Demarcus is on top of the world; he was signed to a championship team, he was one of the star players and he had just found out his wife was pregnant. Why did his mistress have to call his cell and fuck up everything? Now, his wife is in the hospital and her parents rushed to Boston to be by her side. That was not what he was expecting, but since there was nothing he could do about it, he would just have to make the best of a bad situation.
Having that talk with Solange’s father left him feeling some kind of way. Frank is praying their talk will keep his son in law from acting out because he really didn’t want to have to hurt him. However, as a parent, his job was to protect his child by any means necessary. What happens when push comes to shove? Will Solange decide to leave her husband for the sake of their baby or ride with him through sickness and health?
If you or someone you know is being abused, seek help. Abuse isn’t love and it is never okay.

Dreadful situation as Solange's hope that Demarcus' change for the better would occur...Sevyn was a great friend. This book was a tear jerker but also a story that needed to be told. Lady Lissa has a way of pulling emotions out while I'm reading these stories that keep me in constant prayer for the victims. Highly recommended 2 book series

Why?...

Why was he so evil to women? What made him the controlling person he was? I just don’t get it. I wish the author would have gave more insight as to what made him so abrasive. Smh. I guess we will never know what makes of a narcissist maniac.

Emotional but Great Read

This was truly a sad story. I've witness plenty of women go through situations like Solange's. It was also realistic being that it hits close to home for a lot of women. Most women would call Solange weak, stupid, or dumb for being with Demarcus. Especially by her being raised in a loving home with loving parents. However I felt sorry and pity for her. She thought she could love Demarcus enough for the both of them. She thought by making excuses for him would be enough to make him change. Unfortunately Solange loved a man more than she loved herself and thought she could "fix" him. Demarcus was a monster who didn't want to accept responsibility and accountability for his own actions. His arrogance and controlling ways ultimately ended up being his downfall. As parent's. It was hard for Anna and Frank to fathom let alone believe what their daughter was going through until Demarcus made a decision that changed everyone life for the worse.

Too real

This book dealing with domestic violence was too real. DeMarcus isolated Solange from her family and friends in order to have complete control over her. He wasn't man enough to acknowledge or get help for his demons. It was so much easier to take out his life's frustrations on his wife. He was a bully and a coward, as are all abusers. Solange paid the ultimate price for loving someone who didn't know how to love. This happens too much in real life. I hope anyone experiencing this gets out before it's too late. This series, although unpleasant and brutal, was not an exaggeration. Well done.

Ughhhhhhh

Why Solange? Why? Okay so I RARELY give 5 stars because I reserve the 5th star for books that tell a very powerful story with a profound message. So, this is probably only the 3rd book that I've give 5 stars to (well 3rd and 4th since it's a series lol). But THANK YOU LADY LISSA!!! It is so important to get the word out about domestic abuse. There are too many women who end up being Solange's, so this series is definitely able to shed light on that type of situation. 5 stars!!!!

Sad

I don’t know what I’m going to say about this book. I didn’t expect the ending of this book will be sad and emotional.

This book is a learning experience. We have to be careful who we are dealing with. My heart goes to Solange. She doesn’t deserve to treating like this. I don’t want to say anything to Demarcus.

Lady L brings out the emotional message from this book. Domestic abuse is no joke.

Lady Lissa thank u for bringing awareness to DV whn u write these series

Emotional Wreck

My god, I cried so much for Solange, Why don’t men appreciate and respect women enough? Why do women stay, after everything, all the abuse, lord have mercy! Thanks to the author for the domestic violence awareness, this is happening everyday, all day. We gotta know when to walk away or Lose our lives at the hands of the one who supposedly loves us! Great job Lady Lissa, I will definitely recommend this book

Must Read

Lady Lissa had a way of taking real life issues and bringing it to paper. So many people going through the issues of domestic abuse and never speak of it. This book brought all that to where you could actually feel the emotions everyone was going through. I think this is a must read book for all as it was a real eye opener.

So sad, he was such a coward, and a controlling fool, as they said if you see something say something well this is nother if you hear something say something, please as Neighbors, friends and family, you do not have to get involved but at least call the cops. Was very emotional at the end of this series so sad😓

Unbelievable

I cannot believe that I read this series. I did not understand domestic abuse until a very lucky co-worker told me her story of fear for her and her children. I said she was lucky because she is on this side of dirt. Believe what you see, hear and feel the first time.

I like the books, but didn’t like the way Demarcus treated Solange right after they got married it was like he owned her. Didn’t like the fact that her parents was in her business but sometimes they can be your saviors. I hated how everyone was to blame but him. He just needed a man to beat his ass like he did her.. I would have never considered being with him after the loss of my baby

Glad I read this

I cried. And Im not really a sensitive person, but I cried after I read this book. It's a realistic view on domestic violence...women get caught up thinking the man will change, and they will be convinced to the point they don't see anything else but that man.

SAVE HER

OMG THIS WAS SO GOOD...SO SAD THAT SOLANGE HAD THE CHANCE TO GET OUT AND SHE DIDN’T. IM SO MAD THAT DEMARCUS HAD SO MUCH CONTROL OVER HER NOW SHE GONE. NO PARENT SHOULD HAVE TO BURY THEIR CHILD.

Two thumbs up! This story touched my heart. Solange’s love for DeMarcus killed her. The emotions I felt while reading this book were genuine. Continue the message of domestic violence through your books.

I am writing this review with tears running, Solange loved Demarcus so much that is cost her. Demarcus had some issues that he never dealt with. I feel bad for Anna because she felt it in her heart that her daughter was in deep...

I felt so sorry for solange. She had been through hell and back with DeMarcus. Her family tried to step I and help but it didn't do anything. This was a tough story to read.

Heartbreaking

I felt as if the story dragged on but it kept my attention. I would've like to have known why Demarcus was so controlling and abusive. What was the root cause of the anger. Good read overall though!

Good book

The ending of this book almost had me in tears. As much as I want to say Solange could not have been that naive she was. If only she would have paid attention to the signs in the beginning.
