One kiss that burned so hot, I never forgot. Five years later. Audrey… the hottest woman I’ve ever known and my sister’s best friend. I was half in love with her for years. I moved on, and so did she. The universe rolled the dice. A dark, snowy night—no joke. I find her walking through the darkness. Christmas is right around the corner. She’s so d*mn tempting, I can hardly think. Maybe rules are meant to be broken. Maybe second chances are real.
Audrey
I’ve only fantasized about Dallas for, oh, too d*mn long. One wild kiss. Five years ago. I’ve never forgotten it. He’s tall, dark and dangerous…for real. FBI Agent, sexy man extraordinaire. He couldn’t be bothered with me. Maybe because he thought I was too young. I’m not anymore.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Audrey had a crush on Dallas years ago but he turned her away, mainly because of the age difference and his relationship with her family. They each moved on, him with his work with the FBI and she became engaged. After a horrible experience finding her fiance cheating she comes home and is on the way to her family's beach home when her car breaks down. Dallas is on his way to check on their home and finds her stranded. Stranded together in the home they are able to rekindle and heat up their attraction to each other. It's a beautiful love story between two people who are brought back together when the timing is better.

This book really drug on for me. At about forty percent I stopped reading and read a few other books before I came back to finish it. You would think with Audrey being a lawyer type and Dallas an FBI agent that they would be able to verbally communicate with each other. Instead they have so much inner dialogue that it’s a wonder they both can do their jobs effectively. Being told so many things and not shown these things in either flashbacks or as its happening makes the story really flat and keeps you from fully connecting with the characters or at least it did for me.
Audrey and Dallas had known each other for years as their families lived in the same small town and Audrey was Dallas’s younger sisters best friend. For Dallas that was the ultimate deal breaker plus Audrey being nine years his junior made him keep his distance except for one night when Audrey was home from college five years prior to them meeting up again. That one night of finally giving in somewhat to their attraction played around in both of their minds for all that time.
Now face to face after all that time as Audrey is dealing with the nasty breakup with her fiancé has Dallas feeling very protective and pushing him into giving into his desire to finally be with her. Audrey dealing with the betrayal by her fiancé and one of her bridesmaids is caught between wanting nothing to do with men and her long hidden passion for Dallas.
The premise of the book sounds great finally the two of them meeting up after all this time and being able to see if there is anything to their connection sounds like it would be a very steamy read its just the delivery that makes it somewhat dull. Too much inner dialogue some really convoluted parts to the plot. They really painted the ex in a really bad light as if to say make sure you really hate this guy and see these other characters are great. Then for some unknown reason Dallas goes from being a sweet guy wanting to let Audrey heal and get back to herself to a bit of a controlling jerk. He then takes off because he is so conflicted then we are never given a reason as to how he resolves the conflict and comes back to Audrey…maybe he thought it and we didn’t get to see how he did it.
The author has a lot of writing skill and there were no grammatical errors or typos that jumped out at me, which is why I didn’t make it a two star review. As for the characters while they had depth they felt very wooden and their numerous internal monologues just made the story drag for me. It also seemed the F word was one of Dallas’s favorite word and he used it a lot for a variety of things, nothing against the occasional use of it but with his education one would think he would make a better word choice.
How can I stop? How can I take a break from reading if I'm getting book after book on my Kindle to read and review?... I can't... I need to keep going. And honestly I don't want to... All I Want is to keep reading and reading till my head hurts. Lol J. H. Croix had presented us with hit after hit, all amazing books that once I started to read them I couldn't stop. Her writing is simple, hot, pretty detailed and with so much feeling into it. I'm loving every book... All I Want is her latest release and tells the stories of Dallas and Audrey. Dallas is an FBI agent that takes his job seriously, and that being said he needs to get away to get some rest. And what better way to do so than to go to his hometown. He could get some rest and watch a friends house but he wasn't expecting to run into Audrey. Audrey is a lawyer and that makes her travel alot. One day she got the surprise she didn't want. She caught her fiancé cheating her with one if her bridesmaid and that hurt... She needed to escape so she decided to drive to her hometown but once she's there she sees Dallas. Here's the thing, these two had a past together. They liked each other but the age difference was a major no-no so Dallas opted to keep his distance. They still have feelings for each other, feelings they thought they didn't have anymore but one glimpse and... I'm in love with this characters. Their story touched my heart. The plot is amazing, sweet, intense and very well written. The interation between the characters is beautiful and yummy and don't forget the hot factor... Just saying... The story progressed smoothly and that made reading so much more appealing. If you're a sucker for romance grab this book and dream. Amazing book J. H. Croix and I want more. What's next? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Stories set during the Christmas holidays are always a favorite of mine because the season is associated with joyous times and the possibility of something miraculous happening. J.H. Croix gives two people a second opportunity to be in a relationship, but it will never occur unless minds are changed and big risks are taken. With the help of friends and relatives, the couple might find what is missing in their lives is within reach if they will just take a chance with their hearts. I always enjoy a story written by this author, as the characters are so genuine while the plot is believably convincing, and ALL I WANT left me smiling and very happy.
When a friend wanted to know if Dallas Tate would go and make certain all was well with his vacation home, the FBI agent knew it was a great excuse to get away for a few weeks and revisit Haven’s Bay, Maine. His job has been rather demanding lately, and his former hometown along the coast is the perfect place for him to relax. But upon reaching his destination, Dallas discovers another person is already there ahead of him. Audrey Edwards is the one person who is vividly remembered from when he lived in this community, and seeing her again recalls a memory involving them both which has never been forgotten. Though circumstances were not right for them to be together years ago, perhaps fate will give them a different ending this time.
J.H. Croix captures my imagination with her colorfully depicted setting of coastal Maine, as it let me visualize the area and want to experience what winter would be like there, especially if I had someone like Dallas to aid in warming me up. This dedicated FBI agent may appear to only think about work, but his inner thoughts let me know there are plenty of emotional feelings also inside him. While his mind tries to deny the potent connection he has with Audrey, his body definitely realizes when she is around. For a man who is always in control, overwhelming lust can make Dallas act upon his craving for her in an instant. Since her adoration for him has never completely died even though they have been apart for years, she cannot stop herself from wanting to be with him in any capacity. Yet when things become complicated between them, some tough decisions must be made by both of them. Since the story is told from alternating viewpoints, I got to see how each was reacting to the same situation. There is even a playful dog in the book, and her antics had me grinning. ALL I WANT is passionately sexy and has engaging characters.
I voluntarily wrote a review after receiving a copy of the book via Booksprout - 4.5 Stars
All I Want is a winning story on many levels. It is a story based on second chances with THE one their heart desires the most but afraid to admit and of course the author is J. H. Croix!!! No matter where the story takes place J. H. Croix gives us all the components to an exceptional story that will draw you in to the characters lives and feelings. Dallas works in the financial crimes division of the FBI on his way from Boston to Haven's Bay, Main where he grew up to do a favor for a family friend. Dallas has many memories about his childhood hometown, some good, some not so good because this is where his family fell apart after his father's crime was discovered. On the long drive down the lane to the cottage he is to check on he finds a car half in a ditch but nobody is around, then he comes up on a lone figure walking down the drive shivering. When Dallas recognizes Audrey he knows something is wrong, she's supposed to be in Italy with her fiancé and she is the one woman he wants most. Audrey walked in on her fiancé with her friend and bridesmaid straddled on top of him when her flight was cancelled last minute. She was upset and hurt but things had been off for a while but Matthew pleaded for another chance and this is what she got. When she fled to her family home she didn't expect to have to deal with Dallas. He is her best friends older brother that she has had feelings for since childhood. When she demands he answer why he didn't want her in the past to figure what was wrong with her, she unknowingly opened the flood gates of passion, lust and feelings that have been buried for years leaving them to settle for second best when they thought it was better that way. Join Dallas and Audrey while they finally let loose on their combustible attraction and hectic lifestyles. When Dallas's sister shows up for the holidays and puts her two cents in concerning her best friend, Dallas heads back to Boston to get his act together. Can he really go on without Audrey in his life, or will she be able to handle the crazy hours and life his job entails??? J. H. Croix writes exciting stories about protective alpha males that are sometimes overbearing but lovable with their hearts of gold and the females that tame them are not your average meek and mild ladies but women that gives sass as good as they take it. His/ her POV, no cheating between the main characters, scorching love scenes, no cliffhanger and an eventual HEA. If you haven't read a book by J. H. Croix you are definitely missing out. I highly recommend this book so one click now.

All I Want by J.H. Croix is an engaging steamy romance novel that will grab you and keep your attention throughout the story. In this book we are introduced to two characters who have history together. Dallas is a seasoned FBI agent and he remembers all too well his brief time with Audrey years ago. Audrey is reeling from learning that her ex-fiancée cheated on her and when she comes back to her parents place to spend the holidays, the last person she expects to see is Dallas. Things look they will be spending the holidays together since Audrey's father asked Dallas to keep an eye on the place due to thieves breaking into other houses. The spark between them is still there the question is will they give in to it or push it away? All I Want is intense, steamy, engaging and hard to put down. Audrey is dealing with the pain of discovering that she should have just followed her instincts in concern to her ex-fiancée, Matthew. He wasn't what she wanted but she didn't think she could have the one that she wanted most. So when she breaks things off after catching him in the act of cheating the last person she expects to see is Dallas. She is still attracted to Dallas and she wants more with him, but she remembers the situation that happened between them years ago. Dallas is fighting his own attraction to Audrey but deep down inside he wants more. I love how this story flows. Audrey is going about cancelling all the wedding plans and working with her attorney to split the costs and Dallas is working his case but you still see the chemistry. You really get to see that there is something hot between them and they just need to let it become something more. I also like that the author throws more elements into the story that really take it to the next level (break-in at the house). I like that this story has multi-layers to it and isn't just straight up - them getting together, lots of hot sex and coming to realize their feelings for each other and admitting to them. I think this is probably one of my top 5 favorite stories by this author. I really enjoyed it and found it hard to put down. Definitely one to recommend to those who love steamy romances with engaging characters.
FBI Agent Dallas Tate was heading to Maine from Boston on a dark, snowy night when he spotted the familiar highway sign for Haven’s Bay. It had been four years since he was there last, but he definitely needed a break from driving when he reached his destination. The town was decorated for Christmas, with a tall tree decked out in lights in the center of town. As he continued on his way to the cottage he was asked to check on while his family friend was away, he stopped at a car half in a ditch, but the driver was not in it. So he continued on to the cottage. Walking down the long driveway, a figure looked up – it was Audrey! Dallas hadn’t seen her in five years! She was shivering, so they climbed inside his car to talk and warm up.
It was Audrey’s dad who had asked him to check on their cottage here in his old home town. Audrey was supposed to be in Italy with her fiancé and not expected home. She told Dallas that she had walked in on her fiancé who was cheating on her and she came home.
When Dallas and Audrey went inside the house, out of the blue Audrey startled Dallas by asking why he didn’t want her! Five years ago, he had shoved her away and ran out of her house. His family moved away and she forced herself to move on with her life. But he was the one she always wanted. Now he still treated her like family. Why did the men in her life not want her? She needed to know. This time she would not let him leave without explaining! Would he finally confess his feelings for her? Would they find their second chance?
This was a well-written, enjoyable book. The reader is immediately brought into a charming little town that, despite the snow, felt welcoming. Finding Audrey there brought up the mystery of why, since she was supposed to be in Italy with her fiancé. The pacing of the story was great, moving along easily enough to hold the reader’s interest and curiosity. The reader felt more like a participant in the characters’ interaction rather than just an observer. This book was a “whole body experience” and I was blown away!
I received a copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review; needless to say, I also bought my own copy to read it again and again! (And the model on the cover is one of my favorites!)
Fantastic book. JH Croix always gives us hot alpha males that also have huge … well that too but hearts and this one definitely has that with Dallas. He is a FBI agent that takes his job too seriously. He has no time for love in his life for many reasons but he contributes it all to his job. He needs a vacation so he agrees to help an old friend out and go to his home in Haven’s Bay Maine to check his summer home and make sure no one has vandalized it during the winter and to just chill there for a few weeks. This was his home town and has many memories both good and bad for him. Much to his surprise when he arrives there is already someone in the home. Audrey, the daughter of the home owner and she has fled her now ex fiancé and is basically hiding out in her childhood home. Dallas’s little sister Thea is best friends with Audrey so she was always around while growing up but she is not little any more. This book has lots of emotions going on. Things from Dallas’s past, things from Audrey’s past and present and the feelings that they share for each other. I was so drawn in to this book with these characters but JH always does that to me. I can always feel with her characters both happy and sad times and this book gave me both. Love the location of this story, I have never been to Maine but I could see it through her words so I’m sure it’s beautiful. She also gives us female characters that are strong, independent, and intelligent women that don’t need a man but want one as well as hot as hell-o alpha men that have a soft side hidden down deep and love with all they have. I received a copy of the ARC to voluntarily read and review this book and give my honest opinion. As you can tell I LOVED it! Such heart, I was actually brought to tears at one point, no spoilers here but it’s a great book and I HIGHLY recommend it.
Our heroine, Audrey, is best friend's with our Hero, Dallas' younger sister, so they essentially grew up together, even though he's several years older. She has harbored feelings for him since she was a teen, especially after they share a very hot kiss, but moves on with her life when he walks away. Dallas and his siblings lives are turned upside down after their mother passes away and their father is incarcerated due to his FBI investigation. As a result, Dallas and his siblings become closer to Audrey and her family, which is part of the reason he tries to suppress his romantic feelings for Audrey.
Due to circumstances, they find themselves together in her family's vacation home where Dallas is house-sitting due to recent break-ins in the area, and she is "hiding out" after catching her fiance cheating on her. The story is told from a dual perspective so we hear what's going on inside each of their heads and hearts. I like reading stories told like this, but in this one, the author overlapped the characters' internal battles too closely, often repeating the same scene from each perspective. As a reader, it felt like I was just re-reading the same chapter from a different point in the room, which dragged the story a bit. Perhaps it was the author's intent to prolong the sexual tension, but instead it created more of a frustration for the reader.
I enjoyed the premise of the book and the way the story played out, especially because of the supporting cast of characters and the role they played in "helping" these two toward their HEA.
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I received an advanced reader copy of "All I Want" by author JH Croix from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it. It is pure pleasure to read JH Croix books even being part of a series they all stand alone and each book invites you into a community where you meet old and new friends. So well written you can hear the wipers on the windshield and feel the chill in the snow frosted air. As an upset Audrey leaves her car in the ditch after a bad breakup with her fiancé she walks the remaining distance to her Parents home in Havens Bay, Maine. Dallas heads back to his old hometown to watch the home of an old family friend over the Holidays due to a few break ins in the area... Did I mention that "All I Want" is a second chance romance. You can smell the salty air off the ocean as Dallas rolls down the window of his car to speak with the woman walking... Audrey, what the Hell.... Hi, Dallas... Let the games begin Audrey is his sister Thea's best friend, she is also the daughter of the owner of the house, he will be watching. The chemistry between these two is scorching hot and comical Dallas is Controlled and Protective being an FBI agent while Fiery, Feisty Audrey's a Lawyer for the EPA. Sparks fly and you're kindle will heat up as these life long family friends work out the differences that kept them apart for five long years.... I'm sure you'll love this story as much as I the characters are so real and endearing. It's nice to spend a snowy holiday in Maine. Ho Ho Hot! JH Croix always has Happy Ever After endings... She just can't write them fast enough.
And this book fills that want! All I Want is JH Croix's best book to date! It is a well written book with heat, heart, lust and long lasting love. This is a second chance romance of sorts where the two have known each other since childhood and somewhat tried to see if it would work five yrs ago. But they thought it wouldn't work because the age gap between them was too wide regardless of their instant connection. While I won't include spoilers, fast forward five yrs. Fate brings them face to face again, they try to fight the sizzlin hot chemistry, they say it can't work.....their jobs, their lives as they know them, their age difference which doesn't seem that big anymore and all of their perceived issues can't be a match against their instant connection. Can they each get over the perceived issues and really make it work? Can they have more than just sex? Is their connection more than keeping each other warm during their encounters between the sheets or will they each go on to their own unfulfilled lives wondering what could have been? What could be if they give into their connection, can they make a life together that works long term? Does he really want a wife, kids, a family of his own? Would it work with his job that takes up all his time? Definitely recommend All I Want to find out if they get a HEA together or with separate lives? Truly a 5-Star, 2 Thumbs Up Sweet but Steamy Romance! I am voluntarily leaving this voluntary review, but full disclosure I did receive an ARC of this book.

Audrey and Dallas. Dallas is an FBI agent who is in need of a break and as a favor for a friend he goes to check on this friends house since there has been some burglaries, not knowing this friends daughter was also going to be there. Audrey is a lawyer whom just found out her fiancé is cheating on her with a friend. She broke up with him and called off the wedding. Now she needs some downtime to figure out how she is going to tell her family. It's not like she loved him Audrey was going to settle for someone she did not love, thinking she could not do better.
She always had a crush on Dallas but he denied her almost five years ago after their heated encounter he immediately stopped things being almost ten years older Dallas thought he was too old for her. Dallas is a good guy and he still wants Audrey. He thinks he is not good enough for her. As you know I love second chance romances and friends to Lovers romances and this one is sort of that. I loved that they both are still attracted to each other and Dallas was really there for her in her difficult situation.
Do Dallas and Audrey get their happily ever after. Well I sure hope so. You need to read this story to find out.
J.H. Croix knows how to write a story with heart and feelings and this one about Dallas, an FBI agent and his sister’s best friend, Audrey. He has always wanted her but didn’t act upon it until one night 5 years ago where she sent out to seduce him. But before it went any further than her satisfaction he told her to get out. Audrey tried to put that time out of her mind and settled with a cheating fiancée, when she catches him in the act she calls it off and goes to spend a month away from everyone in her family’s summer home. Dallas happens to be there because her dad asked him to check in on the place because of break ins in the area and is staying there as well for a month. Their past feelings can’t be fought by either of them when they are alone in the house, she knows she is in love with him now and Dallas has to come to the same conclusion that he loves her before it’s too late and he loses her. A great great steamy read that flowed beautifully with passion and sparks between them. I loved Audrey, she was strong, blunt, fiery, independent and didn’t beat around the bush when it mattered. Dallas was a bit stubborn and hard on himself and I loved how she drew him out and made him realize that she is what he really wants. Can’t wait for the next one by this amazing author!! *I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This was the story of Dallas and Audrey. Dallas was an FBI agent and when he is asked by a friend to check their summer home, Dallas thinks it is a good time for a vacation. Dallas shows up in the middle of a snow storm and sees a car in the ditch. When he finds the driver gone, he thinks they must have gotten help. When he is driving down the long driveway, he sees a woman walking, only to find it is Audrey, his sister's best friend and the daughter of his friend. Audrey was hoping to spend a few weeks alone at her family's summer home after she ends her engagement. Audrey is surprised to find Dallas and she wonders if it could be the time for her crush to become reality. Dallas is attracted to Audrey but because she is younger and the daughter of a friend and his sister's best friend, he thinks she is off limits. Dallas and Audrey are going to be alone for two weeks and they finally have the chance to act on their attraction. This was a good story with a lot of steam. I really liked Dallas and thought he was a good man who wants to always to the right thing. I think he really wanted to protect Audrey and he knew he couldn't resist her, even though he tries. Good book.
All I Want is a passionate character study that focuses on internal drama rather than external events. Dallas has wanted Audrey for years, but never felt that he was the right man for her. He's always thought his job would come first, and he knew she deserved better than that. Audrey has also been in love with him for about as long as he's been her best friend's older brother - in other words, forever. When circumstances bring them together again, their undeniable chemistry forces them to examine whether there's more to their attraction than just lust.
Romances where nothing is keeping the couple apart other than their own feelings are difficult to write convincingly, because it's hard to set up a believable conflict. But in the hands of a great author like Ms. Croix, the emotional conflict that the characters feel is raw and riveting. Dallas, especially, undergoes an intense period of self-examination as everything he's thought about his life and his career are challenged by the unexpected depth of his feelings for Audrey. This story was beautifully written with engaging main characters and interesting secondary characters. It was a joy to read and had a wonderful HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book through Booksprout.
I absolutely fell in love with the characters Audrey and Dallas. She is a young lawyer who lives in New York and has crushed over her old friend’s brother, Dallas, for years. Five years ago she decided to confess her love for him, only to be rejected by him. Dallas is a FBI Agent who is married to his job, working long hours. Besides he feels Audrey deserves someone better than him, especially after the fiasco his dad created by defrauding his friends in a Ponzi Scheme despite the fact that Dallas paid back all the money the people lost. The couple have been able to avoid each other until this Christmas time when she shows up at her parents second home in to lick her wounds after she caught her fiancée in bed with her friend. Dallas had promised her dad that he would look out for the beach front home during the Christmas season since a burglary ring has been hitting the neighborhood. The author J. H. Croix manages to keep everything moving at such a good pace with. Audrey realizes the end of her engagement is a blessing as she sets her sights on breaking down the walls guarding Dallas’ resolve to keep his hands off Audrey who is nearly 10 years younger than him. There’s plenty of lust, love and steam in this delightful read
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I absolutely love everything written by this author. And this book is no exception. Her characters are written so vividly that you feel you know them, understand them, and see what motivates them. You want them to succeed. So I was definitely Team Audrey. She had this giant crush on Dallas forever. Five years ago she made an advance, but he rejected her and she decided to move on, basically by not seeing him. He also 'moved on' the same way. When they accidentally meet up at her family's cottage, all the feelings they've both had rise up again. Dallas continues to fight his, determined that his job keeps him a bachelor and all he can have, even with Audrey, is a fling. Audrey, just having been humiliated by her fiance, glad to have called off her wedding, happy to see Dallas, is willing to settle for the fling, for now. But eventually her feelings grow stronger. Will Audrey be able to settle for this short term fling with Dallas? Will Dallas really be able to give up Audrey? Does an HEA seem possible? Read this captivating book!!
After learning that her fiancé has been cheating on her with her friend Audrey takes off for her family summer home. Its winter and she knows it'll be empty and she'll have some time to herself or so she thought. She runs into Dallas her best friend's brother while trying to get to her family's home. Dallas is staying to watch the house for her dad due to some break ins in the neighborhood. The attraction between Dallas and Audrey is still there after all these years and after everything that's happened they finally give in. Dallas doesn't think he can be the man Audrey needs so when something comes up for work he jumps to do it. Audrey is alone in the house except for a dog she found when the people breaking into homes try to get into hers. Dallas is miles away when he receives her call and unable to do anything. Will Audrey be safe until help arrives? Will Dallas change his mind and be the man she wants?
This was a great story as usual for J.H. Croix. I couldn't put this down until I was at the end and was still left wanting more. If you haven't read anything by this author than this would be a great start.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I am all for this Holiday steam filled romance! What a beautiful, maddening, had me nodding my head, funny, sexy romance treat! I love a romance that is not all hearts and flowers at once, but throws us out some along the way! Dallas is the kind of male, who has a hard time expressing himself, Audrey was sassy but lacked self-confidence. Oh boy- J.H Croix did a spectacular job painting a vivid picture. I could see Dallas so clearly head having his internal conversations; I couldn't help but be amused, wanting to pat him on the head. While Audrey is contemplating her demons, being stubborn trying to fool herself it was a clustery mess, but one I did not want to put down! Such a well written, relatable, free-flowing sweet, saucy Holiday themed story! Sigh, it made my heart happy, and has me wanting to break out the craft supplies and make a wreath of my own! Going on my to Read Again List!
I really enjoyed this story. I loved the characters. Dallas and Audrey have both had a thing for the other for years but because of age difference and Dallas's connection to the family, only a kiss (plus a little more) has happened. Audrey made the first move but Dallas put a stop to it without explaining why. They have pretty much avoided each other for the last few years until they both end up at her parents' place in Haven's Bay, alone. I liked how the story developed and all the relationship building that went on. This story has a little bit of intrigue but it pretty much just focuses on the characters and their relationship. The sex is explicit and blended into the story well. There isn't a ton of it. I was entertained and engaged the whole time. I wasn't bored. This story is written in a way that you really don't need a lot of action to be engaged. I really enjoyed reading it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
For years, Dallas has been hiding from his desire for Audrey, his sister's best friend. Five years ago, they shared a kiss he has never been able to forget. But he's older than her and believed he was all wrong for her, so he moved on. Now his work is his life.
Audrey carried a crush on Dallas for years. After their kiss, after Dallas ran, believing she'd never have him, she settled. Now, she's found her fiancé, the man she settled for, in bed with friend.
Having broken off the engagement, she heads to her family home in Haven's Bay. She's more than surprised when she gets to the house and finds that Dallas is taking a break from his work and has agreed to watch the home for the holidays at the request of her father. Audrey knows it will be hard to share the space with Dallas for the month. She also knows that she might never have the opportunity again. Taking a deep breath, Audrey decides to show Dallas that she's all grown up and knows what she wants - and that's him.
Wowzer! "All I Want" is a smoking hot Christmas romance. Dallas and Audrey’s chemistry is off the charts, I’m still trying to cool down. Ms. Croix has written another 5-star romance with amazing characters. Audrey has been crushing on Dallas since she first figured out the whole guy-girl thing. Dallas has been attracted to her for the last 5 years, but thought she was too young back then so he purposely avoided her. Now he’s back in Haven’s Bay to watch over her dad’s house. What he doesn’t know is that Audrey just broke up with her fiancé and has decided to hide out at her parent’s house. Dallas is tempted beyond reason and they soon start a physical relationship, but that’s all it can be according to Dallas. What he doesn’t expect is for his heart to get involved. There isn’t time in his life for anything besides his work, or is there? P.S. I loved when Molly came into the picture, she was just so cute!
It was good but the repeated parts were getting on my nerves. Every time Audrey we’re self doubt she would repeat what she already say once or more times already. Same for Dallas, with her being 8 or 9 or 10 years difference (I saw at dirt it was he was 8 years older then it went to 9 and then 10, which is it?) I felt somewhat of a connection between Dallas and Audrey but as friends because I didn’t fell a romantic connection. I hate to say skimmed through sections since each time I tried to read I felt a bit more disconnected. Beginning till the middle the chapters were good length but after wards they got shorter and more hurried up. I wanted to like it but I could connect as a reader to this story.

I'm in a book mood, a Christmas romance book mood that is. The first one I read by another author not so good. This book definitely better. I loved the characters, secondary characters and the story. I just wish it was longer or the author had made their hea not at the very end. Like so many authors today the majority of the book is the struggle to the hea the majority of the book then bam! Hea and if your lucky epilogue. Well this book was no exception struggle, be together don't be together then hea. We the readers put our time , money and emotions into these books and I for one would like a well rounded book! A beginning, a middle and an end in equal parts. 3 stars for that reason. Otherwise Dallas hot, Audrey strong heroine good story should have been a 4 star read!
Dallas and Audrey's story is an emotional read. It is heartbreaking to see them struggle with their feelings for each other, despite the fact that they have both had a secret crush on each other for years. At first, it was the age gap that caused Dallas to push her away. Later, she was off-limits for a variety of reasons, including the fact that he's a workaholic while she deserves so much more ... When they find themselves under the same roof, sparks fly, feelings resurface, and suddenly all bets are off ... I loved this intense emotional roller coaster, the off-the-charts chemistry between the two protagonists. And I love the small town setting in which the story is placed. Add in the holiday spirit, and it's just the perfect read, that makes you fall hard and fast for the brooding hero and his feisty heroine.
Excellent contemporary Law Enforcement romance. Dallas works for the FBI. His major function was to take down and stop financial crimes. Unfortunately, his job but close to home and his family was pulled apart. Audrey is an attorney in New York. She decided to break her engagement. She needed time so she went to her family's mountain home. Dallas was staying there for a few weeks vacation, while watching the house for Audrey's father. She's always had a crush on Dallas even though he's 10yrs older. As they co-habitate feelings stir yet difficulties arise. I received a complementary copy of this book via Booksprout and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this author.
This is a wonderful, romantic story with the perfect setting. Our protagonists, Audrey and Dallas were well-written characters with such amazing personalities that hide such deep feelings. The storyline engaged me immediately and held my interest until the final word. The only criticism comes as a result of me being a dog lover, especially for rescued dogs. Much to my dismay, Molly the malnourished nine month old stray disappeared from the story in Chapter thirty. When last we saw happy Molly she was running through the snow never to be heard from again in the remaining chapters. It's for that reason to his story gets four not five stars. (Note: I was provided an Advanced Review Copy of this book thru Booksprout in exchange for an honest review).
I loved this Christmas romance story. Audrey walks in on her fiance having sex with her friend. So she leaves town to clear her head. Her car breaks down but Dallas comes to her rescue. The one man she did not expect to see. The one man she has wanted for 5 years. The one man she didn't think wanted her back. Dallas has always been half in love with Audrey. He never expected to see her walking down the road in the snow. I loved how he showed her how much he wanted her. He was there for her when she needed him to help her face her ex. She helped him come to realize that he could have a family with his busy work life. These two were meant to be together. I loved this book. J.H. Croix always writes beautiful love stories that hit right at your heart. Love it!
