Rocco’s the sexiest chef in the world … and while I’m an aspiring cook myself, I’m currently a waitress at his restaurant. But this panty-melting, older man, doesn’t even know I exist.
That all changes when I find myself alone with him, in his kitchen.
And he tells me he wants a taste.
A taste of me.
Sleeping with the boss is never a good idea and when people find out, I may end up on the chopping block… but I can’t help it.
Sylvia Fox writes steamy stories about alphas who aren’t afraid of taking what they want, and the women who love them. Each release is a stand alone with a guaranteed happily ever after. Cliff hangers and brooding angst won’t be found here — Sylvia prefers a man who delivers a good spanking and a diamond ring.
I love Sylvia Fox but this was not one of my favs. This book felt rushed and you got really nothing from the male character. This book just fell flat for me.
I voluntary read an advance readers copy for my honest review.
This story was not the best of Sylvia Fox's books. I couldn't get into the story. It felt rushed, chaotic and unpolished. Although, the heroine got a lot of space in the book (and we could easily fall in love with her), the hero was almost non-existent in the story (besides one heroine's masturbation fantasy scene, their sex scenes and one or two normal-life scenes) so there lies my problem with figuring out why they even know anything about each other, let alone were together.
What was this? This had a good premise. It had a good setup, but then it went bad fast. Things happen almost instantly once the main characters get in a room together. He has no development at all and instantly wants to be with her forever with saying nothing more than she is blonde and not the normal New York woman. How is that description something to change your whole life for? How does this work? She flip flops between he wants me and he doesn't without putting any thought into it.
How did this story make it this far without the author or someone noticing it isn't up to snuff?
Hanna, a recent NYU culinary school graduate, should be on top of the world having accomplished what she did. But she's not, because instead of cooking as she'd dreamed, she's waitressing instead as she needs someone to take a chance on her, to let her prove how good she is. The restaurant she works at is popular and the executive chef is extremely talented, and sexy. Unfortunately, he's not a people person, and while her co-workers are friendly, they aren't to her, at all.
When Hanna, in need of any extra money she can make, accepts a side job working a private party through the restaurant's manager, she believes her luck is finally changing. Then when Rocco is charming, flirty, and apparently showing his interest in her, she feels as if she's dreaming. However, when a jealous co-worker catches them, her high hopes plummet fast, unsure of her place in Rocco's life.
Is Rocco being truthful with Hanna? Are all her dreams about to come true? Or will she be left broken hearted and unemployed? Is a HEA possible?
One-click now and follow along as two people, both interested in the other though they hide it, finally act on their feelings. On a personal note, I would've liked more character development for Rocco. Plus, his sudden interest in Hanna, especially his belief it was forever, doesn't seem real. We didn't get to see it happen, hear why he felt that way, aside from the fact she was blonde and a good cook, nor did we really get a feeling for Rocco as a hero at all. Also, the whole numerous references to Hanna being blonde and not like all the dark haired women he's surrounded with in New York...that was a bit much. It seems as if her only redeeming factor for him, beside being able to cook which he discovered later, is that she isn't a brunette (Of which, as a brunette, I must ask - What the heck?), leading to the implication his so-called feelings for her are purely superficial.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**
3.5 stars This book is short, fast paced and steamy. Although I read this book in one sitting, the story just didn’t work for me. Am I saying that others wouldn’t enjoy it? No, just that it wasn’t for me. I didn’t feel any chemistry between Rocco and Hanna at all. Rocco annoyed the hell out of me. He was immature the majority of the time. Was I happy that Hanna got her happily ever after? Sure. What I couldn’t understand is that: Rocco was a billionaire. He had a mansion and was well known in the culinary world. Yet he didn’t already own his own restaurant. He also had only been together with Hanna no more than two days and he bought her a restaurant. I had a few ‘’eh?’’ moments whilst reading this book. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an easy read.
A fast paced and short story with a surprising happy ending. A girl with a culinary expertise, trying to make her dreams come true and an older sexy chef. She is the waitress at this high end restaurant while he is their exclusive chef. It is love at first sight. If you're looking for a fast read with lots of sexy scenes then this is your book.
A fast-paced, hot angsty Chef with a naughty side! This for fun fantasy based read was a high fiving, putting the mean girls in their place, giving the waitress the upper hand, Even where that dirty talking Chef is concerned! A great break from reality! I read an advanced copy of Taste Me, any views expressed are my own, and left voluntarily.
A very quick read that could have used a little more story. Hanna and Rocco fall instantly in lust and the relationship is threatened by an old flame/coworker. I loved the premise of the story but there needed to be more substance to the plot. It felt very rushed and breezed through. It could have been a 4 Star if there was more to it.
°Non virgin MCs °Heroine's POV °Heroine is 23, hero's in his mid-30's °I assume he was celibate after meeting the heroine °Insta lust °Hero: superficial, douchey °Heroine: dumb, desperate °No push/pull °No OM drama °OW drama (hero's ex) °No cheating °Shallow relationship (imo) °Intimate scenes only between hero and heroine °Epilogue: 6 months later
Though i thought this book was H.O.T., but some details just didnt make any sense. I mean there were lots of questionable things on the H (and his ex. Oh my, the ex!). The plot swept me up quickly till i missed quite a few details. This book was insta love but i just didnt buy the story well.
