Skye MacKinnon is a USA Today & International Bestselling Author whose books are filled with strong heroines who don't have to choose.

She embraces her Scottishness with fantastical Scottish settings and a dash of mythology, no matter if she's writing about Celtic gods, cat shifters, or the streets of Edinburgh.

When she's not typing away at her favourite cafe, Skye loves dried mango, as much exotic tea as she can squeeze into her cupboards, and being covered in pet hair by her tiny black cat (who's secretly a demon).

Fun and light!

This was a short and sweet story with all the elements needed for an enjoyable read; even a malfunctioning and sassy A.I.!

I am still a bit new to these two authors, but the more I read the more I like their work. This is a great story. Lucy Partridge, general's daughter, top of her class and second in command. Feeling isolated from the crew, Hain, Rowan, Birch and Cedar, life has been difficult. With the untimely demise of the captain, Lucy has to step up and take control. She is determined to get to know her crew and run the ship better than it was. I love CC, the psychopathic AI that runs the ship. One minute she's happily telling them she's blowing up the ship and they will all die. The next minute she's calmly talking them to safety. That had me laughing like crazy. Lucy is smart, and capable of handling the spaceship. Despite the kidnapping and subsequent rescue, Lucy is determined to continue the mission alongside her men. I look forward to their next adventure. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This is a fun, sexy novella. I read this story in the 12 Days of Christmas anthology, which I had received as an ARC and voluntarily reviewed. I love the opening scene of this story - it is so funny. I need a CC in my life. I liked Lucy and her trees. I liked that Lucy was strong and went after what she wanted. I didn’t understand some of the guys past actions that were lauded to, but I’m glad they owned up to them, and I liked how they treated Lucy in this story.

I’ve read bits by both of these authors, but nothing that they’ve co-written before (Illumination by Arizona Tape and Paige Taylor and Seven Wardens by Skye MacKinnon and Laura Greenwood). I like the idea behind the story, but I think it was ambitious for the length of the read. It didn’t allow the authors the chance to really develop the story, which, to me, resulted in the story feeling both rushed and forced. All in, it was alright for a quick read, but I wouldn’t read it again.

WTF did I just read? Hard pass if you are looking for RH.

One expects a certain amount of sex between the heroine and her harem in this genre.

Not here...

Call me crazy but I like a lot more smut with my smut.

Not here. I even counted pages to make sure nothing was missing.

I received Partidge in the P.E.A.R. from the author/publisher (via BookFunnel). The gifting did not determine the review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion. I have to say, this little novella caught me from the first chapter with the psychotic spaceship AI. The overall storyline is simple and somewhat light reading, but a fun story.

This is a short but very entertaining book. Lucy finally get to captain her own space ship, but she has obstacles that she must overcome first. A maniac computer system, pirates, and four sexy crew men that she's never bonded with. I loved it!

This is a short but fantastic book. I absolutely love the snarky computer system. Lucy has her own ship and four sexy crew that never made her feel welcomed. It was hilarious with an exciting storyline.

This was a cute and adventurous space story. I really liked Lucy and her kick butt and take names attitude. She was great at what she does and had a great crew of men. This short story was fun, easy to read, had a great MC and I liked it enough to want more.

Entertaining short story. Even without the RH element I would have appreciated the initiative that Lucy showed as a new space ship Captain . Putting the welfare of her crew first. In fact I almost wish the RH element had not been there.

This is another short but interesting read:) The characters are interesting but I wish we could find out more about them. I think this is a lead into more of a bigger story though.I do recommend this as it does give a good build up to help with understanding more of a story.

Flamboyantly purposely silly and having fun with it. Gains a star for not pretending to be any more than it is.

"I received an ARC copy of this book."
Short read. Loved the wit between characters. Sounds hot but we didn't get any scenes at all. Loved how they are together. She stepped up and became what was need and should have been.

Such a fun read! This story has a good mix of humor and adventure, with some sexy men thrown in for good measure.
The story was very entertaining. I enjoyed the concept of the story. Additionally, the characters were very well done. I especially enjoyed CC, the AI that runs the ship.
Overall, this was well done, and I hope to see more from Lucy and her men.
