Based on the promises of God, children will see that God is completely trustworthy to keep His promises. Just like He did in Bible times. Just like He does for them today. Through the stories of Adam and Eve, Abraham, Joseph, Peter, Paul, and many more, children will learn about the character and nature of God and His unending love for His people. Offer children the chance to learn about the promises God made to His followers in the Bible, and the knowledge that they still get to experience these promises today. Each chapter features a promise from God accompanied by a story example from the Bible and an application for children today. Max Lucado, beloved pastor and bestselling author, is a revered authority on biblical teaching. Yet his gentle, loving approach makes it possible for even the youngest children to understand God’s tenderness toward them. Through beautiful illustrations and compelling stories, Max will guide your family through God’s unfailing goodness and faithfulness through the promises He made, and how He kept those promises in Bible times and how He still keeps them today.

As with other books by Max Lucado, this children's book is a powerful rendering of God's truths and is graciously done in a manner that children can enjoy while being educated to the important fact that God Always Keeps His Promises. He always has. He always will.

The book takes stories and events with which children are most likely familiar and retells them in a beautifully scripted text that flows with ease encapsulating the promises of God with you, God helping you, God loving you, etc.

The telling of these stories and the assurance of the faithfulness of God's promise keeping is truly a treasure. Every home with children should have a book like this to instill this truth in the child's heart and mind.

The illustrations are very nicely done. I don't care as much for the "faded" colors on some of them, but they are still quite nice. The book is hardcover and very nicely bound with a ribbon marker affixed to the spine.

I heartily recommend this book.

I listened to this in the car with the kids. It is definitely written more like a devotional than a novel so it didn't exactly lend well to listening/ reading all at once. That being said, it was nice to listen to it straight through over the course of a couple days as we drove around town because it connected the big story of the Bible - the old and new testament and how all the stories build off one another showing God's faithfulness. Hilde made lots of comments about what we were listening to and it started many conversations in the car, so I say it's a win! I would say it is probably better to read together in more of a devotional setting than listen to straight through on audiobook, but really it works either way!

This is a great book for middle grade elementary kids that adults will also enjoy. There are 25 8 page chapters going through the Bible, each one expounding on a Bible promise illustrated by that Bible story. The Bible story is illustrated with full color illustrations & the last page gives accompanying Bible texts.

Amazing insight for kids and adults alike. This is probably the best children's "Bible stories" books I have ever read, and I've read many. I don't know who enjoyed it the most, my 8 year old or me. The lessons are invaluable to all ages.
