Your business is everybody’s business in a small town.

Ten years ago, Willow Kennedy and Reid McHale were in love. Then College and life got in the way, tearing them apart.

After finding her fiancé in bed with a floozy, Willow is convinced to go home for her class reunion, her one hope, NOT to see Reid McHale.
So much for that.

Reid McHale, having wasted years in the mines, is a bit bitter. After running into Willow, quite literally, he tries all he can to avoid the woman who broke his heart, but this small-town man can’t seem to shake her.

What’s worse, the attraction between them is all-consuming and unavoidable.
Can it work for these once upon a time lovers or will the whole relationship simply get the Shaft?

Sometimes you have to grow up first....

by and1515

Apparently her loser magnet most have been activated again because clearly she missed the signs he was one.
But no matter she'd quickly invited him to vacate her domicile and to never darken her doorstep again.
She was more of a top shelf kind of gal while her ex-fiance evidently liked the bargin barrel better.
I called my bestie over to raise my spirits not crush them even further by playing fast and loose with my life.
My life is hard enough as it is without having to hear the last person I ever wanted to lay eyes on again would be at our tenth reunion.
It didn't take long for her to recall why she skedaddled out of here as far and as she could get; and the fact she never wanted to grace this little slice of dirt with her presence ever again.
Or the fact she was now having to lay her poor weary head at his Granny's because
her parents house wasn't an option at the moment.
And yeah she'd knew everyone would be watching her but really this was almost to much but all she had to do was to kept reminding herself the fact her bestie was on his way.
A long time ago she might have been the quiet introvert but not anymore she'd finally found her voice and if a vulgar word or serval came flowing out of it then so what.
I only meant to get Jasper settled; but of course the last thing I really wanted was to lose my grip over a box of old treasures yet here I am turning into a darn weeping willow.
Then of course they had to dig up that stupid capsule which lead to even more hurt feelings and bitter words.
But unfortunately this day couldn't get any worse because it all rolled down hill at super sonic speed leaving quite a lasting gift all over them.
There are just somethings that are to natrual to pass up even when you know you really shouldn't but you so want it.
They could continue going round and round over a decade's worth of old grievances or maybe just maybe they should stop the madness and realize it takes two to tango, it also takes the same two to make or break a relationship and it'll take two to fix it.

This dynamic duo is back with the start of a new series which shines with originality to be honest (not that I'm at all surprised). Shafter follows Willow Kennedy & Reid McHale who were in love when they were younger until college & life got in the way so they split up. Now, she's back in their small town for the reunion that she was talked into coming to, and she's seriously hoping that she won't run into Reid but of course, life seldom goes the way we want it to LOL! She literally runs into him, but Reid isn't the same boy she loved, nope, his life has turned him into a bitter man so he's not quite so pleasant. I mean, Willow changed in her own ways, but she was a bit lighter than him. Now he's doing his best to avoid her since she broke his heart, but again life is ironic at times so avoidance isn't going so well, and it only gets more complicated as they still have a very strong connection that won't be denied. Can these two face the past to have a second chance at love?! Well you know what to do to find out, and trust me, you want to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is one of those books that drives home a wonderfully written story from start to finish! These authors do not disappoint and it is so worth the time for this beautiful love story that will have rooting and fighting for these two. When you talk about brutal reality laying it all out there this is that book! I absolutely adore their writing style and the stories that come from them have been written with characters that have come to life and made reading fun with a sizzle behind it! You know what I mean if you read any of these authors works! This is the beginning of a new series these two have contrived and what a heck of a beginning this has been! With Reid and Willows story it is grace and fluidity throughout! You become invested with these characters and with what happens to them. It really is a unique story with feelings to make your heart sing!

This is the 1st book in a new series and is Reid and Willow’s story. These two were in love until life and college sent them on separate paths, and when Willow returns to their small hometown 10-years later for her class reunion, she is hoping to avoid Reid at all costs. Fate has other plans when Reid literally runs into her. Willow is not the quiet girl that left all those years ago, and Reid is bitter for the hand that life has dealt him working in the mines. Now every which way they turn they meet each other, and the chemistry is still intense and undeniable. Will these two get their 2nd chance at love? This is a well written story which is fun, entertaining, and with witty banter and love. I was intrigued throughout, and I look forward to reading more from this talented duo whose work I recommend.

Welcome to the Bishop Cliffs
This is Reid and Willow second chance to getting right. High school sweethearts, everybody knew that two of them belong together. Life happens and time and distance make a break.
Ten years reunion and everything falling apart.
They still have feelings, they never forget but now different lives make them review situations.
And this is when fun starts, situations gets steamy and family and friends get nosy and supportive.
Hilarious “grandparents” and Willow’s ,BooBoo.
This part is very entertaining and enjoyable.
Unfortunately for me the sexy part put me off. You can do it in public once but not every time you see each other.
This is my deductions in stars, 3.5*
I’ll definitely read next books in the series

Shafted is the first book in the Bishop Cliffs series and Reid and Willow’s story. Reid and Willow were in love when they were younger then college and life separated them. Willow returns to her small town for her class reunion hoping to not run into Reid. Things never go as plan and she runs into Reid. Reid is a bitter man and he isn’t so nice when they see each other. Reid does his best to avoid Willow, but that doesn’t work as well as he would like. The chemistry and attraction between these two is palpable. Will Reid and Willow be able to get over the past and find love again? A great read and one I highly recommend.

3 1/2 Stars from me......
Reid and Willow were high school sweethearts, but college and life caused them to go their separate ways. Now Willow is returning to Bishop Cliffs for her class reunion and inspite of trying to avoid each other, Reid and Willow meet up and are surprised they still have intense chemistry towards the other. Even thought they have both changed, one for the worse, they still find they have that spark. The book is well paced, the characters interesting, and overall a solid start to the Bishop Cliffs Series.

This was a fun second chance at love, small town romance. Willow comes back to her home town after her relationship implodes. And once she returns she realizes that she never wants to go back to her life in LA. But starting over in her home town. Getting back together with her high school sweetheart and a mess of other things isn’t gonna be easy. They will have to figure out this life and all it entails. This book was sweet and fun I I enjoyed every bit of it! I’m excited to read more from this series in the future.

I just love this duo of writers. Once you start reading you can't stop till the end of the book. Willow and Reid were together until they went separate was. Willow came back to town and saw Reid. As much as she wanted to stay away she just couldn't. Their feelings were strong for each other after years apart. Willow and Reid confessed that they still loved one another and wanted to be to forever and that's exactly what they do.

I think I would have like this better had they not been bickering at each other every couple of minutes. They professed loved for each other but I have an idea it was more of a sexual satisfaction. Then the doctor's ex shows up for some comic relief. But overall, the best character in my opinion was the gay guy.

One thing that was made clear was the inadequate medical care for the coal mining region and the powerful friendships that are made. I cannot imagine how hard that work is.

This is the 1st book in a new series and is Reid and Willow’s story. They were in love when they were younger, then went their own way. Now 10-years later, she back home for her class reunion, not wanting to see Reid at all. Over the years they both have changed, she is not the quiet girl she was and he is a bitter man! When her GBF Jasper talks Willow into going home to Bishop Cliffs, Jasper will be her plus 1. They end up staying with Granny Gwen because the roof caved in at her parents. When Willow and Reid McHale, her high school sweetheart, literally run into each other in front of the diner her mom and dad own, it starts a chain reaction. This story is funny, romantic, steamy, and ends with a HEA. Highly recommended.

Reid and Willow has a second chance of getting it right. They let time and distance break them apart. They still have feelings for each other but thinks that they have two different lives and will be wrong for each other.
