He is addicted to his phone and his new role as CEO. I’m addicted to getting some on my own honeymoon.
One of these things is not like the other.
I am pretty sure a serial killer’s lair is the only place in the world where I could stash my new husband so he can’t manage the acquisition of our new company.
And that seems a little drastic.
But only a little...
All I want is one week alone with him. Hours in bed, legs tangled together in ecstasy, room service and long walks on the beach in Hawaii.
Not vying for his kisses around a Bluetooth microphone. The Borg aren’t sexy in real life.
So I’m taking matters into my own hands and hitting “reboot” on our honeymoon.
We’re going to a place so remote that no one can find us.
Not even my mother.
Shopping for a Billionaire’s Honeymoon is now a full-length book of 150+ pages, with both Shannon and Declan’s points of view. Originally published with only Shannon’s viewpoint, this expanded edition is a result of reader feedback. People wanted to know what Declan was up to – so here you go. This book is meant to be read after Shopping for a Billionaire’s Wife and/or Shopping for a CEO’s Fiancée, but if you read it out of order (or even as a standalone), that’s fine. Shannon and Declan forgive you. ;)
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 5 New York Times bestsellers and more than 21 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French, German, and Italian, with more titles releasing in the future.
From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire in a rom com).
She also writes romantic suspense as Meli Raine, sexy shifter romances as DJ Jennings, billionaire shifters as half of the author team Diana Seere, and co-authors with Elisa Reed.
She lives in New England with her husband and three children in a household where she is the only person with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.
The well honed and expected hilarious Shannon and Declan Hijinx, balanced with their intensely profound sentiments of love. I LOVE Julia Kent's "Shopping for a Billionaire" and the CEO series. They're so outrageously funny, clever, and so delicious; I devour them in no time flat. I've been invested in Declan and Shannon's (a/k/a Hot Guy and Toilet Girl) story since book one. Therefore, I feel like a proud (non-invasive) parent to be witness through to their Honeymoon. This book begins the day after the wedding with some scene references to events in "Shopping for a CEO's Fiancée". Shannon is caring, thoughtful, and kind; but she's crazy and the most insane things happen to her. Declan is the consummate business man; he's calm under pressure, decisive, and unflappable. Until Shannon. Shannon and Declan's story began completely by chance; their meeting was awkward, memorable and infamous. "Shopping for a Billionaire's Honeymoon" has some great moments and surprise characters. Characters that I hope will show up again for their sheer comic value. Julia Kent makes this book completely Declan and Shannon centric. "Shopping for a Billionaire" runs the gamut of emotion. Julia Kent touches back on the comic gold chance meeting between Shannon and Declan. Then she brings it around to a deep introspection of the profoundness of their Love. As usual "Shopping for a Billionaire's Honeymoon" follows the trend of the rest of the series and has a quick pace. The characters are quirky and playful. The plot is romantic, comic, and thoughtful. This series is like crack. Addictive. And so so funny. There wasn’t a moment in this book where I didn’t laugh. From the plane and red garters to the handling mom and the sheik and the walk with the ants classic.
Declan loves Shannon and is trying to break free of his family’s business. He unfortunately is drawn in with the Sheik but also because the place his honeymoon is is afraid his brother will sell them. So they are given lots of attention. Add to that his desire to make their new coffee company successful, shannon’s wacky mother constantly calling and you have a inattentive husband. He doesn’t want to be. There is nothing more he wants than to worship his wife but thing keep getting in the way.
Shannon wants her husbands attention but so many things vie for it. Some of the things she does to get his attention are classic.
these two on their honeymoon will crack you up. You see the love and desire even get to have some steamy moments but it is pure entertainment this book. One disaster after another even when not trying. The ants on the walk are a hoot of a disaster.
Julia Kent once again gives us a fun, light hearted, entertaining and truly funny book. there is no drama, just two people crazy about one another having one thing after another impede on their honeymoon in the most crazy ways and the fun entertaining way they deal. Truly a must read for crazy fun sexy times.
I didn't think that Shopping for a Billionaire's Honeymoon was as crazy as the previous books. in the series. The primary focus is on the relationship between Shannon and Declan during their honeymoon. Both of them just want to be spending time with each other but something always pops up that requires Declan's attention so Shannon feels neglected.
There's always so many hilarious scenes in Julia Kent's books and this is no exception. It's very obvious they have each other in their thoughts. Shannon and Declan's relationship had evolved and progressed to thus far, and it was touching to see them care about each other so much. Honestly, even though Shannon complains that they don't have enough sex, I think I read more scenes than the previous books.
Still enjoying the series very much! I'm looking forward to the next book!
This was a cluster fuck of a honeymood but can you expect anything less from these two?!?
From all the business Declan was conducting to Shannon having such random things happening to her. I will say, this book was trying a bit too hard to be funny and I actually found it not as funny...
That being said, I know understand why they wont talk about the honeymood once they get back! LOL!!
Those aspects of Shannon and Declan's honeymoon just about sum up their relationship. Since they first met they've been constantly bombarded with other peoples influences and expectations. At first they seemed an unlikely pair, fortunately Declan is a man who knows what he wants. His diligence, and dedication to Shannon, has brought them this far. Shannon*s quirky family and friends, not to mention Declan's hard core, competitive family have provided barriers and distractions all the way. Now, on their honeymoon, they find they need to learn to be alone. Shannon & Declan shine in this book. They have to learn to trust each other, love each other, experience each other as a married couple. The rotating change of POV between Shannon's emotional ride and Declan's (mostly) logical journey is captivating, it provides a depth to the story that's moving.. Of course it wouldn't be Declan & Shannon without hilarious escapades and unexpected distractions and conflicts. The story is wonderfully woven and their love makes it all marvelous. Even with red garters & red ants in the picture.
I can’t describe in words how much I love this series and to have Declan and Shannon’s stories continue on after the wedding was like a dream come true.
The one thing with this series and with Julia Kent as an author is you know you are going to have a big grin on your face most of the time you are reading. These stories keep getting better and better. In this book, we see Declan and Shannon heading off to their dream honeymoon in Hawaii, lovely tranquil place, no phones, and no work disruptions; well you would think that wouldn’t you??? No such luck.
I must admit there were times I could have slapped Declan and felt so sorry for Shannon. There is one particular part which I thought was hysterical and semi spoilerish. This is where Declan injects Shannon with the EpiPen thinking she was stung by a bee, the hilarity is after she is stung and the way she acts, honestly, I was laughing out loud at this girl.
After constant disruptions from Declan’s’ phone, the hotel staff doing everything they can to suck up to them on his honeymoon poor Shannon is ready to give up and go home. She does though have a great idea and between Shannon and Grace they put a plan into action which would enable Shannon to have Declan phone free and all to herself for the rest of the honeymoon. Simple you say, well not quite….. as with all Julia Kent’s books in this series, something always happens, however on this occasion, it was not only Shannon that suffers but also Declan, which in itself is seriously funny.
I am on tender hooks until the next book in this series.
I can testify that if you have not started this series you really should, Julia Kent is a gifted writer, funny, emotional, but also sexy. Please keep writing these stories Julia, I love them.
I received an ARC from Julia Kent in exchange for an honest review...so here it comes:
I did not read OUR OPTIONS HAVE CHANGED, so I went into SHOPPING FOR A BILLIONAIRE'S HONEYMOON without having read Shannon's version of their honeymoon. I'm actually really pleased I waited, because I liked having the chance to go back and forth and see things from both Shannon and Declan's points of view as I was reading.
I was beyond pleased to see Declan take further steps to reminding Marie of his role as Shannon's husband and primary family now. Fingers crossed he continues to hold his ground on that in future books.
The idea of Declan without Grace has been bothering me since Declan quit Anterdec, so that there are hints of Declan trying to persuade her to join him at Grind It Fresh! makes me happy. As Shannon puts it "Grace has a master's degree in Sarcasm, with a minor in Boo Hoo" and it really helps her to keep ALL of the McCormick's in line.
If I were to give any warning, it would be that this particular book is even more "raunchy" then any of the other books in the series. Not a problem for some, but I did see in some of the reviews of SHOPPING FOR A CEO'S FIANCE that that had bothered some readers, so I wanted to be clear. The deeper we get into the series, the deeper we get into everyone's sex life.
There is nothing anyone can say or do that will take me away from this series. I love it from the beginning with a hand down the toilet in the men’s room. To multiple trips to the hospital for one thing after another. To the car with a big giant coffee bean on top. To diving in a pool fully dressed to the nines. To being helicopter out of a big event. To full and chaos in the city of sin. Just love this series. It fun, lighthearted, and sexy. I love the cast of characters from Shannon and Declan to Amanda and Andrew. The parents, siblings, friends, and foes makes this a series to follow. I get a laugh every time. I feel lighter.
This time around was no different. Declan and Shannon have finally, and I do mean finally tied the knot and are on their honeymoon. Although Declan may have forgotten to tell a few people this fact. But leave it to Shannon to make things very interesting. I loved reading this the first time as part of the another Shopping for a Billionaire book but this time I get Declan’s POV. This made things even more amusing. I fell in love with their honeymoon all over again.
If you have not started this series, please do, start at the beginning. Fall in love with Shannon, Declan, Marie, Amanda, Andrew and all the other. There are those you would love to hate and hate to love. This is a full service series.
I initially read the bonus novella of Shopping for a Billionaire's Honeymoon at the end of Our Options Have Changed by Julia Kent and Elisa Reed, and loved it! I was super excited when Julia announced that we would be treated to Declan's perspective in the full length novel, and boy! she did not disappoint!
We have Declan, the workaholic, and Shannon, the sexually frustrated new wifey, taking their honeymoon in Hawaii.
All Shannon wants is a little some-some on their honeymoon, but Declan seems to be in business mode, constantly on his phone, as you may expect after you buy a coffee chain!
This story had me laughing out loud, cringing and whooping, I adore reading about Shannon and Declan and their antics, their life is never dull!
I love the way that Julia portrays the love felt between Declan and Shannon. I recommend the Shopping for a Billionaire series to as many people as I can, and will be recommending this one too!
Cannot wait for the next in the series. And I shall end with a musing... Beware the fire ants!
If it can happen, it will happen. Declan and Shannon have to be the unluckiest couple around, but who needs luck when they have each other. I swear that if anyone has even half the love and respect that these two have then they are destined for a life of happiness.
Having previously read the novella version of this book (a bonus story with 'Our Options Have Changed') which is told purely from Shannon's POV, I already knew the basis of the story and the final outcome. With the addition of Declan's POV and some addition scenes this book has just got better and better. Declan's love for Shannon flows from the pages. Everything he does is for her, even though it may not seem like it at times, and in return everything she does is focused around him.
I challenge anyone who reads this not to laugh out loud at least once, I may have got a few odd looks from family members during the evening with sudden outbursts. Even without being there, Marie can still cause problems and James is not much better!
A must read as part of the 'Shopping' series. Already looking forward to the next installment.
I am one who has loved this series from the start! This book does not let you down. It is full of love and laughs as well as everything you would expect Shannon and Declan to go through on their honeymoon. The Shopping Series is addictive and a must read to any new reader. Julia's imagination and sense of humor shines in this book! I love it! If you thought their escape to Vegas was hilarious their honeymoon is just as interesting and hilarious! I am so thankful that this series is unique and one of the best. I am also thankful she continues the story. I grew up watching soap operas, this for me is like a modern day soap opera with a fun comedic splash. Thank you Julia for never letting us readers down! Your amazing skills are fun and enjoyable to read! This book is definitely worth 5 stars and more. I can't wait for shopping for a ceo's wife followed up with Shannon and Dec's baby!!
This book is laugh out loud in inappropriate venues funny. Shannon and Declan are on honeymoon and things just aren't going Shannon's way. Declan is distracted by work, everyone is dealing over themselves to offer good service...at the worst possible times, and outdoor sex is fraught with danger. I think the moment I laughed loudest is Shannon's reaction to a shot of adrenalin because I could picture it so clearly! Cross your legs towards the end...ants. that's all I'm saying . Love this book!
Side-splittingly funny. I'm not joking. I laughed so much my ribs still hurt. We don't get to see most of the zany antics of their family and friends directly "on-screen" this time around. But in a style that can only belong to Shannon and Declan, we get to watch Murphy's Law at it's vindictive finest. What are the worst things that can happen on a billionaire's honeymoon? Just read to find out. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
I was hopeful that it was only the character of Andrew that brought out this tell monster. Whatever happened to more show than tell. The constant internal monologues of the characters are boring. Until now, I have loved Shannon and Declan. Now I want someone to put me out of my misery. Bring back Marie and her antics. Anything except more pages of boring internal monologs to tell us what the characters are thinking.
Gently funny, without getting to the point of obnoxious, as some of Julia Kent's generally fun romps can pass the point of amusing to overly exaggerated or annoying. Most of the times the great summer/beach read type books that can even bring you to laugh out loud. This story, of Shannon and Declan's honeymoon (which they've sworn never to tell again) was genuinely hilarious, as the strain of Declan's workaholic tendencies and the pressure from his father and new mother-in-law crash into the bliss Shannon wished for their honeymoon. Competing with the business from their newly acquired coffee chain, Declan's responsibilities (though winding down) to Anterdec combined with his need to impress hiss father and compete with his younger brother, Andrew, the staff of the Hawaii Anterdec resort's desperate attempts to please and impress Declan in hope he'll feed a positive report to Andrew, the new CEO (whose ruthlessness in business is well-known by the staff), and the inevitable force of female biology that Shannon fears, combine to disrupt the Hawaiian sex fest of their honeymoon dreams. With the help of Grace, Declan's surrogate mother/assistant, Shannon manages to lure Declan away from the main resort, cell phone access, and most business responsibilities, to a "secret" resort location in the shadow of a volcano. In a romantic gesture, Declan convinces Shannon to make love outside, on the unfortunate location of a fire ant hill. Both Declan and Shannon are the victim's of a savage attack on their most sensitive areas, which despite excellent (if embarrassed) medical attention, they are placed out of commission for two weeks. To pile on, Shannon also starts her period, compounding the painful situation. They arrive at a place where they agree not to talk about the honeymoon. Yet you can see the love they have for each other, although sometimes as witness to their misguided intentions.

I can absolutely NEVER get enough of this series! Julia continues to make me actually laugh out loud when reading this series. If you've never read any of her books...then you are totally missing out and should at the very least signup for her newsletter and get her free starter books. You will absolutely be as hooked as I am.
After getting to have a front row seat into all thing Shannon & Declan from the very beginning, this book was so much fun to read. You get to see how far they have come from since the beginning and how things have changed now that they are married. Between the hilarity of all the things that happen throughout this book that left me in tears and having to read clips of this book to my hubby so he can laugh with me. This book as is all the rest of this series is a must read...
I can't recommend a better book to lift your spirits and take you away just for a little while.
This book made me fall in love with Shannon & Dec all over again😍
This book's lovely & starts from the 1st day of honeymoon I.e at the same time of Andrew & Amanda's oops-almost wedding fiasco.
Dec is immersed in his new-found CEO work but Shannon wants the time for herself, as it's their honeymoon after all.
Red garters don't work so when desperation kicks in, she takes charge.
In Hawaii, Bad starters- when Shannon is almost bit by bee. Due to bad timing, many appointments, nosy but good-thinking employees, they don't have sex for days.
Then surprise became disaster when Dec ‘plops’ whine on sultan & Shannon is hit on.
Frustrated, Shannon contacts Grace & she arranges a lone hut offshore, where shannon & Dec have lots of sex.
Though never think of outdoor sex, because fire ants may bite penises & take residence inside vagina. & Then one will be deprived of sex for 2 weeks😜
Declan and Shannon are on their honeymoon, finally! Away from the madness that is Shannon’s mother and the exploitive nature of Declan’s father they begin to relax. Well, at least one of them does.
Alone and ready to enjoy their hard won honeymoon, Shannon can’t understand why Declan is glued to his phone.
Declan is trying to make sure all will be right with their new investment and has planned a few business meetings during their honeymoon, unbeknownst to the new Mrs McCormick.
In this 11th installment of ‘Shopping for a Billionaire’ series, the romantic wackiness continues along with the disasters that follow Shannon wherever she may go. Join them as they navigate their new life together along with all the interesting family and friends that make them who they are.
Decent installment of the series. It’s nice to resist these characters that Julia Kent made us fall in love with so long ago.
This 11th book in The Shopping Series was so worth the wait! So many things come full circle for Toilet Girl and Hot Guy as they earnestly, and comically (this IS Shannon and Declan AND Julia Kent) begin their married and business partnership. Declan is determined to make their new venture an overwhelming success, but he is so intent that he’s leaving Shannon underwhelmed with thier honeymoon. So many frustrations and embarrising disasters (are there any other kind in the Shopping universe?) occur that what happens in Hawaii will forever stay in Hawaii. At the core of it all is the breathtaking love that these two lhave for each other and the dawning realization that they have the rest of their lives to live this marriage as they want. The honeymoon truly is just the beginning. Bravo! I received this ARC in return for an honest review.
I think Julia Kent does better when she writes short books. They seem to be funnier than way. While I do understand it's their honeymoon, Shannon should have had some patience and understanding about working. Yes they kept getting interrupted with all the staff but he also just resigned from the company that made him so much money. He needed to do things first to secure everything with a new company. I thought she should have been a bit more understanding.
However, I did not like that they lied to each other. That is not a great way to start a marriage. In that part Shannon had ever right to be mad about work especially since he was lying why he was gone the whole day and night.
The ending was hilarious not how I thought it was going to end. I thought someone was going to see them doing it in not have insects invade them.
ARC Review: Shopping for a Billionaire's Honeymoon by Julia Kent
Julia Kent was not on my radar until I read a perma - free novella of hers named, wouldn't you know it, Shopping for a Billionaire and Sharon and Declan with their unconventional love affair, have hooked me ever since. Ms. Kent blends laugh out loud comedy with flirty sex appeal and adds a little drama in for good measure. Shopping For a Billionaire's Honeymoon continues the sassy romance with a he said/ she said point of view format and more deep emotions but with the same light touch, flirty banter and heart that drew me to the series, the author, and of course, the characters in the first place. Amidst the fun and games is a connection in the making and I enjoy being along for the ride.
Oh my God, how I love this book. Julia never fails to make to laugh, exasperated and invested with Shannon, Declan and their families. When Declan is more focused on his phone than on her, Shannon threatens to take matters into her own hands - or more importantly, Edward Cullen - Declan starts to take notice. Featuring toilet girl, hot rich guy, crazy mother-in-law and all the other favorites this book embodies the theory, if it can go wrong, it will. As usual, Julia's writing keeps the story going at a good pace, so it never gets boring, nor do you lose interest. You really need to have read the Shopping series in order to get the most enjoyment and understanding out of these books, and that is not much of a hardship!!
4 stars I purchased a copy of the steamy novel Shopping for a Billionaire's Honeymoon: Shopping for a Billionaire book 11: Declan and Shannon by Julia Kent and this review was given freely. This Murphy's law over the top honeymoon story is really a "Comedy of Errors" and actually takes place before Shopping for an Heir. As Declan's father tries to turn Declan and Shannon's Hawaiian honeymoon into a media circus event, Declan resigns from Anterdec and deals with Shannon's intrusive and manipulative mother Marie, accidentally offending a Sultan, acquiring his and Shannon's new business venture, Grind It Fresh while having their chances for intimacy thwarted by freak accidents and the hotel's over helpful staff.
Extremely Funny, Highly Entertaining Honeymoon story of the couple that made me fall in love with Julia Kent's writing style in the first place.
Shannon and Declan ate the ultimate Opposites Attract Couple and it has been a heartwarming, LOL, emotional struggle for them to this point. Now they are finally married, but it seems that the real fun is only just beginning. They each have a different view of what the other should be doing on this trip and it is interesting to watch them fight it out and try and make the other see their point of view.
I received this ARC for an honest review. One word, WOW! I have read this entire series and loved every single book, this book is slightly different. Julia brings all her wonderful humor and love to the book, but she brings a dimension to Declan that I've never read the likes of. I felt what he was feeling. I felt that Julia brought Declan to the forefront in this book. Yes, I felt Shannon's honeymoon frustration and her love, but wow, simply put, wow to Declan. Even though you can read any of the 12 books as stand alone's, I highly recommend starting at the beginning, you won't be disappointed. Julia, thank you once again, for doing what you do.
Shannon and Declan have successfully married and now are on their way to Hawaii for their honeymoon except Declan can't seem to stop working. What hes actually doing is getting harassed by Marie and his father and trying to get their coffee empire started. Sometimes when I read romance and hear someone scoff about it I want to grab their hair and shove it in book like this one. On the surface it's a rom com and an absolutely hilarious one at that but underneath there are some pretry profound thoughts and prose being shared between Declan and Shannon. "What more about love do I not know that I don't know?" " No feeling is final." 5 stars for one of my favorite authors.
