The review of different beer styles, ingredients, glassware etc. is good and very informative. The patches that we are supposed to scratch and smell are a good idea as beer tasting is aromatic and if done well this could help a lot when setting words to your tasing experiencing. Unfortunately they are not done well, some it is hard to get a distinct smell from and one example smelt of cloves though is was not supposed to. Furthermore, quizzes placed mid chapter asked questions that you had to read beyond that point to answer. The idea an knowledge is there, but the book is lacking in execution.
Fun but felt like is was too basic for anyone who's motivated to read a book on beer. There aren't even clear explanations of what the different kinds of beers are; I felt a topic was often being written around instead of written about. I'm trying The Beer Bible next.
