SERGEI 30 days of pain have pushed Willow to her limits. My pretty prisoner is no longer meek. She's trying to resist. But my precious prize doesn't know what I know. Nobody has ever won a war against me. Nobody has ever bested me. And she's not going to be the first. Good luck, little Willow... Now you're not fighting to escape anymore. You're fighting to survive.
WILLOW My captor's rules have changed. I'm still a prisoner, and freedom seems further away than ever. I have endured every blow, every harsh word, every kind of hurt Sergei threw at me. But now I've betrayed him, and I've awoken the monster within. I have to pay for my sins...or my family will pay the price.
This is a dark romance, complete with trigger warnings! Part 2 of a 3 part series. No cheating, HEA guaranteed at the end of the series. If you love heartbreaking cliffhangers, one-click now!
Thirty days of shame is book two of the trilogy and will leave you wanting more. Luckily Thirty days of hate is out now and also free on kindle unlimited.
Willow and her family are in hiding. They are trying to escape their life, but it won't last. All the main players are closer than they think.
Sergei wants Willow back. Just for a little while, but she will be punished for running away. He wants to keep her safe from everyone, but himself.
Thirty days of shame is Sergei's story. We get to understand his past, future and what makes him tick. He isn't a good man, but maybe he has a little bit of heart.
This is a disturbing relationship which only belongs in a book. It's very addictive and very wrong. Twisted love. Only read this book if you have every intention of finishing the series. It's a cliffhanger instalment.
If you like your books gritty, crazy and a little fucked up this is for you. It has themes of human trafficking, violence and some out of control sexual scenes. I'm really enjoying this series (I'm not sure what that says about me but I'm hooked) and after finishing this book I opened book 3 straight away.
Similar to the first book, I still hate Sergei. I get it: he is messed up. He had a horrific upbringing. That said, his treatment of Willow is still inexcusable. He is no romance book hero- he is the villain of a thriller. He does not deserve an HEA, and he sure doesn't deserve Willow. That said, if I look at this as a thriller, it is a good book. I refuse to consider it a romance, dark or otherwise. Behold, some lovely examples of his sweet murmurings to Willow:
-Now I am truly beating the shit out of her, and it makes me feel cold and dead and sick inside.
-"On your back. Legs spread open, knees bent. Make me tell you twice, and your punishment will be fifty lashes.” He advances towards me until I’m backed up against the bed. “I’ll beat you until you pass out. Then I’ll revive you and finish the job.”
-I grab my bullwhip and I bring it down – hard. She thinks I’ve been cruel to her before, but I’ve never genuinely whipped her, not like this.
-“This is me. This is what I am. Tell me what the fuck you are planning, or I will whip the flesh from your body.”
Warms the heart, doesn't it? If only Hallmark could write such lovely words. Definitely the kind of stuff the hero of a romance novel should say to the heroine. While he beats her.
-deep breath-
Again, if taken as a thriller, I think it's a good book. It makes me feel. It makes me angry. I admire the strength of Willow, Anastasia, and the kids. But if I were discussing it from the reference of it being a romance I can't contain my anger. Sergei is an abusive monster. I recommend it as a thriller, but not as a romance.
Ahhhhh.....Sergei was so incredible good/bad... lover/fighter....Strong yet venerable.....he is on a mission and nothing is going to stop him...he admits to himself that he loves Willow and Willow knows he has feelings for her. Willow is very strong but weak in love when it comes to Sergei...and what a cliff hanger....so far this series is worth the read...
"I lied to myself. [...] And now look where my lies have gotten me."

Thirty Days of Shame is the second book in a three-book serial. It ends with a cliffhanger. If you haven’t read Thirty Days of Pain, the first book in the series, beware because this review may contain SPOILERS.
TDoS picks up a month or two after the end of TDoP. Willow has managed to get her cousins and aunt away from her uncle and Sergei, her captor. She’s careful to take any and all precautions to prevent being found, but it doesn’t last and she’s soon back with Sergei, forced into another thirty day agreement to be his captive. Willow doesn’t go easily, but when she realizes she’s safer with him than without, she gives in and Sergei resumes his torment.
By the end of book one, Willow has become fed up with everything: Sergei, her uncle, herself. She gets angry and doesn’t hesitate to show it. Unfortunately, as book two progresses, she becomes even more enamored with Sergei and loses a lot of her fire. Yet, Sergei is just as abusive as he was before, if not more so. He goes out of his way to hurt her (emotionally and physically) and she knows it, yet it’s still her sobbing and begging, always. I wanted her strong and mad, not desperate and broken.
The reader is finally given an explanation of Sergei’s past, explaining why he does what he does. And even though I cried at his backstory, his violence was excessive and I wouldn’t mind much if only Willow wasn’t falling more in love with him every time he beat her. He’s the villain and the hero, and I realize it’s not easy to write such characters. My problem is more with Willow’s reaction to his violence. She justifies that she deserves what he doles out, that no matter what he does to her she’ll always love him, and that she will fight for him. Sergei needs to show more growth and emotion and fight for her, not the other way around.
I love dark romances, but their relationship is more fitting for a thriller about Stockholm Syndrome rather than a romance. Sergei is too manipulative and domineering of a character for me to want to root for, but I’m still going to see this series out to its end. And hopefully, book three will finally give Willow the upper-hand.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second part of a trilogy that really needs to be read after Thirty Days of Pain, it really cannot be read on its own. This dark romance follows Willow as she tries to hide from both her uncle and Sergei. But you can't run from your past! This is a dark and violent story so be prepared. However, if you don't mind dark, it is a really tough story to put down! Once again the story ends on a cliffhanger, and I for one cannot wait for the next installment! Argh, January!!!!!!
Holy crap. I freaking love and hate these books!!! Do NOT read Thirty Days of Shame without reading Thirty Days of Pain!! I love Sergei, I hate him, I feel so bad for him and what shaped him to be the way he is now. He's alpha, he's deadly, he protects at all costs. He's an a-hole, a sadist, he's an unfeeling monster. I cannot get enough of him! Willow. Strongest and weakest woman I have had the pleasure of reading. Her heart will get her killed but does she ever have the will power to get through anything! Book 3 cannot come out soon enough!!!
This is the 2nd book in the series. I read it immediately following the first one and now am on to the second one. Good storyline, fast paced and you get both points of view (H&h). This one ends on a cliffhanger too but not so bad that you are going to scream at your kindle if you know what I mean!
Things get intense in this installment. I love how strong Willow and the others turn out to be. Sergei is about to turn a corner in his life. When your life has all been about revenge and you have gotten it, what do you do next? Can you find something to fill that void? Will Willow be the answer?
Thirty Days of Pain Thirty Days of Shame Thirty Days of Hate by Ginger Talbot
I am voluntarily reviewing this ARC.
As I started to read this book, well all three books, I knew I was in for a journey. It’s a story of life being born into a mob family. The curtains are pulled back on the horrors and atrocities that take place, especially to women and children. There were moments that I had to sit back and hope and pray that this only lives within the mind of the author, but sadly, I don’t think that is true. The love that blooms between Sergei and Willow is conflicting at best, especially for me in my suburban life. However, as I separate myself and my sensibilities, and peek at a possible other life, I can see how their story is heartbreakingly beautiful.
One of the things I love about these books is the internal struggle that Willow has over her feelings for Sergei. It’s evident that the author knows, this is not norm, nor should it be. The character knows it is inappropriate and weird for lack of a better word. I love that the author doesn’t try to sell out Willow, to make is seem that it’s ok to be in a relationship with a man like Sergei and as long as a man shows some redeeming quality, us weak women have to forgive and forget. I despise when I read books like that. Books where subtly or not so subtlety, the woman is some how blamed for infidelity or abuse of some kind. It’s not that it doesn’t exist. I understand that, but I love that in these books, it’s pondered and not blamed or excused.
Here is a quote from the book that I felt was compelling.
“I’m built from different materials then I was led to believe. It’s like I was told I was fashioned from gold, but it was really lead. Everything that I thought was true about myself is a lie. I feel different from the inside out. I’ll start to forget, I’ll start to feel a little better, and then it comes rushing back to me and I feel disgusting all over again.”
This is a difficult book to read, but extremely compelling. I am giving it 5 stars out of 5 because this author is amazing. These characters are beautiful. This love story is epic.
I will say, I read all of these books all in a row, I think that made it enjoyable to me. I would hate to be on a cliff hanger with these charachters.

I loved this book, even though I haven't read the first book📕 yet, "Thirty Days of Pain", this book actually stands on its own. The book ends in a cliffhanger! Next book is "Thirty Days of Hate".
The second book of a trilogy can often feel like pointless filler, thankfully this never left me with that feeling. Willow has always been brave and strong when it came to protecting those she loves, in this we see her become even tougher and more determined to do whatever it takes to keep her family safe.
My biggest issue was that there was far too much betraying body syndrome. Just once or twice I would have appreciated it if Willow's libido hadn't meant she always gave in to Sergei. Talking of our anti-hero, he continues to be stone-deaf to anything Willow tries to tell him. Whilst I fully believed in his twisted obsession with her, it felt more akin to how someone might regard a possession. Sergei did understand human feelings - we got told often enough how much he loved his brother - so I call bull on his total inability to consider Willow's viewpoint. The author was trying to make a dark alpha hero but, for me, Sergei tipped over into abusive and controlling so I struggled to connect with the character.
My other gripe was that the author was fine with Sergei being abusive to Willow - slapping her hard across the face, sexually abusing her (enjoying it is not the same as consent) etc but chickened out of ever letting anything truly bad happen to Willow at the hands of others. That said, the writing was better in this book and I am invested enough in Willow to want to finish the series.
Willow and her family have run away from Sergei and their lives for a new one where they hope to not be found. While she works her aunt takes care of the kids and they go and learn some self defense on the chance they will need it some day. Sergei and his men find them and bring them back to his house as Willow didnt complete her 30 days so now her time starts over, with the promise that they will all be let go at the end.
What I enjoyed most about Thirty day of Shame was watching how strong Willow was in trying to start a new life over for her and her family. Having plans for if they were found and all Willow cared about was to have her family be free of the life they were brought into or born into. Seeing how Sergei has changed and how he cant be without her even tho he knows its a big weakness but needing her for the last 30 days for his plan to work out.
This book is a dark read. Willow finally finds out some things she has always wanted to find out about Sergei and her family, she also learns about herself that no matter what Sergei does to her she still is in love with him and wants him to stay with her forever, Sergei is almost done with his revenge from all those who messed with him in his youth but he knows he is changing and its because of Willow. If you like stories like this, then Thirty Days of Shame is a must!
EPIC!!! SENSATIONAL!!!! GRIPPING!!! OH MY GOD!!!! THIS BOOK JUST HAS BLEW ME AWAY!!! Yeah saying all that in shouty caps. I didn't expect this one to be Soo Intense and having so much more action than the first book. This series just keeps getting better.
This book continues with Willow and how she survived after what happened at the end of book one. But we get to see a completely different Willow. As if she is re born and has risen back from the ashes like a pheonyx. From the humble and kind and obedient willow, we get to see a willow who is headstrong not afraid at all to speak her mind and I just loved how she's become into a warrior lady and that spitfire attitude was amazing. I loved The Willow Version 2.0 in this book. Whereas, Sergei is Sergei... Intense, hard, unapologetic and relentless and so so raw and passionate. But in this book we truly get to see the many layers and why he is the way he is. We get to finally witness the fires that he's being forged through.
But oh my..... This book had so many twists and so much action going. I felt like I was on the edge and so afraid I might fall AND THEN BOOM... I FELL..... THAT ENDING.... NOOOOOOO!!!! I'M SO DAMN GOING CRAZY TO KNOW WHAT AND WHY AND JUST WHAT....... I'M SO IN LOVE WITH THIS SERIES. Loved loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thirty days Revised Review This is book two of the trilogy - And yes it ends on a cliffhanger - not a major one but enough of "Wait- What- but How" that you may be slightly tempted to throw a small tantrum 😊
Like book one this is a psychological thriller with very dark undertones - as I tend to say regularly this is for those who like to play on the dark side - not for beginners just dipping into the pool. If you decide to come in remember you were warned so no moaning about getting all wet~!
Talbot brought a lot more "technicolor" and strength to many of the supporting characters from book one - I really like Helinka - kids a handful of dynamite - and Anastassia is possibly a force to be reckoned with or needs to be strung up - not really sure how I feel about her yet
The ride is getting rougher as we go further into the twisted mind of Sergei - He is still enamored with his toy -while at the same time he recognizes how quickly he can break it- during this book I did find myself leaning toward him a bit - he may be demented and a bit (okay seriously) dark but you have to give him props - he is smart and knows how to foresee possibly "hiccups" in his plan
Old enemies and new surprises lie in wait around every corner keeping you on edge and wondering where the next blow will come from
Willow Toporov starts a new life with her aunt and cousins after reinventing herself as diner waitress Sarah Maynard. Everything is going well ... then Sergei shows up. Willow tries to make a run for it until she finds out that Sergei has her family, then she's grief stricken and furious, thinking "I will never escape this life." Sergei is relieved to have Willow back in his life, even if she won't be his for long. Sergei tells Willow the details of their new deal ... Spend 30 days with him and treat him with respect. At the end of 30 days, Sergei will leave the country forever. Willow will be free and can keep his house and live there with her family. Willow is in love with Sergei and has tried everything to break the armour around his heart. Sergei is obsessed with Willow and trying to wean himself from her, like a drug addict. What will happen at the end of 30 days?
Ginger Talbot delivers an action-packed, suspenseful and steamy story you won't be able to put down
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book
This is a dark book, but it is written very well. It was an emotional roller coaster to read. I was angry, sad, and happy at times through this read. I enjoyed the story very much though. I read "Thirty Days of Pain" first to get an idea of the rest of the story, and both had me hating to put the book down.
Sergei is a damaged young man who's only thoughts in life are revenge for his pain and treatment as a boy. He wants to make sure that everyone involved pays for the pain and torture that he and his brother and his friends from childhood went through.
Willow is a young woman who is born into a family that makes their money off of others pain. She is a pawn in Sergei's revenge, until he has her and realizes that she is the only person who can keep the darkness at bay.
Can Willow help Sergei heal? Will Sergei destroy Willow? I will have to wait until January to find out if they will ever be able to be happy. I look forward to reading more of their story.
This is the second book in this series therefore, if you haven’t read Thirty Days of Pain, I would strongly urge you to do so.
OMG I didn’t know whether to like or hate Sergei. You get to see a different side of him in this book - a side he’s hidden from everyone. It takes a special woman like, Willow to wake up his cold and bitter heart. He’s hates what she’s done to him but can’t help being drawn to her. He isn’t worthy of her good heart never mind her love; she deserves better. Yet his heart aches for her and he’s lost in his own darkness without his beautiful Willow.
Will Sergei set her free? Tough decisions need to be made; will Sergei destroy the only woman he’s ever loved or love her like she truly deserves?
This book was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Sergei was broken, damaged yet vulnerable - his pain, sadness and fears were captured really well.
Wow! This is part two of a three book series. You'll definitely need to read Thirty Days Of Pain before reading this one or you will be lost. This is an amazing read to me. The plot had me hooked from the very beginning. The story-line flowed smoothly throughout. The characters were well-developed and easily relatable for me. This isn't a typical romance. It's VERY dark. I loved the fact that Willow was in love with Sergei despite his faults. His backstory is very disturbing and heart-breaking. It explains quite a bit about him. It shouldn't excuse his treatment of Willow despite the fact that she likes it physically. I can't wait to read how it turns out in part 3.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book...
This book put me through a rollercoaster of emotions. All the reveals throughout left me in tears at many times; Descriptions of what led to Sergei’s brutality left me breathless. I had to stop reading to fully absorb the empathy I immediately felt. Willow’s gradual acceptance of the lie that she realized was her life was heart-wrenching. This broken couple just needs to realize that that they need the other in order to survive. I now wait patiently for the next book in this series, so I can see that happen; whether it’ll be HEA complete with marriage and baby remains to be seen. I do hope for that with these 2.
I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems. This dark romance just draws you in. You want Sergei to start to heal so that he can be with sweet Willow. He was so damaged as a youngster, that he has done awful things as an adult. But, he deserves love too. I will not be able to wait patiently for part 3. I am so hopeful that there will be a happy ending. I want Willow, who has fallen deeply in love with Sergei, to be able to soften him, so he can love her openly. Of course, as he said, someone treated cruelly will never heal completely, but the pain will fade. Ginger, I sure hope you let these two people be there for one another...
I received a complimentary copy of this book for voluntary review consideration
This is the 2nd book in the series, it would be advantageous to read the 1st book to be able to follow the whole storyline.
Willow lost her parents in a plane crash and is living with her Uncle’s family. Serge is a Russian Mafia boss who after the revenge of his brother’s death. is Willow is used as a pawn between her Uncle and Serge. Serge dominates and humiliates her, but she falls in love with him. Serge has her for 30 days but with twist and turns, drama and kidnapping it’s more than 30 days. Can Willow break Serge down and get their HEA?
I really did. I loved it. And if it was better edited, I’d have given it five stars. It’s a five star read if you can forgive coffee being turned to wine within four sentences and other such editing blemishes.
So, that being said, Willow is definitely a sick sick girl and Sergei is definitely a psychopath and there is almost nothing redeeming about their love, but I love it. And eff me for not checking to see that the whole series was out before starting it. Ugh.
Omfg. I'm glad there is a third book coming out can't wait well really I hate waiting for books to come out so hope it does when it says it will hope there is more then three books. Man there awesome alot of twists and turns and having me hot one minute and cold and crying the next. But so worth it's 5 stars all the way couldn't rate it any less if I had more options to rate more stars I would. I recommend this books to anyone that's wants a good love book with some really intresting twists to it that's for sure.
📚I am honestly and voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader's copy of this book📚 This is the second of 3 books in the 30 days series. While better and certainly more interesting than the first book, Sergei's relationship with Willow still steps over the line to physical abuse. I really do enjoy dark romance, but him beating her and her screaming for him to stop is not sexy in my world. BUT, getting into why he is the way he is was the save in this segment. Ends with a tear jerking cliffy...on to book 3
I voluntarily received this arc for an honest review. Wow! Talk about a hot one, this is a dark steamy rollercoaster rids of emotions! This is part 2 of a trilogy and I had not read the first ,but you can still follow story OK. Although there is a lot of graphic detail , the story line is pretty well written. Willow and Sergei belong together even though they shouldn't be. Sometimes revenge turns the tables before you know it.. 3 stars
