Jared & Kieran #2

Jared's Fulfillment

Rate this book
Kieran
My relationship with Jared has lasted too long. He’s mesmerizing, beautiful in his devotion, pure in his need. He reaches parts of me I thought no longer existed, places I’d never known were there. His submission is a gift. His cries of pleasure and pain call to the most primal parts of me. I want to inhale him, own him, mark him as mine. He’s my boy and I need to be his Daddy, but my fear holds me back. I’ll fail him like I’ve failed everyone else I’ve loved. Before that happens, I’ll walk away.

Jared
I’ve never known security, love, or true pleasure before Kieran. With every touch, every command, every second of blissful, torturous pain, my heart grows and my soul is at peace. He protects me, spoils me, gives me what I need. Still, in some ways, he’s closed off and won’t let me in. But Kieran’s given me strength. I’ve evolved, and won’t accept less than I deserve…and I won’t let Daddy accept less than he deserves, either.

It’s a delicate balance: give and take, pleasure and pain. Together we can break each other down to our purest forms and build each other up again. Kieran always says I’m stronger than I think, but I know that together we’re invincible…if only he’d believe me.

We have two choices: say goodbye or fight for what’s always been out of both our reaches…fulfillment.

Warning: Jared's Fulfillment contains BDSM elements, domestic discipline, spanking, and daddy kink--without age play--between two consenting adults. If any of those things offend you, reading this book might not be a good idea.

I liked this one more than the first. I think reading the first book definitely got me ready for what I should expect in the second one. I'm not gonna lie and say I'm comfortable with this kind of kink, but I do like taking myself out of my comfy box and explore things I usually wouldn't read about. And even though it is not something I am interested in, I did find the emotional side of the relationship to be very interesting. That is what got me through this book. Even Jared calling Kieran, Daddy didn't seem weird and I was able to differentiate Dom and Sub from Boy and Daddy this time around. Although they are very similar, Riley was able to expand more on the differences in this book which made understanding it better for me.
Jared has grown quite a bit in this book and in the end has come to accepting who he is and that his kink nor his job defines him. That they are just a part of him. Kieran helps him get there, but Jared does a fair share of the work on his own. In return Kieran realizes he's only human and he is incapable of saving everyone and finally lets his guilt about Sam go so he can move on with Jared and be the Daddy Jared needs him to be. There's a sentence I never thought I'd type. LOL
But their relationship does not go smoothly and it takes a rough patch for them to come full circle in what they want and need. I didn't really feel a connection with these characters in the first book but it was obvious for me in this one. The love and care they show for each other was quite lovely.

Happy reading dolls! xx

While I enjoyed Jared's Fulfillment, I didn't like it nearly as much as Jared's Evolution.

The kink in the second installment was very different from the first, and a departure from my personal tastes. I LOVE daddy kink. I love it. And I happen to have a soft spot for a bratty boy and a dominate daddy. I love spanking, discipline, and humiliation, but other forms of BDSM do nothing for me. This book focused on the other forms of BDSM.

First of all, read this book only if you are okay with the MCs having sex with people other than each other. I've said this before, but this book duo is more erotica than romance, so people who don't want to see their MCs even kissing another person, back away.

Now, onto the kink. Jared's Fulfillment is mostly an impact play story, with pain and bondage being mostly highlighted. I felt like it was a movement away from the daddy/boy dynamic and more into a master/sub dynamic, which doesn't do much for me. I found this book to be WAY less hot, and I even started skimming some of the scenes towards the end. I love a spanking, but whips and floggers and hot wax are just meh for me.

I did love the , which is a personal kinky favorite of mine.

This book is also much longer than the first, and much more angsty. I still felt the strong bond between the two MCs, and I loved them as a couple, but where the first book was amazing, this book felt just very different and, frankly, just much less in my wheelhouse.

I'm glad I waited to read Jared's Evolution until Jared's Fulfillment was out. In Jared's Evolution, I could tell that we were just scratching Kieran's surface. he was so emotionally unavailable that I struggled just a bit. Even still, he intrigued me enough to prompt me to keep going and I'm glad I did, because Jared's Fulfillment was spectacular.

Jared's Fulfillment is dual POV, which I loved because I needed to get inside Keiran's head. He's not the easiest person to get to know, just ask Jared, so being inside his head for half the book was greatly appreciated. We finally get to really see why he's so afraid to love Jared. And that vulnerability makes him human.

Jared, also, really impressed me, here. He's strong, determined, and knows his worth, at last, and he won't settle for less than he deserves. I so admired him throughout this book and I was so proud! Anyone who ever tells you that a submissive is weak should try it out for themselves, so they can see just how much strength it takes to submit to someone else.

I also appreciated how mental health was addressed in the story. BDSM is not a cure-all, and I liked, very much, how Kieran, who is a psychologist, wasn't perfect nor all-seeing. It felt real.

Jared's Fulfillment was beautiful, and once I really got into the Daddy/boy dynamic, I reveled in it. I loved every aspect of Jared's relationship with Kieran. I loved Jared's strength and I loved Kieran's growth.

Recommended.

Well written, but I felt like it was too much. There wasn’t enough of the daddy/by dynamic, and too much other BDSM elements for me (wax play, whipping, etc).

Ahhh, I just loved this one! Mostly I think because we got Kieran's POV and finally get to really know HIM, his past and why he is the way he is. I loved that we got so much from him in this story, to know where he's coming from in his relationship with Jared.

I still don't get Daddy-kink - I mean, I do get why it works for these two and it is explained very very well, it's just not my favorite kink to read about even after this amazing story. But Riley did an excellent job in explaining it to someone who has never really read this type of kink before, and it was done with respect and an openness that I loved.

I love that things had to fall apart a bit for them to become stronger and find their way back to each other - I love the changes we have seen Jared go through from the beginning of the first story to this one. Very emotional, very sexy, and a great read! I was happy I was able to read them back to back!

Riley Hart, as always - amazing story, and I look forward to what'll be next in 2018!

3.5 stars for this one. I really enjoyed book 1 but I found this one to be a little more angsty and just off center for me. Jarad grew some courage in asking for what he wanted and Kieren kept blocking each moment of growth. I understand that this was the theme of this book, about forgiving pasts and moving forward, but I just didn’t like Kieren’s way about it. It is certainly a good book for Daddy kink readers and hope people appreciate Kieren more than I did !

There is some stellar writing in this book, there's an in-depth examination into parts of the BDSM world, there's some truly enlightened discussion about mental health and BDSM, and there's a really wonderful mutually devoted couple at the heart of it.

So why not a higher score?

Because, ultimately, the whole Daddy kink just isn't one that appeals to me as the basis for a relationship to the extent to which it takes place here alongside the complete submission and the desire to subjugate your own needs and desires into pleasing someone else.

It's utterly alien to me, even when it's as well written and clearly mutually beneficial as it is here. I just can't put myself into that head space.

The sex is kink-tastic and by turning off my brain's awareness of the 'Daddy-ness' part, I could truly appreciate the connection between Jared and Keiran.

Bravo to Riley Hart for writing this series, in moving out of her more 'traditional' MM romance style, I think she's crafted two really wonderful characters.

I just wish my brain would let me appreciate them to their full worth but sadly it won't.

“How did I survive without you?”
The truth was, that’s all either of us had done without each other—survived. Now, we lived.

First let me say that this is not a story for every reader, just like BDSM is not something every person understands or participates in. But what we can do as readers is be understanding, become more knowledgeable and push ourselves outside of our comfort zones at times and see that what may not be right for some is right for others. It is what makes us each unique. Nothing should be wrong that feels right.

Riley Hart as an author went there with Jared and Kieran’s journey. And after reading her note to her Readers at the beginning of this book, I gained even more respect for her as an author. She took on something so different from anything else she had ever written. She stepped outside of the normal MM Romance parameters or broke a few “romance rules”, as she states, and that takes such strength to do so.

“I followed my heart in this book. I stayed true to how the story came to me, no matter where it took me. Love is a universal emotion but there are no rules to it either. No matter how many people experience it, no one experiences it that same. As long as it’s consensual and between adults there’s no wrong way to love. This is their way.” – Riley Hart

What transpires within these pages is quite beautiful. It is a journey. It is discovery. And while some acts in this story are still so outside of my realm of understanding and comfort zone, Riley did so with a commitment to these characters and what they needed.

I am not about to spoil anything about this journey…it is one that should you choose to take on, do so with an open mind…with love and understanding. In the end, I think you too will fall in love with these amazing men and their story.

I do desperately want more in this series and hope that we eventually get more of Marco and as Dana suggested on FB, perhaps Charlie’s story as well.

This is Riley Hart's follow up to Jared's Evolution, her first debut in to the BDSM world and overall it was pretty good. Riley is an author that I've loved for a long time and was one of the first authors I ever read when i ventured into M/M romance. So knowing she was going to write a BDSM romance, I was all for it.

I liked this book pretty much the same as the first one, and I was personally hoping for something a little better from the second installment. As I mentioned in my previous review, I was looking forward to seeing Keiran's side of things more. He was definitely a mystery in the first book and although we did get to know more about him and his personal struggles. I still felt a disconnect to him as a main character.

I liked the BDSM style in this one, I liked the daddy kink as well which I find is something that is difficult to find an author who can do it right especially in the M/M community. However, for someone who is just venturing out in to the world of BDSM Riley Hart has done a fantastic job here in getting the chemistry and relationship needed in a relationship like this just right.

I was very pleased with how the author wrote Jared's character in this one, a lot more so than in the first book. His inner strength shone through in this one. He became an extremely solid individual, and used his new found indentity to build a relationship that suited both parties, and without him in this story it would have fell apart.

A good read, just wish I connected to the one character more but an overall interesting read.

A review by The Blogger Girls.

This was a great follow-up to Jared’s Evolution where we met these guys and where Jared’s life was irrevocably changed by Kieran. Kieran opened up things in Jared he wasn’t even aware he needed, but once his eyes were opened, there was little doubt he was yearning for the much needed structure to help him get through life.

In this segment, things are going well as Jared and Kieran continue with their Daddy/Boy relationship. From the get go, Kieran was clear that was all he was capable of providing. As you can guess, Jared’s feelings grew into more, and even though it seemed as though Kieran felt some of it too, he remained steadfast that he was giving all he could give.

Kieran has some issues. He isn’t perfect, which it takes a while for him to learn. He is so worried about failing Jared the way he believes he failed Sam that he ends up pushing Jared away for the wrong reasons. He eventually sees the light, but it’s a bit of a bumpy road for each of them until that happens. And once it does, it isn’t magically all better – something I was happy to see. They continue to work through things and each have to work to make things better.

There were a few parts of this story that dragged a bit for me, but I remained invested and wanted to see these guys through to the end. It is clear throughout what being a Daddy means to Kieran (and Jared) and all that it entails. And, while I don’t actually enjoy hearing “Yes, Daddy” all the time (it doesn’t sound natural to me for some reason), it clearly works for these two, so to each their own. Kieran is clearly committed to doing right by Jared, and it shows in everything he does, even if it isn’t always the right choice in the end. The scenes are interesting and creative as they explore together. And Jared does a lot of growing (though it is hard to picture he is 30 something years old at times) in this story, learns to stand up for himself, what he deserves, etc. (which, btw, Kieran was always pushing for).

If you like Daddy kink, or kink in general, you should definitely give this a try. Ms. Hart does a wonderful job, especially knowing she is stepping out a bit from her norm.

I really enjoyed this installment of the series, surprisingly so. I normally wouldn't care for any sort of dissent or break up with a couple, nor do I generally enjoy forms of BDSM considered heavier, such as whipping. This book has so much to offer. Not only all of the above, but an established couple, an interesting power dynamic between two adult professional men well-established in their careers, and a fantastic secondary couple.

The evolution of the changes in their relationship and the ultimate strengthening was very well done. I will definitely want to read this series again.

After the solid hit of book 1, this was a let down. Maybe I’m judging too hard but I wanted to completely clock out at 65% onward. Far too long and plotless. If it had cut off at 65 could have been a solid 3 at least. Just meh overall. There was a lot to enjoy but also just as much to skim...

4 stars. Wonderful follow up to the first book. I definitely enjoyed this way more than the first.

This one had a lot more heart and depth to it. It wasn't just sex and kinks and all of that fun stuff. I loved the character development and everything they went through to get to their happily ever after. I also appreciate that when they separated Jared slept with other people because that just doesn't seem to be a thing that happens in books. The couple in books break up and then they mope and cry over the other person and don't even try to move on until they get back together. Riley Hart let Jared try to move on and I appreciated it.

I loved that Kieran opened up more about his past and how much he'd changed to be with Jared. He's a great character and I loved him. The chapters that were from his point of view were refreshing and it was fun to see things from his perspective.

Also, Marco and Joseph were great side characters. Marco's friendship with Jared and Joseph's friendship was Kieran was perfect and I wouldn't mind getting a book about those two and their relationship.

Overall, this series was incredible and I will without a doubt be re-reading these two books.

What a great series!!

You must read Jared’s Fulfillment or this book will definitely not have an impact on you.

Book one was about Jared coming to terms with his kink. He craved the rules, the release, but he just couldn’t wrap his mind around relying on someone like that. Call a man “Daddy”. Kieran was that man. But he told Jared upfront, “Don’t fall for me because I never will.”

Book two was about them BOTH coming to terms with their relationship, but also with their pasts. Jared needed to let go of his pain and hurt caused by his parents and Kieran needed to realize that Sam wasn’t his fault. But they could only be stronger and conquer together.

A very solid 4 Stars to Riley Hart and her boys. Fantastic read!

I'm so glad I continued to read this. I enjoyed this book more than the first one. This book was definitely more emotional. There was better character development and I loved that we got some of Kieran's POV.

The angst and emotion in this story felt more real. As we get more background on Jared and Kieran in this book, it made me feel more of a connection to them. Their pasts certainly aren't all hearts and rainbows and I felt the tugging at my heart.

I did love all the information into the BDSM Dom/Sub/Daddy/Boy relationship in the book. It gives you more insight and helps differentiate the whole Daddy/Boy v. Dom/Sub. Even though there were times where it just all felt the same to me but at any rate it was well written. Still not as kinky for me and although this was more on the emotional side, it was still.....sweet. The sex scenes yet again were hot as hell. Not my favorite from this author but she still did a good job on delivering Jared and Kieran's conclusion.

I am so glad Riley Hart took a chance and wrote Kieran and Jared's story. Their story is by far one of the best BDSM stories I've ever read.

I loved that some of the story is told from Kieran's POV. He's been a mystery to me, and I enjoyed getting inside his head.

Jared wasn't the only one to transform throughout the story. Kieran had a lot of past demons to fight as well. The last couple of chapters gave both of them the closure they needed to put the demons to rest and the epilogue was perfection.

Kieran and Jared's journey to their HEA wasn't easy, but it was beautiful. I hope this isn't the last BDSM story by the talented Ms. Hart.

This is the second book and must be read in order. These books may not be everyones cup of tea, there is BDSM and full on Daddy/Boy relationship. I really enjoyed this second book even more than the first. This for me had more depth we got more of a insight to both Jared and Kieran's past a i loved that some of the story is told from Kieran's POV. He's been somewhat of a mystery to me, and I enjoyed getting inside his head.

Not wanting to give spoilers away, this second book is beautifully written. We find out so much more to both Jared and Kieran's demons. They way they both grew even when they are apart show how much strength they both had but didn't realise. Making them realise that together they can find peace, happiness, acceptance and ultimately love. And we all know Love Is Love.

I've been waiting for this one.....Getting back to Keiran and Jared was just perfect.....But omg some parts in this broke me heart for Jared and Keiran too......Keiran's past is heartbreaking.....But he is the perfect Daddy for Jared, the way he looks after him, the way he cares for him, the way he hurts him.....Their relationship just grows and grows, and once they get over their hiccup it grows even more.....Considering this isn't Riley Hart's usual type of book I think she has done the BDSM community proud with this....I hope she'll consider doing another sometime as she really does have an amazing gift.....I will definitely be re-reading this and it will definitely be going on my bookshelf in paperback x

3.5 stars. I actually liked this book better than the first. Probably because we finally got to get in Kieran's head. I can't really say I enjoyed this book, but it was interesting.
I have to admit that I am biased because I don't enjoy BDSM romance books. When it gets it into the scenes, and collars, and people getting whipped, it's just not my thing. usually when I pick up a book that starts to get into that, I quickly put it down, but I will say that this two-part series had an interesting way of easing me into it. I still don't like BDSM--haven't changed my mind on that-- but this wasn't as in your face as some other books I've read because it was gradual.

Beautiful

This book was the beautiful evolution both characters needed. It was everything the reader needed. It was raw, emotional, broken, put together, and simply stunning. Watching these two get to their happily ever after was an honor. This was everything I needed in a daddy/boy book and so much more. There are times when certain characters stay with you. K and J will be with me for a very long time.

The writing was amazing, side characters equally wonderful and I hope there are books or will be stories about j and m and Charlie

It was nice to see Jared come into his own and realize his worth and stand up for himself and what he wanted. Kieran had to realize that Jared made him come to terms with what he really wanted. He didn’t want to want him, but he had no choice. And if he couldn’t live without Jared he better figure how to live with him - how to show Jared that he realized how much he meant to him.

Oh how I loved this

Before I go into a fangirling rant, I have to be honest here. I'm a little perturbed with this. And it's for no other reason than because I know I'm going to be comparing almost all the daddy/ boy books I read from here on out to this. That's not fair to me, it's not fair to future books. How dare you Riley Hart, how dare you write something so beautiful!

And that's exactly what this story is, beautiful. It's beautiful and heart-wrenching and just oh so good. I'm hesitant to call it angsty because that feels a little cheap for the emotions this book invokes. But it definitely has its moments where where I was clutching my chest in pain. I got a little too invested and I have no shame in that.

....the struggle is real here because I'm at a genuine loss for words. I feel emotionally spent then the best way possible because this, for me, is a perfect romance. This is what I long for in my romances. I want to see my character grow both within themselves and together, I want to see them struggle and come out stronger. And I want to see them together and happy and you get all that here and so much more.

You have Jared who you just immediately fall in love with because he's flushed out and feels the real. Then you have Kieran who is just the swooniest of swoony daddies ever! I love that we actually got a little bit of his perspective in this book because she's much more than just Jared's daddy and I really enjoyed learning more about him and seeing him. They are so beautiful and wonderful together. You can feel their love for one another dripping from the pages. And it's romantic love this time which shouldn't be a spoiler, I feel like we all saw that coming. There are genuinely some super cute couple moments between them and plenty of smut. Which reminds me, ooo child do we gotta talk about the smut.

I know that the undisclosed desires series has been defined as erotica by Riley Hart and oh boy was she not kidding. This is 100% a romance but...they do it a lot. On page! Now don't get me wrong, I was living for this. Hot smut, quality dirty talk that could make a lizard sweat, safe sane consensual risk-aware kink and mama that's my church! These words my congregation so you better believe I was right at home. But for someone who's never step inside these doors, this may be a lot.
It's kinky and it's written by someone who knows about kink, that much is obvious. Everything is done well and with respect. And while I still think this is a digestible form of daddy/ boy the kinkiness of all make it to some people. If you've read the first book and liked it you'll be chill but I do have to put in that little warning. I don't want the wrong people to read this, get distracted by the kink and then give it one or two stars because that's not okay.

I also want to add that there's some pretty heavy subject matter in this book that I'm not going to get into because it's a massive spoiler. Just know it's handled well and with respect and care. Again, if you've read the first book you could probably figure it out. I know I did right off the bat so I wasn't shocked, but it is heavy so just bear in mind. It's also not used as a cheap plot device which I extra respect.

I know this book came out a while ago and it's only March, but this will probably be my favorite book this year. It's easily my favorite duet of all time and if you love quality characters with awesome friendships (absolutely adore Marco and Joseph), dope kink, it could be yours too. I'm not even exaggerating when I say 20 stars because five is just not enough for a book that has completely and utterly ruined me. Thank God she's got a massive back list right.

While I had a lot of conflicted feelings about Jared's Evolution (see my review here), I still felt invested in Jared's character development and I was curious about his HEA.

Most of my thoughts and suspicions that I had about Kieran from the first book proved to be right, and the dual PoV helped a lot with getting to know him and understanding his actions. Their dynamic still felt off to me, and while I understand that Kieran thought he was protecting Jared, Jared still ended up being hurt.

I loved Jared's character development, and I really enjoyed seeing him explore his submission and find some inner peace. His determination was impressive and I liked that he stood his ground for what he deserved.

This duet was overall well written, with some interesting notes on BDSM and society, but sadly the dynamic between the characters never fully worked for me. The character development was great though, and I really enjoyed the freedom and peace that Jared found in his submission.
