Christian evangelist and author based in Bangalore, India.

Zac Poonen was formerly an Indian Naval Officer who has been serving the Lord in India for nearly 50 years as a Bible-teacher. He has responsibility for a number of churches in India and abroad.

He has written more than 25 books and numerous articles in English - which have been translated into many Indian and foreign languages. His messages are available on audio CDs and video DVDs.

Like the other elders in CFC, Zac Poonen also supports himself and his family through "tent-making" and does not receive any salary for his services. He does not receive any royalty for any of his books, CDs or DVDs, that are published by Christian Fellowship Centre, Bangalore.

Every youngster on this planet must read this book. It explains us about how and what all a marriage and a relationship is about in a godly manner.

The Author, Zac Poonen, elaborates very clearly the concepts of "Lust which is mistaken by many youngsters as love, Sex which is driving the youngsters to the abyss of failures, the differences between a soul-mate and lover, the level of success in inter-caste marriages etc."

This book is orginally from the 70's and from a Indian culture background and some areas are characterized from that point of view, f.ex. the custom of dowry and caste systems that is very popular in Indian culture. Zac Poonen takes a stand against it showing why christians should stay away from such customs when it comes to finding your life partner. Some of the points Poonen is promoting is his own good and honest opinions and many of them are truly biblical principles and commands that every christian should pursue in the relam of sex, love and marriage. The book is conservative and maybe too much for an avarage christian, but for christians that really, wholeheartedly, eagerly and sincerly wants to follow Christ and the Word in every matter, this area is no exception and should be pursued. The book also gives some important things to consider before getting engaged and married, f.eks. doctrinal differences, church denominational differences and other relevant areas.

I have no idea why anyone thought it necessary to recently translate this relationship & sex self help book from the 70ies to German. I certainly don't see a need for it because we have up-to-date books for Christians here that are also created for our market and society.

This book was very specific to the Indian society in addition to propagating old fashioned conceptions of gender, like seeing women as damaged goods for even having been in a completely chaste relationship.

One of my favourite relationships book I have read so far. Highly recommend for Christian’s who are in a season of singleness. It is written with the context of Indian culture and traditions, however the principles still remain the same.
