of Tapasya. As he struggles to piece together his life from fractured recollections from the past, he is forced to face up to the failures of his life or risk the complete destruction of the land.
Pyrite
A black sun arrives to threaten Pyrite as Wist and Aviti land in the northern continent, still pursuing Tilden.
Separated when they land, Aviti is enslaved by the relentless Intoli that have come from the frozen wastes of Prasad to wage war on the native Giants. Meanwhile, Wist's need for revenge threatens his sanity and the lives his comrades.
In the second volume in David Gilchrist's The Redemption of Wist series, Wist and Aviti are trapped on opposing sides of a war. They must find their own paths to freedom, or allow Pyrite to fall under the influence of the black sun and Tilden’s Allies, the deathless Waren.

I could cry
Death and destruction, hope and joy, these had everything. I am going to have to read again and again. Darkness shall not win, love and kindness will endure.
