PEARLS AROUND HER NECK

Moira Aurelia has put her faith in a demon. She offered her hand and he took it. Partners. Just like that. Black eyes and sinful smiles, she trusts an incubus to lead her into the abyss if it means she’ll finally find her dad on the other side. Her real dad. The creature who cursed her.

Or blessed her. Because from the way Severus—snarky, seductive Severus—watches her, touches her, ravishes her, Moira can’t decide if this new body is a curse, or if she’s finally growing into the woman she was always meant to be.

POLAROIDS AT HER FEET

Unable to fathom how this woman, this ethereal creature, has so much raw power over his inner demon, Severus tries to keep her at an arm’s length while he helps her hunt down her father—but he can only abstain for so long.

Moira is the sweetest hell he’s ever tasted, a woman who squares off with his truest self and doesn’t even flinch. When he’s with her, the loneliness disappears, the bitter ache in his heart—mended. How can he resist such a divine temptation?

Meanwhile, the Farrow’s Hollow demon community is positively aquiver when news of Moira’s heritage leaks—and suddenly Severus isn’t the only demon in town who must have her.

Liz is a Canadian author who grew up in the Middle East. She has a degree in Bioarchaeology from Western University, and when she isn't writing about her own snarky characters, she is reading about other people’s snarky characters, babying her herb garden, loitering on social media, or taking care of her furbabies.

Liz dabbles in both paranormal and contemporary erotic romance. Her paranormals are usually dark and angsty, and her contemporaries are stress-free smutfests, but you'll find both riddled with feels. Most of all, she loves writing realistic characters in fantastical settings.

4.5 - "I'll remember..." Stars!

We return to Liz Meldon’s The Hunt series with book two; Prey picking up pretty much where Predator left off.

"Be careful what you wish for…"

Severus and Moira are firmly in investigative mode after the revelations of her origins in the last book, and as their discoveries grow the attraction between them simmers into a full on boil as well. New characters get more page time in this installment as well and I must admit the author has intrigued me with Alaric. I hope we see more of him in the latter stages of the series.

When he was with Moira, touching her, breathing her in… the rest of the world had a knack of going quiet…

I don’t want to say too much about the plot in this one, as there too many opportunities to inadvertently slip up and post a spoiler, but I will say that I for me, I know when I am reading real quality when a book produces any type of emotional reaction from me, and my God Liz had me reading with my heart in my throat for the last 25% of the book.

Let the darkness come…

It wasn’t pretty, I felt the pain the characters were experiencing, and I am absolutely dying to know where the next two books are going to take me. Thankfully, Stalker is due for release in May, because I am dying to see how Severus and Moira, pick themselves up, wash the blood off, and get on with the story after what happened in this one.

This was rebirth… Not. The. End.

ARC generously provided by the author, and it was a pleasure to provide the above honest review in exchange.

4.5 that incubus gets me really hot stars

And so we're back with another installment in the love story of Severus and Lily Moira. I'm sorry I'm sorry, I just can't seem to let go of the fact that Severus makes me think of Severus Snape which in turn makes me think of his love for Lily because

OK OK I promise to not go there anymore because #RIPAlanRickman, and now I wanna cry.

Anyways, about this story:

I. Love. It.

After the Predator ended on such a bigass cliffy, I was positively dying to read Prey, and Liz did not disappoint. While the last book was about finding out more about Moira and Severus and the rest of the demon world, Prey starts off with a bang. Right off the first page of this book you feel the tension, as Moira's world slowly and steadily changes.

And at the center of it is Severus. Her incubus friend, or as Moira puts it "the only person she can trust in this world".

I have to say, I effing loved how Moira ans Severus's relationship grew. It didn't feel too forced, and it didn't feel too slow. And those sex scenes were HAWT!!!

I am in love with Liz and her writing. I'll discuss all the plot points and why I reduced stars once the series is complete, because with each being just a novella, I want to wait for the rest of the books to fill in the gaps I noticed.
Also I NEED Stalker ASAP!!!

PS: Please tell me Alaric and Cordelia are getting a spinoff?!?!

So the story picked up right where we left off and I loved the underlying sexual tension between Severus and Moira while they are on the hunt for answers. It’s been a long find since a paranormal series has sucked me in and hasn’t let me go! I loved being apart of the journey as Moira discovers her new abilities and realizes that everything isn’t at bad as she thinks it is. I loved her transformation from the last book.

Can we talk about Severus? He is such a loveable demon. I know, I know but it’s the truth. I loved how he was fighting his feelings for Moira but slowly and surely finds himself falling for this half breed. And he definitely knows how to show his appreciation for Moira in more ways than one.

The last few chapters of this book had me glued to my kindle. I wanted to shake Moira for being this stupid but I had no idea the situation should would get self into would be that bad. I’m really looking forward to seeing what Moira next move will be after this ordeal.

We meet some new characters along the way during the story and I can’t wait to see what they bring to the table. I hope that Alaric and Cordelia get their own story down the road. I would love to read more about them as well! This was a well written and action packed, sexy as sin book that has me dying for more!!

A pretty solid sequel. Probably a 2.5/3, rounded up. Just two things that gave me pause but I won't mention because they're spoilery.

Fan yourself sexy and heart-racing action. Absolutely unputdownable. I thought I'd seen it all in the world of paranormal romance, but Liz Meldon has proven me wrong with The Hunt series. This refreshingly original take on the world of angels and demons makes for a gripping story and this second book in the series is packed full of surprises as Moira's true self begins to show and Severus finds her impossible to resist. In addition to the many revelations about Moira, we also learn more about several other players in this game as Moira realizes that things aren't always what they seem and allies can come from unlikely places. With some fascinating characters on both sides and an ever-building tension leading to a hold your breath conclusion, Prey is a great addition to the series. The author does give us a small break with the conclusion of this one in that it's more open-ended than earth shattering cliffy, but it certainly left this reader chomping at the bit for more. I can't wait to see what's next in this world of angels, demons, magic, and mayhem.

I am so addicted to anything Liz Meldon writes. I remember telling all of you that I loved book one but I never expected to love this book even more! If you are looking for a fun action packed steamy paranormal romance then I highly recommend this series. I loved that book two was more. More of everything. More action, more steaminess, more mystery, more everything. The World building is original and refreshing, the characters are well developed and the story kept me on the edge of my seat. I had to read this in one sitting and of course I am dying to know what happens next. I am so eager to get my hands on book 3 to figure out what is going to happen with Moira and Severus. I also am dying to know how Miora will deal with the events that unfolded in this installment.

4.5/5 Rating

The connection between Moira and Severus continues to grow. Throughout the story, they are constantly on the hunt. Moira keeps wanting to know more on who her father is and what she might be changing into. And I love that Severus is there every step of the way.

I was hoping that Moira wouldn't be a foolish likeable character but that wasn't the case. I wanted to shake her and have her see reason. The betrayal, which occurred in the story wasn't surprising to me. Well, it was surprising to Moira but not me. Moira is something special that can be used and/or destroyed. I hope the ones who did her wrong gets what's coming to them. And I hope Severus remains by her side every step of the way.

I can’t wait for the next one! Moira, Severus, and I’m totally crushing on Thompson. *wink* Who doesn’t love a sexy vampire? Prey takes off immediately and takes you on a Demon/Angel ride that had me screaming BLACK EYES for daysssss. Moira and Severus are hot on top of hot and the thrill ride is just a great pile of epic proportions. Prey is hot, sexy, thrilling, and my gawd, I needed those wings to break through. This is a must read, readers. If you love a good paranormal romance, check this one out.

I don't know why this is so underrated, nobody seems to know about the series, but it is really good.

It is an urban fantasy romance, angels and demons and it is just so goood, Severus is the touch her and you die kinda man, is so attached to her Moira, I love them so much.

Moira is such a well written female character, the ending was perfect can't wait to read the third book soon.

Well wasn't that a ride?!

The second book in the series it obviously everything gets better, with a side of a lot of new informations, which obviously made us more awar of what we are getting into!

(Also more Diriel, but we didn't need that...).

(I mean he is one of the few villain I would be scared to be near, mostly in a dark alley!)

If the first book was kind of short and nothing really important happened (althought it was perfect to set up the mood and make you believe and sympathize with the main characters) we finally got the action (and the smut, yeah my Inner Nesta is really happy!) and I have to say I feel like you can feel perfectly the growth of both the style and the plot between these two books and I am always amazed when this happen!

Also I got to meet Cordelia and she is my new fashion icon, alongside the fact that, sadly my crush for Alaric will never see the light, because I really like the boy but I am not getting into a magic duel with a witch (I haven't even gone to Hogwarts!ì, so I have no chance against her...) (But I know he is in good hands).

HOW FREAKING COOL are Cordelia's powers?! I feel like what Liz Meldon created with her is a perfectly interesting new kind of witch, which just entered in my "Favorite wicthes of all time".

I loved Sev and Moira partnership, I feel like their relationship is extremely interesting and it has grown healthier from the last book, and I loved how Sev is always there for her, giving always suggestion (my favorite is the "you need to eat more") about her new status.

Still I feel like those cringy points are still there: I get locking people to avoide them running into bad guys but... c'mon...

Still I loved the plot and its twist, alongside the world which is perfect as I said before and I am really looking forward to see Moira kick some asses again!

The more I read, the more I become emotionally invested in Moria and Severus's relationship. I die. I love that they are absolute polar opposites but also equals in more ways than one.

Moira, you are such a pain in Severus's butt (like a fictional character can hear me admonishing her.) Mini-Spoiler-ish?? None of this would have happened to you, Moria, if you would've done as you were told. But then that wouldn't have made for a good story, now would it?

Prey picks up where Predator left off. Moira coming into her true self, but that also means that new dangers are making themselves known.

Prey is a fast paced mixture of romance, mystery, paranormal, basically everything you could ask for, or want, in a novel.

Okay... I’m at a loss for words.

In this book Moira is dealing with her new reality with the help of Severus. They are on the path of finding her father but it becomes increasingly difficult after many obstacles are put in their way. They also try to navigate through the insane attraction and sexual chemistry they feel around each other but it becomes too potent to ignore.

I was really hoping that Severus would change his lifestyle and occupation after finding Moira but I was wrong. I’m new to incubi books so I don’t know if they can change and survive sorely on the heroine but I was still hoping for it. Although the scenes aren’t described in this book, it is still made known Severus still performs his services. I wanted Severus to be more caring and Moira to be more in control as well. She didn’t even depict any distress over the fact that Severus still see’s his clients. Right now, I don’t like either of them and that sucks.

I’m feeling rather at odds with this books. I’m really hoping to like the characters again in the next book.

I got an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I love Liz Meldon's writing. Her paranormal books have very unique plots. This book is no different. This is book 2 in the Hunt series. In this book, we learn more about Moira and Severus. We learn more about Moira's capabilities and what does being a hybrid mean.

This book is nothing like anything I have ever read before. Liz's world building is fantastic. Her words wash over you and transport you into a world like no other and makes you want to stay there indefinitely. Some aspects such as demons, angels, vampires, witches are common paranormal fodder but where Liz excels at is her attention to details. She adds little twists that turn the mundane into something brilliant.

I love her characters too. This book is just a taste and my biggest gripe is the length. I want more. I want more Moira and Severus. I can't wait for the next installment.

Ragging storm. After discovering what hide behind her changes, Moira follow Severus lead in the search of her father. The attraction between the two continue to flare to our greatest delight. And shit is coming fast to hit the fan as Moira is awakening to her new world. Warnings at the beginning of the books are not for show, demons are bound to some horror and Moira is going to get a taste of it. Soon.
Characters get more and more interesting – I totally love Alaric- and newcomers are adding some spices. In The Hunt world, demons each have their own flavors and flaws. It is nice to see that no one is all-powerful and how they work around each other.
This book felt actually longer than the first (much more things are happening) but it was harder to put it down before the end. When reading the answer of Sev’s last question you will feel a shudder run down your spine. I await the next book with both excitation and apprehension.

I am totally enthralled with Farrow’s Hollow’s world of demons, sub-demons, angels, witches, and hybrids.

In Book 2, Moira and Severus definitely grow closer. With Severus, Moira finally achieves her elusive big “O”. She begins to discover more of her power as a hybrid angel. She also, cruelly, learns more about the community she is to become a part of. (I am seriously hoping for, and looking forward to, some “kick ass” revenge.) Through Moira, Severus is discovering that there is a woman who can handle who he is. He realizes that the circle of those he really cares about is increasing and that there are aspects of the evolving Moira that he still has to learn. (Surely that bite has to mean something in the future.)

I am anxiously awaiting the next chapter in a story I’m not sure I want to see end.

I received an advance copy of this book and am I voluntarily leaving a review.

ONE NON-STOP EXPLOSIVE READ!!!
Woah! Ok, I've gotten that out of the way so I'm jumping head first in here. I could tell you all about the book, the plot, how awesome I think it is. But you wouldn't get just how bad ass this one rates on the richter scale. This has everything you want in a read. Yeah, it's fast paced, smooth flowing and captivating. You want action packed, nerves on edge, heart pumping, adrenaline rush with all the twists, turns and unpredictable surprises? You hit the jackpot. Liz went well beyond entertainment and hit out of this world bad ass. She has taken me from the privacy if my own home and thrust me dead in ground zero. It's like I'm part of what's happening and not from the sidelines. If you want something to rock your world. This is what you'very been searching for. Liz has surpassed greatness. She hit phenomenal without so much as breaking a sweat. Liz has set new boundaries for others to follow. One explosive read Liz.

I cannot begin to express how excited I was for the next installment of this compelling story. After reading Predator, I was very curious to know what awaited Severus and Moira as they looked to discover Moira’s true origins. This author didn’t disappoint! Prey was a bit action packed than the first book and just as riveting. This is the kind of story that will have you on the edge of your seat. I was so eager to know how this story would continue unfold especially with all the twists and turns that would arise. It was no surprise that I devoured this book in one sitting. Even though this story has left me with more questions and suspicions, I am eagerly awaiting for the next installment of this highly addictive series!

Prey is the second book in this series. It continues the story of Moira and Severus. This is a series you have to read in order or it won’t be easy to understand. Moira, a angel-human hybrid, and Severus, a demon, have teamed up to figure out who Moira’s angel father is.

I went into this book thinking it was going to center around finding out who Moira’s dad is, instead there was a new twist put in about halfway through to the end. Without giving too much away, I enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the third book so I can get some answers to the many questions I have. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Things are really heating up. Moira is developing her powers and This is the second book in The Hunt series. Wow. I am anxious for “The Stalker” to see if Moira gets her revenge. I have a bit of a crush on Severus. A demon with feelings. This series has me hooked. I love Liz Meldon’s writing. She has the ability to transport her reader into the world she is writing about. So this picks up right from Book1. Severus is helping Moira under who and what she is - why her body has changed. And has agreed to help find her "father". Only problem is...she is no longer a secret in the demon realm and, for SOME reason, they are ALL interested in her. Probably not a good thing!
I really love the relationship and chemistry developing between Severus and Moira. And, yes, I did have a "I want to shake some sense in you" moment with Moira toward the end... but therein lies the danger an suspense!

Prey The hunt book 2 is awesome!!

Moira she is a very naive girl who thinks that she is s dying but she is changing into a angel. What a horrible twist her own father wants her dead, and he hires a demon call Diriel to do the job. But Dirial has other macabre plans, and he tortures Moria in a savage and pain full ways that hunts me terrible. But Moria is not alone she has Severus her handsome incubus demon and he has a plan to rescue her with the help of his cousin Cordelia a demon witch and his friend Alaric a hybrid son of prince of hell.

This is a Fabulous PNR/Thriller/Romance. This action-packed storyline is well-written, fast-paced, intriguing and thrilling. The chemistry is off the charts sizzling, with treachery, and certain realizations inserted into this read. The characters are defined, determined, strong, and defiant. I loved this installment and am craving the 3rd. book. Once you read this book, you also will need the next book to find out what happens next. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
