You came like hope is a story of two broken souls ,who were falsely accused , corned and wrong by the society . It a story of Peehu and Adih
Both the protagonist have been victims of society prejudices . Its a story of love , hope and second chances . It not just a story about the between the protagonist. But it’s also the about self love , hope and believing in yourself .
The story is beautiful and well written . The language used is descriptive and soothing . The narration is smooth and engaging . The pace is appropriate and keep the story flowing without any jerks or pauses.
The characterization is complex and multi layered .
All major characters have been provided with a strong background story and reasons for the personality .
The situation and the problem faced by these characters are well written . They are highly relatable and can be easily found . The author wonderfully portrays the both sides and evils of domestic violence. Again the characters seems to portray all the complexity and emotions attached to the such crimes very well.
Overall it was a interesting book and I would highly recommend it.

I genuinely fell in love with this book because I came across one of my most unforgettable fictional crush ever. Hey, Adih, please be there as you are. I simply loved the easy, simple language . The characters are developed okay. Somewhere I cannot help feeling how fictional it gets in between when the parents as well as everyone can just accept a totally different personality as someone who is no longer there. It seems a little farfetch. But I totally loved most of the characters except for the main protagonist. She seems a bit manipulative from the very beginning whatsoever the reasons she might have. My most favourite characters were Adih, the man, and Meenu, the child character. I had a good time reading this.

Adih is a strong personality which is difficult to come across in contemporary reads.

The writing style of the author is impressive.
The cover is attractive and the title of the book is relevant to the story.
The story began at a perfect pace, slowed down just a bit and then picked up speed again.
The author has done justice to all the characters of the Novel (each mentioned in the blurb of the book); she's described a scene well, dealt with the emotions of the characters beautifully. The story flow is good; slightly slow for a few chapters as mentioned before but for the rest of the book it's smooth.

The language is simple and impressive, almost poetic at places.

'I've heard that we should be careful what we wish for. Because sometimes, a wish fulfilled becomes worse than a curse.'

Peehu is a simple girl who lives under the shadow of her twin sister, Pakhi, and considers herself unlucky. One fateful day, her life takes an ugly turn and their being identical creates more havoc.

Adih, a curt yet sensitive man, is still recovering from a sad & murky family history. His life revolves around his lovely niece, the only family member left in his life. He is a lonely man, still he is sure of one thing --- 'never trust a woman'.

It's basically a beautiful love story.

The story starts in an intriguing way. It's especially very engrossing in the second half. Like you might want to finish it in a single sitting. The writing/language is good. The characterization is good, I especially liked the way Adih's character has been portrayed. There are several nice, thoughtful quotes in the book. I loved the conversation between Adih and Peehu.

You Came Like Hope is a good, very good story! But, I have three (major) problems with the book ---

1. For a reader like me, the feel & the look of the book is important. The layout, the font. That is missing in this book. Even the publishers' name is not mentioned. Even though the cover is pretty, the book overall looks a little unprofessional.
Also, the blurb --- it's not catchy enough for this intriguing story.

2. It's repetitive. Same thing has been told repeatedly. At some parts, the author has followed 'Tell, don't show' rule. Things have been over-explained like we, readers, would not understand. While certain things (For example the dream Peehu recalls so many times) need to be more descriptive, but they have been whisked away. The story has been told in first person, but sometimes, the narrator manages to know (even justifies) about the other person's feeling too. I found it odd.

3. Execution, especially in the first half. First two chapters confused me. The Pooja-Arunav sequences have been inserted between the main chapters, and frankly, I didn't find it important or interesting until I reached chapter number 11. Then, I actually re-read those chapters, and found them meaningful, however at certain points they seem rushed. I did not understand the need to hide the identity of the characters here.

I so wish the book was written in "third person - dual Point of View". I would have loved to know the adjustments Peehu made because of the trouble created by similar identity. I felt the first person narration killed the curiosity, mystery and psychological pressure the author could have built (especially in the first half).

I spotted a couple of writing/editing errors too.

Despite all these low points, for me, it was a good, engrossing and quick read. I really enjoyed Peehu-Adih moments. If you enjoy love stories, you should read this.

I am not a fan of romance novels, I am not a fan of love stories but "You came like Hope" somehow managed to get through to me.
The story is woven wonderfully with a female protagonist who has a twin sister who dies in the beginning, That is enough to get you thinking of what next. There are a few places where I stopped and marveled at the way the novel goes, there are twists that are expected to happen, as a reader you are wishing for it and the plot delivers it.

Although as a Grammar Nazi, I found a few grammar mistakes, that can only be construed as my desperate attempt to find fault with this novel. The characterization and the depth of each character is rather deftly and neatly structured, at times with master class.
The language is simple and easy to understand, there are no cheesy dialogues, no romantic overtures, it feels real. A little too real in reflecting the emotional threads that bind us.

This third novel from Jyoti Arora is a page turner and a light read that you can binge read in a day, the aftereffects of the novel stay a little upto thirty forty minutes, as a reader if the book can make you think even after the last chapter has ended then as an author, you have done justice

Peehu with her past life experience had developed a inferior feeling about her and stays away from the society. Where as her twin sister Pakkhi is successful at each and everything. Life throws a chance for Peehu to be successful like her sister. That chance makes a way for her to meet Aadhi, her love and Mani. Soon Peehu understands the chance that the fate has given her is wrong. She backs off from that but soon she faces the consequences for her mistakes. Will she lose Aadhi? Aadhi has his own past life which pulls him from falling in love with Peehu. Will they overcome their past to win the future? The start of the book was really different. Doubted on which genre am I reading.

Two people who have dark past life meets at a point. Author intelligently portrayed the relationship where two of them didn’t fall for each other out of pity. Peehu reminds of girls we meet in our day to day life. Aadhi in turn is quite unusual person and that made me to like his character. Uday was genuine with his ways,Couldn’t confine him as an antagonist.

The book was a quick read but obviously gave warmth to the heart. This story travelled so smoothly as there were no drastic emotions or scenes like other stories. It’s a pure romantic novel.

Overall, You came like hope will give us a hope towards life, love and trust.

A beautiful springtime read~ It will make you feel the beauty of spring after the cold winter

"You came like hope" starts on a very interesting note where Peehu, one of the protagonists of the book is shocked to see her parents mourn her death. From the very first chapter, the author grabbed my interest in the book.

This book is not a regular love story. It tells the story of two beautiful yet flawed characters: Peehu and Adih. Both of them have been treated unfairly by the society and have been compelled to take refuge in lies, isolation, blaming and self-loathing. They are the embodiment of "hope" in each other's lives...the hope that was not present in their lives before they met each other.

Author, Jyoti Arora addresses some very important issues in the book that makes it a very beautiful read. Through Adih's story, the author has shown how some women take advantage of being a woman and can spoil an innocent family. The author has shown the hypocrisy and gossiping nature of relatives.

Author Jyoti Arora's book 'You Came Like Hope' is a smart package of hope delivered to your doorstep and thereby to your hand. It plants the seeds of hope in the reader's mind. The book begins with an ending - of life. But this ending is juxtaposed later with glorious revelations of hope. The storyline is interesting.
The book is a must read for those feeling lowly or depressed.

The 3rd offering from the impressive ‘Lemon Girl’ author landed in my lap. I devoured it in one night.

Pros: a] The premise has been rarely, if at all, handled by a female author. It will definitely perk up the drooping male morale, while also serving as a gentle reminder to women that power misuse is a crime, irrespective of gender.
b] Good opening hook. It intrigues the reader and reels them into the story.
c] The underlying theme - about 2 negatives merging to create a positive- is heartwarming.
d] Adih makes for a quintessential wronged and noble chivalrous hero. Girls will melt for him (It helps, of course, that he’s tall, dark & handsome.) The emotionally brittle and flawed Peehu provides him a good counterpart. The reader wishes they’ll overcome all demons (inner & outer) to unite.
e] The conflict escalates with Mr. ForbiddenFruit Adih, the tacit disapproval of Peehu’s parents, the menacing shadow of Uday and Peehu’s own guilt.

Points that could’ve been better: Personally, I felt that ***SPOILER AHEAD *** a] the school-level accusation levelled at Peehu doesn’t seem shattering enough to crack her confidence and scar her for life. b] Uday, the anti-hero is permitted to showcase his sunnier side as an ambitious, driven businessman. If only he hadn’t been overtly nasty, he could’ve provided a worthy whom-to-choose dilemma for Peehu.

Overall it’s a quick, pleasant, absorbing and enjoyable read. It strikes the right emotional cords. It succeeds in making the reader root fervently for the lead pair. It dares to deal with a highly relevant topic in today’s world of concocted slurs and guilty-until-(& even if)- proven-innocent social judgement.

●A brilliantly written book that keeps the readers hooked.
●The plot is definitely mesmerising, with characters that are well detailed.
●The climax is outstanding and the story is refreshing.
●The best part of the book it ended at a perfect time without rushing and dragging the story unnecessarily.
Personal Views-
This story portrays complex characters. This is a story of self discovery, where Peehu discovers herself in her truest form, and Adih discovers the means to love someone which he thought was permanently lost. Lies, trust, love, relationship, bonding all forms a major part of the book. This book was really an emotional read for me and I couldn't help shedding tears of loss and joy at the same time while reading it.

Overall I enjoyed this book. The alternating chapters took a little to catch onto, and that drew away for the first 1/3 of the story, I wanted to skip them because they confused me, but these things usually explain themselves eventually so I pushed through, and ended up enjoying the glimpse into Adhi’s past. I agree that it could be beneficial to have it be written in third person. I would have like to hear more in detail of Peehu’s transition into her sister’s role. I liked the storyline, of one twin taking on her sister’s persona. I loved the family loyalty and the family that is created in the end.

My Rating: precisely 3.4 stars.

In you came like hope, Jyoti has tried to show a different side of domestic abuse, not the usual kind of women abused. The underlying plot of this seemingly simple love story is the tale of a married man, a supposedly good man, really very good enough to not understand the evil designs of a woman. This woman is a spoilt child knowing not what she really wants, and ends up marrying the good man without an iota of why. What happens is a grave mishap, not one actually, several, one after the other. The man doesn’t understand what to do, and actually reaches the maximum limits of his patience, and his reaction costs him and his family dearly.

Cut to the story of Peehu, the younger twin of Pakkhi. Though the twins are absolutely identical in their looks, they are chalk and cheese when it comes to their attitude in life. While Pakkhi is more smarter or more focused and chooses Uday, who completely adores and admires her, Peehu is full of remorse over an incident, that doesn’t sound that strong enough to make her insecure and lacking in confidence. Meanwhile an accident causes Pakkhi’s death and makes Peehu take her place without a choice, in fact it is a misunderstanding of the people around her.

The author explores Peehu's doubts and her confronting of the bitter truth and coming out of it. Meanwhile Adih, his issues, his niece, his family’s woes are brought out. In many ways the two complement each other. But well there are several things that throw spanners to spoil the possibility of a sweet and chocolaty love story between them.

Who or what are these wrenches and what happens to Peehu and Adi? Is there any hope for people who become victims to highhanded people who make others dance to their whims and fancies? Well that forms the rest of the story.

A fast paced quick read, this is a love story narrated in a simple style that can go a long way in giving you hope.

It's been some time since I read a romance. This book is a cool breeze of subtle romance. This is the story of Peehu, who thinks herself as an unlucky girl. Peehu overcomes many failures in different stages of her life but still feels depressed as she is not smart, lucky and good looking like her twin sister Pakhi. But, everything changes on one day when Pakhi dies and Peehu replaces her sister's place. However, she realizes, being herself is more rewarding than pretending like her sister. The story is about being ourselves with our own imperfections and proving ourselves to the world.

I like the characters of Peehu and Adi. They are really fighting with their emotions to get over their past. The character of the little girl Mani is very good and motivating. The character of Uday is very real too with jealous, smartness, hatred and with an ambition to become a successful enterpreneur. The narration kept me glued to the book until the end and the words flew easily between chapters and scenes connecting them well.

One thing I didn't like is Adi misunderstanding Peehu from a small incident and making a big mistake which decides the future of both their lives. Anyways, it's good that he realizes his mistakes and escapes from his insecurities in the climax. I don't want to reveal anything more from the story, but all is well that ends well. So, I just say that climax is positive.

The cover of the book is simple and the title is relevant to the story. The pace is just right and romance is subtle. I recommend this to fiction lovers who enjoy some real characters.

My Rating: 4.5/5

PS: I have received this e-book from the author through book r3vi3w tours and this is my honest opinion on the book.

🔷
'You Came Like Hope' by Jyoti Arora is romantic fiction..with a emotional touch to it! It's a love story between Adih, a charming person with a daughter suffering from Thalassemia and having a rumoured past...and on the other hand there is Peehu, a self acclaimed unlucky twin sister of dead Pakhi. The story revolves how in spite of all the odds and rumours Peehu falls in love with the broken Adih...and how he is reluctant towards it! Will they meet rather all the odds?? Or will they give up from their inner demons?!
🔷
#CHARACTERS: In character build up part author has done full justice! She has beautifully expressed how our emotional past and dark self hamper our new relationships! From Adih's character I got a bit frustrated because of his over introversion and not letting Peehu in....in spite of having feelings for her! I love the characters Peehu and Rajni..and their optimism! Peehu's parents, Pooja and Uday are a perfect example of our nagging society!
🔷
#WRITING: Author uses a very simple yet effective language expressing all those beautiful emotions in a applauding manner! The narration was crisp and engaging😇
🔷
#MY_VIEWS: I sort of connected with the story line because of the beautiful depiction of emotions! Its not a fluffy kind of Bollywood romance! This story also shows very complex issues like societal rumors, disparagement, and surface level love ( of Uday ) Story has a warmth to it..which I love!
🔷
If you are looking for a beautiful love story with an emotional rollercoaster ..this book is for you!

The story revolves around Peehu, Pakhi, Adih, Uday, and Mani. Pakhi and Peehu though both are twin sisters are two different personalities. Pakhi a confident and charming girl who receives success every mile where else, Peehu who has bad luck, and is a complete opposite of Pakhi. She always wishes to be like Pakhi, and god approved her wish. What will happen next? was the question that remained in my mind.
I loved the title and cover of the book. It too attractive. The plot that the author has set is impressive.
The story started at a slow pace then picking up the grip. It was just a perfect pace. The tempo of the story is also good, full of twists and turns. I loved the characters. I fell in love with Adih's character. The author justified each and every character well, everyone had its own importance. The author has written this story beautifully, one can easily connect with the story. The relationship that two sisters shared, cousin's bond, parents behavior, regaining confidence etc the emotions that were described beautifully. The pace somewhere was slow but the curiosity to know what will happen next made me read this book till the end. I loved the way the book started. The author left no stone unturned to make this story an interesting read. Adih and Mani's equation, Rashmi and Peehu's equation were my favourite. Overall, it's a good engaging, fiction story that one must read.
The amazing plot, strong characters, simple and connecting language makes this story worth a read.

I would recommend everyone to read it!!

For me it was a beautiful tale , mixed with so many emotions .
By the end of the book my believe in love and hope grew stronger.
Being an ardent fan of romantic novels, I couldn’t stop myself from finishing it once I started reading it.The author has done a great job in portraying characters, and has very nicely expressed that how one’s dark past can affect new beginnings and relationships. As the story progressed I got more attached to the characters, may be because of the simple language used by the author and the emotions oozed out of those simple words.
The crisp narration and complex issues like societal pressure ,rumours etc discussed by the author, the story turned out to be not just a mere romantic tale.I highly recommend this book .

Plot:
The plot is simple and straightforward. Adih and Peehu find themselves in each others lives. A series of events have led them to where they are today, but each individual has some hurdles to overcome for themselves before they can commit to the other. It is a journey that they have to take together and yet separately at the same time in order to be able to let go of their pasts to embrace a future together.

Character Development:
I liked the characters of Adih and Peehu. Uday really irked me. But they are all developed just enough to give the depth to the story.

Language & Narrative:
Simple and easy to read.

The story has been beautifully narrated. It takes along a line of unintentional and indirect partiality faced by some kids in their families where they are compares to their siblings and how it affects them in their life and ideologies. Two stories are interwoven seamlessly. It also shows that a woman has the capability to make as well as break a house through the character of Pooja. It also shows how a wrong accusation can destroy a whole family. Overall the story is worth a read and is in easy and understandable narrative.

At a glance, You Came Like Hope by Jyoti Arora is the love story between Peehu and Adih. As the protagonists, both their characters are well developed through their past and present stories. The both have some experiences in their pasts that stops them from taking a chance with each other. While the focus remains on how they work through their personal issues, we also learn about a few people in their lives and their struggles.

The book offers much more to the reader once they take a chance with it. In disguise of a love story, the book provides insights to domestic abuse and how even men can fall victim to it. While the truth about crimes against women is horrifying, no one talks about how even men can fall as a prey within the confines of his own home.

The author done an incredible job of telling a wonderful story. But I have to mention here - the blurb of the book did not really work for me. I had almost passed up the chance of reading this book because the blurb felt off putting.

Jyoti Arora’s You came like Hope is about the dichotomy of love and identity, unpeeling the layers in the female character and explores to depth the contrasts and similarities at the same time. The female character is the lead in a narrative where she wears her vulnerability on her sleeve unabashedly in a story that never ceases to surprise the reader in every sequence. It unfolds like the mystery similar to the potboilers that we don’t get to see on screen anymore. In short, ‘You came like Hope’ is a very contemporary love story and beautifully tapping the identity of a woman, ego trip, guilt while offering a unique interpretation on the complexity of relationships.

A tale of mistaken identity, drama and the suspense laced at the same pace as the parallel story adds to the beauty of the plot. The characters Peehu and Pankhi whips a storm with the entertainment quotient going a notch higher at every moment be it romance, conflict or the confrontation while portraying the relationship between between Peehu and Adih verging on friendship as an antidote to love.

The book boasts of light moments of romance handled in a deft manner where the ice cream licking act subtly expresses friendship slowly growing into love. There are several high moments, be it the birthday party or the intimacy plucked like tender flowers adding sheen and magic to the emotions of love.

Thoughts:

Everyone has their own journey, their own share of problems. Yet, we are the ones who judge others by their choices without knowing their side of the story. I'm glad that the author brought out this beautifully in the form of a story.

Rating and Review:

'You Came Like Hope' is a poignant tale of how love and hope can lighten someone's life and make it a little more bearable.

The cover is one with a divine aura that you can't help but drawn towards its presence.

The right pace sets the narrative easy and flowing. The story was narrated from point of views of two characters. The central plot and the sub-plots intermingled well. Most of the characters were portrayed to be empathetic possessing layers that they didn't reveal to anyone. Due to the course of time, they gradually shed them, one by one getting rid of their inhibitions. The emotions they felt were eloquently described in words.I developed an instant dislike for Peehu's character, I thought of her as someone who would retreat from the problems thrown at her instead of facing them head on. Regardless, her character was sketched well. I grew fond of Mani, as the story progressed, she was someone who can brighten anyone's day though suffering from a life threatening disease herself. The dialogues rendered by all the characters were a reflection of their personality. The inanimate objects that comprised a scene were elucidated well. The author shows her language prowess amidst an emotional sequence. The events are stringed together coherently in order to form a moving story.

The narrative could have been more engaging. Some relationships were ambiguous and difficult to comprehend. The story was dragged a bit in the later parts.

Okay...

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Amazing way to start the story

I am still very much in joy that finally Peehu and Adih got the love and respect they craved for. Amazing story 😍
