Longing to escape her mundane life of prayer and chores, Ishtar dreamed of adventure far from the stone walls of the remote monastery. Different from the rest of the aging nuns, she spent her life pretending not to be affected by curious stares caused by her unique looks, but when a demon king saves her from an attack, she found herself captivated by his piercing gaze.
A demonic king with unmistakable power, Suros commanded an elite army of trained warriors dedicated to their king and his every command. After years of searching for her, Suros was prepared to do whatever it takes to have her, even if that meant taking her by force.
With a shocking secret forcing Ishtar to flee from the only place she called home, can she outrun the demon with crimson eyes determined to have her at no matter the cost?
A note from the author: This is a short stand-alone story about a young woman captured by a powerful demon lord and her will to fight back or allow herself to be conquered by the demon with the crimson gaze.

“Her writing is a lot like chocolate, dark and very sweet.”
From contemporary to fantasy, Katerina Winters weaves dark tales of romance together with strong possessive men and sexy rendezvous.
Katerina lives in a tiny brick house surrounded by trees in Texas with her husband and their dog. When she isn’t writing, Katerina is usually catching brunch with friends or curled up on her window seat with a good book.

I really enjoyed this story and was transported to another realm while reading it. Suros was a fierce demon king who was on a quest to find Ishtar, and their journey to his kingdom was fraught with danger and filled with discovery as we get to watch them battle and fall in love. The only reason I withheld a star on my rating is the atrocious editing. The worst part was the use of commas, either in the wrong place or completely missing, causing me to have to often reread sentences to grasp their meaning. There are also missing words (a and the) and switching of words (in and and) which occurred throughout. While I did find the numerous errors irritating, my enjoyment of the characters and fantastic setting was enough to look beyond the editing. I hope Ms Winters continues with more stories about Suros’s brothers in the near future and finds an editor to alleviate the unnecessary distractions because her work is definitely worth reading.
Fine. I didn’t understand why we got so many povs. I was worried there was going to be a love triangle or something but no, just switching around so side characters can chime in. Also it wasn’t primal play it was a legit chase Eh 3 stars
Wolf finds bunny and wants to keep her. However, the bunny isn't sure she wants to be kept. In a world where demons have taken over and outnumber the human population. A quick read but very enjoyable.
I genuinley loved this book. I know the author intended for this to be a short story but I really think it should be a series with the next books featuring the three other brothers.
Loved the concept of different demon breeds and various kingdoms but the execution was poor. We really get no details of the universe we are thrown in. Why was she such a rare breed? Are you telling me apart from her breeding pure demons, her breed had no other special abilities? What about the hero!!?! What other abilities did he have??? Why did he want her sooo bad before even meeting her???
On another note….what was with the weird leaking fluid??? Erotic but again no explanation. The sex scenes were hot but tame for what I was expecting. No big professing my love scene in this. Don’t even know when the heroine started to like him.
I will say I honestly could not stop laughing during one sex scene where he is pulling on her floppy ears while riding her from behind🤣😆😂
Also the bonus epilogue on the authors website was ridiculous and unnecessary. It did not fit considering how possessive the hero seemed to be in the book. Dropped the book down another star or that alone.

Ahhh, this was such a good read that it left me aching for more! I need to know all the things of this fantastic world. For such a short read, the author did a fantastic job of pulling me in, giving me all the dark possessiveness I expect from a demon, but giving me all the sweet cuddly feelings from the FMC. I did subtract one star as the manuscript contained a few minor grammar/spelling miscues but nothing that detracted from the story. Highly recommend!
A short and uniquely cute read. I was pleasantly surprised by this little gem. At first I wasn't sure what or where this book was leading. But as I read on the more I was began to really dig it. If you like short love stories with a sexy alpha male, this is definitely a super cute one
Honestly not the book's fault. I got side-tracked by other stuff and then tried to come back to this but had completely lost interest. I'll try another by this author though!
I loved the pace of this creative novella. What an imaginitive, kinetic world Katerina Winters has created. I hope she writes more...I'd like to know what happens next!
Absolutely cracking little novella.. about a demon wolf king called Suros and a bunny demon called Ishtar!!!🐺🐇
Despite her wishes Ishtar is taken from her home with the monks and nuns after it has suffered an other attack... only the aid of the demon king ensured their safety and victory. After a pretty sad attempt at escape ( after learning the king intends to remove her from the monastery ) they journey back to the kings castle. The journey is long and filled with dangers... more demons who plan to steal Ishtar.
I loved this book it was great... I devoured it and was left wanting more!! I realllllly want to know about sour the brothers stories and I want them now!!
I looove Katerina Winters, her fantasy books whilst short somehow are just so....indulging. And for this reason I may be a bit bias by rating it a 4 (I know i am overlooking a lot) but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Best indulged when you need a short book (story?) to break up the monotony when reading a series - somehow it brings back the enjoyment of reading by connecting you to your childhood dreams(I love the author for this reason, her romantasy books are so imaginative and immersive) and teenage fantasies.
Story was unique and characters were different. I liked the dynamic between them. But just as things would be getting good they would say or do something strange. And (spoiler) the first sex scene pissed me off with the ear pulling. For a quick read it was ok but other than that I didn’t really like it.
I liked this short little journey into this world. The characters and situation were different to many other books like this. I think I would have liked more of the mmc backstory and thoughts feelings but the fmc was well written and interesting. The epilogue had a nice little twist. I do hope we get some more of the side characters in the future.
I really liked this fantasy romance adventure a demon king who protects and provides for the humans he rules over. An adorable female demon with spunk and defiance. This was a great short read I really hope there's more since Sorus has brothers.
Little gem of a book. Different, interesting and kept me reading. I would definitely recommend and I hope there are more books to come from this universe.
I genuinely disliked this book. It was poorly written. The characters were average. The plot sounded good and I had high hopes, but it was executed poorly.
